Just like any other post office, but this one I think was the main hub for all of Irvine. I only came here when I would buy stuff off of ebay or whatever online, I'd miss the delivery because I was at work, so I opted to go pick it up. I like how they have a seperate line for those people who are picking up packages. I just need to give them the piece of paper they left on my door, show them my ID, and within a couple of minutes, they return to the window with my package. Service seems to be at par with other post offices I've been to. I guess they train their people well and consistently. I AM PISSED! AND I MEAN PISSED!!! This particular review is for YOU...newbie on the block. I've been going here for years now and most of the employees are pretty helpful & awesome. Percy isn't always the warmest. I accidently paid for Priority when I meant to pay First Class. Frick, I'm only human. 1st time I have ever done that. So I inquired if it was possible to cancel and redo. So MIZ 50 something ginger short hair with glasses says yes until I mention it's a credit card transaction. So she says no. Okay, whatever. So I say "Friggin government". I didn't say "You", "Your Office" or any particular word to blame them. I was frustrated because the government is set up like a dinosaur when it comes to technology and this was my personal opinion & statement. I'm bummed. SOOOO, you know what proceeds to happen?... GINGER SAYS "it's not our fault your pressed the wrong buttom". WTF WTH WTF WTH!!!?? FACEPALM. HOW DARE YOU!! I wasn't even talking to her. Nor was that a statement directed at her. First off, I really try my hardest not to give bad reviews. Because I understand that some people just have an off day or things are funky but this place I am making the exception for because I am still just completly shocked by the service I had. First off I walked in around noon which I understand its lunch time people are busy, I had an hour lunch so I wasnt too worried, I figured a half hour for lunch gone isnt so bad. I got there and there was only 2 people in line, which I thought was great the line moved quickly and the people behind the counter seemed freidnly, smiling and everything. I had very good vibes going in so I had a big smile on my face. When it was my turn to go up to the counter I was greeted kindly then showed her my package. I was mailing a small 9x6 envelope to canada. nothing fragil or anything just some fabric samples, then their mood completly changed. The lady helping me got very fustrated and stated i needed to fill out 3 forms first, so I was like ok thats fine no problem. Excused myself from the line and filled out the forms. Came back and waited in line again and as it was coming to my turn again the lady helping me before spotted me and started chatting with the person she was helping suddenly slow. They were just dropping off stuff and he was ready to take off, but she was like oh let me show you this and this. I figured I might have been paranoid so I just let it go, another gentleman helped me when suddenly she realized it she waved the man off she was talking to slowly and helped quickly the next person (oh well). The guy helping me then was confused and very fustrated also that i filled out so many forms. he was like you dont need this or this just this. It wasn't my mistake i only filled out what was asked of me. it was a small flat 9x6 envelope going to canada really, i didnt think it was going to be that big of a deal. he also sighed alot when typing in my info then lectured me on why i dont mail priority even though it would have cost me $20 more. then as he handed me the reciet, i said thank you and he just say "yea whatever, next in line" like really? Even though I was sour in my head I still smiled and said thank you and I recieved a whatever. Moving myself and my business to an area controlled by this post office is proving to be the worst decision I have ever made for my business. I have had the pleasure of working with 3 other post offices in various parts of the country before working with Irvine, and all were excellent to work with. Previous post offices I have worked with picked up packages on time, communicated well with me, and worked with me whenever an issue came up to make sure it never happened again. The same cannot be said about this post office. 1. They do not answer their phone. In addition, no one at the post office believes me when I say they do not pick up the phone. When I was overseas and this post office didn't pickup my shipment as they were supposed to (more on that later) my wife and I ended up calling them 400 times over 3 days. They answered the phone 4 of those times, a 1% answer rate. And no, there is no voicemail. 2. I ship product once a month. Of the 4 times I have scheduled a pickup, never ONCE have they come to pick up the product without action from me. That is an incredible amount of incompetence. 3. They lie to me when I ask for an explanation. For instance, they told me one time that they didn't pick up the packages because I had the wrong apartment number. If they had actually gone to that apartment they would have seen 300 packages labeled and ready to go not even 10 feet away. Clearly, it's an excuse for incompetence. In addition, they had already ignored 2 pickup requests the 2 days prior that had the correct apartment. Everyone there wants to blame someone else, including me. 4. Even when they pick up the packages, they don't scan and ship them day-of. Sometimes they take more than 24 hours to get to them all. This often means my customers wait an addition 2 days because of this branch. 5. I called the regional office and left a voicemail complaining about my local post office. At least they had a voicemail. However, they never returned my calls. There is no accountability. I'm not sure if this office is poorly managed, poorly staffed, underfunded or some other combination of those, but I have never had a business treat a customer that gives them so much money so poorly. Now I'm sitting with 150 packages outside my door, and I know they won't be coming to pick it up. They haven't answered the phone, and I've emailed the branch manager and several other managers and haven't gotten a response. These packages will sit for an additional 3 days because Monday is a holiday, despite working until 1am last night to make sure they were ready for pickup. What a waste of work. I will soon have customers emailing me complaining that their coffee hasn't arrived yet. Some will cancel. Others I will give discounts to to appease. I have lost thousands of dollars and no one at this post office cares. I have never made a worse decision in my life than moving to an area controlled by this office. read more

