Unbelievable! All I wanted to know is my post office box number. I recently moved and transferred my number to a post office box. Unfortunately I forgot whether the last number was a 7 or a 4, so I called to find out. I needed the number to shut off my electricity, water, etc, but the lady who answered the phone had no idea how to find the answer. I'm at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, but now I have to DRIVE back up to Lake Stevens because the lady is too dumb to do her job. So everything others say here IS 100% TRUE about what is happening in Lake Stevens! Worst mail carriers in Snoho County, and no one in mgmt will do a darn thing about it!! INVESTIGATE the Lake Stevens post office, AND the Carrier Annex!!! Postal Carriers DO NOT DELIVER THE MAIL!!! Nope. They scan it as "Delivered," but they don't deliver it. Why? Cause they forgot it, and are LAZY. Then 2 days later it just "appears" in your mailbox. They forget packages in their vehicles while delivering during the day, then let 'em sit overnight, then deliver it whenever they see it sitting there, a day or two later (sometimes longer!). It is BAD w these horrible carriers... OR they get LAZY and just NOT DELIVER a parcel to your house that doesn't fit in your mailbox. They give ya the 'ol "orange notice" trick in your mailbox "Sorry We Missed You!" Nice scam! WRONG! Never even attempted a delivery. COMPLETE BULLSHIP. Some businesses/organizations start out great and then become utterly horrible. Y'all, I'm here to tell you that some places can do the opposite. The first year or two of living in Lake Stevens, I was terrified of going to the post office and had multiple pieces of mail and packages misdelivered, only to find the Postal Annex a black hole of unanswered phone calls. You could only file a missing package inquiry after a certain period of time, and when they finally called to follow up, would basically say "we can check but tbh it's very likely gone forever." THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE. The staff working the counter at the Lake Stevens Post Office this past year (when I attempted to visit again) has been phenomenal. I can only remember Sheena by name, but have been helped by 3-4 different staff throughout the past several months and every single visit has been just stellar. They are SO patient, kind, and professional - especially as I have been attempting to start a small business and figure out the wonderful world of shipping items (which is stressful in and of itself). I haven't received neighbors' mail in a long time, and as far as I know, have received all of mine. I am so appreciative of the current staff and their hard work when they are still so slammed. I never leave reviews but the service at this post office is outrageously bad. They consistently deliver our mail to the wrong house (several times a week) and lose our packages. I've called and spoken to different people 5 times now and still NO package (it's been almost a month of back and forth). Most of the people I've spoken with have been apologetic and nice but they can't seem to fix the issue. The last woman I spoke with (I couldn't catch her name) was rude like I was inconveniencing her because they didn't do their job; she didn't even apologize for being such a thorn in my side. I've never had an issue with a post office/mail delivery in my entire life- if I didn't LOVE Lake Stevens I would move just to never have to deal with them again. My advice would be to avoid using USPS as much as possible if you are in Lake Stevens, it is not worth the hassle. I'd give negative stars if I could. read more

This office is cute. Nestled among the trees on what seems to be the main strip for the city. I really like the look of the exterior. It's unlike any other office I've seen. It is missing a few letters in the sign, but nonetheless you can still tell it's a post office. It's got ample parking on all sides of the building but the town doesn't seem that big or populated where there is ever a problem finding a spot. The office was closed when I went so I didn't get to experience the customer service. Just another stop on my journey. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. I have had numerous packages that show as delivered but never receive (two in the past two weeks). I've had confidential mail that has been delivered to the wrong address. This has been going on for the entire time I have lived at my address, more than 12 years. It is so bad that when I check my mail I sort through and put back all the mail addressed to other residences before I leave my mailbox. I deliver any packages that are not mine to the correct address but do not receive the same for my packages delivered to the wrong address. I am frustrated with the money lost on purchases I never receive. I have brought this to the attention of the local post office but nothing has changed, if anything it is worse. read more

