Currently waiting to speak with a manager about my pending package delivery. It's supposed to be delivered 2 days ago. Been waiting for almost an hour for the manager. I've sacrificed my lunch time waiting her. I'm almost most likely sure it's the lady that came out dictating who should take their next break. Staff informed me that she was in a 'meeting' but when I arrived, she was causally walking around not doing anything. When there were customers that began to wait to talk to her, she disappears and is in a 'meeting'. Please replace her with someone more capable of helping customers with their problems instead of someone that runs away from doing their job. Did I just walk into the DMV? WTH? Line is longer than the iPhone 4S launch. Give yourself 5-10 minutes to park and another 15-20 minutes to wait in line. This is the Post Office so don't expect the employees to treat you like Nordstrom's. 1) Use the self-serve automated machine if possible. If you're techno-phobic then get your analog butt in line. 2) Listen to music while you wait. 3) Try to come earlier in the day if you want supplies for Priority or Express mail. 4) There's really no other Post Office location around here so try to show up at odd hours like 10:30, 2:30, 4:00, etc. read more

This is definitely one of the busiest post offices in the area. The super slow lines have nothing to do with the staff (who seem to always work fast), but moreso, just the folks who visit this location. They now have a self-serving postage/shipping machine for those who just want to get in and out within a few minutes. You pretty much just need to take measurements (available at the machine), weigh it, and pay for it at the machine, then drop it in the mail slot. But, keep in mind, the machine ONLY takes CC/ATM cards. I tried using this method, but only had cash on me... boo. Parking is also very limited, so good luck! read more

I've always come to this post office to send off my packages, I liked the post office better fedex sometimes. Today, I went to drop off my package and wanted a receipt for it. The first lady I went up to told me I had to change my box because it had wording on it, I was like okay. I went to get a box and was about to buy it. When I went to a different lady at the counter, she told me I didn't need to get another box, just cross out the words, and change the tape to clear tape. Lady A and Lady B told me two different things, Lady B helped me crossed out the words and told me to change the tape, and be I'll be fine. After changing the tape, I just dropped it off at the drop box, didn't even bother getting that receipt anymore. So annoying, making me walk back and forth/lining up again. read more

the post office is a necessary evil. when i was in shanghai, my memory card (sdhc) for my camera quit on me. after getting a rma number from adata, i went to the post office to mail the card back for replacement. i needed to track the package, so i requested a delivery confirmation for my envelope. the post office woman said i couldn't use delivery confirmation with regular mail, but could use certified mail. my envelope which was going from monterey park, ca to a post office box in rowland heights, ca (less than 15 miles away) would cost me $0.44 for the stamp plus $2.80 for certified mail, so $3.24 total. i think it would cost me a lot less if they allowed delivery confirmation with all envelopes. well, i guess the postal service has a lot of postal workers to pay, so they set their policies accordingly. xie xie! read more

I don't mail things often. Back in college, we had a mail center that handled most of the things for me. Now whenever I mail anything that I know requires more than a stamp, I have to go to the post office and this one is nearest to me. Since I work full-time now, I can only go on a Saturday and dang...the line is long...Luckily I have a smartphone so that kept me entertained. The line is long, but the wait isn't terribly too bad...I got out in about 30 minutes...and that included about 7 minutes, having to fill out a customs form. The staff helping me sounded rude, but she was helpful. I need to find another post office. read more

It was barely 8:30AM and the post office just opened but the representative already had extremely rude and disrespectful attitude! She threw the pen at me, wasn't even listening to my questions and answers, and kept interrupting me when I tried to explain my situation. I don't understand why they make it so hard to ship a damn package every-time I go here. I'm so frustrated I'm finally going to write a review about this place. First. they always open late, they are supposed to open at 8:30 AM and open between 8:33 and 8:36 AM. I've never actually seen them open on time. I am lucky when I just need to drop off a package and not interact with any employees, they always seem frustrated and rude, even in the morning. Today I tried to make my transaction as easy and possible for the employee, I printed out my ship to address and return address before hand so it was neat and I could simply hand it to them to write it into their system. They made me get out of line to write the shipping address on the box. I got back inline after doing that and then they made me get get out again to write the return address. Once I finally got to the front again she told me I wrote it in the wrong spot after she literally pointed on the box where she wanted me to write it before having me get back out of line. She finally just let me write it really quickly in the correct spot. I then asked her for the cheapest shipping method several times including the first two times I walked up because I don't care for the package as it was a return. She still proceeded to break down all these shipping prices even with a huge line behind me after I clearly asked for whatever the cheapest was. Zero customer service at this location. I been waiting on a package to arrive, its been 3 weeks past the ETA of when it was supposed to arrive, and almost 3 weeks since the last update/scan on the tracking #. Its just stuck in some USPS location in another state with no update. I email USPS asking them what's taking so long. It takes a few days for them to respond to me and all they do is give me the last scan on shipment, which again just says its at some USPS location as of 3 weeks ago. Ok none of this location's fault so far. Here's where they come in. USPS' email also gives me a phone # to call (its this USPS location) if I have more questions. So I call like twice a day over the course of week during their open hours. They never pick up the phone, no option to leave voicemail. Finally I just leave it ringing for a while and somebody answers. I tell them problem, I'm told by a woman that I just have to keep waiting. I ask her can I at least get some ETA or status and that its been weeks since the tracking # updated. She's not even interested in taking the tracking #. She says wait a few more days and if I still don't get the package send another email to USPS. Why, because the last email I sent to them was so helpful? If I told you I already waited weeks, what's another few days supposed to do? Obviously she's not interested in helping and is trying to get somebody else deal with me, and the USPS website is doing the same. I had a passport appointment today at 3:30pm. I went in and showed my certificate if Naturalization along with interim driver license AND old DL with a hole punched in it because I had a legal name change. The clerk wasn't sure if they could accept it as a form of ID. Then came a supervisor on site named Cheryl who basically told me the same. If the interim ID didn't have the full legal effect, especially in conjunction with the previous DL, why would the DMV issue them? I am writing to the postmaster general and the MP postmaster. If Usps wants to be competitive, they have to start from the customer service. read more

