12 Days to mail first class from New Jersey to Detroit And its still not here.... "The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. Horrible service, really nasty people working there. Can't even do a favor of putting a piece of tape for my package. They always give a hard time every time you walk in there. Instead of making it simple like it should be. read more

If it was possible to give negative stars I would. The level of incompetence is unbelievable. I paid for overnight shipping to California for my mother's birthday, it was about 24 dollars. these idiots never wrote the street address on the mailing label so it was shipped to the town only. When I confronted them about what happened I was told oh well it happens. Also, I've caught the mailman stealing my victoria secret reward coupons and when I told the post office they said it could have been a neighbor. This branch needs to be closed or management needs to take over. read more

I have had a lot of crummy experiences at Post Offices (as I think many people have). They think they can close 10 minutes early, treat you rudely, send you back for small pieces of paper that you didn't grab during your long wait in the line (even when they have the same paper sitting right next to them) and STILL collect a huge pension check for the rest of their lives. Well John and Co. at this post office do a good job of speedy service, and while they don't all smile at you, at least they aren't as rude as other postal workers. Is this a review by comparison? Yes, it unabashedly is. John will engage you in a friendly way--asking not only if you want stamps, but also if you want lotto tickets (they don't sell lotto tickets, but it sure gets your attention!). They've helped me track down packages, retook our passport photos when the company that actually took them for us gypped us (you can read that review, too--and my nasty letter to the chamber of commerce). and gotten me in and out in a reasonable time without closing for lunch (I thought ALL post offices closed for 2 hours at lunch!) If you're in Kearny, give it a try. And you'd better hurry, I don't know how much longer the USPS is going to be around. read more

I'm getting pretty scared reading all these comments. So my package starting shipping on May 31 Fairview New Jersey. I live in Los Angeles so I don't know anything about this place. I was expecting to get my package in around 3-6 days because it is only a 4 day drive from NJ to CA. But in those 3 days, all the package moved was from Fairview to Kearny. It took 3 days to move from one post office to the next in the same state! Now, its been sitting at Kearny for 3 days and hoping to get it by today since it says expected delivery is 6/6 even my package is sitting on the opposite of the country. Maybe they didn't record the departure? Hoping..... its also a First Class Package. Package has been stuck for almost a week now here with no updates. Was supposed to get it days ago.

I guess being able to read is no longer a requirement for the postal carriers. The female that was filling in for John on the NA noel / schuyler route is one nasty ... I have a brand new mail box with lock. My landlord on the other had has a old broken mail box that is hanging by a wire tie. I saw that she was trying to jam all of my landlords catologs plus thier mail in to my box. I asked her to stop that she was putting the wrong mail in the wrong box. She got really nasty so I asked her to leave the property. She then said why do you want to push me down the stairs. She clearly was over worked and was looking to fight. Instead of apologizing for nearly breaking my mail box with all of my landlords junk mail. John if you get to read this we need to talk. This female worker is one nasty postal worker. read more

Awful. Same experience as many others. Second attempt at sending letter that is notarized final docs to sell my condo in Bayonne. Seconds that were sent notarized, I've tracked them they were out for delivery three days ago in Kearny. The good news is after I unload this place, I will be done with New Jersey. Good luck to the rest of you. Damn I'm gonna have to go over there in person. New Jersey is awful. read more

They lost a package after leaving a certified letter. They don't know where it is. Some guy, who answered the phone there, said he would look into and and get back to me in a half of an hour . He promptly forgot and apologized the following morning when I called back. He repromised to look into it again and call me back. then forgot again to call me back. When I called back a fourth time, They told me it must have been sent back to the "sender" although I still have two weeks to claim it. Then they (well some lady) told me "we don't know where it is, file a complaint on line". Which online does not let me. Says I am not eligible for a redelivery either. What a shit show. I am going up there to file a complaint with them. read more

WHY IS GODS NAME IS THIS PLACE STILL OPEN!!! Who is in charge here? And who is in charge of that guy? Please find out and FIRE THEM!!!! Every single package that i get goes through here, and every single one is delayed. Everything! First class, priority, overnight, anything! Ive had packages sit here for days, weeks, and months. Yes i said months. I had a package sit here for 64 days once!!! Your employees here must be the laziest people on the face of the earth. How does a package just disappear? It was scanned into your building, and now its gone? That means someone stole it you idiots! Its because of places like this that the USPS is failing and within 10 years will no longer be around. You keep raising your prices and your shipping services SUCK! I MEAN TOTALLY SUPER MEGA SUCK!!!! God forbid someone around there do some actual work and actually straighten out the place! Those lazy employees are so lucky im not in charge over there. I could probably run the place faster working by myself. read more

Super bad! I see through some investigating on the internet that I'm not the only person to mail something, have it go to the Kearny, NJ sorting facility and have my package never leave the facility!. This place should be investigated. Sent a package from NJ to WI. Left my post office, sent to Kearny the next day and tracking shows that it has been there since August 17th and today is August 23rd. Tried to call USPS and the only thing that happened there was the game of phone tag. I couldn't talk to anyone. Only the automated run around. This is why the Post Office will soon be a thing of the past. If the government can't run a business what is it telling us about everything else they do. So sad. read more

