A month ago, when they still had their drive thru mail boxes, I dropped off about a dozen thank you cards and not one has been delivered! They were just normal, flat cards in an envelope and all stamped with the "Thank You" stamps. When they pulled the outdoor boxes, did they bother to check and see if mail might still be in there? THIS POST OFFICE SUCKS! how is it labeled on the door "Lobby open 24/7" but they lock the doors every single time after about 4pm??? How are people supposed to get their mail or drop off packages that work? These postal workers need to get it together & actually follow what their signage states. I've been in this post office before and have always been pleased with the great service and short wait. I work extremely close to the location off Yosemite but always seem to come to this location. It's proven to be worth the drive in the past. My most recent stop in was to mail off a small package. I hardly ever send anything off larger than a 8x11 envelope so I knew I was going to need help. The parking lot is spacious and conveniently located off Holly and Evans. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile and hello. The teller was able to instruct me, answer my questions and give me some tips. I welcomed and appreciated the great customer service since it seems hard to find anymore. I let the gal who helped me know that the service she gave me is just one of the many reasons I always trek out to this location. Besides the hours of operation review (big Oops on the post offices part) I think most of the reviews you read about this location will help validate my review. read more

I've been here a bunch of times, as my check ins attest. It's true that a post office experience can vary. I try to remember that postal workers are under a lot of pressure from everyone to manage a lot of things they cannot always control. Most of the staff at this location try to do what they can to help. I have had a P.O. box here since 2005, so I know the ins and outs here pretty good. The biggest annoyance here is the long lines/short-staffed feel that gets worse around the holidays. Still, if you need something, they are there to help. read more

It's a post office, so it's not like you don't know what you're getting into. I tend to go here the most, as it's right off of Evans on my way to most places. With the addition of Automated Postal Centers (APCs), mailing most packages domestically and some smaller weight international packages is a breeze. I love it. Today after being a long time customer and always getting good service. I tried to remember my PO Box number and just couldn't I only go in once or twice a month to check my mail. I had the number in my phone but my phone was not connecting to the internet for some reason. Anyway I went to the service window to ask if my mail could be checked. The young man was very polite and said he could look it up for me. However the lady who usually helps at the counter came up behind him and said "You forgot your number again?!" As I was explaining to her she walked away and came back with my mail and told me "You better remember it this time, we're not gonna keep giving it to you" Needless to say not only were my feelings hurt I was embarrassed as there were customers who heard her. That was very humiliating and uncalled for her to say because what happens if I forget agsin, I'm paying for my box are they seriously not going to give my mail because I forget the box number? Don't they work for the customers for whatever we may need, including recalling our box numbers if we sincerely forget? read more

The post office on Holly Street and Evans is HORRIBLE! For the second time in 6 months they have delivered MY package to the wrong address. Now I have to call and deal with them trying to get MY package. It was my usual mailman as I saw him so he should have known better! Not at all organized and there is never enough people helping others. They lost my paperwork to replace my key, so I filled it out a second time. I called and checked the status leaving messages for both managers. When they finally got the key replaced claimed they had no phone number for me. Needless to say, this was not the best experience. Wandering around, 8:40, nothing open or telling me WHEN anything will, I see a guy at the pickup window getting his package, friendly convo happening, emp asks if he can help with anything, I ask what time they DO open and he informs me 9 but is there something he can do.. .hey, a take charge attitude at a government institution?? No way. I mention how I'm unable to do address changes online becuz of my (1 name only, no first and last) name not being accepted in their system... Who just loves to go to the post office!?! *Anyone? *Anyone? Well if you do, it just so happens that this Post Office is one of the better ones in town IMO. The employees are not only courteous and friendly (SHOCKED!), they also work at an above average pace, to ensure that the wait time is not as bad as Joe's 47 minute wait at the Hampden P.O. It is a little out of the way for me, but seeing as I have had awful luck (with the P.O. losing a package once) and super long wait times, I will trek myself over to this location for all the good mail juju I can get! So again, if mail is your thing, you may have to just check out this little gem for yourself! read more

I do not claim to be a post office afficienado (sweet jesus I just battled 5 minutes with spell check for that word but after that much effort, I have to use it. Ok, Truth, I didn't want to rework the whole sentence); however, I do know the different between really helpful people because that's just who they are and people who aren't. I have been amazed time and again by the helpfulness of the staff at this Post Office and it can't be easy. Every time I go in there...there's a line. The guys there are extremely informative and willing to go the next step even though they don't really have to. I've experience it myself when I lost a package and found more helpful information from a visit to the post office then the website and toll free number combined. Now what can one say about the Post Office?!?! Stamps are expensive?...duh! But here's some tips that you can really dance to. In the lobby area that is open all the time, you will find one of those Automated Postal Centers which if you've got an easy send, you're golden. You can ship packages, buy stamps, pick up some designer boxes..speaking of designer, say you've got something to send but you forgot to get a box. Don't worry...Be Happy, this Post Office has got you covered. Hell, you can even forget the card and still look like a champ while mailing your Mom's third cousin's son one removed's birthday present. Tip Alert Tip Alert...if you are going to send Priority but not in one of the lovely specially designed USPS boxes, make sure you use a few of the Priority stickers. If you don't, then you might as well save your pennies...or give them to me. Both works. Usually there are some of those stickers in the label display right above the scale area. What if you already have your postage covered? Well, one...you're a stud and the have a special invisible red carpet lane for you to drive through and through your letters in the mail slots. I even accidentally dropped my rent check in one of those things and the guys had it to my landlord the next day...true story! read more

