When we needed international stamps, stamps for bills, and decorative stamps for cards, we've been greeted with and assisted promptly and kindly. When we've had packages going out, they've quickly and efficiently assisted us to get them delivered. When I just need to drop off letters I can drop them in the box out front of the building's parking lot, just inside the entry, or hand it directly to someone when I'm picking up more postage. None of these things are really new, it's the post office. The biggest difference is there is a global pandemic and these folks are out here working hard and helping me reach people I can't reach in person right now. They mail my handwritten hugs out for me. And that's pretty special. Please don't take it for granted.

I typically stop here if I need to mail a package because it's on my way to Costco. The location is not convenient for me due to the options of either a traffic light or a U-turn on Montgomery. However, the service has been top-notch with every employee making every effort to assist with my shipping needs. As I wait in the long line, I notice each employee engaging the customer without distraction, and typically with a friendly smile and tone of voice. Julie assisted my wife and me the last time, and her interaction with us was very pleasant, as if we were her first customer and not the "umpteenth" one. Plenty of parking is available. The PO Boxes are right as one walks in the door. Overall, the indoor areas are spacious, but the main area for customer is out-of-date, sterile, and dingy like the mold exterior of the building.

Apparently there's some algorithm Amazon has where if it's your mistake for sending the item back (such as no longer needed) they'll make you pay to return it or have to bring it to a pickup point. Whereas, if the item was damaged, wrong size, etc. then the return process is very easy and free. I see you Jeff Bezos. Anyways, I will say that my return experience after driving all the way out there was a breeze. I walked in, they had a table in the middle with sharpie, packing tape, etc. on it. I was able to use the tape to affix my label onto my box. I did not see any employees when I first walked in, and when it came time to leave my box I was unsure of where to do that, since it was too large to fit into any of the slots on the walls. Luckily, an employee came out from the back and saw me looking where to put the box and he took it from me and that was it! I walked out and my return was taken care of. It still would have been easier to drop off at my local UPS within walking distance from my home rather than a 25 minute drive, but at least it wasn't anymore of a pain once I got to this Amazon pickup point.

It opened in the early 1940s, and its dawns GRAND features, like high ceilings, marble flooring, ornate bronze doors, bronze lock boxes, and many other unique features that brings it its character. It serves as both a post office and a hub for the Catholic Diocese. As it relates to me, it is walkable from my job - so on days when the weather is nice, I opted to walk. When I don't walk, I drive and they have a limited amount of parking but there is parking available on the street and surrounding areas. The wait is usually not too bad - unless you are going during peak hours. The staff is nice and helpful. They usually have everything I am looking for with the exception of some speciality box sizes - which can simply be secured via their website. The price is the price! We already know how hard our US postal workers have to work, so I patron the postal office as much as I possibly can.

In this trip, I had to stop by the desk because I had to mail some perfume to my mother for the holiday season. We were doing some shopping in the Lake Mary area and decided to try the Monroe office since it was on our way. The building is a decent size; however, the reception area where you weigh packages and pay the USPS staff members is very small; only enough room for two to three customers max. A bit weird but it got the job done. Fortunately for us when we are arrived we were the only customers here. Shortly after our arrival, about four more customers came in but had to lineup in the foyer just outside the doorway/entrance to the reception. My mom had two ship two packages to NY. I don't remember the exact weight of the boxes but it cost around $60. A bit pricey, but still cheaper than adding an additional piece of luggage to her flight home. Staff here were very pleasant and we were in and out and no time. Overall the store is clean, organized, and is a great alternative when the downtown Sanford post office is in the weeds.
