This location is always super busy. If you do need to send something at the desk, be prepared to be in line for a bit. I appreciate this location because they do have a self-serve kiosk although I do think they can easily support two based upon the amount of business that they have that comes through here. In this trip, I had to stop by the desk because I had to mail some perfume to my mother for the holiday season. It did take me about 20 minutes in total by the time I got in line to what I actually was able to check out. They do have a new associate on so he's still learning , but I've always found all of them to be very professional and respectful. read more

This is your standard post office. The employees are friendly enough, but it is still a routine that many of us take for granted. I'm in post offices quite a bit. My business requires me to mail a lot of stuff and it has to be weighed, so I am frequently in post offices. Since I travel a lot for work, I am in quite a few different post offices. Overall, this was an okay experience dealing with a government entity. I will give this post office four stars. read more

I have always enjoyed the professional attention to detail at this PO faculty. How a large envelope being sent to Winter Garden, Florida was paid for for Sixty extra dollars for three day service. It was returned to the Maryland PO because no was home to sign... to put a long story short; I absolutely never requested signature; but the PO delivery man at window checked it off. My son went to retrieve it and the PO said they sent it back to me... It been three weeks now after paying $80...,, what is going on? I call and no one answered the Winter Garden PO phone!!!!!! This location is easy to get in and out of. Plus the staff is very nice, and always helpful. They never make you feel rushed, even when you are standing in front of them with about 10 different things to mail! It's a smaller office than some, so the lines can stretch out the door. But even when that happens, the wait time is never very long. Yesterday I was mailing something overseas, and I needed to fill out the customs form. I always forget to do a part of it, but John was super patient and made sure everything was perfect. When I questioned about how to send something else out, he made sure to guide me in the correct direction for what I really wanted, instead of up selling me something I didn't. I appreciated that because I don't like to spend excess money on things I really don't need. It will likely be a few weeks, but I'm sure I'll be back that way again soon! read more

I want to take the opportunity to praise the Winter Garden Post Office employees. Not only is this post office impeccably clean and organized but every single employee working the desk is outstanding and deserves recognition. After countless interactions over the years I have never walked away unhappy. No matter when you arrive to do business they are professional, cheerful and friendly. This week I showed up ten minutes before closing and as soon as I walked up to the counter I was greeted warmly. As I confessed my ignorance on the best way to accomplish my task I was given a few options. After picking what I thought would work I received a compliment on my choice. This instilled confidence and satisfaction. It's so rare to experience this type of customer service on a regular basis. I am very grateful and appreciative to all of the employees. read more

Any packages dropped at this location will be at least a day delayed in tracking. This has happened many times to me. If you don't hand it to an employee and get a receipt it maybe days until tracking appears. This has never happened at Oakland, downtown Winter Garden, Claracona. Never thought I would have a good thing to say about a post office but I guess I was wrong. All of the employees here are actually friendly and greet you with a smile. They do go above and beyond to help with any problems or issues as well. The only negative is the slower rate of service but then again that is due to their wanting to help each customer. This is a world of difference from a New Jersey post office. Bonus points for the self service machine in the lobby as well. ***update 12/2/15*** Still getting fast service with a smile! read more

Tracking a lost package is not their job. At least that is what Winter Garden Post Master Ken Cummings told me when I called to ask for help with a package that, according to the tracking number that stated the last know location was, in fact Winter Garden post office. He was extremely rude and said that the pallet was scanned in but my package was in it. So, where is my package? He told me the vendor never sent it and contact them. My next question was how could it have gotten a "scan" saying it was at Winter Garden PO and Ken Cummings had no answer. Only saying that he couldn't help me. I asked him if they could put a trace on the package, and here is the part that really gets me, he told me that putting a trace on a lost package was not his job! Well, Ken who's job is it to look for lost packages? Then because he is a typical overpaid and underwhelming government employee that cannot be fired no matter how rude or incompetent, he screamed at me he wasn't going to help me and hung up on me! So there you have it and remember your tax dollars are paying for this! So ship important packages with USPS at your own risk and remember they get paid no matter what so Ken Cummings and his crew just don't care! read more

I will go out of my way to go to this post office instead of the other post office in Winter Garden (...trust me... avoid the one on Plant street unless you are in anger management and patience counseling!). The folks at this location on Colonial are awesome, fast, and efficient. read more

While I'm somewhat partial to this location since I participated in it's opening ceremony when I was very young, I still prefer this location over most because of the great customer service here. The staff are always exceptionally friendly and helpful when I go in. They also seem to be really efficient because the line can be almost to the door and I don't feel like I wait long at all. Recently when I went in they had an extra person helping people in the line. They answered questions, helped people use the self service station if it wasn't necessary for them to wait in line and even took a large package from an elderly woman and had it waiting at the front for her when she got through the line so that she didn't have to hold it the whole time. I was thoroughly impressed with how the staff behaved and the location is always clean. read more

I mailed a package on December 14th. I had all of the forms completed to mail the package standard first class mail. The attendant at the counter advised me that if I sent the package Global Express International, the package would be guaranteed within 3-5 business days and would include $200 insurance. Since first class mail was not insurable and would most likely not arrive by Christmas, I paid for the upgraded service, which totaled $51.65. I continued to check on the status of the package, but it did not arrive by Christmas and appeared to have been lost. I went into the Winter Garden post office on December 26th and spoke with Edward Walsh, who I was advised was the supervisor on duty. He was extremely rude and dismissive to me. He said that it appeared my package was being held at customs, which was out of his control. I asked what I should do and he offered no assistance to help me. I asked about the insurance and delivery guarantee that I had purchased. He said, "I'm not going to play the what if game with you mam" that it was "not his problem" and that I could call the 1-800 # but that he "doubted they would be willing to do anything for me either". I left and did call the 1-800 #. I spoke with several departments who assisted me in filing a report to try to track down my lost package. They also advised me to file a complaint online about Mr. Walsh. I received a phone call from a gentleman named Carl approx a week later who told me that if I came into the post office again, he would reimburse my shipping expense. The only time he was available was mornings during operating hours, which meant me taking time off from work to resolve the situation. I went to the post office on January 15th and at first no one knew who Carl was and I waited while the attendant tried to locate him. I was eventually greeted by a man who presented himself as Carl. He asked for my receipt and disappeared into the back. I could hear him talking to another man who was tellling him that he had already told me that they would not be offering me any refund. Carl returned, apologized and said there was nothing he could do for me. This has been a huge hassle, expense and waste of my time. Do not purchase any upgraded services from USPS. They do not stand behind these guarantees. I have since been told by the 1-800 # that Germany is one of the few countries that does not participate in the global guarantee program, which was never explained to me. read more