This is one of two post offices located conveniently close to my home. Sometimes the wait is long, which is why I try to avoid post offices in general at all costs unless absolutely necessary. The Automated Postal Center makes shipping packages and buying stamps a snap but the employees are very friendly here if you need further assistance. There is ample parking, so that's definitely one less hassle. I also like the way the drive-up mailbox lane is separate from the parking lot so there's no bottlenecking at the entrance. read more

Adding another Post Office to the many that a frequent for work depending on where I am and where I'm going for the day. A weekly trip to the Post Office is common for me these days as I constantly send things certified for tracking purposes. I never knew there was a Post Office here and I must have driven past this location at least a dozen times in the past. It has a convenient parking lot that can hold quite a few cars. The inside was typical of any Post Office. The employees are some nice people here. Sometimes dealing with shipping, the cost, and figuring out what goes with what can be overwhelming and not a fun experience but the group here tries to make the experience as pleasurable as possible. I was in and out in no time and on my way back to work. I'll be a frequent visitor in no time at all. read more

I'm not a big fan of going to the post office, especially since my "home" post office is the Jefferson Post Office all the *BLEEPING* way down south of Hampden. That post office is the worst I've ever been to, ever. I've waited 47 minutes in line there before. Wretched... Anyway, this post office is the polar opposite. I'm highly disappointed and hurt by the disrespectful nature in which I was treated by a female employee today. There was no customer service and kindness from this person. I have been sending packages for my business for over three years and as a courtesy I prepay postage for customers that need to exchange or return items. Today I wrote on both the envelopes I was purchasing to send, stood in line, and then was told the transaction could not be done and I could not prepay the postage, but needed to pay for the envelopes since I wrote on them. She said I could pay almost triple than I normally pay for a large flat rate box for one piece of jewelry to be returned. I was treated in a rude and uncaring matter. I called the office to intercept my package and the gentleman I spoke with was very kind and helpful and did document to return to sender. However the processing in the other department failed to make note on the package itself in case the sticker came off. And my package was still delivered! Arrived at 8:55am. Supposed to open at 9:00. Actually opens at 9:05. Second in line. Wait while last at counter tells first customer it's Friday the 13th and she doesn't want to be at work. About 9:12 I get to the counter and ask for my package. She tells me, "I'm all by myself. I need you to go over there and ring that bell. I do. Five minutes later I ring again. Two minutes later I ring again and hear a voice yell, "I'm all by myself. You need to be patient." Two minutes later the door opens. She takes my information and comes back five minutes later to tell me, "I can't find it." I show her the tracking information. She tells me, "I'm gonna have you hold on while I open these gates for the other customers. Five minutes later she's back after telling every in the line to use the self-serve kiosk and getting another customer's tracking slip. At 9:30 she opens the door, gives me a big sigh, and shoves the package at me. Please let Postmaster Louis DeJoy his "efficiency improvements" are working as planned. read more

All the negative reviews for this post office are all true. I have had multiple issues with this particular location. I just now attempted to call and the phone was picked up, I could hear people working in the background ( boxes being taped etc.) the receiver was placed on the counter and no attempt was made to answer my call. I called back and no answer. This is the worst treatment I have ever received. I will now have to go there to be treated poorly in person. Unhelpful, unpleasant, and unkind. I dread going to the post office. I hate standing in line and that's all I imagine myself doing when I think of having to do post office errands. This one isn't so bad though. The lines can be long but they move quickly, and honestly most of the time the lines aren't even that long. There is always somewhere to park. The employees are not mean and they even joke around at times. They also have so many mailboxes out front in the drive through area to mail items, even at peak times of the day it flows smoothly. I haven't tried the automated Postal Center yet-I have a package in my Jeep I've been procrastinating so I think I'll give it a try. Stay tuned for update :) read more

AVOiD THiS POST OFFICE IF YOU CAN!! I don't know why this place ever got anything above one star. Ever. The worst post office ever!!!!!! I hate hate hate aiming here it's dreadful. Always always expect a 20mn line. The ladies are not nice at all. The guy just went on lunch break when there was a line of 10 ppl so at this time there's about 15 people waiting in line and one person working. I've been going here for a while since it's close to my house and this happens EVERY Single time. I don't know why I waste my time here. Finding a new post office asap because I'm so done with this place after what happened today. read more

