If you have to take a test, be there before 3:30 in order to ensure you get to take the test. if you're retaking the test go there a little before 4 and they'll let you cut in line. if you're going to do any other things other then driving test, go there right after 4 and the wait is a matter of minutes.

And that she was - having just passed the driving test at an offsite location in Wilsonville, the daughter and I went to the nearest DMV to get her license. It turned out the Sherwood branch was a zoo, packed with people, a bit surprising for a Tuesday. Once we made our way to the Info booth, we learned that despite having her photo ID / permit, they still needed her birth certificate (again) and supporting documents. So we left empty handed and headed home. Once in Salem, we grabbed what we needed and headed to our local office. I was a bit nervous to see the lines, but was quickly relieved to see a mere fraction of the people in the last branch. She was quickly assigned a number, with only two people ahead, and just like that - there's a new independent teen driver sharing the roadway. Don't fret, if anything, she's overly cautious! Yes, obligatory photo snapped in front of the DMV sign with her temporary license, but no permission to share. I don't know whether to cry tears of joy or sadness now that she can come and go in her own car.

Co, BTW), the gentleman working window 8, whose name I have shamefully failed to note, was friendly, patient, and helpful, answer questions and ensuring that all forms were filled out properly, and all fees and required documents clearly specified. It's been several years since I've had to make a trip to the Oregon DMV and I just had my best…read moreexperience ever at the Hillsboro branch They were out of appointments so I had to go in as a walk in and the place was packed when I got here on Thursday at 3pm But, to my pleasant surprise, the host asked me if I wanted to get text updates about my wait. What a great service! So I gave her my phone number and was able to wait outside in the comfort of my own car and enjoy reading my book. Their system sent me a few updates as my spot in line approached. They also provided a link to web page where I could view my wait status. That was nice since I didn't have to worry about losing my place in line while I waited outside I ended up waiting just 20 minutes (they served 11 folks in that time) and got my job done in two minutes. So I had a great experience here and especially appreciate the hard work DMV has done to serve us and minimize the pain of going to the DMV office. Kudos! :)
