I have been frequenting this location for over 20 years and have never encountered such a vile human being. I arrived with ONE package at 4:30 pm. A whole 30 minutes before their closing time. However, this man below refused to serve us (other patrons that came after me) despite our presence before the close of business. He was verbally abusive to all of us. Another patron captured it on video. Hopefully, she posts it and also submits it to the corporate office. What I needed would have taken all of two seconds as I already prepaid for the label online. All they had to do was scan the QR code, print the label, and slap it on the package. This man below and the other woman behind the counter should not be public facing. Whether its for a pack of stamps, to buy shipping supplies, or to ship a package, the workers here are so rude for no reason. They seem like they hate their jobs and are forced to come into work. I do have to say that I've been in and out of the post office during COVID and they have lines out of the door. They also doing a great job with their 6ft social distancing guidelines. There are at least 5 parking spot right outside and a couple more right out in front. Great location! read more

Usually this Post Office is very slow and the staff are not too friendly. Today, however, was a different story. The line moved much faster than usual (but I suspect that is only because they were getting ready to close and wanted to get everyone out ASAP) and the staff were very nice! They usually have a meager selection of stamps, but again, today was quite different. They had tons of different stamps! As someone who runs an e-commerce business, I'm constantly sending mail, and I've become pretty familiar with the post office locations in the area. Malden being my actual place of residence, however, means I'm more often in contact with this specific office. They are hands down the nicest, friendliest and most helpful staff I've encountered. I've dealt with countless usps staff who have been rude, unhelpful and overwhelmed (not that I blame them--it's a tough job), but these guys are the best. Ten million stars to the postmaster who has helped me resolve every issue I've ever had with tracking, pickup, delivery, etc. He even followed up by phone call to ensure one case had been resolved--during the middle of the holiday season, no less. The Malden Post office is great! Unfortunately all it takes is one lazy employee to ruin that image. Twice now, once last month and now again this month I sent sent something certified mail to a member of my household and the lazy postman, decided on his own, to NOT ring the buzzer to acquire the signature. Instead, just put the pre-filled out slip in the mailbox. Getting the signature is YOUR job. Ring the buzzer. I am having a lot of issues with package pick up requests. I set it up on the computer and no one comes. Sometimes I get an email telling me they have picked up and it is not true. Packages are still sitting in front of my building which is unsafe. I set up a pickup for this past Friday 11/10/23 and no one came. Saturday was a holiday so no pickup. Monday I called and was assured someone would come. They did not. I called today on Tuesday and was told they do not ring bells which that should be taken off the website if that is true and then he told me I need to go to the post office myself. I am a senior handicapped person who can not even climb my stairs. I will be moving. I hope the next city is kinder to a senior citizen who works from home and needs to mail packages. They are affecting my business and reputation. I am citing the current problem but this has been ongoing with them to the point they gave me the supervisor's direct number and they hardly pick up the phone there. I need resolution. I mailed a certified letter from Florida to Massachusetts to my father which has to be signed by him in order to be delivered, that's what the expensive service is for! The carrier allowed some stranger to sign for it with just an initial scribble, and never gave the package to my father. I called the Malden post office to find out where the package was they wouldn't say but they said that they did recover it. After 2 weeks of back and forth on the phone, I just asked them to just send it back to me. I spent $6 on this and they won't give me my money back. This Post Office and the people running it are absolutely terrible. In Melrose our mail is routed through Malden and they are terrible at giving the mail carriers the correct mail in a timely manner. I've been into the Office twice myself and essentially blamed by the Manager there for not getting my packages. They'd rather pass the blame to everyone else. And what's worse, the Office is just downright disgusting. There are piles of packages falling everywhere behind the desk. The employees have no semblance of any system to organize and it's clear in the presentation of this place. It's no wonder the USPS is failing as an entity, and that's because of employees and Managers who care nothing for the job they're doing. I'll be happy to see this place close down. read more

