Visiting the post office during tax week is all kinds of fun! (sarcasm) The lines were long and people were somewhat grumpy around me. I was called up to the first window to be greeted by a nice lady who was in training. She was very pleasant and you could tell that she was trying very hard to cover all of her bases. The lady training her however, seemed like she had run out of patience. She never once acknowledged the customer (me), she stood with her arms crossed and her face with a scowl, and she seemed annoyed at the fact that she was training someone. I felt bad for the trainee. There is only one post office in Lodi, so no doubt I'll be back. Hopefully I get the nice man who works one windows down. He's always happy and helpful. read more

Old historical looking post office. Parking is really ample and they even had two separate drive thru mail boxes on the outside. Passport processing is really quick and on time. This is the first time that I've seen an employee greet people coming in and assist customers as they line up and making sure they have everything completed correctly before going to the counter. I'm rarely impressed with post offices but this one runs like clockwork. read more

A few words that describe the Lodi Post Office - Sucky, Inept, Poor. That is me being nice too! This place is an absolute joke. The service in all areas is unfriendly and poor. The lines are always long because there are never enough windows open. This is the type of place you walk into and can immediately tell everyone there hates their jobs. Using the USPS website is a much better option for printing postage and ordering supplies, especially since they do not stock half the priority mail boxes or specialty stamps. Also, don't bother getting any passport information here. If you walk into the special room, nobody acknowledges your presence. After 10 minutes of waiting and see at least 5 employees avoid making eye contact I had to walk out. The Lodi Post Office should be avoided, if this was any other kind of business they would have been boarded up years ago. Update: So against my better judgment, the next day I tried calling the Post Office to set up a passport appointment. After multiple tries over a 30 minute span and the line being busy, I finally get through and immediately put on hold. After 10 minutes on hold, I realized why the line was busy so long, they just stick you on hold and never pick up! Just for kicks and hoping to avoid a trip to Stockton, I tried calling again two days later. After 30 rings, an unfriendly gentleman answers and mumbles something, then says call back in 15 minutes. The worst customer service! Giving this one star because I can't give it a Zero! Had a passport appt for 1:45 pm arrived 2-3 mins late. There was a staff person asking what you need, stated had a passport appt. she told us to sit and wait for the door to open, the person doing passports was with someone. We sat and waited. At 2:25pm I got up to ask if anyone was going to help us and then an old women with curly black hair yelled out, "Anyone here for a passport appt?" I said yes, I've been here waiting since they told me to wait and sit and wait for the door to open. Then she made a big deal stating we were late. I took out the forms and my copies and of course I printed the wrong forms. So she was like, it takes to long to fill them out and you need a BLACK pen, and I'm going to lunch. You can wait for me and I asked how long she took, 45 mins. I asked could at just fill them out fast. She then again stated, it takes so long and started to tell me I need this form notarized! Tell me about the wrong form that I brought, she was just wasting my time. She wanted to argue but yet telling me She had to go to lunch. She was extremely rude and unprofessional! Called the post office since a neighbor's guest took out my mail box. Talked to Vera who told me she would put my mail in the vandalized section. It was fast, easy and Vera was such a great help!!! Now if only the weather would clear up so I can put up the new mail box!! read more

No shocker, more packages lost, this time it was left in a locker, but key in wrong PO box. This place looses about 25% of my packages. Looks like it's best to use UPS and have it sit by the front door all day. read more

The customer service is dishonorable, and the employees have entitled attitudes. They threaten to with-hold mail, which might I add is illegal (considering it is property to the people relying on the USPS to deliver!). One employee in particular, Allan, is very disrespectful, dismissive and abuses his job as a government employee. He refused to give me my mail, even after I went to the post office in person, and he has hung up on calls when I have serious questions. The Post Master needs to put these employees in check because the attitudes and disrespect have gotten out of hand. They harass my elder neighbors and have the snarkiest responses to serious concerns. I hope the petty and childish ways this office has projected change, and soon. read more

