I've been coming to this post office for years. It gets the job done, and conveniently located. Not a lot of parking available. And yes, the people aren't lying when they say terrible customer service. It definitely seems like they don't want to be there at all, and their attitude can definitely be ill received by people who are more timid. I've shipped packages using this place for years. Nothing has ever gone missing. So they're clearly doing something right. Maybe all the energy that they aren't using for customer service goes toward making sure everything's sorted properly. Lol. just don't go in here expecting Chic-fil-a level attitude. Not happening. I believe the value is good. I save a lot shipping here than going to a privately owned shipping company. And there's a diversity of services offered, from shipping things, to sending certified mail, to private PO boxes ( I recommend going the UPS route for those, tbh) but it's a good store. read more

I had an encounter with what appeared to be an African American lady. Every time I come in the post office she has an attitude and complains that I am dropping off packages and to even more confirm my experience that I wasn't wrong, she literally argued with a lady before my turn about some tape and was rude. Always closed for some reason. Came once around noon and weekday it was completely closed. Came a second time a different time and it was open but no one to check out. Waited about 15 min in line with other people until someone finally shows up. Angrily at that. Tuesday around 2:45pm. To those who have had negative experiences like mine, particularly with the older woman at this USPS location who is consistently rude and unhelpful, I encourage everyone to scan the QR code at the bottom of their receipt and complete the survey based on their experience. It seems they don't take Yelp reviews seriously, so this might be a more effective way to provide feedback. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Today, I was yelled at simply for trying to drop off packages. I understand if certain policies are in place, but they should be clearly stated--not arbitrarily enforced. When I asked for clarification, I was given a manager's number that was conveniently "not receiving calls at the time." Customer service is crucial, even in a government-run business. Being rude and dismissive shouldn't be acceptable. USPS, please do better--hire employees who are willing to assist the public. Also, it would be helpful if USPS policies were standardized across all locations, as many of us have schedules that make it difficult to arrive within certain time frames due to family or business obligations. read more

The ladies working here were very unpleasant. No smiles and I felt like I was an inconvenience for being there. No drop off packages after 4pm. I was confused and said I didn't understand and that's when the attitude was raised in her voice " Ma'am I am I'm not gonna say this again."because I was genuinely confused and asked her to repeat what she was telling me because it really made no sense to me. This post office is near my job and every time I go, not sure if it's bad luck or what but there is only one person at the window assisting and the line is always long. I spend my 35 min break waiting to be attended by the one person. They really need to add more diverse people to work there. If they could hire more staff it would make the process of getting my stuff and shipping out important papers easier. read more

I went here right before the post office closed to drop off my priority package and an old black woman said "we dont accept pre-paid labels after 4" nowhere it shows a sign that says that. She even called me "deaf" "can you not hear" rude as& mf. There wasnt a post office that ever done this before. She just made that up because she doesnt want anymore people coming in at 5:30. I never expect anyone working at a government facility to be happy to be there but they are obviously annoyed that anyone even uses this post office. I enjoy coming to this post office. I've been to a few other locations and the other ones have long lines and staff that are not friendly. This location is amazing. They have short lines, the staff are quick and they are friendly. I'm hear about twice a week and I never have to wait more than 5 min in line. They also have parking which is a plus because since it is LA. They have parking spaces inside but there is also street parking. read more

This USPS location is not far from where I live. I delivered packages from there, mail, and have bought postage. I usually go when it's not too busy. So, I decided to sell books and had a box of about 25 pounds. It's not heavy to lift, but if you had to carry it about half a mile to this location, it was a very bad decision. Well, when I got there, I lingered because of the summer heat and it was so cool inside from the AC. No complaints, but you can't really have an amazing experience from the post office. read more

