His car was paid off so they ended up totaling it and he's now navigating the process of paperwork. He was unsure how to fill out his paperwork, and I guess brought the papers into the notary blank. She very kindly helped him through the process of filling out the paperwork, getting it notarized and getting it mailed off. I appreciate her kindness immensely and wanted to make sure it was acknowledged. My dads words: "Everything went well... The person was very nice and experienced... Explained everything and helped me fill out papers... The lady helping me was the Notary and knew all about what I had to do... She even knew how the mailing label was supposed to work... I was happy with the service..." So if anyone is looking for a notary on island this sounds like the lady you want to have helping you!

After waiting for an hour, the woman on the line told me that the address on the label was correct, and there was no reason except for USPS' incompetence that the package should have been returned to sender. By the way, USPS don't hold packages for even 24 hours, so if they are too lazy to get out of their car and deliver a package, you have no recourse. (It's immediately diverted; the tracking number itself is quickly expunged.) They can simply lie and get away with it, vacuuming up public funds and cushy benefits, for work that would get them fired for incompetence anywhere else. USPS is nothing but a welfare program for idiotic black women who would be unemployable otherwise, and I hope the postal service is gutted, and they're all fired for their laziness, incompetence, and disrespect for customers and their packages.

There isn't a lot of parking but the town is small so you may even be able to park on the side of the road and walk up to the post office. The post office is combined with the general store and kind of reminds me somewhat of a community meeting place as people come and go to get their wares, mail packages, pick up snacks and fellowship with the others in the community. I also liked that you can see the water from the post office. There isn't a lot there structurally, but naturally it's just so quaint and homey. We used have 24/7 access to our PO Box but now we have 44 hours a week and are paying the same price for the limited service. It will be closed until further notice without any exceptions. This is especially frustrating to us because we don't frequent places with a lot public activity due to health issues. Also, greatly impacted are commuters who don't return home on the ferry until after 5 PM and generally leave much earlier that 8 AM to catch a ferry the following day. This is really unacceptable and not good service for the community. A better solution needs to be found for the sake of everyone.

The post office is a very important part of the community, and the last post office built there was decades ago and is now outdated. My mother, Elsie Swan Olkonen facilitated getting the present post office with the help of U.S. Senator Henry M (Scoop) Jackson, who by the way was my godfather. Scoop saw the need for a new post office and that need now exists again for a new and better post office. My parents needed to get a post office box in the post office since before I was ten years old. That was because of their regular mailbox being destroyed regularly on the route, and they lived less than a mile from the current post office. I have the same PO Box and number to this day and own the historic family farm just up from the post office. I worked odd hours and haven't been able to access my PO Box regularly for months because of the locked doors to the post office. That is not acceptable, and a long drive to the Langley or Freeland post offices in not a viable option. Clinton needs a new post office as soon as possible.
