Employees are rude. Dirty, you can't find a single pen to use. 1 person in the front with line reaching to the street.

Post offices are terrible nowadays. I just made this point in a review from a few days ago. But, today at least, this as painless an experience as you could ever hope for at the USPS. It still has its problems; for instance, when I was here there was at least one other employee who was sitting at one of the customer windows throughout the time I was there, but wasn't helping anyone. When I got here there was really no one there--a large group (probably a family there for passports?) were leaving, so there were only two people in front of me in line. I was in and out within 5-10 minutes, with three sets of forever stamps in my possession. They didn't have the ones I had been hoping for (those lunar new year ones are hard to find now!) but they had some nice ones. This is a large post office and it can be a mess when it's busy, particularly during the holidays. There are a ton of post office boxes here. There are at least three post boxes outside directly in front of the post office, and one across the street. Street parking only in this location, though it's free and easy (and Whistler's across the street still doesn't seem to be sold as of May 2022, so the parking lot there is probably a safe place for parking as well). read more

Where do I even begin, I knew that office its constantly short on people constantly lines with dissatisfied customer but I want it to give it a try since I run into a bit of a problem myself with the niles location passport department.  I made appointment for Niles office a week or so in advance as per office rules, went to the office on time only to be turn away with the reason passport agent didn't show up to work, and instead of giving the people who missed the appointment due to employee beeing absent and rest of the office stuff unable to help they just told us to go again with the process of making appointment online again, which in my case I already lost a week and have to wait till next available time which would be really inconvenient due to me expediting my passport aplications. So I look the offices and found Devon office have a walk in options for passport related aplication once a week between 3-4 pm, because rest its only by appointment only. When I got to the post office around 3.05 pm. I had one lady in the line infront of me one by the passport agent cashier and line of about 12 people next to us with a regular people looking for post office needs. I had about 45 min to do my application since it takes about 15 min to process aplication. To our surprise the passport agent- employee of this office Indian speaking female she stated that she will not take passport aplication after she's finishing the client in front of her instead she will take care of 12 impatient people in the line because they shprt on people and someone on lunch, everybody got angry people to the left in line already been staring on the passport related customers since they taking to long and us looking at all this insanity dont understand what will happen next lady in front of me start flipping of since she took lunch brake came here early and now she's almost not making it? This is a very outdated post office located in a nice community. The place is huge but so old, I mean old like breaking down old not vintage. But the most unpleasant experience is the attitude of the staffs. They work so slow and rude and arrogant. They act like I am there to ask for hand outs or something. In addition, there are only 2 working clerks at most of the time, sometimes just 1 clerk while there are more than 10 customers in line. Don't recommend this place at all. read more

I think I've written one Yelp review for a post office because it was good but I usually refrain from writing any others because they're all just generally bad. Is it possible to be exceptionally EXCEPTIONALLY bad? Because given the low bar that I already have for the post office this one manages to dig a hole under it and then pees in the hole it just made under the bar. I've been there in person where there was only one person behind the counter who then randomly disappears, but while I was waiting in the weirdly long line that was there on a random weekday afternoon I'm pretty certain myself and my fellow USPS malcontents were witness to a fight. Not amongst the customers, but between postal workers. There was a room that had all the shades drawn and while we were standing there at the usual level of dissatisfaction we heard one voice yell about hiding out and getting to get back to work then another yell right back and then the shades got violently moved like someone had been pushed into it. Oh, and this post office is also responsible for one of my packages being sent back to Hong Kong, sure the ZIP code was wrong but the street address was correct. I got a phone call once from them asking me what should be done about it but for another box they just decided, 'to hell with it,' and sent it back. Please avoid this office if you can, and go to another one for a passport application. The employees are extremely rude, give you the wrong information, and scream at you. Even calling in advance to find out details about appointments and photos would not help. I called to make an appointment and was told that I could walk in and have photos taken on the spot. The experience has been completely the opposite - an angry lady started screaming that walk-ins are allowed only between 3-4 pm and that her camera is broken. She also screamed at my kid as to why she doesn't have an ID since she's over 16 - she did have her valid passport. 2.5 stars It's one of the better US Postal Offices. It's very large but can get very busy as well. One time I came in on a random week day before the holidays and the line was all the way to the front door. Usually there are only two employees working so it can get backed up pretty quickly. Talk to anyone in line, any one of the many customers over the years that has done business here, it's absurd that nothing changes. It's not every counter employee and it's sad to say it's the one thing that has stayed the same with this location. Peep the photo, if you've been here there's a guy in the photo you'll remember. Man, that dude's been here for years! Still the same old attitude. Grouchy. Nowadays if I have time and don't mind the gas expenditure I'll travel to Skokie to mail my items. Isn't that crazy! My post office of choice is Evanston, but if you've got to hit a P.O. on Devon, this is the one. First of all, there tends to be available free parking on Devon or the side streets, which is not generally the case for city P.O.s. and certainly not the case for the Rogers Park P.O. just down the road. The employees don't seem to hate their jobs or the general public as much as the Rogers Park P.O., and there is a self-service station here to make shipping labels for one's packages to avoid the line, but whenever I've been here, the line has moved pretty quickly. As far as post offices go, I got no major complaints about this location. (I'll still go to Evanston unless other errands bring me to this area). read more