I only go to this post office because it is close to my job, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Each time I have gone the parking is horrible, the lines are horrible, customer service is horrible! I waited in line while two families were getting their passport applications processed. Half of the counter staff was occupied helping the two families. The other two employees were older and were taking their time with the person they were currently attending while a long line started to form. The older woman who helped me was rude, she didn't say hello, and upon asking for stamps she didn't bother to show me the variety they have, she simply gave me the first one on the stack. Not to mention the phone rang endlessly and no one bothered to answer it, they didn't make any attempt to answer it. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere. read more

This place is BY FAR the BEST post office I've been to in a while!!!!! Despite the bad reviews from all these negative Nelly's, I ended up here after a bad time at the Alhambra usps, and let me just say I experienced two ends of the spectrum, this one being the best possible experience I could hope for. My appointment was 8:30 AM on October 23, and I was running a little late, so I arrived at about 8:36. There was a walk-in family that was being helped already, so I was asked if I had an appointment and for my name, then I was too to wait in the line, which was where all the PO Boxes were. I waited maybe 10 minutes before being called up, and I already had all my papers. I brought a copy of my drivers license, a copy of my birth certificate, my actual birth certificate, and a check. I also brought the forms filled out already. All of this was me doing my part to be prepared, which some of these reviewers should've done. I looked on the state website that had so many links and tools to speed the process at the post office along. So I was all prepared, I gave the woman my papers when she asked for them and she immediately started to check all my answers in the form, making sure it was all ok. She then said she'd sign me up for the bigger book book because it came with extra pages at no cost to me. I told her I needed a photo taken as well and she yelled over her shoulder to a man making copies that theres another person that needs a photo taken. Then she sent me to the woman standing next to her and gave her all my papers. The woman began to comb through my papers again, telling me to go take my picture while she checks everything. I took the picture in two minutes and came back to her scanning my papers and my ID and birth certificate. She caught a mistake I made and had me correct it right there, then she grabbed my picture from the printer and told me that since I had both an old passport and a copy of my birth certificate, I could send either one in, but if I send in my passport, the process would be faster because they wouldn't have to look up records to match my birth certificate. She put everything together, along with the check I brought because you can only pay the us department of state with checks or money order. I felt so good with this visit I even purchased some stamps (the new Disney Villains one), and I was done. So my appointment started at 8:30 but I got there at 8:36, I was called up at about 8:45, then I walked out of there at 8:56. Overall I had a GREAT experience here. The minute I walked in, the place was lively. The lights were bright, unlike the musty old feeling I got from the Alhambra usps. There were even halloween decorations up and the workers were not really cheer but professional and helpful. The women who helped me thoroughly checked my forms to look for human error, and I so appreciate this. I was surprised at how fast and effective this post office was. Of course, if you go to a place unprepared and looking for a bad experience, you're gonna get one. Do your research if you're gonna apply for a passport. This place was AWESOME and I spent even more money here because I felt happy and the place seemed friendly. read more

