This nonprofit organization is volunteer based and serves Westmoreland County and the surrounding areas and dates back to 1991. Their volunteers work very hard to help keep the rescued animals safe and often encounter many challenging situations while assisting these animals to survive. A wonderful fundraiser event was held tonight to help keep up with the expenses of operating this very well organized wildlife center.

This family owned business is an asset to the community and a refreshing alternative to chain box stores. Consistent staff and consistent service is obviously key to their longevity.

A friend of some 50 years passed away in an adjacent county to his home of record. County rules and procedures in Pennsylvania differ at the county level. This friend was the last of his bloodline. He was predeceased by an older brother and by both parents. His wife had passed away the previous year and they had no children between them, having been married later in life. There was no blood relative to assist with his post-mortem wishes. Ashley showed an extraordinary level of both knowledge and compassion as she helped his two best friends -- myself and another -- work through the labyrinthine requirements to have an unclaimed body claimed by friends to carry out the deceased wishes after his death. She set up everything. She worked with the adjacent county coroner, provided guidance as to the best way to proceed, and all the while, she was caring - perhaps the word "lovingkindness" would be more accurate. That she would work so hard for someone who died with many friends, but no family, leads me to believe she would be among the very best in helping a family which had lost a loved one. The only unfortunate part of this review is that I am limited to only five stars, if ten were available, that number would be insufficient. In the minds of all of the deceased friends, Ms.Ashley Nye is one in a million! Bless her.