It is hard to believe that a local post office can be a dysfunctional as this one. Countless days we have no postal carrier. So much mail never gets delivered. For example, I never got my most recent car insurance bill and invoice (which was sent at least 3 times). Last December, we and our neighbors went THREE weeks with no mail during holiday season. Many times our tracking info says a package was delivered even though it was not. Most recently we had a package that the tracking stated it was out for delivery June 26 but there was no safe place to leave it, even though there is almost always somebody home. Did the post office notify of this of that? Well, not until July 5 with a notice dated July 1. We scheduled redelivery for yesterday, July 6, but -- you guessed it! -- no mail carrier yesterday, period. Try to call them? Hopeless. Nine times out of 10 the phone is disconnected before it gets to the operator, and if you do get the operator, they tell you that whoever handles such calls is unavailable. So now I have to worry that I am out $120 for a product that I might never receive. read more

One shouldn't write yelp reviews if they are angry. But one can't help it either. This place is awful. Then again I am starting to think that the concept of good customer service is dead lately. I have come to this post office several times as I live in the area and its the closest one around. If i wish to be nice then I would say, I refuse to go to this place and buy my stamps at Walgreens. But I am honest so I will explain lack of stars. The place is really dirty and that goes for the inside and outside. Garbage everywhere on the grass. They are always out of supplies in this office and the staff is just plain mean and useless. I'll start off with this: I'm writing this review in hopes of finally receiving the promised response I've been waiting for now for months regarding multiple cases with this post office. Ever since we moved and this office became our "local office," we rarely even receive mail. We have a new postal worker almost every week, and I have never met such awful people before. I've tried to nicely talk to them in person about the issues we've had (which I will detail below), and they either outright ignore me, put in headphones and place a phone call, or literally cuss me out in front of my child. I'm not kidding. All of this is over me simply and kindly asking, "Hey, do you know where my mail is and when it will be delivered?" So here is the large list of issues we have had over the last few months: 1) We go days, sometimes a full week, without mail delivery. I've missed getting many important documents and packages on time due to this. 2) The carrier lies and says our mail is "undeliverable." They either say that there was "animal interference" when we don't have any pets, say "delivery attempted, mail room inaccessible" when it's always unlocked and even lit with security lighting, or "delivery attempted, signature needed, recipient not home" when I work from home and never leave on days when I'm expecting important mail. They simply don't want to deliver it, so they lie and mislabel the reason. 3) The carriers are incredibly rude. We are the type of family that leaves out presents for our postal workers on holidays. They are the type of carriers who refuse to have a conversation with me about missing mail and curse in front of my small child. 4) We've has multiple packages stolen. They are not being stolen from our mail room, as we have security cameras there. The packages are marked as "delivered," but they never arrive. 5) When we do receive mail, we often get mail from blocks away. I can almost guarantee that our mailbox will have at least 5 items meant for a different address during any given week (when the mail actually is delivered, which is rare). My husband and I go out on foot and redeliver the mail to our neighbors. We often see neighbors out doing the same thing, so this is happening to everyone in the neighborhood. 6) When mail does arrive, the postal worker often doesn't even bother to put it in our mailbox. They just throw the mail onto the floor. Not in a nice pile, literally scattered all over the floor. I'm not kidding. 7) I now have 8 open cases about missing mail/ packages with this post office. I haven't received a single follow up call about any of them. This post office simply doesn't care about their customers. I'll end on this note: I know the job of the post office and post delivery folks is a hard one. It's long hours with little thanks. I appreciate the work they must do (even though we never see it on our end), and I appreciate that they continue to operate as an essential service during these scary times. However, being a postal worker is a customer service position. Part of the job is actually delivering mail and speaking with the clients you serve. We will continue to leave out holiday gifts for them, but it's beginning to feel like we would be better off saying "goodbye" to the USPS and relying of a different mail service. read more