I feel anxious every time I walk in this place....like going into the DMV and you know its going to be a stressful and painful process kinda way. I usually go once or twice a week, not because I'm a closet masochist, but because I eBay a ton of stuff, and work a regular 8-5 nearby this PO. So this is one of my only choices for mailing stuff out. There is usually someone directing traffic in the lobby because it gets so congested in there. Ummm, most of us have been to Disneyland, I think we know how to stand in line....maybe he should jump back there and help get some of these people get on their way by PROCESSING THEIR PACKAGES/MAIL! My parents live around the corner so I've been to this location numerous times. Every single time the line was long and the service just awful. This was my last time stepping foot in this location. I will drive to any other location before going back to this place. The native american clerk is the worst, racist and rude every time. This has to be the most awkward post office ever. I have the misfortune of being served by this USPS branch. I went to go pick up my mail after a vacation hold. Well, I told them I was there and waited and waited. Then 30 minutes went by and kept reminding the clerks there that I am at the window. They kept saying "someone is coming" but of course no one came. There is a buzzer you can ring but the only thing the buzzer does is sound a bell, but it doesn't make anyone appear. Then the manager came out and she helped everyone in line, mind you who have come long after me, to use the self service station. She saw me standing there now for a good 45 minutes but of course she wouldn't assist. Then I walked up to her. "I've been waiting and asking for assistance for 45 minutes, did you not see us?" her" Well, we asre busy" Me: "but you were helping customers who just got her" Her: silence me: Well you should be aware of who is standing in your lobby and we have been requesting assisstance, asking for help and ringning the bell Her: No apology said the Asian Manager She ran to get my mail and she found it within 15 seconds. I signed for it and I was on my way. Waste of a lunch hour. Oh, and the male employee with the long pony tail hair. He decided to show me an obscene video on his iphone youtube Video. I love this place because it's one of the only post offices in Irvine close to my area that is open late. The one by campus SUCKS because of the hours and it's really small compared to this one. Place is usually empty or short lines at most whenever I come here. I would give this place a 4 or 5 but the asian lady that helped me was very rude and grumpy!! No one particularly enjoys going to the post office, but this one is the worst post office we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We will often travel down to the Sand Canyon office rather than deal with this location, however that is not always possible. This morning my daughter needed 4 stamps to take with her to camp. She needed to be at school by 8:30 so we opted to go to this post office as it is just a few blocks away. We arrived at 7:30 this morning, however after waiting 50 minutes we finally had to leave without the stamps as there were still 2 customers in front of me at 8:20. My daughter is disappointed she will be unable to mail her letters but that was the only option beside missing her bus. In hindsight it would have been faster to simply have gone to Sand Canyon. No one should have to wait an hour for stamps. Any time we have had to deal with anyone from this office it is the same... they are rude or short-tempered, complacent and lack any sense of urgency or customer service. The few times we have mailed items from this post office there have been issues, including delays with priority mail and lost packages. Our forwarded mail would sometimes take 4-5 weeks to arrive when we had first moved, if it arrived at all. These people would never survive in a real job. It is sad that they have job security while so many would gladly work and would be willing to put in a lot more effort. How DO they keep their jobs? At a time when the USPS finds it necessary to raise the cost of postage dramatically in order to make ends meet I find the level of inefficiency and lacksadaisical," I can't be fired" attitudes of the employees insulting. If the USPS chose to clean house and hired competent, caring employees they could reduce their costs. I am fairly certain they could cut payroll drastically and still provide an acceptable level of service with the right people on staff and we could save on shipping. After at least 20 minutes of waiting, I was forced to leave even though I did not pick up my package from the post office. The line I was in was to pick up packages and the line grew and grew until there were at least 16 people waiting. When asked to help the clerk nearby simply said be patient. The woman in line in front of me told the story of how she was there a few days ago at 5 o'clock and advertently left her keys on the counter. When she turned around to pick up her keys the door has been lock and they refused to open it even though they were still customers inside. She had to take a taxi home. And you wonder why ups and Federal Express are so successful? read more

