If I could I would give the whole US Postal Service a zero stars. The 800 number is just a computer no customer service person (real human) to speak to. Then when you call the local PO the voicemail is full nobody answers the phone. I also have trouble receiving mail and packages. They seem to not like delivering stuff. I have spoken to a supervisor in the past and was told there's noting that can be done. The staff doesn't like delivering. I was flabbergasted. That's the whole job. read more

I went to this post office yesterday and received by far the most nastiest service. I have four family members who I had their passport applications filled out. I met up with a very rude clerk: 66 named Mary. She saw my application and informed I was not to fill up one section and she started out frustrated. She made it sound like I didnt understand anything. So I had to redo the applications. My appointment was on 11:15 and I finished filling the redo of applications on 11:40 and when I went to find her the other clerks stated she was on a lunch break. This does not make sense because I saw her literally walking around taking her sweet time. Finally when she comes in she kept yelling and told me to put each application on the window. I felt so stressed out and finally my husband responded because we have three minors who were already tired. The paper work was finalized and I was charged without my knowledge on the photocopies of my husband's driver's license with a fee of 8.00. This clearly shows they are in for the money and all these clerks need training. MARY has no right to work in a place where she is screaming whenever she feels like it. I dropped a package at the Forest Hills (11375) location with a printed label and they managed to lose the package. I spoke with the gentleman who opens those blue boxes in front of the location and he mentioned that the next day after I dropped the package the bin was empty, so most likely someone stole all the packages overnight. I called USPS multiple times, opened cases but they were totally unhelpful. Terrible business. I've just lost 89 dollars. read more

this post office is hell!!! the staff are always very rude, they are always slow, and when the customer need help or have trouble with something, they just give us a really bad attitude with a rude comment. Apparently to use this post office one must also be clairvoyant. I attempted to rent a post office box. I carefully filled out the paperwork. I assembled all of the identification specified by PS Form 1093. When I submitted the paperwork and identification to the clerk, she told me that I needed company "paper". Then she handed me off to her associate. That woman insisted that I needed a company EIN number. She also said that as "manager" of the company I could not apply for the mailbox. That I had to be the owner. They don't know, nor was I given the chance to explain, that I am both manager and owner. It's my company. She handed me off to a rude woman who allegedly is a supervisor there. I asked, repeatedly, where in the instructions was it written that I need to provide the EIN number or any company "paper". They ignored my question. Instead, the "supervisor" said that "it's the Post Office policy" and that it's listed on signs "all over the lobby." First, how am I as the customer supposed to know a policy unless it is WRITTEN ON THE FORM? No one directed me to any online or offline location for this information. Second, before filling out the application, I took phone photos of all relevant signage for post office boxes. NONE of the signs mention providing EIN information or any information besides the form. When I picked up the form from the counter person a week ago he just said to make sure that I had all my identification. Which, according to the form, I provided. Shame on these people. No wonder people prefer email. UPDATE: I heard from the customer service representative at this branch. Despite having sent me the email at noon, when I called her at 3pm, she was "unavailable" and "on vacation until next week". Odd how she is suddenly unavailable. The reason that I called is that in her response she was factually incorrect: 1 She claimed that there is information posted in the lobby about the need for additional information besides the form. Her associate on the phone just now contradicted her and agreed with me that there is no information posted in the lobby. When I asked about the discrepancy, her associate said that the representative must have "typed it wrong." Incredible. 2 The representative claimed that the clerks and supervisor told me they needed to know if I am the owner of my business. That simply did not occur. What they DID tell me was that only the owner of the business could apply for a post office box. At NO POINT did they ask me if I was the owner. They just assumed by my title of "Manager" that I could not be the owner. I am both the manager and owner of the company. 3 The representative also claimed that the clerks told me that I was not allowed to take pictures in the building. Again, that conversation simply never happened. I was NEVER told that I could not take pictures inside the building. Shame on them now for their clumsy attempt to "resolve" this issue. No resolution, just a limp apology and misrepresentations. read more

