I had an incident with these two women before and I must say they are the worst representation of the USPS. They lack the basics of customer service, their managers have been notified numerous of times and still nothing has been done to correct their behavior. Seems like their managers let them do whatever they want and it shows. This is the fault of their leadership. We as people that stay in DTLA have no choice but to take our packages to this location because it's convenient. I contacted the Consumer office. I'm hoping for change and I hope nobody has to encounter these two ladies appalling negative services. If I could rate this location a no stars I honestly would. Location wise it's a great location, heart of downtown and easy access. However the employees on the other hand Whoever was in charge of the hiring process is the true criminal. I think toddlers would do a better job in running the location. The young black women had the worst care to attention and no sympathy whatsoever. When no pens were present in the lobby area, and after I requested politely to borrow a pen, she hit me with a heartless NO. When she had a cup full of pens next to her. On 9/5/24 at 1:54pm was only 1 counter person and had a sign saying no money orders at this counter and when asked why simply was like go to this location in the arcade at 5th and Grand and that location closes at 4pm online. This place is the closest post office to me but I've been driving to the one by USC to avoid the anxiety I get from this location. I have personally never had a horrible experience with any of the workers but other people I've been here with have. During 2020-2021, I dropped by a few times and some of the workers were not wearing their masks. They seem like they don't give a heck here and one lady was following around a customer maskless and she sneezed a few times covering her face with her arm. Jeeze Louise, the building is already tiny with slow moving lines. Another time, a colleague of mine got refused for dropping off multiple packages here so he had to start dropping them off else where. How is this acceptable? Also, sometimes they just close for no reason even though their hours are supposed to be open so I waste my time walking here. I have never been to such a rough postal office living in this country. I try to be extra nice to the workers so they haven't treated me too poorly but just the vibe overall of this very abrasive location and the way they treat others and their unfriendly attitudes is not a place I look forward to entering. It's usually dirty and crammed too. I'll go here if I'm desperate but if I have the time, I'm driving out of my way for a more peaceful experience. A+ for location for me but useless. read more

This post office feels tucked away, when walking by it, I forget it's there! Opens at 9 and you can even cut thru the Bloc. It's pretty small compared to other post offices but it gets the job done! It's next to LA Fitness on Flower. Came here to drop a return off. Convenient location for me! No street parking, I'd think parking at the Bloc lot would be best but I don't think they validate. I came right when it opened so it was pretty empty. Only a couple of attendant desks though, so not sure what it would be like during a busy time. Lots of PO Boxes and I believe I saw a self serve kiosk. Glad to have this here within walking distance from me. read more

It's 4:11 PM on Tuesday, I was listing to my music on my air pops at the Self Kiosk, USING THE SELF SERVICE until I was yelled out of the post office by a Female Black Post office worker. I didn't need any help at all, I was at the self service and I was rudely yelled and then kick out of the post office a group of people witness everything. She yelled that she was going on lunch.... Note I understand that everyone is due a Lunch break I totally understand.... What makes no sense this is a Downtown Los Angeles location. Just came by at 2 pm to see them shutting the doors and claiming they are closed until 3 pm and will reopen at that time. So weird lol the hours say open until 5. Anyways lots of people were upset they got locked out. They should be open since the hour online state they are. Just heads up you might come and they will be closed at random times. Not the friendliest staff at this us post office. I was the first one to get there on Friday morning, and I had about 30 small packages. The staff was not friendly or conversational at all and made me feel bad about shipping these items. They did not seem like they liked their job. I wouldn't even give this post office a full star, not even remotely worthy. The attitude of the workers here is out of this world. Also, they have no clue what they're talking about. I came here to see how much postage I would need for my wedding invitations and the lady grabbed my invite to weight it and told me $4?!?! I was super confused upon hearing that because there's no way it should have been more than $2. After asking her how many stamps I would need she said "$4 worth" with an attitude and proceeded to tell me to go check the kiosk next time. If you don't want to tell people how much postage to put on an envelope then maybe you shouldn't be working at a post office. I went to the post office on 505 Flower after because I didn't believe the lady at all and they told me I only needed $1.74. Save your time and money and don't bother with the 7th Street post office. read more

The downtown post office on the side of the newly Bloc shopping complex is shiny, clean, and well stocked. Tip: online, it says that they open at 11, but they are actually open from 9-5:30 and the line was already in full swing when I arrived at 9:15. I'm not going to lie: unless you bring a book or some headphones to listen to some Hall and Oats to lower your blood pressure, you are going to feel like poking your eyes out while you wait in line. The folks at the desk are in no hurry to open another register and even at 9:30 they seemed tired and grumpy. Never had a problem here when I need to drop by afterwork. If anything, the lines could be so long, they're to the door, but when that happens, there's usually a Staffer in the line to see if she can expedite by servicing guests with easy to ring up services. By the end of the day, Staff is tired yet cheerful and gets everything calculated to send off. It's a small facility, but convenient to the metro stations, parking at the Bloc and the Financial District in general. Note that the front door is on Flower, just north of 8th Street. read more

I have social anxiety and I've never shipped anything though the USPS before. I recently got a new job and due to that, I'm currently training here in LA. (which I'm not the biggest fan of, but happy for the opportunity). I needed to ship out some clothes that didn't work out, and thought I'd be fine returning if I followed the instructions the site gave me exactly as written. The woman who "helped" me completely belittled me and made me feel so small and stupid that I didn't know what to do. I'm not sure of her name, but she was a black woman, wore gold hoops, and was at the front desk closest to the right side of the wall. She continued to mock me and smirk when instead she could have simply explained what I needed to do. I am polite by default, and even started to apologize that i didn't know what to do. She kept belittling me (and she made sure to take the time to) until I figured it out. I then needed to find their largest bag, but I was so scared to ask for any help that I ended up putting everything in a box. However, it turns out with the type of return label I had, I needed to put everything in a bag. When I approached the counter again, she then (a lot nicer) pointed to where the bag was that I needed. I was doing my best not to freeze or panic or cry, and I think she saw that in my face. She was a lot nicer to me then, and didn't charge me for the bag, but she honestly ruined my whole day. I had to take an extended lunch because I had to calm down and stop crying. I would have rather her be kind and for me to pay for the bag, than to be mocked and humiliated. I understand it may not have been a big deal to her to treat me like that, and she might think I'm too sensitive or overreacting, but I'm still heartbroken and feel like I have even more anxiety now. It feels as I took one step forward and 50 steps back because of her. I also believe she's a mother (since there was a picture of her kid on her cubicle wall) and all I wish for her is that no one makes her daughter feel like how she made me feel today. Just lack all signs of customer service. Talk on their personal cell phones while talking to you, talking to each other ordering lunch while talking to you. Just no regard for the customer AT ALL! They close when they want to & open when they want to. No matter what the schedule is supposed to be which is extremely inconvenient! I suggest just going to the next closest location! I've come three times now within the past week around 5pm because that's the fastest I can get there after work and every single time they either are "closed already" (even though there are staff inside) or the lady there will lock the door and not let anyone in after starting around 4:30.., THEY CLOSE AT 5:30!! There were about 6 of us outside tonight at 5pm and she yelled at us to leave... we all pointed to the door right next to her where it says they are open until 5:30.
