I like that they have hours until 4:00 pm on Saturday. They get a big walk-in business as I think people are smart enough to make sure they don't drop things in corner mail boxes any more. I quite often come there early mornings and there are some people who are very helpful and friendly!

This location always closes at 6pm when most people get off work and leave us no choice but making special arrangements and take PTO to just come here and pick up the packages their staff did not know where to put even though it says my name, address and apartment number on my package. They are also always under staffed, there is a long line always , even at 7:30AM in the morning due to only have one person working at that time. read more

They are supposed to have lobby hours open until 7 - but 3 times the past 2 weeks the doors were locked 6:45-6:55pm and I couldn't scan and drop a package. If you're not going to keep the doors open until 7 then change your official hours. read more

Irene the passport agent is rude, disrespectful and very unhelpful. Even with an appt she still not helpful. I don't know where they find these people. She thinks she is supervisor of the office and even talks back to all the employees and supervisor. The supervisor told her to be courteous and she said no. I stopped by this location one day on the way to an appointment to mail off some books. There was quite a line so I decided to use one of the self service kiosks. Unfortunately one was having issues and unable to process any transactions, so I wound up at another one and managed to get my shipping label created. I went up to the main counter to check with an employee if the label was correct and if everything was set and she confirmed it was good. A few days later my friends received the package so it appears all went well. The interior of this location has seen better days. It's not super dirty but the shelves were all rather empty. The lighting was also rather dark in some areas. Perhaps the best term to use for this would be "no frills". I had an okay experience at this post office, but they definitely have room for improvement. read more

Radio City Station. This U.S. Post Office sits in the Theater District intersecting 9th Avenue and 8th Avenues at West 52nd Street of Midtown West. Currently this location is undergoing "unexpected maintenance issue" for derelict appearance which appears disheveled. There are two (2) postal clerks behind the counter working robotically and methodically past exhaustion. It is also a shipping center for sending and receiving packages. This post office location appears rather modern of a retail environment, but not traditional booth narrow counter glass window with a curved bank slot to slip cash or letters. I always prefer the traditional booth narrow counter glass window with a curved bank slot to slip cash or transactions for its history and charm. This counter glass window also serves as safety and security for postal employees in prevention of thief and thwart assailants/perpetrators from "going postal." With two (2) postal clerks there is a long queue of anxious and eager customers waiting to be serviced. Both postal clerks appear dispirited, disgruntled and very burnt out. I was able to attain a postal money order and certified mail without intransigent to be contentious. It was an accomplished and productive visit. read more

Some of the employees at this office probably work here because they couldn't survive a day in corporate America. Most of my experiences at this office have been negative. Recently, the office did not redeliver my package, despite my request I submitted on *their website, and then a ticket I submitted asking for redelivery when they missed my redelivery date. After a supervisor responded saying they would redeliver the following day, there was still no action and I only figured out what happened when I went in to pick up a package and it was still there. Irene at the front desk assumed no responsibility for what happened, claiming she does not know or is responsible for any of this. This careless attitude has been shown on several occasions in the past as well by other employees. read more

Went to the counter to send an international express flat rate package. Irene who works here is delightful and really efficient. She was friendly and competent / detail-oriented and I noticed she continued to serve other customers with the same aplomb while I stepped aside to fill in my customs form. Maintenance is over. Service by supervisor is really inappropriate. The clerk was mailing my two boxes fine I was confused about the options she gave me (several times) and I finally figured out my option. She was very nice about and lent me her marker. Her supervisor Claris Drake I believe came over to ask what was going on. She said I was very noisy. And I was disrupting the lobby. There was only one window open. She proceeded to describe my remarks as Nasty three times. I asked her not to name call as thats what children do -she kept on going. Meanwhile I had asked Claris whats the problemthe clerk is doing great. I said she hasnt done anything wrong. She continued to call me nasty as the clerk tried to describe what happenedAnd the clerk described the situation as I did. She then tried to get the line involved in yelling at me. Despite the bad reviews, this is actually a productive post office. When I went to mail a letter, there was a staff member directing people in the line, by doing that it helped reduce the time each person spent at the counter. For example, people trying to do ups returns at usps, or people who didn't have the address properly written on their package or were in the wrong line. Just little things like that waste the people at the counter's time and everyone else in line. I was in and out in less than 5mins! Please keep filtering the line! read more

