Employee behind the counter (male bald) guy was rude and condescending. Need to improve your customer service skills.

Is the door open to drop off mail even tho they are closed for services on sundays?

The Morgan Hill front lobby door is usually open 24/7 to allow PO boxholders access to their mailboxes anytime. There is also postage vending and package weigh/sizer machine to dispense postage.…

I would like to provide detailed feedback regarding a recent experience at PostalAnnex, as what…read moreshould have been a simple drop-off turned into nearly two weeks of confusion, rerouting, and unnecessary frustration. On the same day, I brought in two items: 1. A return package intended for the merchant recipient 2. Another package intended for Amazon Both items were dropped off, scanned, and accepted at PostalAnnex. However, both were mishandled: * The return package meant for the merchant recipient was incorrectly delivered to Amazon. * The package intended for Amazon was somehow delivered back to my home instead of to Amazon. These were two separate items, dropped off at the same time, and both ended up at completely wrong destinations, something that should never happen. What made the situation significantly worse was the complete lack of support from PostalAnnex once the issue surfaced. When I contacted Sanjay, I was not offered any assistance, investigation, or sense of accountability. Instead, he immediately distanced himself from the situation and sent me the following message: "The drop off service is offered as a courtesy to our customer. The packages are handed off to the respective carriers. Please file a claim online at usps.com. We do not insure the drop off package's contents or value. The receipt itself has the terms and conditions." -- Sanjay This response was dismissive, particularly considering that both items were scanned and accepted at PostalAnnex, a step customers trust precisely because it is supposed to ensure accuracy and responsibility. When I spoke with USPS, I was told the matter needed to be addressed by PostalAnnex, since that is where the items were physically processed. Yet PostalAnnex declined to assist in any way, leaving me stuck between two parties, each redirecting me to the other, with no ownership taken by the location that actually handled the drop-off. The only support I received throughout this ordeal was from the customer service representative at the merchant recipient, who had no obligation to help but still guided me through the situation and helped ensure a resolution. What should have been a quick, routine drop-off turned into a lengthy, stressful, and avoidable two-week ordeal. I want to highlight one important caution for other customers: PostalAnnex's receipt contains terms and conditions stating they do not insure or take responsibility for drop-off items. Most customers likely overlook this, but based on my experience, it is something everyone should read and understand before trusting this location with packages that matter. I genuinely hope PostalAnnex takes this feedback seriously and improves accountability, training, and overall support, especially when errors clearly originate at the drop-off point.

However, I learned that it was a Postal Annex store and did not charge FedEx prices (or even close in my case). I copied my papers and prepared to send them by FedEx. Clerk Caroline correctly put my two mailings in two separate FedEx envelopes (going to the East Coast). She told me that the charges would be $69.44 for each. I told her that I had sent similar mailings by FedEx and been charged $10. She said that she hadn't hear of any $10 FedEx mailing charge and maintained the $69.44 charges must be paid. She offered to return my mailings but I needed to have them sent that day (August 27, 2023), as Caroline knew from our earlier conversation. I paid the total charges ($138.88) and left the store. The next day, I phoned the store in order to dispute the excessive charges with the manager, I called 3X getting no answer each time. I then called Postal Annex customer service in Denver. I was told (by Jeri) that each Postal Annex store is independently operated and has no limit on their charges. Jeri called the Fremont store and told me that no adjustment to my charges would be made. I am informed that FedEx currently charges $10.95 for the mailings such as mine (even shipping to the East Coast, as in my case). I made a letter complaint to Postal Express headquarters but there was no reply. Apparently, it is OK for Postal Express stores to rip off customers.

The best UPS store around!…read more Where do I start? Tania Lal, the owner, is one of the most service-oriented professionals I have worked with. She has gone above and beyond over and over again in the past year that we've been working with her. We found her through a Yelp printing request on a fast turnaround project. She delivered a stellar product with expedited and delightful service. She earned our business and we have since handed over all of or printing needs. We had one issue where one of her outside vendors got the specs wrong and she immediately corrected the error and had the reprint done. I cannot recommend this store highly enough.

When staff can't do something, they often respond with an attitude instead of explaining or offering an alternative. On October 7, I arrived right at 7 p.m. closing while another customer was still being helped. The employee was reluctant to take my return. She did eventually process it, but with a dismissive attitude. I've also been charged extra to have tape put on packages, and when I asked about the charge, staff were unfriendly about explaining it. I called the owner, Tania, to share my concerns. Instead of trying to fix anything, she told me I'm "welcome to any of the 100s of UPS stores in the area" and said there was nothing she could do. That response says a lot about how this store treats loyal customers. I'll be taking my business to another location. Thank you for responding, Tania. I appreciate the apology, but your written reply is very different from the tone you used on the phone. During our call, you were aggressive and rude. Instead of listening, you questioned my experience by demanding exactly who, when, and what dates, as if three years of mistreatment didn't count unless I had kept a log. That's why I said I don't keep track. As a customer, I shouldn't have to document every interaction to be taken seriously. It made me feel like I was being told my experience didn't happen. I called because after three years as a regular customer, I wanted to give the store a chance to make things right. Being told I'm welcome at any of the other stores, with no offer to address the problem, felt like the conversation was over before it started. My concern isn't about singling out one employee. It's a consistent pattern. Staff respond with attitude when they can't do something, the 7 p.m. return on October 7 was handled reluctantly while another customer was still being served, and questions about the tape charge got condescending answers. If you're truly working on improvements, clearly posting the tape fees and making sure staff explain policies respectfully would be a great start. I hope future customers are treated better than I was. Owner reply: Hi Jose, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to speak with me directly, and I would like to clarify that I did acknowledge your concerns and expressed my understanding of your frustration. I also assured you that I would address these issues with my staff, which I have already done. I would further like to address, that some of these coments here were not brought to my attention. When you mentioned that you had been unhappy with our service for three years and no longer wished to return, I simply explained that you were welcome to visit any of the other UPS Store locations in the area. This was not meant to be dismissive, but rather to respect your decision and offer an alternative. I also asked you if it was 1 particular employee or many and you responded - " I am not pety and I don't keep track" While I cannot change your past experiences, I can take your feedback seriously and work toward improving our service. I am sorry our conversation left you with a different impression, as that was never my intention. Tania Owner, The UPS Store

A few days ago I was heading out my door and heard a honking. I opened the door and there was a postal truck with a guy getting out. It was later in the day. He approached me with a package for someone in my home. He told me that the package had just come in and he wanted to get it to us. He proceeded to tell me his staff had all left for the day so he thought he would do it himself. Wait?!?! Whaaaaat?!?! Your staff all went home and you drove all the way to our house to deliver this package after hours. Whoa! Who does something this awesome in this day and age? We rarely see this level of service anywhere... I asked him his name and he said it is Lamson. Lamson is the postmaster of the San Martin Post Office and this guy deserves to be recognized not only for his high standard of care for people in the community, but his dedication to his job and his high bar of excellence.I thanked him sincerely just blown away that he did this I was so blown away that I went to the Post Office the next day to thank him again and I also feel the necessity to recognize him publicly for who he is to our community. Please remember to thank this person when you stop in the San Martin Post Office. People in his position are always hearing complaints and are dealing with angry customers... especially at the Post Office. This guy needs to hear appreciation from the community for going the extra mile. I am quite sure we aren't the first people to receive his kindness and we won't be the last. People need recognition. It helps to keep the flow of kindness going when we remember to thank someone for their service to everyone. The next person just might be you. Thank you Lamson! You are an asset to our USPS in San Martin and definitely to our community.