I would give this USPS a zero star if they have it . The male associated I spoke with was the worst associate I ever experienced. I wanted to see my packages with pre-paid paypal usps label was overweight and pay the difference like what I did last time at the location inside Prudential Mall. He yelled: No. You have to go back cancel and reprint it. I'm not going to do it. They did it because they did it wrong. I've been working at this position for 28 years! I met the regular mailman that delivers on our street, he seemed nice. Says hello and waves. He only delivers mail and small packages under certain size. I just moved to Malden, two months ago and this is the 1st large package they lost. The tracking status said the packaged was delivered but I did not received anything and I was home that day. So I went down to the post office to find out what had happened. First of all all the people there seemed nice, but they were no help. So the lady who was helping me said that they don't have the package and they have to get back to me, but they did receive the package and have to check with the carrier kool. After a week of me checking in every other day for updates. Now the staff is telling me the manager has my case. Okay so who's the manager and when is she in. " Oh i don't know, when ever she gets here" Okay? So now after a week I will be going back to the post office and hoping to speak with someone that can actually help. I actually want to give ZERO stars - is that possible? We don't get mail a few times a week either, and we have gotten mail for other households on our street as well. I've had packages that were sent to me that I haven't received and also bills. When I call the post office all they say is "I'll talk to the mail carrier", but the issues don't go away. Wow - no love for the Malden post office up in here. Personally, my dealings here have been pleasant (as pleasant as going to the post office can be). While the main complaint is valid (usually only 2 employees at the desk at any given time) - I found the employees to be charming and hilarious. They were cracking jokes with the long line of people waiting and ribbing each other. I like that. The place has character. I've never had any issues with the Malden mail system thus far and the post office, while not my favorite place to be, is just dandy in my book. It gets the job done. read more

On more than one occasion our mailman comes to the house, drops off a box full of mail and a package or two and completely fails to take the 5 envelopes that I have placed ON TOP OF the mailbox (to ensure he knows they are outgoing.) I have even attached notes to the mailbox when returning a package, as otherwise it sits on the ledge for a week. I have lived in my house for 2+ years and he usually parks right in front of our house when he is going up and down the street so it's not like we are way out of the way... UPDATE: Had confrontation with said mailman. After calling the post office to complain I come home and the SAME MAIL IS STILL HERE. He is parked at the end of my driveway, so I walk outside and hand him the mail. He then asks if I am the one who called to complain. I say yes; "I don't mind picking up the mail, it is my job, but you guys have all this trash on the steps and in the winter time you didn't shovel. If you want me to do something for you than you have to do something for me." Cut two the two pieces of paper on the porch (SO MUCH TRASH, how can we live with ourselves?!) I inform the mailman that since we are renters the landlord is responsible for shoveling, and come this winter (6 months from now) I will ask she come sooner to clear the steps so as to not interfere with his work, and pick up said trash. Every time I've been here it's either super packed with the line outside the door or completely empty. Thank you to the overworked, underpaid federal employees who deal with everyone's crap and nonsense. What a joke. It's a combination of opening late, the attitude of making u feel like your bothering them and the obvious attitude they have for cultures other that their own. None if them help each other and you wonder why people use email and UPS over the Post Office. There is no sense that I'm a customer when I am in there. They also complain about each other right in front if you. I seriously doubt whoever is in charge there even knows what Yelp is so this falls on deaf ears but at least people can travel to another PO. Don't use USPS if you want a package delivered quickly. I sent a package 7 days ago using priority mail (said 3 days) recipient still hasn't received package and not updated regularly when I try to track it. Next time I will use another service like FedEx. Ridiculous and inexcusable. Long lines when you go too. read more

My guess is that the only time anyone thinks to review the post office is when something goes wrong. In the more than three years that I have been using this post office, I have never been treated rudely. I've mailed packages, picked up held mail, gotten a passport and more -- all with good customer service. Yes, the post office often does not have enough front-line cashiers, but I'm guessing that staffing is determined at the federal level. They also have that one employee who doesn't seem to be allowed to use a register, but she does help the line move by getting people their packages or helping them use the postage machine. It's a post office. It's not perfect. But for the limited resources that they have, I can't really complain. read more