HORRIBLE!!! Just horrible! I fought through traffic to get here, and although all the doors were still open, and there were 3 people in line, I was told to leave by an Asian/Latina female employee (with medium-long curly black hair) because they "closed at 5p". It was only 5:04p and they had to help the other 3 people in line anyway, and although I pleaded with her, my request fell on deaf ears. The white female employee (with the auburn medium length hair) also chimed in to say they can't help me. I've worked in customer service for 17 years (half my life) and I'm appalled at how these Government employees treat their customers! I usually go to the Post Office on Smoky Hill, and they are always very friendly and helpful. This place needs to train their employees to practice tact and a modicum of respect for the people who keep them employed! Utterly disgusted with this branch, and will NOT return! read more

USPS has gone down hill quite a bit in the past few years. I wanted to write a poor review when I moved from NJ to Denver and they lost the contents of a box I shipped with them. It was hundreds of dollars worth of school text books and military books and records. It was one of three boxes I shipped using media mail. Two of the boxes showed up in terrible shape, but the third box did not. It arrived about a week later, repackaged in a different box with the original address cut out of the original box and taped to the new box. Almost all of the content was missing. The few books and papers that remained were all destroyed. I called USPS's 800 number to report it and open a case. They said there was nothing they could do and wouldn't give me a single penny for the shipping or the content. The box was technically delivered, even though it's content was not. They suggested I packaged it poorly and said they couldn't be held responsible for my errors. This was a tightly packed box of books, with no wiggle room. It was 55 pounds, packed into a brand new Home Depot heavy duty box rated to 85 pounds, and very thoroughly sealed in heavy duty packing tape. It is not my first time moving cross country. It was packed properly. I was disgusted by the way customer service handled it and constantly belittled and insulted me. I was shocked. A few weeks after that incident, I had a laptop shipped from TX to NJ for my company. USPS could not deliver the address due to a type. It was supposed to be returned to sender, but instead was sent to their sorting facility in Atlanta, GA. Upon the laptop arriving at their facility, they managed to loose track of it. The package had a tracking number and they lost it in their sorting facility. Ridiculous. We tried to collect the insurance for the laptop to reimburse the company the laptop was being sent to. They said we would have to wait 90 days while they try to find it within their facility before they would fulfill the insurance claim. This was a major issue because we could not closeout the project with the company until they received their laptop back from us. This $800 dollar laptop was holding up a few million dollars in revenue. Not only that, waiting 90 days would push it to the next fiscal quarter. I big issue with bookkeeping. It ended up being escalated to officer level in both companies and after a month of significant pressure, USPS was finally able to locate the laptop and deliver it. Again, their customer service was beyond reprehensible. What finally made me decide to write up a negative review for USPS (and specifically this Post Office) was the most recent issue we've had with them. I live in an apartment complex served by this post office. UPS, FedEx, and all other carriers follow standard procedure. You attempt to deliver to the door. If the resident does not open the door, then you deliver to the front office as a secondary recipient. This post office, however, was delivering all packages for all residents to the front office, which does not have capacity for all those packages. The front office told the post office they would need to deliver to the residents. The post office instead went to the central mail boxes in the building and left a note for each resident saying they missed the package delivery and there would be two more attempts before we would need to drive to the post office to pick up our packages. So unless you are literally standing right next to the mailboxes when they come to deliver, they will leave a note saying you missed it. I called this post office and once again found the customer service to be horrible and frustrating. I was told they deliver mail to a mailbox and a box to a parcel box. If no parcel box is present, they will not deliver any packages. That is absurd. My front door is my parcel box. If I were living in a house with a mailbox by the curb, you would deliver mail to that mailbox and boxes to my front door. Same concept. They are rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to perform their jobs of delivering packages. All three of these issues occurred within a 4-month period. There is a good reason USPS has been struggling the past few years. With this kind of service, I am really hoping they close up shop and become one with the history books. read more

The service from this facility is horrible. The mail carrier assigned to our route thinks it is her sole job to defend the rules and regulations of USPS. Even though I receive more than average amounts of mail, she tried to refuse to leave a piece of mail addressed to me with the incorrect apartment building number, but correct name and unit number, knowing full well that I live here and knowing me personally. I have been attempting to get another apartment number registered for mail delivery, but have received nothing but a runaround. The Supervisor, Ms. Larson, says she will research the issue and return the call, but it's now been over 60 days with no response. I've attempted to call her multiple times, but the phone just rings until it goes to a high pitched squeal similar to a fax line. In the meantime, the carrier refuses to deliver mail to the resident and the resident has now been informed that the branch will no longer hold her mail, but will return to sender. Attempts to contact other individuals at this location have resulted in the response "you're not the person living at that apartment, and we cannot discuss this with you". This is my property and resident is leasing the apartment from me, making me the person that they should be talking to. I have multiple apartment communities throughout Denver and have never had an issue adding an apartment number for mail delivery in any of my other locations. Makes me wonder if this is just a rule that the Holly branch has made up and that is why I've gotten such a run around and no response from the Supervisor. read more
