I wish a huge meteor would strike the entire facility. This is the 4th time my packages go through this office's sorting facility and 3rd time it's getting lost. I will surely call a couple newspapers as they can do an interesting story with the provided comments. I am sure those packages are being stolen. There's no way you can lose 3 packages out of 4 and delay the other one for 2 weeks. It's guaranteed that the package will be delayed. And it's %75 likely to get lost. This office is consistent on their stupid bad work. Hope they all die in a fire. read more

How in the hell did this place get 4 stars on Yelp? I urge everyone here to click the following link to the yellow pages complaint board ( http://www.yellowpages.com/kearny-nj/mip/usps-united-states-post-office-kearny-4009012 ) and see all the people who have lost packages in this particular post office! I truly don't understand how nothing has been done with all the complaints listed of missing mail. There is obviously some type of mail theft ring happening inside of this facility!! They are stealing packages and getting away with it. Can't we all band together and email all the news organizations like ABC FOX NBC to make an investigation on them? Or contact a lawyer for a class action lawsuit? This is absolutely outrageous that they are getting away with this!! You can add me to the list because my package was lost on Monday. Here is the tracking: First-Class Package Service Processed through USPS Sort Facility September 2, 2013, 4:09 pm KEARNY, NJ 07099 Depart USPS Sort Facility September 1, 2013 KEARNY, NJ 07099 Processed through USPS Sort Facility September 1, 2013, 2:35 am KEARNY, NJ 07099 Electronic Shipping Info Received August 30, 2013 Depart USPS Sort Facility August 30, 2013 CINCINNATI, OH 45234 Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility August 29, 2013, 9:43 pm CINCINNATI, OH 45234 Accepted at USPS Origin Sort Facility August 29, 2013, 8:28 pm COVINGTON, KY 41011 It stopped dead at Kearny on September 2 and it hasn't moved since. When it passed through the other post offices it went through fine but it stopped at Kearny. So this isn't an entire flawed system it's just the Kearny, NJ location. THIS IS MY THIRD PACKAGE LOST THROUGH THIS HELL HOLE OF A POST OFFICE. Something has to be done or they will continue getting away with this. I urge everyone here who has been burned by this place to contact all the news outlets ABC FOX CBS to conduct an investigation against these thieves so that no one else goes through the frustration we went through! I know that 20/20 and 60 minutes LOVE these type of investigations because it brings in the ratings. I will be emailing all of them TODAY and I urge you do as well. You could also do those local news segments like Help Me Howard who help their viewers with problems they may have. My point is anything that can be done is better than nothing. I will make it my mission to expose this SCAM OF A POST OFFICE and its SCAM EMPLOYEES to the light of day! I will never use USPS again and I hope they go bankrupt and go the way of the dodo bird. =========================================================== P.S. I'm also going to paste here the Postmaster's information. The current postmaster of Kearny, NJ, Hudson County, appointed 10/20/2012, is noted to be: PAUL R. So many people are badmouthing this location because the tracking number info always says that the package is stuck or delayed at the Kearny, NJ facility in zip code 07032. Well, that tracking info is NOT referring to this Midland Ave Kearny NJ office, it is referring to the large Newark Airport USPS facility which is also located in Kearny, NJ and is unrelated to this tiny Midland Avenue office. The Newark Airport USPS facility is NOT open to the public. Just to clarify, this Kearny NJ post office is located in 64 Midland Ave, Kearny, NJ 07032. The Newark Airport USPS facility is at 1200 Harrison Ave, Kearny, NJ 07032 and is NEVER open to the public. All mail that enters or leaves the state of NJ via airplane will go through the Newark Airport facility and not this small 64 Midland Ave office that everyone is erroneously complaining about!!! Please do not blame the 64 Midland Ave staff for Newark Airport Kearny office problems shown on your tracking info. I'm tired of standing in line at this post office while waiting for misinformed customers to finish ranting about how the tracking info says that the package is stuck or delayed by this Midland Ave post office. read more