This is my 2nd Review for the Forest Hills Post Office The absolutely worst post office that i have ever been to. Regularly takes a month or more to have your returned package received and there's no way to track it. supervisor is a nasty piece of work, has attitude and needs to be demoted or let go. but they probably can't do that since it's a government office. Better yet just shut this place down. there's post office on main street not too far away. I wish someone actually read this reviews and does something about it. complete indifference. no wonder fedex and ups is making a ton of money yet they are bankrupt. The worst place ever. The line is usually long like from New York to Acapulco and only one person in the window who goes after 10 minutes for a break. They have time... Manager keeps saying: I'm sorry like a parrot and doesn't give a damn about anything. Service is extremely rude. A woman - who said that she is new and she doesn't know a few things - after 10 minutes of struggling with the computer said that she can't send my letter. When I asked why she started to YELL at me: I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR BULLSHIT. So I said: I want to speak with the manager. He came and started to say: I'm sorry. Yesterday, at 1:20pm I was attempting to mail a Priority Mail Express article from 11375 Forest Hills Post Office on Queens Boulevard, Forest Hills, New York. This mail was addressed to Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. I requested overnight delivery. Upon checking the clerk advised me that this was not possible because this was out of area. She said it would be at least a 2 day delivery time! I asked for the manager who naturally stood by his clerk's statement. I didn't want to believe this. Fort Lauderdale out of area? I never heard that before, but he insisted. When I told him I would go to another post office he said I could do that but I would find the same answer everywhere. I took the mail to 11367 Kew Gardens Hills Post Office on Main Street, Kew Gardens Hills, New York and it was accepted without any problems. As of 10:27 am this morning this mail is in Fort Lauderdale and out for delivery! How is this possible that the Forest Hills Post Office gives out erroneous information? This must be one of the worst post offices I ever came across. I lost more mail through them than anywhere before. There are always long lines at the windows because it seems they are not properly staffing them. They are also discourteous and unfriendly. While I stood in line an elderly gentleman walked up to a just opened up window and the clerk remarked that "I didn't call you". Another time I was mailing a letter to Europe and when I was trying to find, after a long no show, where it was I was told it was in Custom  at JFK airport. What custom? Trying to make a passport appointment is very difficult. I was able to secure an appointment with passport photo service. The day of my appointment I get a call indicating due to Covid-19 they do not have photo service. Covid-19 has been around for over a year. Why doesn't the post office indicate that this service is not available? Last minute call is useless when I only have an hour for lunch. Incredibly disappointed. Now I need to wait another few months for an appointment. The office offered no help in obtaining an appointment. This is too typical of the problems of the post office. read more

No basic human decency. I tried to mail out a package here. Postage paid, box packed, just need a 10-inch strip of tape to close the box so I can drop off the box and go home. Can I please have a 10-inch strip of packing tape? No. Two tellers and even a manager tell me the same thing: I have to stand in line for the next 40 minutes to BUY a whole roll of packaging tape. I am shocked that people have had a bad experience at this U.S. post office. I can understand the frustration of having to wait in LONG lines (DMV takes the cake on this one) and rude postal office attendants, but this was not the case on this visit. I went in today around 2pm to find out what happened to some packages I had order have yet to arrive. The lady (Maria) behind the counter not only took the time to leave her post (excellent customer service I might add but I don't know if she got in trouble for it) but she also allowed me to directly speak to her supervisor for further assistance (you couldn't get this at a 5 star restaurant if you tried). Furthermore, she took the time to track my shipment and even though she could not find it in the back I was more than thrilled that I got a straight forward response and wonderful service. The post office is not known for either as many of you know. Now the rest lies upon response from Amazon... FYI : This is actually the best experience I've had at a post office. I was on the line with a prepaid package but, I wanted a receipt with the tracking number, since in the past I have sent packages that became lost in transit. But, when I went to the window of a man employee. I lived in NY for over 20 years and visited many post offices during this time. Forest Hills branch tends to be the worst and is getting even worse. The rudest clerks, unprofessional, not helpful, always short staffed, as per the branch supervisor, with 1 or 2 windows open out of 8, with 20 or so people in line while you see dozens of employees walking around and chatting while the same Asian woman and a short white American man are always at the windows patiently assisting customers. Today was the last straw. One of the African American clerks yelled at me for having my phone next to my ear listening to some recordings, not even talking, NOT on the speaker, threw the mail back to me, refused to process the mail, yelled that no customers are allowed with the phones next to the windows, ordered the other clerks not to take me, rudely closed the windows on me, refused to provide her name, while the supervisor was witnessing the whole thing and did NOTHING. Very humiliating, embarrassing and unprofessional. These employees should be terminated from the customer service field. They need some mental help and professional training. read more

