I had an appointment on Friday June 26 at 9:30 and I was told to be there 15 minutes early. I was there at 9:00 because I traveled 60 miles to get ther. I sat and waited until 9:45 when the person doing my passport arrived at 9:45. I followed all instructions when he finally called me to the counter I was told I needed my original birth certificate along with the copy he refused to process it. This is a busy post office, and there's usually a line, but the staff keeps things moving quickly. I had to jump out of line to add an address to my package, but the clerk saw me at the back of the line and let me move up. That was a very kind thing to do, and I very much appreciated it. There are lots of packing supplies and options for sending packages, I feel that they are catching up to the convenience of the commercial shipping stores. It's a little tricky getting in and out of the parking lot, but that's often the case on McKnight Road. The staff was polite, knowledgeable, and very competent. read more

Literally hire more people or something. The kiosk is always down and the line is always to the door. Nothing works and everyone's rude.

I've lived in numerous different zip codes across Pittsburgh, Allegheny and Butler Counties and also in a bunch of different areas in Phoenix. This is by far the worst post office I've ever dealt with. I've been at my address for over 10 weeks now and my mail still is not right. They are sending things back to where they came from (in some cases, in other cases they are just plain lost) sometimes when returned to the sender it says the address is vacant. Every time I go no one can help. I've lost numerous birthday cards, a rebate check for $800, A deans list certificate and I honestly have no idea what else. At one point I was forced to put my mail "on hold" against my better judgment I agreed. I go to collect and they have no record of the hold. I still have no idea what the issue is. I'm still getting mail for the last residents even though I left specific notes who is and isn't residing at the address anymore. I also get informed delivery and I see that things are supposed to be delivered and they never are. Truly have never experienced issues like this in my whole life. Some of these things they can't even blame on change of address because they were mailed directly to this address but never delivered. I'm completely fed up. read more

For years, I have off-and-on used this post office to send packages, and today I used the self-service kiosk to mail two large envelopes. Of course, the post office offers other services including PO boxes, money orders, and passport photos. Currently, the self-service kiosk is open all day, and I easily figured out how to use the machine. The postage was reasonably priced. I slightly struggled to fit my large envelopes through their mailbox slot, but eventually the envelopes went in. If I had needed an employee for assistance, then the retail hours are until 6 PM, which is convenient for people who work 9-5. In the past, I never experienced problems with the employees, except sometimes lines of customers were long and moved slowly. I have always been able to find a convenient parking spot outside in the lot. The building looks a little worn and plain, so it could be remodeled. read more

Mis-delivered a package which was urgent (car part) and never answers the phone when I call to figure out what happened. Between Friday, Saturday, and Monday I have called at least 10 times at various times of the day and was unable to get assistance. This post office is right on Mcknight rd and is one of the buyer post offices in the area. The parking lot is big with plenty of parking . The staff where friendly and moved pretty quickly. when I was at the post office there was a line of about 5-6 people inferno of me and there where only 2 clerks. However once they saw there was starting to get a backup a third person came out and asked if there was any drop-offs and or pickups. So I was in and out in only a few minutes. I like this post office as it is a bit bigger than some of the other locations in the area. Also I like that it is next door too Starbucks which is a plus for me. read more

For the most part, most are helpful and friendly and go beyond what they are required to do. I sell a lot of items through Poshmark there. I have issues with fine motor skills sometimes due to arthritis. Most of the employees just help me with the tape or box, some throw it at me and tell me to do it myself. Very rudely. One guy will just did it all if he's not busy. I always hope he will be the one who waits on me. He has always been kind. Some workers really need to try to at least try to be a better human. If I could give this a lower rating I would... I Came in with priority tape that another post office gave me to wrap my box in. I didn't realize I didn't have the address at the time So I had to wait to mail it. I walk into the McKnight post office and the lady at the counter told me I had to mail it priority because it said priority. And I was like I brought that in from another post office it's not like I picked it up here. I was mostly just frustrated because She said I had to buy different tape and label when another post office provided that for me without Hassle. The other associate Cheryl chimed in and kept saying does it say priority, does it say priority, does it say priority.... whenever I wouldn't answer she kept repeating herself in a very loud manner. She then turned to her customer and said do you see what we have to deal with. That of course was extremely unprofessional. But What upset me is I was taking the box back even though I was not happy about it and I was moving on with my day.... when she kept asking me does it say priority?! That's what irritated me. Her attitude was absolutely ridiculous. And don't even get me started on the girl that was actually helping me because she was so inconvenienced that I even showed up. read more

