I wish I could tell you to avoid this place, but how can I? The post office near your home is the post office near your home. Sadly this one is horrific. Per many other reviewers there's a woman that works there, Tammy, how she is still employed is beyond me she's unbelievably rude. Recently my delivery person has decided to stop leaving packages at my door, so now I have to go to the post office and pick them up. They are only open from 9:30 to 5:30, I'm at work those hours, the only time I can get there is the measly three hours they are open on Saturday. I've tried calling them, the phone rings off the hook until it disconnects. No one answers. This place is god-awful. read more

This is not the post office that delivers mail to me, but I opened a PO box here because it's more convenient for me to get to and there are shops nearby. I followed the USPS' instructions, applied and paid online for this location, and brought the required IDs to complete my application. The same woman that everyone else on Yelp has complained about claimed that my IDs weren't good enough, and kept demanding to see either a DMV issued car registration or car insurance - even after I told her I don't own a car. She was extremely rude and unhelpful, and clearly I am not the only one who has had an issue with her. I promptly went outside to look up UPS' mail box rates (4x the price of a PO box) and how to get a refund. Luckily, when I went back in, this woman was gone, and a younger guy, Kevin, was there and willing to help me. What a gem - it literally took him 5 min to check everything, countersign a form and give me my keys. If the unhelpful Karen at the front is still there next year, sadly I won't be renewing my PO box here, and instead, I'll be going to the post office in Sunnyside (they've been amazing.) read more

If I could give a zero as a review that's what I would give this "post office" from hell. They constantly get boxes wrong. Last week I had a package that I refused delivery for, which means they are to return to sender. The clerk literally writes on the package in black marker "REFUSED". 4 days later it appears in my box a second time. I take it back to the counter and the clerk simply says "somebody is not paying attention back there". My magazines and newspapers to which I subscribe and pay good money are almost always torn or half destroyed. When I bring it to their attention they blame "the machines". And the problem continues. Then there is the issue of parking. On the east side of the tiny parking lot (4 spaces plus a handicapped spot) there is supposed to be a painted area that separates the one parking spot from the handicapped spot. Well, you can't see it and people constantly jam their vehicle in between the designated parking spot and the handicapped spot. This causes me to not be able to get into my car because the idiot who parked in between the two cars was is so close that I can't open my driver side door. I have informed the "postmaster" several times about the problem, and after 2 years still nothing has been done. And yes, the 3 windows are almost never open at the same time; even when the line is literally out the door. And all the employees have attitudes of one kind or another. They seem put out to provide friendly service. This place needs to be closed down, rebuilt, or re-staffed. Probably all of the above. read more

The 1.5 star rating must be a glitch in the matrix because I've had nothing but good experiences at this branch! I mailed 4 items today and the total was cheaper than anticipated. There was also very little wait time which was helpful for my busy schedule. Peter was the star of the show. He helped me catch a mistake I had on one of the addresses I had written. Super upbeat and fun personality which made a mundane errand into an entertaining interaction. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The lady that works here is a terrible & refuses services by lying and making you go to another post office. I went to get what I needed to done, and I was missing a barcode. After me not understanding and accepting I needed to find the barcode, I said ok you don't have to be rude about it. I stepped out of the line and retrieved the barcode needed. I stepped back to see her and she was like "Ope the system is down now. You should wait a day because I wouldn't bother all the other usps systems are down too." I immediately knew she was lying bc how would she know that if it just happened and I know 100% of the usps systems aren't going to be down all day. When I got home I called the same location and got the same lady so I asked if they even performed that service that she just said she would perform and she said they don't do that here. I called another location at 4910 Brighton blvd and they were so friendly and confirmed their systems were in fact not down and to come in. THIS LOCATION CLOSES AT 5:30 DURING THE WEEK NOT 6:00!!! I arrived at 5:31 and was literally told by an employee holding the door shut that the post office was closed THROUGH the glass door. The customer service was so terrible that she wouldn't even open the door to tell me to my face. I'm not sure what she thought would happen - that I would barge through a federal building and demand she take my mail?? As if that would have ended well for me. Another employee was in the parking lot emptying the boxes and I asked her if any other post office was open. She gave me a location that there was no way I could make it to. When I told her their site was listed on-line as being open until 6 p.m., she literally TURNED HER BACK on me and ended the conversation. I am mystified that people can a.) work in such a hostile environment and b.) treat people the way they do. The federal businesses need a serious lesson in how to acknowledge fellow human beings and I don't know...learn to have basic manners. read more

I run a small business and drop off packages weekly to this post office. I ship with USPS because it saves me money but over the course of the last year they have lost well over $1000 in packages from my business that I then have to refund customers for. It is one of the most frustrating things. Today I went in to ask about a package I had dropped off 7 days ago that has not even been scanned yet. I asked for a refund because it is obviously they lost the package in the facility and the woman told me to email here manager... then proceeded to tell me they don't have an email.... Probably the worst post office I've ever encountered. Im new to the neighborhood and this is the closest post office to my house. I went through them to mail my wedding invitations and boy was that a HUGE mistake. I sent them out two weeks ago and for some reason I kept getting some sent back to my house all beat up... one of them was even opened! I go to the post office to see what the issue was and it turns out someone put some of them in the machine backwards because they thought that my return address (on the back of the envelope) was the mailing address... Yes you read right folks. Someone thought the BACK of an envelope was the mailing side (even though the FREAKING STAMP was on the front). This lady was so rude and didn't even apologize. Another old school Denver USPS, I'm not shocked about the lack of automated machines in the offices around town anymore. However, I did notice that there were three (count 'em: one, two, three) workers behind the counter. I haven't seen that at a Postal Office in years. Even with a small queue of customers ahead of me, the wait was maybe 4 minutes. The man who helped me was nice, too. I mean, almost everyone in Denver is nice, but even the "disgruntled" Postal workers? Amazing. There's even a handful of parking spots outside the building. No worries about digging up change for the meters here. And even if you couldn't park right in front, there's complimentary street parking all around. Hallelujah! read more

