Terrible experience with this post office. We had a package that required a signature delivered to our apartment. The worker called us, the call dropped because of technical issues, and we got to the mail room five minutes later--he was already gone. We tried calling the post office over and over with no answer. Another worker on the route told us we'd be able to pick up the package at the post office, so we went there, only to be told we couldn't get it until the next day. If you're delivering to a large apartment building with a mail room, you should understand it takes people a moment to get there. The post office stinks in SC, especially Myrtle beach. I have mailed 3 packages that were lost. Most recently my mothers medications that were mailed with a 3 day limit and it was sent to CA instead of PA. HOW does that happen. of course you cant talk to a human on the phone to get any answers. Go to the post office and they say oh the tracking number is wrong. HOW you provided it to me on a receipt. USELESS POST OFFICE. From now on i will use UPS or FEDEX since they know how to mail things that actually make it to its destination. read more

I went to ship out a letter priority mail. When the lady suggested about stamps I specifically asked for $3.00 in stamps. By the end of my purchase I ended up spending $40.00 with shipping out West priority and paying for two books of stamps. When I asked the lady, "Where is the $3.00 charge for stamps?" She replied, "Oh, you said you wanted 3 books of stamps. Sorry! I miss heard you. They're NONE REFUNDABLE." Apparently, the office workers are either deaf or don't speak English. Very frustrating experience with this post office. Had Amazon packages delivered by USPS put in parcel locker with key in mailbox that I didn't have a key for. Paid for a lock change which should have happened on a Thursday. Didn't happen. when I went back on Friday, I was told lock change would happen on Saturday morning because the guy changing the lock called in sick on Thursday. That didn't happen either. But what DID happen was that another package delivered by Amazon was left in the mailbox! Now three packages are held hostage! I came In there as a homeowner to get a mailbox key for my townhouse and was denied by a young black lady that works there .My townhouse is vacant because I live with my husband but I still receive mail there.She refused to take documentation from my phone (such as mortgage statement ) that I was able to use at the same location in the past,she did not want to look at my ID to verify the address ,she simply did not want to help and treated me with disrespect .I will no longer be going to this post office . read more

Probably the worst Post Office experience I've ever had. Purchased Condo and needed to get the post box keyed. 35 days have gone by without this being done and now have bills overdue. All the post office says is that the carrier has it and will complete it when she has time. What a waste of money and time chasing this down. read more

Younger black girl with fake lashes and ridiculously long nails is so nasty to every customer and seems to enjoy berating and belittling them if they have a question or their package is not properly put together. This is the best post office experience I've had in my entire life. Customer Service was excellent! It was entertaining, everyone standing in line had smiles on their face because of a guy that was being helpful and funny at the same time, I later found out .. he was the POSTMASTER! I have never left a review before, but after this experience, I can't leave it unnoticed. The worst experience I have ever had. I just moved to Myrtle Beach and I don't have access to my mailbox where I'm living. I have been trying to get a PO Box. We purchased one through the website and printed off a paper that we were told to bring back to the post office. I brought it in, and I was originally being helped by a friendly man named Woody. The form I had wasn't what they needed, so he had me fill out the form. They needed two forms of ID, one photograph, the other had to be either Vehicle Insurance, Vehicle Registration, or Lease Agreement. I grabbed my insurance, registration, and license. Woody finalized everything, gave me my keys, and as I was about to leave, a woman working was very condescending and doubted him. She asked about the identification, and he said he checked them, and I told her as well that he checked them and wrote the information down. She then requested to see the information. I showed her, and because Utah isn't like South Carolina and lists an address on registration and insurance, she said she wouldn't take it. We are renting an air-bnb, so we don't have a lease agreement. I said I could show bank statements, etc., showing proof of address and she wouldn't work at all with me. She was VERY rude in her tone and took the keys away from me and made me tear up. She then ripped the papers out of my hand that I had and took them to take copies. This is when I started to cry because I thought it was all figured out and she was being extremely rude. Woody followed her and he came back and told me if I could get the person we were staying at to write something showing we are here, she would accept that. He was very kind. I left, and when we came back, she didn't greet us, apologize, or have any manners. She simply took the paperwork, processed it, gave us the keys, and we left. She didn't have a name tag on, but I would NOT recommend this place. Unless you talk to Woody, he was the only kind individual in this post office. read more

