Had an appointment today for a passport and photos and, honestly, I was dreading it. The wait. The process. All of it. I showed up about 25 minutes early and somehow got called back a few minutes before my appointment. And honestly? Aside from this old post office building being a little warm inside, the experience was amazing. You know why? Ernest in the passport office. That guy is amazing. At this point, USPS delivering my mail would apparently require a level of precision and investigative skill normally reserved for NASA. The package at issue was scanned "Delivered, Parcel Locker" at 5:07 PM on August 6. It was not in a parcel locker. It was not in my mailbox. It was not accessible to me. My building uses LuxerOne, which sends an electronic notification when a package is actually placed in a locker. USPS successfully delivered another package to me earlier that same day at 12:25 PM, and--miraculously--the LuxerOne system worked exactly as intended and notified me. The 5:07 PM package generated nothing. And this was not an isolated incident. This was the FOURTH package USPS has marked "delivered" that I did not receive. Naturally, I submitted an inquiry. Enter the female supervisor who identified herself as "Le Le." If Le Le is her actual legal or professional name, fine. If it is a nickname, I'm genuinely curious when USPS decided that supervisors handling formal complaints about missing federal mail should introduce themselves like contestants on a VH1 reality show. Customers should be given the actual name of the employee handling an official complaint. But the nickname quickly became the least concerning part of the conversation. Le Le informed me that she had a photograph of my package and triumphantly announced that it wasn't my package at all because it belonged to "C Holmes." Except: Her name is "C Holcomb. And C Holcomb is the SENDER. I am the RECIPIENT. My name is printed prominently on the shipping label above my Denver address. So somehow the person supervising an investigation into missing mail apparently concluded that the person listed in the return-address section was the intended recipient. This is not advanced logistics. This is literally understanding which direction a package is traveling. Apparently we needed to bring in Dora the Explorer: "Can you find the recipient?" When I attempted to explain the difference between a sender and a receiver, Le Le repeatedly interrupted me. She then delivered what may be the most astonishing statement I have ever heard from someone entrusted with the United States mail: "You won't be getting the package anyway because you have a bad attitude." Excuse me? Since when is mail delivery contingent upon whether a postal supervisor approves of the recipient's personality? I must have missed the new USPS policy: Postage paid. Address correct. Delivery subject to Le Le's vibes. She also told me: "You need to come up here so I can show you that it's not your package." I already possess a photograph of the actual box. The tracking number on the box matches the tracking number under investigation. The shipping label has my name on it. The sender's name is in the sender section. I am not sure what live demonstration at the post office was supposed to overcome those inconvenient facts. Perhaps she planned to point at the label very confidently until reality changed. She also announced: "I won't be here tomorrow, so you need to speak with someone else." That was one of the few helpful suggestions she made. Because after being interrupted, spoken to disrespectfully, told I supposedly would not receive my own package because of my "bad attitude," and subjected to an argument over the apparently mysterious concept of a return address, I told her plainly that I would be filing a complaint and I did not want to speak with her again. That should have ended the interaction. Instead, she called me FOUR MORE TIMES. Four. After I explicitly told her to stop contacting me. I ultimately had to tell a USPS supervisor to stop harassing me and stop calling my phone. Imagine filing a complaint because your package disappeared and somehow ending up needing to tell the supervisor investigating the disappearance to stop repeatedly calling you. At this point, I have retained the voicemail, screenshots, tracking information, photographs of the shipping label, LuxerOne records, and my phone records. And unlike this investigation, my documentation actually shows who the sender and recipient are. To be clear, this is bigger than one rude employee. Four packages have now been marked delivered by USPS and have not reached me. The August 6 package was the fourth. That is a pattern. I have therefore filed/escalated this matter with the USPS Office of Inspector General, including the circumstances surrounding the missing packages and the supervisor's conduct. If the OIG does not resolve the matter of these four packages that USPS claims were delivered but that I did not receive, I will be contacting my state representatives and other appropriate elected officials and providing them with the documentation as well. Don't waste your time coming to this post office. Every morning of every day they have a huge line and not enough workers and the women who do work are so sloooooow. It takes them over 10 minutes to set up on their computer and actually attend people. They had a line almost out the door this morning. Where I couldn't even get the mail sent out. They need better workers, more of them and better management. This isn't the first time I deal with this. Save your time and just go to another post office. You will be in this line for over 30 minutes trying to send out one piece of mail. read more