Dont even bother going here. The manager Sheryl is a racist and she treats you like crap, especially with asians. She yells at you, scold you and treat them like they dont speak english. I complained about my missing mail and she wouldn't hear me out. She kept on talking over me and said she would investigate, and I waited for weeks and she never called me. So WHY DID SHE ASK FOR MY NUMBER IN THE FIRST PLACE IF SHE WASNT GOING TO FOLLOW UP? makes no sense. To top it off, when I called Monterey Park Post Office she was like '' I have been busy. You're not the only person that has issues'' she was so inconsiderate , not understanding, rude, racist and humilitated me in front of other people like I do not understand English. I feel inclined to post a review about this post office because.... I hate it. This is more of a reflection of the type of customers you have to deal with- not so much the customer service you receive. This is the Worst (capital "W" required) post office ever. Why? Well, for starters the parking lot is terrible. Only a semi circle of slots with only a small amount of space to back out. Did the contractors know they were building this in Monterey Park- land of drivers who don't really know how to drive? The cliche can be true you know.... Some Asians can't drive... and I use this to my advantage- especially in areas I'm not familiar with so don't hate!! People think the area where the drop off mail boxes are meant to be a stopping zone. Please just drop your mail and get the heck outta my way! You will wait in line for days... Make sure you don't have any appointments after a visit here. And you wonder why you get a grumpy post office employee? Dealing with people who don't know how to mail things correctly and make the line even longer by arguing or asking a ton of questions. End rant. read more

After conveniently selling my school books online on amazon.com I hesitantly ship out my items at this nearby post office. I hate coming to this post office. It's teeny tiny and parking is a bitch to get since they only have about 8 parking stalls. Then, when you walk in it's always packed there's a long line proceeding through the PO Boxes location. They have 5 registers stationed yet they tend to only use 3/5. Service is slow and not too friendly either. The decor just brings you down too with it's drab colors and fluorescent lighting. Heck! It's looked the same since the 70's -- they got a plague on the wall that states it's from Jimmy Carter!! read more

I have to give this post office a review so they could improve. when you see a family walked in with passport form in their hand don't just ignore them and made them wait in line for almost an hour to tell them passport application hours has closed. This way they could go to other places that is still open ... to renew their passport on time. Worst living experience in Monterey Park, due to i keep missing my parcels and mails in my resident address. And yet the worst USPS Office in San Gabriel Valley, as I was instructed them more than 4 times to left note to me for all my incoming parcels and I will pick it up from their office, and they never do that for me as promised. This is unbelievable that some of my parcels were returned to seller due to USPS staff forgot to leave a note to me for pick up. Sometime, they were left a note to me for parcel pickup, but the parcel is not in USPS Office when I claim to pick up my parcel with note in my lunch time. Both Caucasian and Latino women supervisor always have so many excuse about their mistaken, and truly not helpful at all. This USPS Office just operate exactly as a family business style and don't care about customer service. This USPS Office make eCommerce truly a difficult experience if you reside in this city. Tracking number shows it was attempted delieved on Sep 6th, during that day, I was trying to go the office to check my package several times. they said there was no package. I sent a package via express mail and it was never received. "An attempt was made and a notice was left at the door" The recipient received NO notice. She checked her door, her mailbox, and even her apt office and she got nothing. I sent the package Friday, expecting her to get it Saturday regardless of whether or not she was home because I checked the WAIVER OF SIGNATURE option when i paid for the postage online. I've gone back and forth between calling USPS and going to the post office where I had my parcel sent and they keep telling to me to talk to the other person. No one has claimed responsibility. I've called FOUR times and been to the post office THREE. I've been told to call the Consumers Affairs Office and I did. TWICE and I've left two messages, albeit my first message, i didn't leave a call back number but I made sure to leave my number twice the second time. When I called and told them how every person I talk to tells me to speak to the other person, the lady on the phone tells me when I go there I should have the post office call them. I did just that and I was told the post office can't call them because the number they call won't talk to them. Ridiculous right? When I finally talk to the supervisor a second time (I've talked to a "supervisor" before, but it was a different person) on my third trip, I made sure to call USPS so they can speak to each other and I can relay the information between one another. They both tell me two different things. I've been told to request Form 3533. The supervisor tells me I cannot and he would not give it to me. He tells me I need to take care of it with them. The lady on the phone tells me I need to do this as the post office. The supervisor gets sick of this and asks for the phone. I give it to him and apparently, the lady on the phone hangs up on him. I ask the supervisor for the number where my package is currently located and he gets it and even tells me the office is located in Carmel Valley or something (in San Diego) and that he gave them a call himself, but got the answering machine. I thank him and call the number myself when I get home only instead of getting an answering machine, I get an automated voice message telling me the number is no longer in service or has been disconnected. I don't know what the freak is going on with USPS, but their representatives are acting like some shady sons of guns. I decide to call the number AGAIN and ask THEM for the number to see if the supervisor lied to me. Keep in mind each time I call i have to wait about 15 minutes and be on hold and deal with their voice message system before getting put through to a real person. This lady tells me the same things I've been told and gives me the same number the supervisor gave me, BUT she also gives me another Consumer Affairs Dept number (this one for San Diego where my package should be). I am currently on hold waiting to get to someone....again. My package contained fresh bread and a card for my girlfriend and her apartment-mates for finals week at UCSD. By now, the bread has probably gone stale and the package still has not been redelivered even though I scheduled a re-delivery and I was guaranteed a re-delivery on Dec. 11. Did my girlfriend get anything? No. I even made a special note to have it delivered to her apt office if nobody was home. I called the next day (today) to ask why it wasn't re-delivered and they CANNOT GUARANTEE a re-delivery if the recipient doesn't ask for it. Are you freaking kidding me? They never even left her a note for her to contact the post office carrying the package. And in addition to that this is FINALS week. For all you hard working college students reading this, I'm sure you understand how hard it is to find time to deal with shady Mailmen when you need to be studying. I schedule ANOTHER re-delivery, HOPING it'll get to her tomorrow. Finals week is halfway over and the parcel is 4 days late. Some key notes: -package delivery was attempted by the guaranteed time however, the mailman did not leave my package when I checked the waive signature option. -the post office keeps telling me I need to sign MY OWN COPY of the customer online record to let THEM know it's official, even though they never even looked at it when I sent my package. -no note was left for my girlfriend to contact the post office. she checked her door, mailbox, and even apt. office. -I keep getting told different things by the USPS employees, with no results -Called several times, left two messages for the Consumers Affair Dept, and even sent an email. Case number: HQ111116342 -I'm told that I can't even APPLY for a refund or compensation by the supervisor -Can't even have the package successfully redelivered -I paid an extra 15-20 dollars only to have my package POSSIBLY successfully delivered LATE. -Bread has probably gone stale so that's another waste of about 20-25 dollars AND a waste of 85 Degrees Bakery bread. read more