I'm giving this post office a 3 let me explain why. I arrived early in the morning 8:30 when they opened and waited in line to "renew my passport". When I got to the front of the line the clerk was RUDE AS HELL. I'm not going to mention her name but she is handicapped using a walker. I started the conversation by saying I need to renew my passport. She basically said "you want to renew? Go fill out application. I took the application that I had already filled out and handed it to her. Her response? Follow the directions on the paper. Then she says the passport clerk will be here at 9:30. I returned at 10:20 and luckily the passport clerk was available. She was the best, explained how the proces renew process worked. Let me be clear if it wasn't for her this location would get a ZERO if I could give it. read more

I came here to pick up a package for my friend's bf and so I walk in, pull a tab from that number thing and waited. My number said 65, the number displayed was 36. Ok so...are they even calling out numbers? There seemed to be a line formed but it was to the window that was supposedly for stamps only. After observing a bit, it seemed that one worker was calling numbers and the other two were just taking whoever was in that line...why have the ticketed number system then?? I would give this place zero stars if I could. This USPS is always super busy and they NEVER have any boxes and packaging material in stock. They do not care for customer service and they treat all customers like second class citizens. The pick up counter is frequently closed during business hours, and the workers here get frustrated when customers complain about the lack of available materials. It's not hard to compare an experience using the USPO at this or any other location vs FedEx - the former is Meh, the later is Yay. When we need stamps, we head to Costco. We use this branch on an as needed basis only (e.g. packages over 13 oz, etc.). Often, the wait is long and staff temperment is short. Not sure if the mailman who delivers our mail operates out of the same branch but he needs corrective lenses. At least once a week we receive another tenant's piece of mail or someone has to redeliver one of ours. This has been my home post office for over 7+ years, UNFORTUNATELY. I have to admit this place has gotten better, service-wise, in the 7+ years since I've had to deal with them. The people at the counter are much nicer now (and not rude and disrespectful like in the past) but management still sucks. In the past there was a shortage of PO boxes. The lady in charge of the PO Boxes was so rude. I had to wait a over a month to get a box and I called to follow up. During the phone call she was a far as calling my name a "foreigner's name" and that's why she had trouble finding and processing my application. Then she said I'm "NOT ALLOWED" to get a PO Box if I'm switching last names (from maiden to married). Then just this week I got a letter in the mail that was ripped in half, punctured, crinkled up, and with GREEN stains all over it. I immediately took it into the post office on Tuesday to speak to the station manager. The manager had left by 4:30pm but I left my number for a call me back and was told I would receive a phone call by Wednesday. Wednesday, no phone call. Thursday, nothing. Friday, nothing. I finally called the main USPS hotline on Friday afternoon and complained. So Saturday afternoon, 5 minutes before they closed, I get a phone call from a Harvest station manager saying that "it happens". "It Happens!!" Ripped up, punctured letters left in my LOCKED mailbox HAPPENS. He said if I wanted to I can have them check out the green stains and see if it's toxic on Monday. In the meantime he told me not to touch the green stains. Seriously?? I've had this letter for almost a week and NOW he tells me not to touch it? And the only reason he called is because the USPS Hotline has launched an investigation on this incident. And he waited until 5 minutes before it was closing time to tell me?!! Whatever. They'll probably screw up and lose my CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL Letter during the "green stains investigation". Absolutely ridiculous. I know some people don't give a crap about their job BUT some people at this station takes it to a whole new level! read more

I've been here about 3 times. It's super slow even when all the registers are occupied. Petra is the worst. She's so rude. They close the door on a bunch of people too even when we are about to enter. I get it's almost closing time but a lot of us get off work at this time as well and when we make it right before closing time we expect to get helped not the door shut in or faces. read more