Write the post master general. This post office is awful. Packages are not delivered, packages are send back with out notice. The supervisor will not listen to your concerns. I know this sounds bad but some of the employees can not speak English. Don't they have a English test before they are hired? I support immigrants finding work but the post office deals with language and one should have competent language skills it to do this job. read more

This is a review of the service provided by the automated machines. What a pleasure to have machines that offer good service in a federal government facility! You walk up and press a few buttons, they take your money and then viola, you get a label you stick on a box, then you bring the box to the self-serve drop box for prepaid packages and then you are on your way. In and Out in 5 minutes!! Yay!! Now, don't get involved with an actual live person there. You will be severely disappointed. The wait is unbelievable, people standing in line look miserable. while visiting a client in manhattans hells kitchen i notice a post office on my way back to the office and i do need stamps and shipping forms. what i first notice is the semi long line with customers , what i notice was only one grim looking postal clerk is working , what i notice is the self service machines that no one is useing , what i notice is me moving quickly to use the self service machine.lets be fair for a usps joint , they keep the place clean and well stocked with shipping labels and flat rate boxes and i also notice a supervisor on call helping a customer. glad i was able to get my stamps without waiting on line or dealing with sourpuss face postal clerk. with online postal services available, going to the post office is really not that necessary anymore but sometimes it is and i prefer my visit yo be quick and void of conflict. read more

UPDATE: On two separate occasions the lobby was not open despite the sign saying 6am. I almost never go to the post office during the day and usually go before they open to drop off my packages. The two most recent times I visited this post office the main set of doors were locked with no sign of anyone on the other side. My favorite post office in the area. I live by Columbus circle PO but walk here instead. I mostly ship prepaid packages and this location is open on Saturday until 4:30pm, with plenty of drop boxes for you to be in and out without waiting on line. When I drop off packages here, they always start tracking rather quickly. I love knowing this location is efficient in scanning in all of their mail, without too many falling through the cracks and not getting scanned (which happens at other locations). The few times I've had to wait on line, there was an expediter who walked through helping to direct people and answer their questions. Me impressed. ;) read more

ALL USPS stores have been affected by our "economy" and this one is not exception... For a long time now they are operating with a short staff at the counter and they have only 1 APC machine that some times is broken.... I feel like this USPS does a solid job of getting the line moving quickly. Anytime I've been here, someone comes through the line, checking to see if they can help with anything which is always helpful. Today there was an woman named Y. Yang was there helping speed things along which got about 4-5 people in and out in no time. Liz is also more than helpful and today when I couldn't get the customer service I needed from someone else at the desk, she came to my rescue. For no reason at all, customers seem to behave rudely when they walk through the doors of any USPS so my advice to people would be....a little kindness goes along way! read more

An employee named SHANTAL lunged over the counter screaming like a maniac when I came in the ask her if she could search for my missing package that I personally handed to her 13 days before. A manager had to come hold her back. I am baffled by the incompetency, How can a package that was paid for and handed to by the same employee miraculously go missing and never be scanned in the system as "received by usps"? I work within a stone's distance from this post office. Compared to the other ones I have been to, this location is a bit chaotic and messy. Occasionally, they do have someone who filters through the line and redirects them to the correct place, but more often than not the line wraps around and there is only 2 working agents. Several times, I went to drop off a package and I was told conflicting information between agents and the information posted online. If there was other post offices, I would avoid this location like the plague. read more

