This is the best post office in the city. The staff is always friendly. The hours are better than…read morethe other branches (open until 6 on weekdays, longer Saturday hours). They usually have 2 or 3 people working the counters, so the waits are much better. Post offices are made or broken by the workers. This place excels with its customer service. I've seen the employees here walk hard of hearing and elderly people through their orders in a very respectful and patient manner; that really stood out to me, because I have definitely seen the opposite. The only con is the parking--if you get lucky you can get a street spot, but generally I take the metered lot behind the Friendship Circle.

How does this poor Postal worker get anything done with such a short break? I can tell you how as I sat in the parking lot at 2:13 waiting for the door to open at 2:15 again walked in. I was the first customer there had some cards that I was sending out for Easter. They were a little heavier, so I was concerned that they may need a little bit extra postage on them so I asked the employee if he could tell me if they were OK and certainly the first couple he just grabbed them from the box that he has sitting next to him and shook them a little bit and went. Yeah, these are fine and I added some other others that needed stamps after I purchased them and I asked him to check these also he says " I don't have time for that"was only nine additional cards and he said" I'm starting to get a line" maybe two more people behind me constitutes a line but satisfying a customer is certainly a bigger deal for US government employee so I'm just saddened by the fact that he felt that he didn't have enough time after his little lunch break and he was probably worn out from you maybe lunch I was his first customer at 2:15 and he couldn't find the time to finish up my purchase so sad! He also recommend recommended that I find a post office that had more than one employee so he didn't have to strain himself doing this. Very unbelievable task of checking the weight of a card.!

I understand that I showed up a couple of minutes before closing, but I didn't realize that until he mentioned it. I even asked him if he had time to help me, and if not, I would have gladly come back the next day. Instead, he snatched the box out of my hand and was very passive-aggressive. A lady walked in right after me, and he was rude to her as well--she only needed stamps. After she left, he made a smart comment to me, saying I was going to be the reason more people would come in, even though no one else came in besides that one lady. After I finished writing everything he needed, he took the box and the marker out of my hand and slammed the marker into the cup on the counter. I completely understand that people have bad days, but there's no reason to be aggressive or treat customers that way. Hopefully next time he chooses to be a bit kinder.

Fortunately, I found a parking spot (not an easy feat, btw) and ventured inside. I was mailing a cat carrier to a friend who had leant it to me and I had created my own box for it. Not the best create-a-box job ever, and I was worried that it would be rejected. Never Fear! As others have noted, this is the best Postmaster in the world! He laughed and said "Homemade box?" Uh oh, I thought to my self and answered "Yes" to his question. " I love homemade boxes" he said! Whew! We had a good laugh together, and my friend's cat carrier is on it's way to Wisconsin! Hurray. This is where I will always come for my Postal needs!

The staff is friendly (as our their usual mail carriers). There are a few spots in front of the post office, but there are also street spots available as well. It is a great spot to stop if you need to mail something with a specific post mark date because they typically don't have the lines that larger post offices (like Monroeville) have.

I always viewed this as a congested mess with the location that it is in. I showed up for a single stamp recently. I was fearing for the worst and having to wait in a long line of college kids for a single, solitary stamp. But I walked in and right up to the counter and out the door in under five minutes. Then it hit me, hardly anyone uses the post office anymore. Unless it is dire to send a letter, no one really steps foot in here. Case in point. The only other people in here were of the older persuasion. Not a bad thing, but you can tell the times are changing.

I recently had a problem, I was expecting a package coming to me before Christmas that was very delayed, so I contacted my post office, and on both occasions spoke to Dave, gave me the numbers and departments that I needed to call.