Had 9 packages scheduled to be delivered a few days ago. One of them was actually delivered/received. When I went to track the others it said that all 9 packages were delivered at the same time and left on my porch. I don't have a porch, just 2 stairs leading up to my house on a busy street. I called USPS numerous times and they told me since it says that they were delivered there isn't much they can do. Next time I'll have a carrier owl deliver my stuff read more

There's something wrong with this USPS sorting facility. Every time my package gets sorted through this place, the delivery is delayed by 2 or more days. They need to get their act together. read more

my package was mailed from fairfield, nj and has been stuck in kearny for 5 days now. i live in NYC. The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. The Postal Service has identified a problem with the processing of this item at 2:27 am on August 5, 2015 in KEARNY, NJ 07099. The local facility has been alerted and is taking steps to correct the problem. read more

Wish I could rate this minus 100 zeros. Mailed a package on 1/29/16 from Ararat VA. On same day it made it to Roanoke VA. On 1/31/16 it got to Kearny NJ. There it sits waiting to get to Hudson NY. I called PO 800 number to no avail, called Ararat to no avail. Tried to call Kearny PO no answer or busy signal. This post office sucks. Now I have written a letter to my congressman. Its not the first time with mail issues read more

Lost (or stolen). Mailed a Priority 2nd day package in a large Post office padded mailing bag from Princeton. Tracking shows Kearny, NJ same day, then gone....... read more

This is crazy I sent out a priority delivery box which unfortunately had an incorrect number on the street address, rather than checking the local info for an address correction the box was returned to sender and has been stuck in the Kearny, NJ sorting facility for days with no further tracking info. Forget the Bermuda Triangle this seems to be the largest black hole in the universe. A box that went out via UPS with the same address problem was redirected to the correct street number and delivered the same day. This will be the last time I use USPS to ship anything, works fine until there is a problem and then you are screwed. read more

I have never had problems with USPS before. However, I now have to send my mortgage payment to a company in Newark from Philadelphia. The past two months I have used 2-day priority shipping with tracking. The first time the payment was stuck at the Kearny sorting facility for five days. This time it has been a week since it arrived in Kearny without being updated. If you have to mail to a PO box in the area, this is a difficult situation since even UPS and FedEx utilize USPS to deliver. I would advise others to try to avoid using USPS that passes through this post office if possible. read more

I was expecting a package from Germany that ended up getting sorted at this post office, and then it just dropped off the face of the Earth I guess. That was back on November 8th of last year. After it didn't move for a week I put out a research on it, to which they could only say it PROBABLY got picked by customs for inspection because it was from outside the country, and that I would have to wait 45 days for it to be considered truly delayed. Keep in mind they said PROBABLY, as in they didn't know for sure. Apparently when customs pulls stuff they don't let anyone know, you're just supposed to assume they have it. But even if they pulled it I doubt it would take them two minutes to figure out what it was, an electronic part for an old Porsche, worth about $200.00, and send it on it's way. Eventually I got the sender to issue an official inquiry from Germany, and only this evening did they get a response-that it has been officially declared lost, and he, and I am being reimbursed. So I guess the lesson is that if there's a chance that anything might make it's way to this post office, if it's something you care about, send it DHL or UPS!! read more

I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE ISN'T A ZERO STAR OPTION!! I had a 2oz small package returned to me for improper postage and wrong shipping method. I own a small business and have shipped over 5,000 of these packages in the past with the same dimensions and price only for this "BLACK HOLE" of a post office to send it back to me. I actually called acting as a customer and described my product dimensions and asked if it fit the criteria to ship it "first class package." The lady said YES. I then asked why my package had been returned to me if this was true. She quickly said she didn't handle that area and transferred me to another (indian) guy named "Abraham" that was in all accounts the "RUDEST" postal employee I have ever spoken too. He wouldn't even let me talk, denied I was even calling the right post office and put me on hold to talk to his supervisor. The supervisor "Ed" was more helpful and asked me to send him pictures of the package so that he could see if he could help. I have yet to hear back from him. INTERESTING JUMP TO CONCLUSION BELOW There are MANY occurrences of this post office losing packages, this is why it has been called the "black hole" of post offices. In talking to the supervisor "Ed" he confided in me that he ships many packages around the world through his eBay store and understands my frustration in dealing with postal issues. Maybe if someone that reads this had a package go missing, you should look into finding an eBay store with a location out of Kearny area that may be selling a product similar to the one you never received. Just saying. read more