The manager there is rude. Arrived a minute before closing and he was already locking the door. Time sensitive mail and he could care less... he threw the wrong documents I needed for my package that had to be send today and told me to use the machine in the lobby. I pleaded with him that it took 30 minutes to get there... he could care less. Since he gets a free day off tomorrow you would think he'd be human and allow us in with the envelope... nope... I hope if he needs a Dr at the end of the day... they give him the same treatment.... typically government worker. My envelope will have to wait till Thursday and I will go elsewhere. I've never had a good experience at this post office.... next time I'll travel further to get some decent customer service. read more

Only TRACKING, CASE or RE DELIVERY, which wasn't even offered!! Are you serious? Did they never listen to their own HELP line? NO ONE EVER answers the phones at the Local Post Offices! No matter what day or time I call it just rings and rings and then hangs up. Could someone in the POSTAL OFFICES listen to your 1-800 number and make the corrections? Nick, the bald guy that is short, has poor communication skills. A public service job does not seem to fit his personality at all. It doesn't seem like he knows how to interact with human beings. Either that, or he knows how, but doesn't value them enough to treat them like they have any value. I've seen him at the post office for years. I try to be as friendly as possibly with him, but It usually feels like I'm being a huge burden to him, even for some basic things. It's hit or miss with him, but I can rarely just feel comfortable doing any transaction with him. I feel like I need to rush with him, and it is hard to concentrate. And if I mess up on something, or need something extra, I expect some sort of expression of frustration from him when I let him know. I understand that the job, after all those years, can be very mind numbing, and having to deal with all the complaints of customers can be incredibly frustrating, but there should be some basic human respect. I shouldn't feel like I'm asking him to jump off a bridge when I ask him to fill something out for me. No one has to love their job, or be in a great mood all the time, but a simple "please" and "thank you" can go a long way. Humans aren't beasts. We are made in the image of God. read more

I'm currently waiting for a small parcel that is now sitting in Lexington, KY AFTER it went to the 29577 PO. I simply moved from this post office in Myrtle Beach to another zip code 29588 Myrtle Beach giving the USPS a change of address notification before I moved. I get this email from Amazon: "Sorry we missed you. USPS tried to deliver your package today but didn't want to leave it unattended. *(Responsible, yes)* Please look for a notice of attempted delivery or contact USPS for the next steps." *(that was a joke)* In all fairness, I've never had an issue with the staff at the desk in the ten years I've been with that Office. They've always been pleasant and efficient. (Thus 3 stars) It's what goes on behind that scenes that I'm writing about. Start from bottom and see how these clowns operate out of this office. I'm sure this "package" is either in an envelope or a small box. I can only say, I'm happy it isn't medication. Just about every interaction with this specific post office has been negative. Absolutely no confidence in their ability to perform. They screw up my regular mail. I have Informed Delivery and mail I'm supposed to receive doesn't get delivered. My experience with their Hold and Forwarding services a complete nightmare. They deliver some and God knows what happens to the rest even if it is important. I don't know who is managing this office but they should definitely think of getting new management. Mr. James has been my mail man for a while now and i just wanna share with u how amazing this man is ! I live in a rough areas where packages can't be left on the door step ! If Mr. James doesn't see my car he knows I'm not home and and doesn't leave my packages on my door step but with my neighbors instead or sometimes he'll just deliver the next day. He waves to me passing by in the neighborhood and is always friendly ! Today is Sunday and i heard a knock on my door , it was Mr. James delivering one of my daughters Christmas gifts that I had ordered last minute and worried it wouldn't be here on time. I asked him why in the world was he at work on a Sunday and his response? "It's almost Christmas, gotta get these packages out!" This man is an angel and one of the most genuine people I've ever met! Nick is the worst person I've ever had to deal with in a Post Office. He is unhelpful, rude, and actually lies to the customers. In the few years I've lived here, I hate going to this one. Today I had to go to this one for my passport. Nick grunted and said "what do you need" and then walked in the back before I could answer Luckily I didn't end up with him and I did end up with the nicest person I've ever dealt with here! Lee was an amazingly sweet lady and helped me get everything ready with my passport. Nick on the other hand told another person who needed a passport that he wouldn't help them unless they had an appointment. Granted, they still needed to have their pics taken and he told them to go get that first, but he told them not to come back here to submit his application and to go somewhere else since he didn't have an appointment. Nick needs to find a job that doesn't involve customer service and Lee needs a big pat on the back! read more