I walked in wanting to get my passport because their website stated they accept walk ins. They said they do not have any openings and said I had to make an appointment. The closest opening they had was a Saturday 3 weeks away at 10am. That's fine, whatever. I get there 10 minutes before my scheduled time, the man behind the counter told me to sit on the bench and I will be called up. I sit next to a couple on the bench. They proceed to tell me they are the 9:30 appointment and they have been waiting since then. We continued to sit there and watch 4-5 more people walk in wanting passports. They said they had called yesterday and the employee who answered the phone told them they do not need to make an appointment. Everyone was extremely angry when they were turned away because there were no openings and were told they could just walk in. It is now 10:15 and we now have another man sitting on the bench. 4 adults sitting on the smallest bench in the world. All of a sudden we heard yelling from the back room. An employee had told a woman working the front desk to explain the situation to us that they were short staffed. The woman yelled back, "They can wait as long as it takes, they're all early and I ain't saying nothing." My appointment was at 10. It is now 10:30. We aren't early and the customer service here is horrible. They ended up calling my name at 11:45 and I was walking out the door by 12:05. Horrible customer service. I live outside of the state and have to rely on contacting my customers local post office when there is an issue when delivering an package. Called at 10:30 am to ask if appointments required for passport applications. Was told no. Arrived later in afternoon. After waiting for 10 min. I was at the front of the queue and was told that I needed an appointment to apply for passport that day because "they were short-staffed". I feel bad for the USPS. It just isn't managed well. At peak times (lunch, right after work), they never seem to have enough staff which equals to long waits. Never a smile or a friendly face. If I get them to look at me and even crack a smile, I consider it a win. You just get the feeling that everyone, including the workers, hates being there. I do appreciate there being the self-serve kiosk in the front with the larger slot for pre-paid packages. I lost an item because they delivered to my address and signed it by themself and somebody stole it. And they did not respond or give any refund to the company who sell it for me. Last year, it was another item, I use my work address and they delivered to a wrong store too. After that, they asked me to go whole plaza to ask all stores in that plaza to get my item back and the item costs more than a thousand dollars. They get paid well for salary but they are not responsiblity for their job. Even the cashiers who work in USPS Post Office were not friendly when they talked to me. read more

This place is in such bad shape it's ridiculous. Nobody wants to help no one , they push you to a person that gives you to someone who says I can't help you call this number. I tried calling the office for 3 days nothing but a machine that transferred me to a line that rang and rang. I counted the rings one time and it rang for 39 times then it was picked up and hung up. I sent a package from the west view office after that it magically disappeared it has been lost for the last 25 days no scan has been done since it left the Westview office. I found my insurance paperwork. I sent another item to the same address the next day I tracked it and it said it has left the Warrendale facility in on its way to its destination. Now the first package absolutely said nothing so to me that package is either laying on the floor at the Westview office somewhere or laying somewhere at the McKnight Road office where somebody tried to toss it into a bin and missed and didn't pick it up. Your business is so terrible you have 20-year-old supervisors telling employees that have 20 years or more time what to do that just doesn't work it's absolutely horrible I Mail letters and that is it, I now use UPS in the last four packages I sent they were on time you need help you need a new postmaster general to start that help absolutely horrible people try UPS or FedEx for any packages that have any value to them, because the employees at the post office don't give a crap about their job that's the government for you read more

The mcknight rd post office has the most incompetent people working there that i have ever dealt with. This last incident which is one of many. I was lied to three times that my accumulated hold mail would be delivered. One time with the manager al another with asst manager mike. Every time i have a hold mail request i can never get it delivered even when i call the office directly i am lied to time and time again. If these employees r so incompetent they should be replaced by one of the many competent people who are looking for jobs. Another example. I just went thru my hold mail accumulated which i had to pickup myself. I found seven pieces of mail that did not belong to me. I have been gone for three weeks. So these people have not received this mail for at least three weeks. Really we are hiring people who cant read! read more

I recently stopped at this post office to purchase stamps (300 forever and 300 post card). They were busy so I patiently waited for my turn. I was called up after about ten minutes. I informed the postal work that I would like to purchase 300 forever and 300 post card stamps. As she grabbed the stamps I took out my company credit card and had my driver's license ready (I never sign my credit cards to insure the retailer asks for my ID). After swiping the card the postal worker asked to see it. She then asked for ID. I promptly gave her my driver's license. She advised me that I would need to sign my credit card before she would process the transaction. I thought to myself, "that's weird", but signed it anyway. (Of course I signed it quickly and my signature looked different from the one on my driver's license). I was starting to become frustrated and she must have seen that in my facial expression because she then said, "you should have already signed it". This was not spoken in a helpful manner, but instead a degrading/derogatory manner. I told her it hadn't been signed so that retailers would ask for my ID. After comparing my signatures she asked for a second form of ID. At this point I lost it. I told her to void the transaction and let her know how great the McKnight post office is with it's patrons. Of course I was being very sarcastic. As I was walking out she yelled to me that she was only following the credit card companies protocol. Really? Protocol? I made sure to let her know I had never been treated like that while making a credit card purchase. Honestly, I have never had such a problem. If the United States Postal Service wants to survive in today's digital age it should restrain it's workers from jerking around the patrons. I never write reviews, but for this instance I felt it was necessary. I visited this location on 1/17/2017 to mail a care package to my husband who is currently deployed overseas. Usually things go smoothly and the package should have taken about 10 days or so to arrive. I had my form filled out correctly (made sure to triple check and sent a picture of it to my husband to make sure his address was correct). The man behind the counter didn't really seem to know what he was doing. I got the vibe he has never dealt with a military care package required to go through customs. Regardless, I let him do his job and he gave me my receipt with the tracking number and I left. I opted to receive text notifications from USPS with updated tracking information so I was informed when it reached two other locations and then nothing. I called about a month after I sent it to inquire about where it could have been and the 800 number was completely useless. They said it could not be tracked on their end and it was probably lost. I finally received a text on 2/25 that the package was "accepted" but at the wrong base! FINALLY today (3/7), about 2 months after I had sent the package, my husband said he received it. Whoever took down the information at the post office recorded the wrong zip code!! I never like to put blame on others but he completely screwed it up and it was sent to the wrong location until people connected the dots and sent it to the address I had listed on the package itself. There was a giant stamp on the package reading "MIS-SENT." I will NEVER return to this location! Their employees are clueless and should be trained on correct processes and procedures. read more