Asked her politely to help me with packing medium package(I didn't know how it worked, never shipped before) , she just ignored me(was not busy with people at that time). Fahmina assisted me in delivering a package and was quick, informative, and kind. Post offices usually have a bad rep because of such bad customer service but Fahmina was so nice and patient I felt it was my duty to leave a review. I've alctually never had a good experience in a post office so this was shocking. Finally someone nice who actually has good communication skills! If I could zero stars I would. The is run by the laziest group of incompetent management I have ever experienced. It's clearly a systemic problem as it's very clear they have little fear of repercussions or job loss from their actions. During the pandemic the management can't even bother to wear masks. Miss Pink and Michael Ross and now a Miss Anderson which I suspect is a fake name Miss Pink is now using as she suspiciously sounds just like Miss Pink and when asked her name she said Miss Pah.......Anderson. are completely inept, lazy and should be fired. The union needs to stop protecting these worthless workers. I am lucky to get mail twice a month. They routinely scan packages delivered that haven't been to cover their own ass so that it seems they are delivering on time. They were being scanned as delivered at 7,8,9 at night which was clear was a lie. Then when people started to pick up on this and use that as proof of the fraudulent practice they are now back scanning to an earlier time of the day. Which I caught when I checked on the status of a package at 5:45 in the evening and it hadn't been delivered yet and had checked the mail around the same time. Then the next day it showed delivered at 3:30 the day before. They are a disgrace and honestly the entire branch should be over hauled except for maybe a handful of people. The management routinely won't come to the phone, return calls, will leave you on hold and never come back, not follow up after they have promised to call you back. Any other industry they would be out on their ear. If they can't get this branch to work efficiently and competently then maybe it just needs to be shuttered. read more

I have had several missing packages, and have called them several times regarding this, every time I speak to a different person and when I ask to speak to a manager, they all lie and say they are the manager. If that's the case, than this office has 8 different managers, which we all know isn't true. Living in West Rogers Park the last 6 years, I have had my share of pain from this poorly run schlock house. First off let me say all these reviews have no idea what real pain is, they just have been complaining about the location. I on the other hand have to live with the worst mail delivery in the area everyday. I have had more problems here in six years, then in ANY other location in my life. I'm 51 so I have had a few places I have lived. This post office lies, steals and looses things on a regular basis. Every time the carrier is sick replaced , my mail route goes to hell for weeks. And the turnover here is high as you can imagine. If you call on the phone, to find out what the hell is going on, they lie to you. I seriously want to move because of them, never having to deal with again, would make me very happy. Why is it so hard to find decent people to work at a post? Edit: 3/11/2016 I'm giving them a star back, because today they went out of their way to help me out. It's not all bad I guess. Through no fault of this post office, my priority mail package from Puerto Rico was sent to the wrong post office. After me calling enough times, I'm sure the Supervisor Ross is sick of me. The extra star is for how easy it always is to get free street parking right in front. This place is the pits. I've been in Atlanta for awhile selling much on eBay, and once I got home and remembered my local post office, I actually reconsidered selling anything here. There is ALWAYS a line at this post office, because there are usually only two or three people at the counters and all of them seem to take a certain amount of relish in moving as slowly as possible. They're more often surly than friendly, the atmosphere is usually dim even if it's sunny outside, and they're almost always out of Priority boxes (flat rate and otherwise). How do you OPERATE like this? An additional demerit for the way the place is set up, with a line going down the middle of the post office and terminating perpendicular to the curved set of counters, where a worker will light up their station when they are available to beckon you forth. The whole thing feels a lot like it was built for intimidation of the customer, to make you grateful that the almighty postal workers will see you now. I always very much expect a little fellow in a furry green outfit to be guarding the entrance to the counters with a little green staff. "Nobody gets in to see the Postal Workers, not nobody, not no how!" (FYI, you don't see many legitimate businesses with 1.5 star ratings on Yelp, because those that would either shape up fast or end up closing.