Out of all the employees in my experience, only two were pleasant: Clerk 10 & a Caucasian woman manager. In line, I observed a middle aged hispanic clerk who blatantly did not help a customer because she didn't speak english & told her she only speaks English and yelled, "NEXT!" with no intention to get someone to try to help that customer. That customer got a translator from the line. As a federal employee, that treatment & brushoff is unacceptable- especially in a culturally diverse neighborhood like Monterey Park. When I got to the counter, I had a priority package with perfume content. (The rule says to notify clerk & only ship domestically). Fine. So when it was my turn, I disclosed, & clerk 19- petite older asian-said I couldn't mail perfume- talk to the manager, I can't take it -pointing to a Hispanic lady with long dark hair- but didn't bother to get her attention, and rudely told me to MOVE. I moved & manager also moved to the opposite far end of the counter. Another clerk, caucasian curly hair came and logged in, and also rudely told me to move over to catch said manager. I said "no, I'm waiting here for the manager." She disappeared. I then saw Clerk 10, young Hispanic woman, become available and she had the patience to gather the facts from caucasian manager and explained packages with perfume just could not go on a plane- & they have a sticker to attach -----SIMPLE AS THAT------ No need to refuse. Cons: - small one way parking lot. They have about 12 spots so good luck finding parking. Street parking available but a lot of times I had to park a block down. - looooong line and moves very slow. There are usually 2 employees at the counter and the rest just kinda disappear in the back. I don't know how hard it is to weight a package, put stamps on an envelope, or to fill out the rest of the info but they really take their sweet time. - employees are flat out rude. Literally yell at customers and have the kind of "i hate my job" attitude. I get it, gov't job, but common. - last time i went there (yes last time and never again) was to do the address change. Handed over to the lady at the counter and all she did was dropping it in a box. I moved 2 wks already and my mails are not yet forwarded. I didn't even get a letter saying the addy change is in effect. Whereas my roommate spent $1 online after me and her mail was forwarded. You would think going directly to the post office is better but nooooo. How useless! Wasting my time. I bet she put my form in the trash. One less thing for her to do. We came here to make passports for my family and came with everything prepared today. The clerks we talked to beforehand told us to be in line by 12:00 p.m., and we were 30 minutes early. However, they stopped making passports earlier than that due to being "understaffed". Don't tell us to come by a certain time if you are not going to provide us with the service that was promised. A complete waste of time and the so-called supervisor did absolutely nothing to accommodate us or compensate us for our time. I then went to the Rosemead Post Office the same day and had no issues at all making our passports. Note that the Rosemead Post Office offers passport services till 1:00 p.m. unlike this place. read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service! The attendant Asella, whilst chewing gum, was a downright horrendous and disrespectful employee. I had a missing package, so decided to inquire about it. This employee was so rude and dismissed me, while she called others in line as I was asking questions. I asked to speak to her manager, and she states to come back later and "we don't have a manager." I stood there getting pissed off and she ignored me. I've NEVER had this type of service at a post office. She just doesn't care about her job and I'm sure has a miserable life. No wonder USPS is practically going out of business. 0 stars!