So, I walk into this location which I have been going for few months and up until today everyone's been very nice and helpful. I usually bring about couple big bags of shipments and I put the bags in the carts to help especially if they are females. However, when I went in to drop off my shipment today at 5:07 a new Lady opens the door and after looking at my 2 bags tells me that they don't have empty carts and that I need to take it to 36th and Vermont. Never heard of a courier that rejects shipment and can't make out a logical reason as to why she would say this knowing with traffic and parking I won't make it there by 5:30. And who knows how busy that location might be. So, she tells me to take it to another location for awhile but I persist and kept on asking and offered to break bag and put it in the cart individually. Then her coworker comes in from the back with 2 empty carts and by now she couldn't lie anymore so she hesitantly accepts my bags and I thanked her. The reason why I am putting this review up is because of what happened while I was walking out thinking "A - She's tired" being the positive person that I am. Then she opened her mouth and screamed at her coworker who did nothing wrong "Why did you bring those carts to the front and make me look like an IDIOT". I think we as a society forget that it's not our leaders that make this country great but it's the people that we meet everyday in our community or the people that we work together that makes this country great. I hope this review will engrave in her mind, until I pull it off, that these days with the technology we have that it's pretty hard to get away with bad to thoughtless doings. Mixed tips and reviews and I have to wonder if bad experience starts from within one? I walked up to inquire on self serve stamp machine and they don't have that option available. No need to fret, presented my envelope and requested 1st class. Made small chat with clerk and shared a good conversation. No one else in line at 12:30pm. Location is on a busy stretch of Washington Blvd with very small parking lot and handicap stalls directly in front of main entrance. Also, no cross walk adjacent if you're approaching on foot. I don't recommend crossing illegally as cars and commercial trucks tend to speed on this stretch. As mentioned earlier, no self services besides a courtesy scale along with a few tables for your convenience. Two clerks on duty behind 1" clear acrylic, speak hole and slip drawer. They don't follow the business hours as posted. I was there (along with other customers) at 5:27pm today 6/5/2017 and the doors were closed and locked. I run a small business and I ship many items everyday and now my customers will get their order late. I don't know what's going on with this post office. They have screwed me over a few times now. Not happy with this place. 7/28 closed early again. Couple of us were outside. 11/10 5:07 pm. Closed early again. They're suppose to be open til 530pm. Even though Veterans Day is a USPS holiday, it's on Saturday. No reason to close early. There was about 5-6 customers rejected the couple minutes I was there. Sandra answered the phone and was so helpful and courteous, I needed a specific priority mail box to send a birthday gift with a shape/length that would not fit in the more common flat rate boxes and that like eight other post offices I called beforehand did not have in stock. I consider this USPS outlet the bizarro of all post offices, and here is why: #1 - There is never a line longer than one or two peeps waiting. #2 - There is always parking available even for this tiny outlet. #3 - They are courteous, polite, answer all your questions, and OMG they ask you if you need help or assistance. #4 - I can be in and out within 5 mins tops. I rarely ever review in yelp but this place is literally the worst USPS office I've ever been to. I brought in 50 envelopes to be sent out and they told me that I'm not allowed to send out more than 10 envelopes at once, only because they were too lazy to process them. I went to the office on Vermont and they did it. Also, there were only 2 cashiers and one of them left 15 minutes before closing simply because she decided she was tired of working. Holy goodness, there's some entertainment value to be had here, y'all... this place has counter top to ceiling bullet-proof plexiglass across all the stations, so it makes it a little bit harder to complete your transactions. However, I was able to purchase my stamps just fine and the folks were neither memorably awesome or terrible, so 3 stars means it's ok in my book :) TIP: I passed the location the first time I looked for it, but just know it's behind some chain-link fences in an industrial strip of businesses. This place also has limited parking, but it seemed to not be an issue when I was there ~4pm on a weekday. read more

The service is surprisingly great, especially when comparing to other post offices in central L.A. The line moves quickly, and the employees answer the backdoor quickly and are so friendly. The only reason for 4 stars is because they are usually out of priority service packaging (although they might have more stored in the back if you want to take the time to ask). read more