I ordered something online. It took 2 days to get to NY from SPAIN. It spent 7 days in the NY sorting facility, then went onto the Kearny 07302 facility for 3 days. Now it is in ANOTHER Kearny sorting facility (07099) for 3 more days so far. So if you're paying attention it took less than 2 days for my package to travel almost 4,000 miles, and now the package has been within 10 miles of my home for 13 days, SO FAR. WTF!!!!!! Kearny must indeed be a black hole. This is unacceptable. The problem is the last Postal employees to receive a Gov't pension were hired back in the 80's. The employees were also told that the US postal service is being shut down & privatized soon, so they don't give a rat's ass about anyones mail. This is a shame. Maybe Pitney Bowes will care. It's not right, these are Government employees being treated like shit, so, in turn, they are taking it out on our mail. The whole situation is not right. Oh yea, in summation the Kearny Post Office Sucks! read more

I ordered two different items from CA to be delivered to me in NY. Well, they ended up in Kearny NJ and never left. I asked someone at the office why this happened and she told me that there was a holiday weekend and a lot of snow which caused a lot of the workers not to come to work. Even though they received my 2 parcels before the holiday weekend, they've been stuck there for 2.5 weeks. This is not the first time this has happened to me because of this inept post office, and from the looks of things, it won't be the last. read more

This whole season I've been losing packages at the Kearny sorting facility. I follow the tracking closely when I order things online, and sometimes things will sit here for up to a week! On one occasion, a package came here, sat around for a few days, and then traveled 60 miles away (I live two towns over from Kearny, I could walk there in about 20 minutes.). Many of my Christmas gifts were late. When I tried calling customer service, they assured me things were fine and nothing was wrong. I just opened an etsy store and my customers are not pleased with how long shipping takes once things end up in Kearny. It's ridiculous. Does anyone know what post office in the area I can mail things at that are not automatically routed through Kearny? read more

Constant delivery delays. Delivery people are always chatting away on their head sets. Customer service is a hit or miss

The worst usps service ever. My package end up there with definitely not a reason to even stop by that state and now is being rotating from state to state and back to that usps in Kearny NJ. From what I heard in reviews, once it touches that usps, then is like it felt in to a black hole, most likely I will never see it again . Try calling their local phone number and that is even worst, the phone automatically rotates from agents to agents without being answered, like every times it ends ringing someone would press the skipping button. Kind of what happened to my package. If you have time to call the number to se how ridiculous this is, then go ahead (201) 246- 2037 read more

I have been dealing with Kearny NJ office for years when I say NIGHTMARE, I MEAN NIGHTMARE!!! This is the worst of the worst, I purchased something from eBay it did not fit, I printed a prepaid label package was suppose to go to Dallas TX, my package is stuck in Kearny, now I live in Roselle, and I believe they are sending the package back to me, how dumb can you get! I want to report them to someone but get the run around!!! My poor local office gets all the complaints here in Roselle and they have nothing to do with it, they are all great, it is a shame no one can even get through to a live person to get help there....bad business!!! This post office is the worse. My grandfather sent a package for me 2 weeks ago tomorrow which originated from the Coram NY post office well the usps tracker stops at the kearney location in which the package was lost after that. I call everyday but mind you as soon as the clock strikes 9 they take the phone off the hook until quitting time. Update: 4/7/2016 The package was not sucked by the blackhole. was delivered on 4/7 but it stayed in Kearny for 3 days *********** ok.. Reading all the horror stories below. Mine is just beginning..I have an international package coming. but look at the tracking...I live in Hoboken, NJ, so the package came into Kennedy airport then went all the way to Albany and now is in the black hole at Kearny. It says departed Kearny on April 3, 2016 at 7:36 pm. Since Hoboken in about 5 miles away, I was expecting it to reach on April 4 or even April 5. Still waiting on the update. Also, this package cannot be intercepted, or claim be filed are its first class international tracking. The services are not eligible for this type of mailing. so waiting with fingers crossed. Post office is good! Especially the two older gentleman that are clerks there. They are extremely helpful. The rest of the clerks are extremely impatient and rude. The worst is my mail man. We live down the street from the Greeks. Many many many times he puts ppl's mail in our box that don't live there. Even though we have put all our names on the mail boxes. Numerous times he put Schuyler Ave mail in our box on Elm St. Have gone into speak to the manager numerous times and he is no help. When he puts the wrong mail in our box, if I leave it out for him to take back he will just leave it for a month at a time. We all work full time so we don't always have time to go to the Post office because he is incompetent and lazy. Maybe he needs to get off his cell phone and stop cursing and actually do his simple job. He is a young African American man in his 30s and we have spoke to him to no avail. He is extremely rude and ignorant. This has been going on for 10 years yet he still has his highly coveted job. read more

I would give Kearny a negative review if it were possible. This place should be shut down NOW. This is the tracking information I have received from the USPS for a package I recently had sent to me. The package was accepted by the USPS on 11/25. It got to Kearny on 11/27. It is now 12/16 and STILL HAS NOT GOTTEN TO ME. I am in New Brunswick. This is a common trend I've had with over 50% of the items I have shipped to my house in New Brunswick. Please, please, PLEASE fix your service! This is disgusting.
