We stopped to drop off a package while we were out and about. Nice, big parking lot The entrance had the self service kiosk right by the door tucked in with the PO Boxes. And well... that's all I needed. I always have my packages prelabeled to save money on shipping, so it is cool that this post office was setup to avoid the main counter with ease. You save nearly 70% on shipping costs if you are able to weigh and measure your package at home and print a label. I wish all post offices had the double package drop off chutes. Usually the one gets clogged up quickly, so two is a BIG deal. read more

Castle Shannon Post Office repeatedly "returns-to-sender" all my important mail addressed to me. Paychecks and such. But they leave the junk mail in my mailbox Ive reported this on 2 or 3 other occurrences this year and last year. Someone at the Post Office is making errors. The supervisor is supposed to answer incoming calls, but that never happens. The other USPS office answers their incoming calls. My mail hold never works at this location. Unfortunately, some employees at this location act retired while on the job. If you have a real issue, the toll-free number, for the most part, is useless. read more

We have the laziest ignorant carrier on this earth . Buchanan , Mt Leb. In my apt building he puts anybody's mail in anybody box even the boxes that have no tenants. He refuses to take back any mail that doesn't belong here and he will Not take a letter with postage to the post office to be mailed. Mine has been found on the floor or even outside. It's convenient and most of the employees are ok, there are always one or two who make going here unpleasant. My bigger issue is that my mail is constantly shoved and ripped up because the carrier refuses to put it where your supposed to. On the table outside of our condo mail boxes where are very small. Instead he crams all my mail and I get it ripped up. And when I asked nicely to tell him to please not do that and it only became more ripped up. I made an appointment for 2:45-3:00 pm to obtain a passport for my child and I walked in the door at 2:45. I waited two minutes until 2:47 and K... came out to the desk and said you're late you'll have to reschedule I said the appointment is 2:45 She became even more rude and nasty and said no the appointment says arrive 10 minutes befor. my confirmation Email of my appointment says 2:45-3:00 It does not say anything about arrive 10 minutes early. she was rude to me the last time I was in there and I didn't say anything but this time she wouldn't serve me so I told her she was being rude. I asked for the postmaster and she said he would not be available for another hour because he was in a conference call. I called several times, and nobody answers the phone to make a complaint. If you're not happy and work Customer Service do not purport your misery on to the public it is your job and I think if somebody shows up on time for their appointment, you should provide the service. I'm severely disappointed. I would never speak to someone at my place of work like that. Just disappointed. I had to get my daughter out of school, take off work to be talked to with no respect. Passport services are horrible. came in there two times and every time there was the same rude female worker in a bad mood. Last time i came as a helper to old lady who did not fill out the form before she came. We had 15 minutes for appointment, but she refused to talk with us and said that she canceled our appointment because papers were not filled out. I told her that we still have our time and need her help. The post office worker sent us and said that we had to do it on our own and it is not her duty to help with forms. their machine to schedule another appointment did not work , no help from them the female worker, nobody to ask questions. Really bad experience twice. And she said that every post officer would say the same. but actually, we went to Bethel park post office and received a good service and help with no problem. read more

It's so frustrating when you run into an unreasonable & downright nasty person working in customer service. I review good and bad local services on Yelp diligently... & this branch of post office is the absolute worst. This isn't the first time I've had issues here, for sure. If my business didn't need a 24x7 box I'd have reconsidered. Either way, I'm tired of being mistreated. Maybe the person had a bad day, maybe the shutdown is bothering them? I don't know & in this instance of missing postage (of a significant amount being double charged despite online tracking information and receipts from both sender and receiver), I wonder-- WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING? Was I scammed or was it a mistake?