Pretty awful postal service in Malden. The postal service isn't really something that I would bother to review unless it was really bad, and it is. There have definitely been days when not one single person in my apartment building will receive mail and then next day there will be an overabundance of it... almost as if they have been hoarding it to deliver all in one day which I am pretty sure is illegal. I've received mail from other streets often and decided to start leaving notes with mail that I return in case some of mine is not being delivered properly as well. Standing in line at this post office...there is ALWAYS a long line...I actually start to get a little nervous. I have seen a couple people chewed out by the postal workers before for asking simple questions about rates and best methods to ship their item. Allow me tell you a tale, my friends, about the mystery of the lost package and its subsequent recovery. I was expecting a package from China to arrive on Wednesday, but unfortunately was called out of town on business. When I returned on Thursday, the post office had left behind a slip in my mailbox saying that they had attempted a delivery, but missed me, so I could reschedule online. However, when I went to do so, it came up with an error notification saying that no delivery could be rescheduled. Strange, I thought. So I went to the original sender's site and double-checked the tracking number - where it told me that it had been picked up by someone named N Li at 10am. I went down to the main office of my apartment and inquired if anyone had signed for my package - they told me that they hadn't, and I informed them that N Li had apparently signed for it. They recognized that as the name of a resident, and said they would reach out. Fast forward to the afternoon, where I still hadn't heard about my package, and at this point, I'm getting a bit antsy. So I call the post office and a man - Mr. Joe Chung - picks up - I give him my tracking number and he very kindly and patiently explains that someone named N Li had picked up my package, and it had been addressed to her in a different apartment number. Curiouser and curiouser, as I had an orange slip in my hand telling me that it was addressed to me in MY apartment number. He asks for my number and tells me he'll call me back after he investigates. I decided to take matters into my own hands and track down this N Li by going to her apartment - who turns out to be another young Asian woman living in my building. She tells me she had gone to the post office to pick up my package - but they had given her the wrong one, so she returned it and obtained hers. It's at this time that Joe calls me back and tells me he figured out what happened. I put him on speaker and have Ms. Li tell her side of the story - and after a bit of work, he says he'll hold on to my package for me if I go to the Post Office today. The Post Office closes at 5pm. I look at my phone and it is 4:54 pm. Luckily, Joe reassures me that he will stay around until at least 6pm, so no rush. I book it to the Post Office anyway and meet Joe in person - he's from Hong Kong and speaks Cantonese (my mother is from Hong Kong and I speak Cantonese) and he explains that an employee must have confused my Asian name with Ms. Li's and he apologizes for the mix-up. He tells me if I ever have any trouble again to just ask for him next time. I'm utterly grateful and walk back with my package in tow. Basically, shout-out to Mr. Joe Chung for doing a great job. If he had been any less diligent or more apathetic, I never would have gotten my package, so I'm super grateful to him to going above and beyond in order to correct the mistake that was made. But the moral of the story is...insure your packages, especially if they're being shipped from overseas. read more

Bitch complain moan.... The general public are the worst. I would love for any of these negative review author's to sit behind the desk of tis place and deal with the public sector for 1 day. Forget that you are in a city that has completely flipped on it's primary language and become somewhat of a league of nations, with much trouble in communications in general. This is by far the biggest and busiest PO in the area. I have been coming here since I was a wee lad many years ago, and I can honestly say that I don't know how they do it. I'd would eat a bullet if I had to put up with shit they do on a daily basis. Let's not forget the deplorable building they are in 8 hours a day and on Saturdays. They are some of the nicest people, and If people weren't complete fucking savages, just tossing shit all over the place and bitching and complaining all the time, and smiled once in awhile; maybe they will reciprocate. Parking is never an issue (See Melrose clusterfuck), they are open 6 days a week.. what more do you want America? The USPS Delivery guy has super awesome life and is very busy. He doesnt come to deliver the packages to you. He will only bring in delivery failure notice and leave it in your mailbox and goes back to his super busy work. Me - I dont have a busy life ( Yep - cant compare to the USPS' busy schedule) I will wait till saturday to go to the post office show the receipt and get my package . This is the WORST POST OFFICE EVER. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20 minutes to the next closest one. So far they have cancelled my mail TWICE in the last six months with NO notice. I can't check my mail every day (and seriously-- who does??) and even when I'm able to, it's like ONE letter. So I check it when I can. Today, I tracked a package that was supposed to be delivered two days ago (tracking info said "in transit" still), and when I called, the manager said the carrier has been returning my mail AGAIN (did the same thing a few months ago) because he thought I didn't live there. when you get older going to the post office is the same as going to the dentist. you have to wait forever and you always leave in pain. i have to come here a lot because i just started on all this computer stuff. i also move around a lot so i got a po box. its like a home base. but i don't like it much here. there's this one lady i shouldn't even call her a lady but she is behind the counter lots in the morning which is when i go usually and she's a nasty woman. she's always got a dirty look on her face and sometimes she just stares at her nails or off at something i can't see while people are waiting in line. respect ain't her game. only reason i starred this place two is because of the young girl who sometimes works in the afternoon. she's got this scraggly blond hair. almost yellow really. and it reminds me of this woman i knew once. can't even remember what she looked like now but just remember that hair. plus this girl smiles a lot. used to hate when girls smiled too much cause it made me think they were dumb smiling all the time like an idiot. but you know its the kind of thing a guy can get used to after a while. read more