What a bunch of cry babies! You try working in a post office and see how "pleasant" you are. I've lived in this area for years and have not had any problem with this P.O. Lately, however, when I go in I'm amazed at how many people are clueless. They come in with their items unpacked, no clue about how to pack and expect to be babied through the process. Yeah, it's tiny, but guess what? It managed to accommodate people for years until the mass migration to Colorado. Usually hit or miss as far as being a great place to send packages. Don't go around 345/4pm-ish, it will be slammed, there will be no parking anywhere nearby, and you will wait in line for what seems like eternity (it's really not that long...but you're looking around a 20min wait). The clerks are usually in a decent mood, though there are days when it feels like they are all very angry (but hey, everyone is entitled to a bad day, right?). Pretty much all post offices suck, so please know that I am grading this one on a curve. This particular post office might be the suckiest of them. The wait time is always excessive. The 2 women that I always see working here are so horribly unfriendly. Bobbi is particularly terrible. One particular example of her "service" occurred when I needed to pick up a parcel that was to be signed for. As I waited 15 mins to reach the counter, I ended up taking a phone call. She would not take my signed card or retrieve my package until I turned it off. I was not talking loudly or being disruptive. She said phone calls were not allowed and that I would not be served until I hung up. The fact that I was on the phone had absolutely NO effect on my ability to sign my card, hand her my ID or continue to wait for her. There is a slightly better location at 44th and Wads. If you must go to a USPS, I would recommend avoiding this location, unless like me, you absolutely have to. read more

Some of the worst customer service you'll get in nw Denver. The employees behind the counter don't care at all, have rude attitudes act like you're an inconvenience. I don't think I've ever seen one of them smile. I've been coming here for years and It's consistently like this. Also, I got in line at 9:29 on Saturday morning because they "open" at 9:30. At least seven people were in line behind me. We all stand there until almost 9:40 hearing them whistling and talking in the back while we wait because apparently the times of service also don't matter to them? Garbage employees all around. Our regular postal person is excellent, but no backup plans when he is off. We are a business which depends on fairly timely service. If you've ever been here you know who the grump is behind the counter. I try to avoid going here just because of him. I don't need to be judged or called out for dropping something off even though my "neighborhood post office is in LoHi." Today it was that the codes on my prepaid labels don't scan so now he has to enter them manually and I should check the toner on my printer. If you don't want to feel bad about yourself or don't want to feel guilty for dropping ANYTHING off, don't come here. Cherry Creek and 20th street are super friendly. I don't know why it has to be torturous every time, but it is. If there are 2 workers at the counter, it won't be for long especially when there is a line. This post office is a few blocks from my house but I am willing to drive from now on to avoid this place. Long lines, no help, grouchy workers, inadequate parking. Every time I have to deal with this post office I want to chew my own arm off. I would gladly pay for UPS or FedEx if that was always an option rather than deal with this USPS. It's almost bad enough to make me want to sell my house. The waits are 30 minute or more each time you're forced to go in, they regularly return items, and they make lame excuses like "receptacle full" when it's clearly empty. Total garbage. I've needed to get Amazon to intervene 2 times this month. I've been forced to go to the actual post office twice this week and won't see that hour of my life again. I went to UPS twice last week and was in and out in 3 mins both times, so good service is not impossible. read more

The guy behind the counter at 11:30 on a Tuesday was just super rude. Unfortunately for the people that work at the post office there are patrons that need their services who don't go to the post office often and don't know exactly how everything works. If you can't be moderately patient and pleasant, please don't deal with people for a living. I just wanted to pay for postage (and not ship yet) for a small package, that wasn't sealed yet and the worker grabbed a blank label and shoved it, and my package, back at me with a disgruntled sigh and rudely told me to fill it out and go to the back of the line. There were about 10 people currently in line and I had already waited over 10 minutes. I realize I may not have done things in the right order, but it was honest gaff on my part and there was no reason to be a dick. If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. Service inside the office is abysmal, the "managers" are all rude to borderline nasty, argumentative, and incompetent. The wait is always ridiculous unless you have prepaid postage and there is rarely more than one employee working the counters. In regards to the actual delivery service provided by the mail carriers, the post office seems to be scraping the bottom of the barrels to get people to deliver mail. I have zero confidence in having packages delivered to my house anymore because the likelihood of actually receiving the package is so low. My neighbor one block away is constantly getting my mail. I constantly have packages scanned as delivered that weren't and judging the way the packages get strewn on my porch, I am pretty sure the carriers throw the packages from 10 feet away. It is a dread to go in and confront the staff in the office about missing packages because they are so arrogant and belittling. If you live in a neighborhood that has mail coming through this post office, I recommend signing up for the USPS informed delivery emails on the USPS website. You get scans of expected mail for that days delivery. That is probably the best way to make sure you get the mail you're supposed to when you're supposed to get it since the post office can't deliver the mail correctly. read more
