On June 24, 2024, Monday, I paid $14 to mail a Priority Mail flat rate envelope, signature required from the 97201 PO to an address in zip code 97123 at 1:25 pm. I was assured it would be received next day.   On 6-25-24, Tuesday, next day, I checked the status through my mobile app. It stated that it was out for delivery at 6:36am.   On 6-26-24, Wednesday, I checked again, same message (date/time as the one on 6-25) in the online app. I called the automated line. It said that delivery was attempted on 6-25 at 9:35am, business closed. Delivery would be attempted next day. The business is a high school and it's open from 8-4pm because of Summer School. I called the office manager at the school and she said she was present when the postal worker FAILED to deliver. Regular mail delivery has been uninterrupted. On 6-27-24, Thursday, 7:45am, I called the 800 USPS number and asked why delivery hadn't been reattempted as stated by the automated line. I asked why the online status hadn't been updated from Tuesday, 6-26. She could not determine what had happened to my insured package. She said that delivery attempts are made 3 times, then held at the PO until pick up by the recipient, and if not, then it's mailed back to the sender. In this case, she could not determine what the current status was of my package. She had no more access or info than I did. She therefore submitted a service request that would take 3-5 days to get info. She advised me to go to the PO on at 125 S. 1st St., in Hillsboro.   On 6-28-24, Friday, I went to the Hillsboro PO on 1st Street. The postal worker could not find any updated info either since Monday. The online site and automated phone info had not been changed since Monday, 6-24. She told me to go to the PO distribution center at 1330 SW Walnut and ask for the supervisor. I talked to both a postal worker and then the supervisor, both of whom insisted that the business was closed. I told them that there's a full staff, parking lot full of summer school teachers' cars and office help. The front glass door has always required being buzzed in, as any US postal worker knows who delivers daily mail to this location.   I asked them what would happen to the package now. They continued to insist that the business is closed, even after my in person, verbal update. I asked them for the package and for a refund. I was given the package. The supervisor said they would not issue a refund since it had been processed.   I asked him what would have happened to the package if I had not shown up to retrieve it. He stated they would keep it. Keep it until when? Where? Any attempt at delivery ever? Any update of the online site or auto-phone line? Would I have ever been contacted as to the outcome of the failure to deliver? Would it have been lost in the interim? He had ZERO response. NOTHING.   I have never encountered this level of failure to take responsibility in   · Not updating any of the communication sites to inform the customer of accurate updates · Not attempting to deliver a package that was clearly destined for an open place of work/business · Not refunding me my $14 for their LAZY worthless group of dysfunctional personnel. There was ZERO apology offered. ZERO professionalism in accepting their failures and lack of efficacy. Only insistence that the business was closed.   Furthermore, how absolutely infuriating to go back to the online tracking system to see that it was updated to "Delivered," and only because I picked it up, after going to two different postal office locations because the USPO does NOT deliver. read more

Super frustrated with the post office and this location. We are having major issues with our mail to our new address so we are having our mail held at this location until something important comes to this post office then getting a PO Box, however mail is being delivered still to our house, well 4 things came one Including a package sent via usps. It should have been held and when My husband drove me to this location 30 min from home they did not have half of my mail. I was told to take it up with the mail carrier, but that's pretty hard when it's a different one each day. Oh and other people's meds are delivered to my mailbox that live a ways down the road. Basically we can't trust our mail will come and are still missing important financial mail items. Nobody at the office can help either, I guess we need to track down the carrier at our rural location and it's not the same person daily either. What a joke. Glad to be helped when you seriously need help and are not receiving your mail and the hold we requested with the post office is not being held and now we don't know where our mail will be. We recently purchased a home which makes this Hillsboro post office location our office. Our experience in the last year has been horrible. My packages shipped with two day shipping are frequently delivered days late. Tracking shows it arriving in Portland and transferring to Hillsboro and there it sits. And no update to the online information! Why am I paying for 2 day delivery if it's not going to be delivered in two days? Another situation required a re-delivery. I requested a 2nd attempt and cleared my calendar to be home to accept it. Four days and counting and they still haven't delivered or even processed the request for re-delivery. Tracking shows customer request. No other information. And finally tonight I needed to ship out a package after hours. Not a single envelope or box or label available. Not a ONE. The table was left empty and who knows when it was last restocked. UPS and FedEx are taking business from usps. There is a reason! read more

There was an issue with a package that was supposed to have arrived at my home. The instructions left on my doorstep said I had to go to the Hillsboro Walnut Street USPS office to pick it up. Although frustrated that I had to go out of my way to go get it, I was impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of the employees as they helped me sort out what went wrong with the delivery of my package. I asked a lot of questions and they patiently took the time to explain the process to me. The difficulty had nothing to do with this USPS Walnut facility but were missteps by the company who had sent me the package. I realized how easy it is to misdirect frustrations on employees who are just trying to do their job the best that they can. Worst Post Office ever! They have lost so many packages. Today they "lost" a package that was too big to fit into my mailbox. I think the carrier just didn't want to take the time to drive up the driveway. They have thrown items into the driveway before. I have a locking mailbox and have received the packaging for items such as jewelry with the jewelry missing. An order of chicks I picked up at the post office last year arrived so badly mishandled that most of them died. On and On and On! It doesn't even make sense that this is the post office for my address. It's almost enough to make me move! I try to request online shippers to send packages via UPS or FedEX but that doesn't always work. read more