THE ONLY REASON why this Location is getting 2 Stars is because their Lobby is open 24 hours for your Drop Off / PO Box Needs, other than that, their Customer Service is TERRIBLE! I use USPS a lot and visit lots of USPS post office visits so I have some experience with various USPS offices. I give 5-stars to USPS in general, but this is the worst USPS post office I have ever been to. Place is packed, service is terrible, they really need to retrain these employees. My biggest gripe: They won't give you a confirmation receipt when you drop off packages, even if you have a SCAN form. This is the ONLY post office I know that refuses to give a receipt without paying extra. If you print you labels at home and have a SCAN form and you want to get a receipt for when received, go to Sand Canyon, Santa Ana, or anywhere else. It is unfortunate because this post office is closest to me. All they have to do is scan the single bar code on the SCAN form which contains all the packages on it (for those who aren't familiar with SCAN forms), they already do this, and press print. They won't press print. For some reason, here you have to pay extra. No other USPS is like this. I use this USPS, along with Sunflower (Santa Ana) and Sand Canyon (Irvine). The former (this one) gets 1-star, the latter two get 5-stars. It is unfortunate that this one is the closest one to me. This place is also packed. 1-star for this USPS. 5-stars for USPS, in general. I don't want to badmouth the USPS in general because they are on the brink of privatization. That would be terrible. We would be the only "developed" country without a public postal service (just like we are the only "developed" country without single payer healthcare). So don't get me wrong, USPS rocks, we need it (as if to think we could one day be a country without a national postal service; that's crazy). THIS USPS is terrible and just needs to retrain their employees to conform with the rest of the USPS's. I do appreciate the fact that they have disabled individuals though, that is nice. That earns them the 1-star I gave (otherwise this place would be 0-stars). Please conform with the rest of the USPS's and give receipts when people bring in packages with pre-printed labels. Except during holiday or tax season, I haven't had many issues with this post office location. Parking has always been pretty easy to find, in the front parking lot. There is also a back lot they've opened up for extra parking. I like using the individual shipping kiosks they have. They have a total of 3 kiosks and once you get the hang of using them, it's easy peasy and you won't have to stand in the long 'ol line waiting for someone to help you. There is often a postal person there who is also available to help you, or who wants you to use the kiosks, cause it's that much easier for both you and them. Of course, during the busier times or seasons, employees can be few and far between, but that's anywhere. It's the post office, you just have to be patient. I like that this one has the shipping kiosks, it makes shipping a lot more pleasant and easy. read more

Although this location is usually very busy on most days and hours, majority of the employees there seem to be able to handle the heat, and are very friendly, helpful, and understanding...except for one man. I've been to this location many times now due to selling items online and constantly having to ship via USPS. I have no problem with the wait time, or majority of the staff, but the man with the long pony tail really "urks" me. Both times I got stuck with him helping me out, he was very rude and my package ended up shipping for more than normal for that size and weight. I have lived in Irvine for two years and never found this postal office! It's in such a good location with plenty of parking and for once the people who helped insider super friendly!! The lady who helped me was also Chinese it was something started talking to me in Mandren, she thought I was a college student because I look so young haha. At this branch, I have previously had a lot of communications errors with the staff, so I avoid any human interaction whenever I come here. But communications errors aren't as bad as being bullied for one's social handicap. I conduct very few internal transactions here, but all of my recent transactions have been done with the machines so I don't have to interact with humans--though the line attendant did tell us to use the machine once, so that still counts as human interaction. One can drop off a package with no problem and it will reach the destination appropriately. read more

Made a passport appointment a week in advance and showed up 10 minutes early like they asked. There wasn't any directions on where the passport appointments were so I had to travel around and risk my health by traveling around close to people. And then, when I finally found a worker, she told me that passport appointments weren't happening because they couldn't get any of their workers to show up. Really? I scheduled an appointment probably along with several other people and no one decided to show up? Very very unprofessional. read more

This is the worst USPS in the US. This USPS needs to be shut down or be replaced with new staff. The staff is rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and make stories how not to work while you go for appointment. They try not to let the work done by all means. I am really surprised how this office supervisor or any official never tried to improve this when you have so many bad reviews. I went there for passport for my newborn and they just cancelled the appointment on the spot saying the agent is not available and never updated/ rescheduled the appointments and say that's how we do. This should be -5 *. I read all the reviews while booking appointment but never thought it will be that bad. Understuffed and people working here having the hardest time finding people's packages. They don't try to deliver the boxes; rather leave s note saying they missed in the mailbox for forcing people to come and pick up the package because it's only 13lbs ! And when you come here 20 minutes after their opening there are already 7 people in the line to pick up their packages who had the same notes in their mailboxes, and each person takes 10 minutes to process. Now does it worth waiting for more the an hour to pick up something that was supposed to be delivered to my door. Why are you putting people to work for you ? My preferred post office. The older lady isn't very helpful, but everyone else has been super quick even though I've mailed twenty packages sometimes. I think the older lady just doesn't like me much. Yeah, it's usually busy in here, but with three places open it usually works out okay.
