What an interesting little post office in the Crichton area of Mobile…read more I needed to mail out my Christmas cards, which I had accidentally spilled water all over earlier that day. I went in and there was no one in line so I went straight to the window. I bought 30 stamps as well as a cute card. Who knew you could buy cards at the post office? They have a decent selection and they're fairly inexpensive. I told the lady at the window that I was totally blaming that spilled water on the post office. She smiled and winked and told me to bring them inside to the window next time instead of dropping them in the outside box. I put stamps on my cards and dropped them in the inside box and was on my way within just a few minutes. The runner at my office recommended this post office because he said it's never busy, and he was right. The post lady was super friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, after close inspection of the nearby trees, I had no luck finding the elusive Mobile leprechaun. Maybe I'll go back in March. ;)

Located on St Joseph Street its a huge building, with ample parking on the street as well as a small lot on the side. The building is older but comfortable to be in, its very clean, with a quiet yet efficient air conditioner and heater, and it has an old Mobile charm that most people would find charming. The staff is awesome, unlike some of the horror stories you have heard about other Postal employees, they are on the ball. They can answer most questions efficiently and correctly. They have a large understanding of how to streamline the passport process, rent a p.o. box, sell you a money order or even just send the letter or package you need. The people who work here really seem to enjoy it and go out of their way to help. They always greet with a smile and seem to be able to remember you if you have ever been there before. All in all, probably the best postal experience I have ever had in my life!