Certified, three day mail from east coast did not show up at my home address. Checked USPS online tracking.... and then at downtown Hillsboro Post Office. Both confirmed the letter was scanned into the Portland office but then " scheduled delivery date delayed" Not knowing what this meant and fearing the worst, I contacted the non PO Box Hillsboro branch. Was spoken to by a staff member who first called my mail deliverer directly to see if it was in the days mail. It was not. Then I was introduced to her supervisor who took my name and telephone number, and stated she would look into the issue. The following day around 1 pm, a carrier showed up at my home with the letter. Of course, not happy the letter was seemingly languishing in another officer for an additional 2-3 days beyond the promise date. Also not sure if staff actually did anything to facilitate its arrival. However, I am sure my concerns were addressed immediately and in a professional, proactive manner by these individuals...and most importantly the letter was ultimately delivered. read more

I recently moved and used their address update tool online. I moved about 1,500 yards from my last place, so it wasn't very far. It as been 25 days and I've only received two pieces of forwarded mail. I haven't received mail that has been addressed to me at my new address. They insist it isn't their issue however I have provided them with everything they need. The make excuses every week. The woman that answers the door looks like she smokes crack and is on drugs. So, tracking says that they attempted delivery on the 21st, and left a notice. I wasn't home all day on the 21st, but no notice was left. Whatever, I scheduled a redelivery for today. (26th) I've been here all day, waiting for a knock on the door. Nothing. Tracking says it's "In-Transit." It has said that all day. Now, I only live about 2 mi. from the post office. The courier came and went, because at around 4:30PM I had my regular mail in the mailbox. Why would he not have had the package? If it is "In-transit" then where else could it be? I can't imagine it would be "In-transit" all day if the courier didn't have it. Also, how could it still be "In-transit" at 11:40PM when the post office is only 2 mi. away? My mother was also expecting a package today. According to tracking, they attempted to deliver it today, and left a notice. Like I said, I've been here all day waiting and nobody has come. The worst delivery service by USPS is right here in Hillsboro! They delivered 1 of my packages to the complex next to the building I live in that has a completely different address than mine but to the same apartment number as mine. Now they delivered an important package I've been waiting on & it was completely ruined by them! Instead of contacting me directly they just delivered it to my mailbox completely smashed, ripped open & with severe water damage. It should be obvious to them that whatever is inside is now demolished, so why would they not contact me & just go ahead & deliver it in this condition? They put my package in sealed plastic because of the water damage & on the sealed plastic there is a preprinted message from the "AMF" manager of USPS explaining how they handle millions of packages & that packages can be damaged by their machines. Ummm, this is SOPPING WET & SMASHED, I highly doubt this was damage caused by a machine! Their preprinted message on the plastic bag that they put my severely damaged & RUINED package in is titled "WE CARE." In my humble opinion, if you care about decent or FAIR customer service, even, at the VERY LEAST put a phone number on the preprinted GARBAGE bag you put my package in! Yes, I said garbage bag, because that is what my item is now! I sit here on hold, after searching the internet for their phone number (which was a task in itself), then have to go through their automated system & now I've been on hold for 34 MINUTES & 25 SECONDS! I have to go through a big hassle because of their mistake...they call this "caring" or even FAIR customer service??? I finally was able to speak with someone after being on hold for 40 minutes. All they do is take your information, say they will file a complaint & tell you it will be 2 or 3 days before someone contacts you. Not at all caring! I've been waiting for this package & needed this right away! Now I don't have the item I needed & have to wait DAYS for them to even CONTACT me. That tells me they are going to take their time about making this right, if they ever even do...& I will have to go through "an act of congress" just to file a complaint but will likely never get reimbursed. For years, my credit card has read "check ID" on the back and for hundreds of merchants, this has been A-ok. Upon checking out at this location, I handed the worker my card along with my license; however, she refused to accept it because it did not have my signature. I kindly reminded her she was holding my license and to verify my identity but apparently my photo ID is not a reputable way to verify my identity while a random signature that could have been forged by Joe Shmoe is. Who knew! Being the forward thinker I am, I said, ok then, could I borrow a Sharpie? She handed one over, I scribbled chicken scratch across the tiny vacant corner, which was not even big enough for the first two letters of my first name, but apparently this confirmed to her that I was, in fact, the credit card's owner. read more

Worse mail carriers I have ever had. Live in the Rock Creek area have had my mail delivered to my neighbors about 2-3 times a week and vice versa since I moved in a year ago. I appreciate my normal mail person when they do their job fully. I was standing in the street yesterday, after spending 2 hours shoveling snow to make sure they had a clear path to the mailbox, and watch them drive right past me and code my package undeliverable. I intercepted them in the street Thursday to get my mail and she neglected to give the package she had in the back. I like this post office because it's convinient. It's not too far from where I work and there's plenty of parking space as well. I usually go there before lunch time. But there's always a line there, so better get some comfortable shoes and do alot of Facebook with your phone. read more

The mail carriers are horrible. We live in the country and they continually leave packages out at the street where the mailbox is instead of bringing them to the house. That's about 1/4 mile and they have a much higher potential to be stolen out there. Besides they leave them regardless of weather, sometimes packages are so wet the boxes just fall apart. Some things are sensitive to heat, but 100 degrees out and they leave them out there. If the carriers are too lazy to drive down the driveway maybe they should find other employment. read more

I would not even give them a star. I ordered a package and Post office marked that they made an attempt to deliver my package on October 8, 2016. The driver wrote a notice of said attempted delivery was left with instructions to pick up. The tracking information said that no one was home to receive package. I do not believe that there was an attempt made because I was home all day and none ever can down my driveway or to my door. And I never found the instruction to pick up my package. Had I received the notice I would have picked up package. Good job Hillsboro postal service for your spectacular service. I actually think this is the best PO around here. Employees at this office are much nicer than employees at both Aloha and Beaveton PO. I usually print my postage at home, so I can't comment on how long (or short) the line is, but employees here never showed attitude when I drop the packages at their table.
