This is a good all-around post office serving the Birmingham, Alabama suburb of Hoover, Alabama. The service was friendly enough and I was in and out in pretty much no time flat. I would recommend here. read more

Went two days in a row and had no wait and the postal lady that helped me both days was the most pleasant and smiling and giving off great energy. Both times she was the only one on the line and didn't rush me or seemed overwhelmed with my questions. read more

It's been years since I reviewed this location so I think I'm overdue for an update. I'm not sure what happened, but service has gotten a bit better! I wouldn't say they would win awards, but I've observed less snark and more help. They are busy, but the line moves fast in most cases. read more

#1 worst post office in the USA. First it's nasty and dirty. Floors look like they are never clean. Don't drop packages off at this location unless you want them lost or stolen. Avoid this post office like the plague. The location is the poster child of why US needs to privatize the US Mail Service! It's a disaster! read more

Too bad that I can't rate this PO less than zero. The staff is curt and unhelpful. Typically there are long lines and not enough clerks to handle the traffic. As a result, they rush and want you to leave as soon as possible. oh, and don't ask for their supervisor - that will get you into a corner for a fairly long wait. You might not even see anyone in authority due to the time you must wait. Since they are not funded by congress they work and handle your mail at their convenience. Home delivery can be between 3 to 8 pm, Just wish they had real competition. read more

I've actually never once left a review until this experience. This place is utter dog shit. Never had problems shipping packages but I finally sell something expensive and go to drop it off. Hasn't been scanned in for a week. Maybe it's my fault for being impatient and dropping it off but I have before, plus they usually have 2 workers and take their sweet hourly time. This location is always busy, but I'm sure that's because it's the largest in t he area and provides the most services and extended hours. Like many other USPS locations there is a self serve kiosk, and I use it any time I can to avoid the lines. Even when the line is long, this locations really tries to keep it moving quickly, and it's usually a customer's unpreparedness that is the hold up. Starting in late October, be prepared for much longer lines as people start sending out their parcels. By the same token, though, this location is your best bet for mailing parcels on a Saturday. read more

I have two padded envelopes to mail. Honestly, they contain face masks for a couple of my children. No big deal. I wanted to use the self-service kiosk to mail them. So I Walked into the lobby, and there was a girl with this huge box full of smaller boxes using the kiosk. I asked her, are you using the kiosk to mail all those boxes?? Yep she said. There was already a line to the mail counter. So, I left. I wasn't going to wait an hour or more to mail these when I can go to my local post office where the lines are never this long. Honestly, there should be a sign to limit the number of articles one can mail from the kiosk. read more

Yes, I know a review for the post office, but they are worthy of a few good words. This location is really one of the better post offices I have been to. If you don't want to get out of the car they have drive through lanes with several drop boxes. Check the times, as they have different pick up times. If you are going inside they have plenty of parking within close proximity to the front door. Once inside they have do--it-yourself mail area straight in front of you where you can purchase postage from a kiosk. To the right you will find all of the PO Boxes and to the left you will find the service counters where you can get assistance from the staff. They have everything you need to package up your stuff including boxes, tape, etc. Choose your timing wisely. If you go at lunch time there is a good chance you will be in a pretty long line. When they are busy they usually have 3 people working and process people as quickly as possible. I don't need to go to the post office often, but they are in a convenient spot and are pretty quick in and out. No issues with them or their services and would recommend. read more

The staff here is always extremely helpful and willing to assist you in anyway possible. Never any long waits they get you in and out. I have had really large items come through when returning from overseas and they helped me get all my stufff patiently. The people here are top notch and the area is always nice and clean. read more

The WORST service I've ever received. Every time I use them, they are very rude. I pre-pay for my labels & box them up myself so I can drop & go like i usually do at other post offices, but they make me wait in line every time. Last time I was in there, the man working yelled at someone because she wasn't standing on a blue dot & told her to wait outside. read more

I went in on a Tuesday at 9:12 am to mail a letter to Italy. There were 8 total people in line and NOT ONE SINGLE person working the front. I do think they were in the back looking for something, but 4 minutes went by and no sign of a worker. I reached the front of the line at 9:27am. I was greeted with a "I am sorry for your wait, how can I help you?" Though she was prompt and proficient, I never ever try to go to the USPS. Overrall USPS is a wreck. Rude workers. No care about time. Could care less if they get our business in the future. Such a shame. read more

Excellent service at this location! I regularly use this location to mail out packages and the staff is always top notch! Super helpful! Even when there is a line they work quickly and always apologize for my wait (even if it's less than a minute!). read more

I like this location. Mainly because it is convenient for me geographically but also because it is set up relatively nicely. They could have more room in the desk area but they don't and you deal with it. For me I deal with it by choosing the times I go wisely. Lots of boxes if you need one. Drive through drop off. Site for passports and so forth. It is a fairly large building with moderately small space size indoors. It'll do and in some circumstances, do well. read more

Every week for 9.5 yrs my company mails regular envelopes on Wednesday afternoon and every week they do not get postmarked until Friday morning. I can mail the same letter from my po and my company gets it the next day. Tried calling at 345pm the phone rang for (2) minutes with no answer Still waiting on my letter (5) days later. filled out proper form online to redirect mail from one address to another. didn't correct problem. went there Saturday 8/11 - waited 25-30 minutes to speak with a "delivery supervisor" who was not responding to 2 pages from the front desk - basically said she would "inform the carrier." mail is still being delivered to the wrong address! recording answers when you call - says will transfer to the operator - no one answers !!!! it just rings and rings !!! read more