The years have passed in the main post office Downtown it has become an eerie place to do business. There are a lot of post office boxes in a huge building with only a handful of employees that seem to be working. Customers are few and there is little activity. It is a nice facility, but very few people come to do business in person at the downtown post office. You get good service from the postal clerks. Postage stamps are no longer cheap. Most people do their personal and business mailings through emails. It appears to be a place where time has passed it by. read more

Made an appt for a passport photo. Had to wait 2 weeks for an opening. Finally paid them to take my photo to renew my passport and it's not acceptable by the govt website. Says the beads and layout are wrong. If you're going to offer this service at least learn how to do it right. And good luck getting your $ back. A total waste of time and money!!! Worst post office I've ever experienced, never coming back. I had shown up to report my stamp was stolen off an important parcel. And I needed another stamp. Waited in a long line after attempting the vending machine 4 or so times. To no avail. It would not read either of the cards I tried using. Homeboy wasn't the least bit interested that I was ripped off what with the dozen of people in line behind me already getting impatient. Isn't stealing postage a federal crime? Having seen the line wrap around the entire inside of my local USPS, I couldn't... so I took a chance and instead went to the 20th St. Office instead. A bold move, but it paid off. I was in and out within 15 min. There were at least three windows open and things moved quickly. Shipping packages to Canada requires customs forms and you can't do that on the automated machines. So a patron waits... and waits... and sometimes waits more. There's plexiglass that separates worker from customer and they are still offering appointments for passports at this location. There was no way to make a passport appointment at any location for 200 miles. I walked in. I had to wait between appointments, but I was seen. The staff were thoughtful and expedient, considering the circumstances. Hopefully, USPS fixes the appointment page. read more

This place/building is huge!I felt like I was walking into some corporate building. Well once inside, they have all the necessities needed to mail off stuff. A bit messy and unorganized looking in certain corners but nothing that effects the traffic flow to much. In usual fashion they only had a couple attendants manning the counters. I have avoided writing this review, because I understand how trying it must be to work at the post office, but I have reached my limit. I wish the employees here would remember that, at the end of the day, they work in customer service. I ship packages frequently and live down the street, so I am at this post office several times every week. I dread going on days I know I will have to interact with the staff. The older staff are helpful and friendly, but the younger staff are generally brusque and unkind. They have made me cry on multiple occasions, and I see in these reviews that this is not a unique experience. Today, I was taking a picture of my shipping label to keep track of tracking number. I have done this every time I have gone there, and I have never been told that I can't (this is not an excuse to continue to do so, but I was unaware of the rule because no one has told it to me in my 3 years of coming here). I was on a call with headphones in, so I misunderstood what the employee was saying to me, and he immediately shouted at me. Afterward, I could clearly see him talking to another employee about me. It was disheartening after making a genuine mistake. If you need to drop off packages, use the self-serve kiosk, etc. this is a great post office. It's large, the location is convenient, and there's a large parking lot. If I have to interact with the staff, though, I will truly leave and come back later if I have the time in order to avoid interacting with some of the employees. read more

I arrive to an ice and snow packed dangerously slick parking lot. While most businesses have a clean parking lot after the snow three days ago, the USPS does not. The Self Service area outside has no machines and no explanation. (see my photo) The vending machine inside that sells the quantity of stamps I need is broken. There are NINE windows for service and ONE clerk. 12 People in line. (see my photo) When I get to the window to buy two rolls of stamps, the clerk only has one in his drawer. I admire our postal service moving a letter across the USA for a mere $.44. But the customer service at postal centers is nearly always abysmal. read more