I go in there occasionally and they are usually not especially friendly or helpful. I brought in a medium sized package the other day. At first the woman told me $25 to ship, then inexplicably told me it would be $55. I told her that was more than I planned on paying and walked out. Then, I went to the little post office with Bartell's and gave their rep the same package--$25 to ship, out the door. Avoid the Lake Stevens post office if you have anything you need to ship where you need some help. They would have cost me $30. read more

The worst I've ever experienced! Avoid USPS in Lk Stevens at all costs. I've lived in Lk Stevens for 2yrs. In the past 2yrs I've had 4 different items go missing. All items show as "Out for Delivery" or "Delivered" but they never make it. I have a secured mailbox and video surveillance to ensure they were not lifted from my porch. There customer service at the location is absolutely terrible. The lady working didn't seem to mind her driver lost my passport and birth certificate that showed as "Out for Delivery" for many weeks. It seems as if they don't care at all about there customers nor have any sort of real recourse for a lost item. read more

Tried getting passport photos and a form that the US Passport Agency Office in Seattle told me every post office is supposed to carry and the lady was very rude and kept saying "we just don't do it, go somewhere else." Every other post office in the county provides these upon request. read more

The mailman doesn't know I work from home, so when I go to my mailbox day after day and find "Sorry we missed you!" Letters for a piece of mail bag required my signature, you could imagine my surprise. The mailman never attempted to deliver once, but rather felt like taking the lazy way out. Crazy. I have literally brought a package in and my gal Told me if I used a certain box Bought there tape and repacked it would save me $60. Worst mail "service" I have ever experienced. 9 to 5 M-F are the operating hours of an INCONVENIENCE store. I guess they think nobody around Lake Stevens actually has a job. So when they refuse to deliver your mail or package for any number of asinine reasons, you get to take time off work to go get your mail. Complete lack of consideration for anybody's time and efforts. What a joke. Sure Amazon can ship it next day, but then it will sit in the Post Office for a week until you can take time off work to get there. They should, at the very least, be open on Saturday. read more

I have to give all the ladies that work here props for their effort in locating my package. I had an item sent to me certified mail, I got a notice on the 15th of an attempt to deliver and that it was the final notice. I scheduled a re-delivery for the 20th. I made sure to be home the entire day. Package never came. Following day I call customer service to see what's up, the online tracking still shows that it's in transit and has never been updated. They tell me that they don't see any status updates either, not exactly helpful, and that I should just go to my local USPS. They also say that there was an attempted delivery on the 10th, to which I never received any notice. I go there, and yes it's the holidays so it's busy, but I will say that the overall lack of organization was surprising. They didn't have nearly the amount of help on staff that day and the ladies were running around rather ragged. So I appreciate their help. At this point I think they have just lost my item. Which is frustrating. Not sure what else to say. They could do with an overhaul of their system here. Being a small town is no real excuse. read more

I've been going here for years but no more. Let me preface my story with the fact that there's signs and regulations in pace everywhere for people to wear a mask and stay six feet apart. There's also the current capacity rules that only allow six people in the lobby at a time. There's been around a dozen every time that I've gone. Last week I went and there was a guy in the lobby with no mask just talking and trying to touch people. The employees didn't kick him out and still served him. There was also an extremely elderly man who was walking slowly and the guy behind him started screaming and swearing at him to hurry up. This angry man was still served. Then today I went in again. This teenaged girl was standing way too close to me, at one point her arm touched mine so I politely asked her to step back a little bit. She refused. I pointed at the tape on the ground that specifies where you're supposed to stand to help keep everyone safe. She still refused and then shoved me. She was still served. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A SAFE LOCATION TO GO. Any business that just allows violence without consequence is not okay. You need an employee making sure the capacity is at the proper limits AND make sure people are behaving. This is just ridiculous. Once I finally made it to check out the man had the audacity to try to sell me random things I don't need. I was just physically harassed in your lobby from your lack or supervision and you did nothing about it. No I don't want your products. read more