UNBELIEVABLE! I arrived at 10:45 AM to await opening of the passport window at 11 AM. I was first in line and took a seat. At 10:55 one of the clerks told another passport customer that the clerk for the passport window was upstairs and would be down to open up in a few minutes. At 11:25 AM, I saw this same clerk leave his counter, walk through the back door and then return a few moments later to inform me and the other waiting customers that the passport clerk decided to take her lunch break and would not be back until noon. I experienced the best of NYC's Christmas humanity in this post office of all places after a whole month here. I returned to the apartment after sending a huge box back home through this post office when I realized I had packed my passport in one of the folders. I ran back in panic knowing I'd be stuck in cold NYC for Christmas without my family if I didn't get it back ASAP. Several very kind employees rushed to find my box with my receipt and helped me open and retrieve the passport and close up my box. They showed genuine concern and no hint of judgement for my stupidity and even refuse my feeble attempt to offer some sort of remuneration. Thank you so very much and Merry Christmas. Ok yeah it's a post office. But it's big! The main reason I decided to review this station is because I applied for my passport today. After hearing all the horror stories of waiting in line for ages and getting hassled just to submit your application, I was really worried. 15 minutes total. Only one person in the passport line in front of me. Got my picture taken, showed him all my documents, paid, and I was on my way. Fill out your application ahead of time and it will take you less time. The guy working the passport window was a doll. He was nice and sweet and not at all your typical grumpy postal worker. They deliver letters and small parcels (that fit in your mailbox). The staff inside has been helpful when I have had to mail something. There is also a kiosk where you can prepare a package/etc. for deliver yourself. But they will flat out not deliver packages that don't fit in your mailbox. They will not ring. The last few months they have even stopped leaving notifications so you don't even know that there is a package waiting for you. If you don't have a doorman building, etc. encourage people to send packages via commercial services. At least UPS and FedEx will let you know when they have something waiting for you! read more

Literally thee worst post office experience of my life. It all started 6/2/2017, I went to the old Chelsea station to send my clients very time sensitive mail, certified. I don't hear from my clients until 6/15 so I assume the call is in regards to receiving the mail I sent them. They called to say they never received anything, not even a notice....strange, good thing I sent it certified because it has tracking. I track the item and it's being held at the local post office in my clients neighborhood, which one?? There's three in the area. If I call the toll free number someone must be able to track this envelope right?? 1000% Wrong. The hold time just to speak to a person and not a machine is over an hour, so I opt for the call back option which takes more than an hour, but finally someone to help. Hello USPS rep, here's my tracking, here's the person it's going to, and where it's coming from. Rep-oh, a notice was left for this person and they never went to pick up the mail. Sir, my clients said no notice was left and when I went online to schedule a redelivery I was shown a continuous error to deliver. Rep-Oh I also see the address doesn't exist on my end....what???? It's 2017 in a major city on the island of Manhattan, how is that even possible?? Rep-No worries I'll override the error, schedule a redelivery, put in a claim for your money, and open a case to investigate why the address is not in our system, GREAT!! Tuesday 6/20/2017 my clients contact me again, still no mail Okay no problem I'll call USPS back. Rep-I see you scheduled a delivery for...insert wrong address...NO NO NO NO NO NO. The correct address is XYZ. Rep-No Worries, I can schedule a redeliv.....NO NO NO NO NO No redelivery if you couldn't get it right a first or second time I'm suppose to have faith there will be a third??? Is been almost a MONTH. Where is the envelope?? Radio City USPS what kind of stupid name is that? Unimportant I'll go and pick it up myself. Fast forward to the end of the day, I arrive an hour before they close. USPS worker-need help? Yes I'm here for pick-up. Great, let me see your receipt and I'll be back. Comes back ten mins later....okay good news and bad news.....WHAT IN TOTAL INSERT CURSE WORD IS WITH YOU GUYS!? Bad news?? I don't wanna hear any bad news you have ma'am, my envelope is in your hand and I need it. I can't give it to you, you're not the receiver on the envelope. Me-but I am the sender. Postal worker-yea but that's against USPS.... Me-cuts off her sentence, I don't give a rats INSERT CUSS WORD what policies, guidelines, rules, procedures, ANYTHING you're about to say, give me that envelope or get your manager. Long story short I chew the manager out for another 20-30 mins before she hands over the envelope in disgust in exchange for my business card. I had mail to send out and you couldn't pay ME to use that post office. You get what you pay for, no wonder they're losing tons of business to UPS and FedEx. I liked this post office. I lived next door, so it was super-handy. But beyond that: it's large and spacious, well lit and clean, and the lines actually move. I've docked one star because the package pickup window may actually be a portal into a black hole, from which your package retrieval slip and the person who took it may never return. read more

I'm only writing this because I have had issues all six times I've been to this place. Yeah, the first five I just let go, but I can't stand that this is my local post office.