Worst place in Forest Hills. Tellers have attitude and don't have basic knowledge about shipping procedures. I previously shipped an overnight package to CA for $26. Yesterday purchased label on Self Service Kiosk but took it to the teller to confirm all was correct. She said I have to pay $50 instead of $26 and demanded the difference. When I told her I shipped same size package 3 times already for price of $26, she called supervisor Lynn ( not sure is spelled correctly ). I checked pictures of my previous packages and realized I have to use different envelope.....they both couldn't advice me on that ??? They knew if I use different express envelope , I would pay less. It took me 5 seconds to change envelopes and reattach labels. She could've done the same with smile like amy normal person would .... I don't understand either they are lazy or can't think outside of box. Sad either way. There are 2-3 tellers there that been there too long and don't deserve to work for our community. read more

Not only do they think it's a good idea to not ring my doorbell when they drop off a package, their lines are just unbearable. The wait there is just way too long, and I'm talking about all year round, not just during the holidays. The icing on the cake is that they marked a package as delivered online but never got a package. I tried calling them, but I either get a busy signal or it just rings until I get the operator!! I can't imagine another post office in the country being worse than this one. Within the past week they claimed that a package coming to me had the wrong address on it and was on undeliverable .I've been living at this address for five years I get multiple packages every day at least the ones they don't lose or claim to have lost. I verified with the shipper if the address on the package was correct and indeed it was. The address is self generating by PayPal anyway. Now today I was supposed to receive a package. I received a proof of delivery and time for the package being delivered. No package was delivered. I was home all day and have a view to everyone who comes on my property. From reading other reviews I can see that I am not the only one. They are not only unreliable but they are untrustworthy also. If you have ever received a notice on your door that the package is being held at the branch on Queens Boulevard then I don't have to go into details what it's like to deal with them there. Trying to make a claim or even dealing with the Postal Service website is completely frustrating. It's almost like they don't want you to report problems.I deal with UPS or Fed Ex whenever possible. read more

Lines here are ridiculous, and customer service is pretty much nonexistent here from any of the tellers. The drivers who deliver packages from this station don't even bother to ring your doorbell, and instead either lose your package or leave it at your front door for your neighborhood thief to steal. read more

Lines move slow and when someone comes inside wanting to pay for a service and they tell you they don't have change for you, only $40 in the cash register, for a post office doesn't seem professional. Having experienced the worst of Postal Service here in this site, it really was my bad that I found myself here again. I'm only human, however, and I have occasional weak moments, ending up settling because of the location somehow appealing or their APC/self service kiosk facilities coming in handy. Today, somehow, the kiosk did not do its job and I had to be on queue reluctantly. The clerk--Chinese middle aged woman who is here from morning til their closing time, so certainly I regarded her without no sympathy for her going postal--still shocked me for her behavior bordering ill customer service and psychosis. When she picked up one envelope to process, she oddly would not stop repeating the same question: where I got the envelope that I was sending out. I did not understand where this was coming from and It did take a while for me to understand what she was alluding to: she suspected I was using USPS 'Ready Post' line, the shipping supply NOT free of charge, without paying (!?) Her persistent question was a broken record, and it was repeated despite I answered 'I had purchased it online,' simply, clearly and promptly. The following was the part that was not vocalized since apparently the clerk was not worth talking to but here it is in case you are interested. "Neither from your floor, let alone stealing from you." I was not even aware that they had their shipping supply merchandises here available. I have got them all shipped to my address directly. Even after this, this Postal Chinese woman paused, gawking at me, and moved her glance between the envelope and my face as if to mime her disbelief. This is beyond their usual mode of ill customer service but just bordering illegal: she was (non-verbally) accusing me for theft based on her primitive assumption that anybody using 'Ready Post' line product in this site committed theft. If their handling not-free of charge supplies induce such paranoia among clerks, then, it might not be a good idea to expose them in the lobby with free supplies. The last thing customers want is to deal with already postal clerks going even more postal and at out cost. Would you be even more astounded if I added that this was even AFTER she threw an epic postal tantrum: she literally threw a box back at me when I decided to take an item back due to her poor and unreliable customer service, which made me think I had had enough? read more