I don't visit the post office often, but a new found love of swapping books wit family and friends has me shipping more often these days. This is a large location at Champa and 20th, very convenient for me after work. Lot's of street parking and even a lot. They offer a "do it yourself" machine if you prefer not working with the USPS representatives. I opted for the personal experience and waited in line for the counter. A longer line, arriving around 4pm during a weekday, this may be normal since this is the after work crowd. The woman helping me was efficient and friendly and helped me very quickly which I appreciated. As I ship more and more this will most likely be my go to Post Office location. read more

If I ever have to send a package...esp. around the holidays when I have a ton to send...I venture on down to this post office instead of the more convenient one in Caphill. Why you ask? COME ON NOW! It's hard to like a US Post Office...but I must say this busy location keeps the line moving and always provides good service. They deal with all kinds of crazy so be nice, greet the clerk with a smile and you'll be amazed at how nice they are in return. Getting a PO Box was easy and there's plenty available. I had my flight cancelled by Southwest to New York on December 27th. I had to get some items to New York, so I sent them out by overnight mail on December 27th, scheduled to arrive on December 28th. It is now December 31st and the package has not arrived. The USPS had 4 days to get it delivered and could not get the OVERNIGHT package delivered. I am so angry. Gotta tell ya' - I dread going to the post office...especially during the holiday season. The lines. The rude people. The disgruntled employees. The pure lack of respect for efficiency. I don't know what disturbs me the most. So, when I pulled into my new neighborhood P.O. I was looking forward to a poor experience. Not here. Self service machines in the lobby (which work). A long line...but fast moving. Serviced by some of the friendliest, most patient employees I have ever witnessed. 15-20 people in line ahead of me...moved to the front in about 6-8 minutes, and watched as each patron (with their un packed gifts and their no zip codes and their screaming children) moved surely and swiftly to the front and out the door. I love this post office - it is closest to my house but not "my" post office, and that makes me sad. Staff is usually pretty friendly. Most of the people that come here know what they are doing, as opposed to the other where it seems most of the people generally have never mailed a package in their lives! Hey, its the post office. You're going to wait in line. But this place runs like a well-oiled machine and its where most of the clerks behind the counter recognize their regular customers and are very friendly with the chit chat, but not to the detriment of getting the job done. I've never had a negative or cranky person wait on me, but I'm also usually the perky "how is your day going" person. Its proximity to the bus depot is the biggest negative, in my opinion, as there are some shady characters roaming around. I actually hide my valuables in the car when I park it here. read more

With a trip coming up in the next 6 weeks and having lost my passport recently, I was in a bind for time in getting a lost and new passport form submitted. I drove to two different passport and post office facilities in the Denver, Colorado area. 1) US Post Office on 3800 Buchtel Blvd was extremely dismissive/off-putting with no further guidance unless I made an appointment (which was full and no times that could get me an expedited passport.) 2) The Colorado Passport Agency in Aurora would not even let me speak with anyone and just pointed at the sign through the door that said "Appointment Needed" I called the US Gov customer service line and they told me I had two options: Either I schedule an appointment (which I understand, but people have last minute happenings which makes this not always plausible) or to wait until 3 days before my trip, go online, and hope that there is an appointment opening or cancellation. They said no one did walkins during these times... ****** Finally I went in to the Post Office on 20th street and waited maybe 5 minutes before ***JESSE*** asked about my situation. He immediately took me back when he had a free minute. Unfortunately, I was missing something from my application but he let me know his following day schedule and told me to come in between a couple of appointments that he had. I came the next day and even though he had back to back clients, he made time to submit my applications in between. He was extremely knowledgeable and I can not imagine anyone more qualified and looking out for the CUSTOMER than him. With everything I went through to just submit some forms, a photo, and pay THEM around $200, Jesse made it less stressful and just really stepped up and showed he is out for the customer, especially during these already stressful times. I've visited this Post Office on more than on occasion and I can say that it's always busy every time I come. The security guard at the door is always friendly and greets me whenever I visit. The location is decent, except for during the "rush hour" that never seems to go away. The staff is friendly and they honestly try their best to get people in and out of there as quickly as possible. It's not their fault if a customer is not prepared or doesn't know what they want. I've always had positive experiences with the people behind the counter and honestly the only drawback to this Post Office is that sometimes the wait time can be a little bit longer than anticipated, but what are you gonna do?