The Kearny, NJ 07032 USPS staff consists of liars that will tell you anything to keep you at bay. Also if you call they will tell you there is an extension, I believe 2037 that will help you as far as delivery and packages well guess what no matter how early you call no one ever picks up and when they do decide to answer they will transfer you over to the same extension where no ONE picks up redundant right? One representative will tell you hey I seen that your package has left our facility so the carrier should be on its way to you (emphasis on should). Truth be told from my experiences with USPS it seems when the package goes through Kearny 07099 you have a better chance of receiving it the day it is supposed to be delivered but the 07032 will take time about an extra day or two. Unfortunately no matter how many times you call or how many buttons of extensions you press nothing can be done on your part besides patience and alerting others to this kind of crap. $5.95 for priority mail delivery and I don't feel like they make or made it a priority now don't get me wrong I'm not the complaining type I usually just roll with the punches but I don't like being lied to with the shoulds and maybes when its guaranteed and paid for that it should arrive on a specific date mind you there are no holidays or weather issues to cause this buffoonery so yeah I HAVE EVERY REASON TO BE PISSED but in the mean time I will continue to warn others. read more

I wish I could give a negative review and -50 stars. One would think as has been said previously in the 20+ other bad reviews, that someone would do something about this pathetic place. I order from eBay and from NY and NJ alot and I know once something hits here you may not see it for weeks and you may not see it ever again. My package came thru here via New Brunswick the other day and instead of it coming to Maryland it was routed to North Dakota that was 6 days ago and now it's lost. I started to call but realized these inconsiderate incompetent idiots will pass the buck or just say "I don't know what happened." In January NY and NJ shut down early because of threat of a snow storm the storm passed but my package stayed at Kearney for 5 days after talking to some idiot on the phone I decided never to call again. If I order anything form NY or NJ I'm gonna beg that they use UPS and I would recommend anybody else to do the same. read more

i'd give this post office 0 stars if possible! i sent out about 100 wedding invitations from another post office. had them weighed and measured and bought postage based on what i was told. every invitation reached its destination from local to the other side of the country and international in 1-3 business days except for 2 towns that were only 2 towns away from where i mailed them!!! those happened to be the only towns processed by this post office before reaching their final destination! two towns - 20 invitations worth of people confused and upset their invitations didn't arrive including my fiancé's parents!!!!! now i have to resend them at my added expense for their laziness and lack of work ethic!!! i'm beyond angry!!! do not use this post office for anything!!!!! read more

I sent a first class mail from Fort Lee, NJ post office on Feb. 5, 2016 at approx. 2:13 PM. I was assured that the mail will be delivered on Feb. 8th, postal clerk said first class mails normally take 2-3 days. I even paid extra postage for tracking service. It's Feb. 19th today, my mail is still not delivered to the recipient in Hackensack, NJ. Every day that I checked the tracking status, it shows "Departed USPS facility - Kearny, NJ 07099". For your reference, Hackensack, NJ is only 5.5 miles (13 mins. drive if I have a car) away from Fort Lee, NJ! Everyone that I have spoken to on the phone & in person within USPS showed no interest in helping me locate my mail saying "it's out of their hands". My envelope contains important, irreplaceable, time sensitive documents. I guess I was stupid to trust USPS will take care of this for me. How can a domestic mail (within NJ) takes this long to be delivered is beyond my comprehension? I wonder how long will it take if I send something ground service??? read more
