I love the vintage wood entrance and counter of the diminutive govt facility. You can cross the lobby in about four steps! The post master, a young lady, was super nice and friendly! I loved this one! It suited me to the letter! Bremo Bluff was established in1636 and Robert E. Lee's family considered this quiet area a haven during the Civil War. The actual bluff is quite a site! There's a stately plantation of the same name here, dubbed by the owners from the ancestral home Braemore in the UK. Now populated with about 700 people, it has a rich history. If you ever come to this are in Fluvanna County, be sure to see the bluff and go to the post office! It needs a lick of paint and some landscaping to make it 5 stars!! Hours M-F 12:00-4:00, Sat. 10-12, no passport services.

I found parking limited , but easy to park ! Letter pickup is about 4:30 . The true downside is you might spend your time chit chatting and catching up with you favorite postal worker! The population has fluctuated sometimes as high as 100, but the number tends to dwindle. Yes, the history of this tiny unincorporated place on the map has some cool history: this was the location of the Rassawek, a Monacan Indian Nation settlement. English settlers occupied the area and it was used as an arsenal for awhile. In 1788 the town became incorporated, and was a shipping stop for the tobacco trade. Then by the 1950's due to the decline of the railroad and natural disasters many homes and buildings were either destroyed, flooded or abandoned. The mayor proposed to disincorporate the town in 2014 and eventually passed in 2016 as money couldn't be raised to save the historic town. Main Street now looks like a ghost town, with dilapidated buildings, the haunting remains of the railroad, and just a corner market and the post office hidden down a side street. The post office is charming and well cared for despite its rundown neighbors. Inside it's clean and bright. It's a shame this place couldn't make it because the St. Joseph's church is beautiful and has some remarkable statuary and a popular shrine, also many of the houses in the neighborhood are stately and elegant. The Garden Club was established in 1958 and is active in the Charlottesville area. That's indeed flower power! Keswick is cute little "town" that is home to a lovely winery and vineyard nestled in the mountains a few miles east of Charlottesville. It's mainly a residential and farmland area with no town square or downtown district, although there are some large estates and clubs in Keswick. The post office is really the center of town, and is at the curve of the main road where a historical marker is situated. It has a small population of about 320 people but the post office delivers to several other small towns not big enough to have their own post office. This post office is eye-catching with its beige exterior highlighted with black trim, black shutters, and even a hint of black Spanish tiles. The exterior is fabulous! The cream and rust colored paint, the tree trunk columns, the wrought iron- all add the the charm and allure of this post office, which used to be a general store. I love when government post offices are unique and have so much character! Inside is an incredible museum of the post office, with antiques, old photos, and lots of wood and brass fixtures, even a wood stove! Cameron, the postmaster, was kind enough to give us a mini history of the area and welcomed us like we were old friends! They sold the elephant stamps which I hadn't seen before! A few years ago I had a package sent that the sender forgot to include my apt number on. My regular mailman had the day off and I just happened to be grabbing the mail and saw that the package was not delivered. We tracked it and saw it was being sent back the the sender, so we rushed to the post office. The person behind the counter got the tracking info from us and decided to check for it and found it right away. Another time recently my mailman saw me near the mailbox and gave me a shout because he had a package that was too big for my mailbox and would've had to be picked up from the post office otherwise. This location does get really busy, there are a lot of apartments nearby in walking distance. Sometimes they are understaffed, but that is the case almost everywhere. Everyone I have worked with here has been professional.

If you're using priority mail there's also the labels, packaging, etc. needed in the lobby area as well. The postal workers never seem to place a small priority box in the lobby area. If you need a small priority box, then come during the hours that the desk is open so that you can get the small priority mail box or bring your own box. If you need to get your passport, then you can do this at this location. Please come early because they take only so many people each day. As always, don't forget to pack your patience when you come!!

It's a rather large facility and it was busy, but the lines were organized by a queue that moved fast. It was beautifully maintained out front, although we did see some "loitering" by the steps. It was clean and tidy on the inside, which was a bright sunny spacious lobby. There was a big greeting card kiosk and plenty of mailing & shipping supplies offered. Also, there a lots of P.O. Boxes available inside. The downside is the parking as you need to park on the street or in the nearby parking deck. The lobby is understandably only open during business hours due to the many people wandering around the mall area to keep it safe and avoid folks "squatting" inside.