Let me begin by saying that I've been to a couple of post offices (not just in New York) and for the most part, they're good and reliable. But, there's just no winning when it comes to this USPS. This is my neighborhood post office and I definitely try to avoid coming here. The clerks and manager are helpful (when you finally reach them after waiting on line for a w-h-i-l-e). It sucks when you go to pick up a package and have to wait on the same line as folks sending out parcels. There were a couple of instances when USPS didn't ring the doorbell for package delivery. I get the notice that I was "missed" even though I was home the whole day. I can't say I'm satisfied with how things are going with USPS. I try to go UPS for my packages and I've gone paperless as much as I can. However, I wish there was another option of getting my post mail. read more

If you want to get your passport application done quickly, make sure you have extra photocopies of EVERYTHING. I don't understand why they charge you $25 application fee but still not willing to just make a photocopy for you. You have to run out of the office and find a copy machine in the middle of nowhere. So many people wait in line for hours and didn't get the application sent because of this. Also they get picky on you no matter what. They ask you to refill the form when they are not happy with it. In my case i gave her the photocopy not original (but there's no difference coz I haven't signed), also I stroke out the address in my check (coz I moved) and she's not happy with it - I had to write a new one. Don't like their attitude as many reviewers said. When they say "I can't send this out" what they really meant was "would you mind correcting this for me and let's give each other a smile and everyone have a wonderful day?" read more

On December 26th, 2014 for an expedite process passports for my two children. We will be traveling next week, therefore I had to paid for the expedite process. Today January 6th, I received an email saying: Thank you for your recent passport application. However, additional information is needed to process your request. ¨ The identification for your parent(s)/guardian(s) who appeared on your behalf at the acceptance facility was not properly documented. Please submit a clear photocopy (front and back) of the identification presented at the acceptance facility where you applied. We gave the passports to the clerk and i guess their copy machine is not up to date and the copies we sent were not legible. This is unacceptable for the money we had to pay to get expedite passports. Not to mention all the waiting time we had to wait, because the clerk was too busy socializing with another clerk. DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE TO PROCESS A PASSPORT. I called the main passport facility and they told me they were missing my ID information. Oh Lord! I took my passport and the clerk made a copy of mine and my husband. How can they not received the copy of my ID?? Anyhow, I spoke to someone who was kind enough to tell me I could just email or fax a copy of my ID and after that it would be process. I specifically told her that when the passport was shipped to my address not to require a signature since we are working in the morning. Well, I check the status of the UPS tracking number and it was attempted to be deliver, but the driver didn't leave it, because he felt It wasn't safe, so now I have to pick it up at the UPS office. UPS said they delivered my package to this place. I got an email saying an attempt was made to deliver my package and they left a notice. There was no notice. When I went to the site they said they need a different tracking number than UPS. So I had to go to the UPS store to get the tracking number for the post office. When I went back to the post office with the post office tracking number, they said the box wasn't there. They recommended me to wait. I've been waiting 6 days now and nothing. I would NOT recommend any deliveries thank need to go through here. With normal mail they are fine. read more

We have our passport service at another place (largely because this place does not provide passport service on Saturday), so I'd like to give them 2 and half star for their postal services only. They do need more employees behind the teller windows or be better managed. For majority of time, they only have one window for the passport service, and another 1 or 2 windows for other postal services. So you always see 2 long lines inside this place, and move slowly. Visiting them at early hours does not help, cause they have less work force at that time: one window for passport, and another for other people. They have a pair of self-service kiosks but the software is kind of not very user-friendly. I only use them when they have employee helping customers to do it. Generally their home delivery is OK. But after several months I receive mails in my box obviously don't belong to my address. I did lose some important mails in past years, so I doubt they also went to some other places for the same reason. Lastly I'd like to complain their scanning service. Most of the time, the parcel with the tracking number should appear in the USPS online system within one hour of acceptance. But a few times my parcels did not show up in the tracking system properly until they arrived at the next postal facility. So I have mixed feeling about this post office. Their location is convenient to me, so I will keep visiting them anyway; and I really hope they can improve their service in the future. read more

I just came back from the Forest Hills Post Office and the service was excellent! I was tracking my package online that was marked Delivered/In Mailbox 3 days prior on a Saturday. There was nothing in the mailbox so I decided to go in person to the post office to see if it was there. Robert took his time with me and did everything he could. I left my phone number and went home. No more than 1 hour later, he gave me a call and the package was found. Apparently, the weekend carrier delivered it to the wrong address, but the regular weekday mail carrier (never had a problem with him) found the package and placed it in my mailbox. Things like this happen, especially during the busy holiday season. So I am glad they were able to resolve the issue so quickly. read more