Least effective and least polite post office I've ever visited. Je***te is especially aggressive and rude whether you're an old lady asking a question or a young lady who prefers to drop off her ballot in the ballot box across the street (she gave me attitude because I didn't want to hand it over to the "trusty" usps for them to lose). I inquired about mailing my package via flat rate priority and she told me they don't have those. They are clearly promoted on the wall. And every other post office even the one inside Bartells offers them (because there is no other source for USPS flat rates except for ordering them and waiting for them to arrive via mail) When she was done helping customers I watched her go in the back and attempt to toss a package up into the giant cart. Then I heard the crashing of it hit the floor. "Wonderful care" of packages after "wonderful service". I would avoid this location at all costs! read more

For the last three years we have been getting our mail late and shipments late. The Mail carrier who delivers our mail gives us other peoples mail at least three times a week. He/she has also delivered our mail to other addresses who are similar. I think it's time for that person to retire. I had a package that was 'guaranteed' to be delivered by 8:00pm tonight and it's only 6 minutes away from that. These guys really need to get off the 'I have a Government job. Horrid customer service. Complete shit. The older woman with the light brown-ish/white-ish hair is a complete asshole. She is either racist or just being a bitch to me for no reason. She refused to help me with cashing in my postal money order. I tried 4 days, and each time I went, she automatically said they didn't have any money to give me. I then asked if I came at a later time during the day, if they would have any. She said yes. Keep in mind it was only $50. Each time I kept coming in, she would automatically say she had no money, so I asked her to ask the woman(her co-worker) beside her, and she sighed very rudely and said she doesn't have any either, so I said again, can you ask her? And she asked and she asked in a way that was already answering the question for her. "You don't have enough money to cash a money order, right?" By this time I was sure it was just because she didn't like me; so I had written a postal money order for a friend at the everett post office and the next day I went in, what do you know, she took one look at me and had the worst look on her face like she despised me, and automatically again said no. So I left and my friend went in and she gave her the money for the exact same amount. Will never go here ever again. Disgusting woman. All this, and not to mention how damn slow their service is. There are two extremely unpleasant ladies that work here who never fail to give me a hard time when I try to mail a package. They do things like refusing to sell me insurance because they don't think I used thick enough cardboard or refusing to ship my package because it's a beer box or telling me my label isn't taped on well enough. Yes like others have written, Lake Stevens Post Office is not the friendliest place to ship packages from, nor is customer service a major priority for at least one of the clerks behind the counter that needs to retire, but have had similar experiences with Snohomish too~ They are federal 'union' employees and therefore have a job whether they are doing a good job, with or without a smile, or not. I usually get what I want, only because I am an experienced shipper as I own my own business, so I know what and how parcels should be packed and how much it will cost before I ever enter the office. I'm not afraid to speak my mind, even have had them recalibrate their scale when it was wrong. Rude attitude from the elderly redheaded woman (Jeanette) is a given, she has to be an unhappy person herself to have as much contempt for people the way she does; she even talks smack about customers and co-workers behind their backs on a regular basis with her favorite customers across the counter. If possible try to talk with Kate, she is reasonable, kind and helpful as best she can, but then considering who she works with, she has bad days too, so try to be patient with her. If you are a thin skinned person, you might possibly leave this place crying in despair. Be strong, stand up, and ask for the postmaster if necessary! Good luck! read more

Worst post office ever. My mail guy pays no mind to packages that say "DO NOT BEND". Tonight put me over the top when my Diploma came in a hard folder which stated "DO NOT BEND" on the front which he basically folded in half to fit in my mail box. This isn't the first time either, it has been done to photo packages as well. LAZIEST MAIL MAN EVER!!!!!! and you wonder why I leave treats and gifts for the garbage guys who "go out of their way". Very bad customer service. I can't open my mail box. I called the office for solutions and advise. After multiple calls and visits to the post office, I can say I have had a very bad experience and I whish I did not need them. I asked if the mail carrier could leave my mail box open for me to fix it, and they said they are not obligated to do that. I said, I was asking for a favor because I need to fix the mail box by myself, and I can't be sure I will be there when the carrier arrives because I have kids and have to pick them up at school, etc. I was asking for a favor and they kept saying they are not obligated to do that. Then I asked them if they could remove my mail from the box and take it to the post office (because I still can't open my mailbox) and after a week they did not do it. It is very frustrating.