We were there to get our passports. Service was quick! We were called in on time & out faster than I thought. The gentleman that helped us was not friendly. Very quiet. I get it. We have our days that we just don't want to speak with anyone but if you're working directly with customers at least be welcoming. He just asked for docs & did his thing. He knew his stuff. But this is where I have knocked off stars.... when he was sorting our documents like application to our birth certificates he LICKED HIS THUMB EACH TIME he flip the page. I didn't think much of it until he was almost done with the last application when I realized why he kept putting his thumb in his mouth. I was so disgusted. I don't know why anyone thinks it's ever ok to do that. It's gross! Please don't do it again! read more

I have been expecting some very important mail pieces and I am not receiving my mail. Tuesday was junk that I don't need or use and toss in the garbage. Wednesday - I did not get any mail at all and Today - Thursday - same thing - I did not get any mail delivery. It is so frustrating. I know substitutes do not deliver all the mail. 3 days and no mail delivery. Lodi Post Office employee called me but it is a number not in service. Thank you. Today, Monday, August 21st, I never received any mail. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be junk mail days and unless I get my packages or any mail everything will be thrown away. I do not like it when we have a substitute because they do not sort all the mail. In fact, I never saw any mail carriers in or around Lodi today and maybe it is a holiday and/or eclipse. My dad was a substitute mail carrier in another county but I get upset because I am still not getting my deliveries. Thank you. read more

What can you really review about a post office? Well I suppose the employees and at this particular location they are not really that bad. Sure they aren't wonderful, but what do you expect from some federal employees making $20+ an hour? Speed? Friendliness? Hah there is a reason the USPS is broke and that is because nobody uses them anymore aside from technology making them obsolete and their employees are pretty much always lame. If I could leave negative stars I would! I am a funeral director and one of my responsibilities is to get United States flags for our fallen veterans. The USPS provide the flags. I work in Sacramento but live in Lodi. I went by this morning to pick up flags with four flag applications and the little short lady from the back came up to me and was extremely rude and told me I'm from Sacramento and she could not issue me the flags I need for my fallen veterans funeral services that I would have to go to Sacramento. To be denied a United States flag for a veteran is unacceptable. This lady at the Lodi post office needs to be fired. She is an unhappy ugly person that should not be dealing with the public! With a flag application and an honorable discharge Anyone can get a flag at any post office!! Update: I went to the Woodbbrige post office and they were very friendly and helpful and I got my flags no problem. Side note: I talked to our postmaster in Sacramento and she said if you have a correctly filled out flag application and honorable discharge paperwork you can get a flag at any Post Office that supplies them. The witchy short lady at the Lodi Post Office lies to the public, shame on you, and I hope the United States Veterans forgive you for your dis service. Postal workers like this make it difficult for the funeral director to complete this service to the veteran and their family. Unacceptable!! read more

Was told I could not park in the parking lot even if I was going inside that if I was going to go across the street I had to drive my car across the street so anyhow I will never go into that post office again I can understand if I was not going inside the building to make a purchase but to say I had to leave and I did not even get to go inside he basically ran me off read more

I was expecting a package on a certain day and it didn't arrive. Called the post office, my carrier wasn't back yet but Mary at the post office would talk to him when he got back. I called again and Mary said, "Oh, I didn't see him. Give me your number and I'll call you in the morning." Stupid idiots don't care at all. Of course I didn't get a call in the morning. Turned out my package got delivered to the wrong house which isn't at all unusual in my neighborhood. It's amazing they've been in business this long. I guess that's what we get for having the government deliver the mail. Sheesh. read more

Mail continues to be lost, canx of checks is costly, I've always been a supporter of the Federal Employee, but I am rethinking that, and will start paying bills on line. Postmaster is very aloof, almost like one doesn't exist, as calls are never answered and is never there when I drop in. Mail carriers are routinely chatting on their phones while delivering mail, or listening to music. This obliviously effects their accuracy to deliver and pickup mail. living in Lodi , and this being the only post office in this small town does not make it better. The service here is horrible and it never seems to fail every time that I come here I am always treated so rude by workers. Mostly be the female ones... I usually go out of my way and make the drive to Galt or to Stockton where I always get way better service then this place. It is a shame that the post office has tried to raise their prices when they have staff members offering this type of so called customer service to its consumers.
