This post office is beautiful on the inside I kind of bumped into this place by accident - well a on purpose accident - and decided I would never leave. The architect is so nostalgic (I feel like I stepped into a 1920's movie and I am underdressed - I really need to be in my Jackie Kennedy-Onassis gear). I thought I was in a museum or something. It's actually very small but still breathtaking - for a post office. I wondered why I haven't been here before. My local post office - Bardin location in Arlington is giving me poor customer service. Asking for help with minimal things has become an issue. One time is fine, but by the third major issue - I decided to look elsewhere. The Bardin location is conveniently located to my home and bank BUT this location is located close to work and just a better ambiance! I like the employees already. The prices for P.O. Boxes are pricier here and the boxes are much smaller for the price but I imagine that is design purposes. Since I am a P.O. Box customer, where I spend my money is important and how I am treated as a customer is a priority. This particular post office is connected to apartments, so don't pass it by. Stopped by again today for a change of address form and they will not have them for a couple of weeks...lol Stopped in today to get a change of address form...I was told they are completely out! I should have visited Yelp before checking into this location here. For starters, this place was hard to locate because it's a joint building with some luxury apartment complex. Secondly, I came here to ship my things home from TX. the nearest USPS from the place I was staying was a 45 min walk, so I figured I'd carry this with me during my visit downtown. By the time I got here to send my shipment out, the manager was telling me to try a different location because they ran out of medium-sized flat rate boxes to give me. Like huh??? I ended up caving in to using a size large flat rate box, resulting in spending five more dollars I shouldn't have. not sure what the heck is going on with location but it isn't a good look. I was visiting Texas and I know the USPS is struggling right now, but if I knew what a hassle it would have been to send home a few things, I would've opted for Fedex instead. read more

My residential mail comes through this location and they are constantly making up lies about why my mail can't be delivered. I'm convinced my carrier just doesn't want to make the stop for my complex sometimes and has reported excuses like "a wild animal on the property" and "the mailbox is inaccessible", none of which have ever been true. My friend once called multiple times and demanded they deliver a package she sent for my birthday and it took that type of action for my mail to be delivered. Seriously - what is going on at this location? Based on the other reviews it seems no one that works here cares about anything. read more

I came here twice in one week to mail out priority mail boxes for Christmas. I had the lady both times and both times she complained that she was the only one working the front. You'd think during Christmas they'd have an extra body or two, nope. I was expecting long lines, complaining, but what I didn't expect the employee's complaint that my 8 didn't look like an 8 enough. Um what?! Apparently, the top bubble of my 8 wasn't to equal ratio to the bottom bubble. She asked "am I shipping to area code 96708? It's not coming up as the city you listed". I said, that's an 8, not a zero. Then she scolded me about my top bubble size as the line behind me looked unamused. After I told her it's definitely an 8 and not a cursive 0, I paid my flat rate box fee and went on my way. I more than likely won't use this location again if she's at the front. read more

The young guy working there (clerk #2) was extremely rude and unprofessional on 2 separate occasions. When I was at the counter, he just looked at me in disgust and said absolutely nothing. When I handed him my envelope, he just said "close it". No please or anything. During the first altercation, I asked him if he put a signature required on the purchase and his response was, "I didn't put signature required because you didn't ask me to put signature required". This guy is so rude that I think that he has lost touch of reality. I filed a complaint but I highly doubt that they will do anything. In fact the manager said, "well everyone needs a job." This is by far the worst post office I have ever been to. Unfortunately, this one is the closest one near me and now I have to travel to a further USPS just to get reasonable customer service. read more

I have never seen a US Post Office this awful. I saw the low ratings when I went to it and behold...people weren't kidding. People in line to get packages said don't push the ringer more than once otherwise they will get irritated and leave you waiting longer...really. Waiting at the main window....the kid looked at me and then went to the back and never came back. The line mounted to about 20 people and still no one came up front. The lady there had a wonderful attitude when asking questions... Just the icing on the horrible cake. USPS is just going down the hill. It's not like you really have a choice when it comes to which post office delivers your mail....I digress. I have NEVER had trouble receiving packages via USPS until I moved to my current apartment community. Receiving packages now is an absolute nightmare. The front office here does not accept packages for residents but has given the post office access to the community to deliver mail, only they basically flat out refuse to deliver. They won't attempt to deliver whatsoever, then mark the package as "No secure location available" or "Business closed". I've even stopped the carrier and asked him where my package was as he was delivering mail. He lied to my face and said he didn't have my package, and lied and said that a second carrier was coming to deliver packages. Huge surprise, an hour later my package that was "Out for Delivery" all day suddenly showed an attempt to deliver/notice left. (No notice was left, by the way.) They keep blaming my apartment community but their job is to deliver the mail, not make excuses. read more

Worst. Post Office. Ever. We live next door to this post office and although it's in a beautiful building, the employees are the worst. Almost every person I've dealt with there has a bad attitude. Today I went in to mail something and the guy acted like I was inconveniencing him by being there. We switched apartments but stayed in the same building and tried to have our mail forwarded and didn't get any mail for two months. They never could explain what happened and said it probably all got returned back to the senders. They tried to blame me and said I'd entered the wrong date for forwarding but luckily I had my forward confirmation showing that wasn't the case. This place is a nightmare. PATHETIC, is the only way to describe service (of which there is none) at and from this facility! Ordered package from Amazon and paid for expedited delivery. This PO said they could not get into a residential building with a 24/7 Concierge in the lobby. Next day package is still not delivered! I go to PO where I am told all the mail to be delivered that day is still sitting in the back of the PO (at 445 PM). I carry the rather large package the 3 blocks to my home! We (and others that depend on this facility) go days with mail not being delivered when it is shown on informed delivery! Recently (last week) had a $1200.00 USD check stolen, that had been scanned but it never was delivered. Today, transposed two numbers in the zip code on a package and the clerk was too easy to look up the zip code (of a one PO town in Montana), so I was back home to look it up myself! You stand in line waiting while customers are allowed to pack their shipments at the window, while the clerk stands and watches! All you ever get from the facility manager are excuses! They would have negative stars, if that was an option! read more

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. This post office is the worst location I've ever been to. The clerks take their sweet ass time to retrieve one letter/box from the back. Once in a while you get the guy that looks like the Bud Light delivery guy and he's pretty quick, but the others, forget about it, we're at the mercy of their slow ass. It's as if they went on their smoke break and realized they have a line to attend to. Dont get some dumb ass that's not prepared with his postage or his box is not wrapped right. That's another 10 minute delay because the slow clerk has to show the dumb customer how to package it right. Today, I had two small packages to ship out...they were labeled, taped, and ready to go. The line started to get long and the slow ass clerk wants to strike a conversation with the customers. COME ON! REALLY? You see there's a 10+ person line and this idiot wants to converse. Then you have the idiot customer who just stood in that line replying back. There's not much we can do to improve their syrup-style motion. We're at their mercy since they have to stand in their little boring booth for eight hours and they dont give a shit about our precious time. Worst post office ever. I never post reviews but am at a loss as to how else to change things. Maybe there are others out there with the same trouble as Anne D. and I? My situation is almost exactly the same - they say packages are out for delivery and they're not, they mark them undelivered because the business was closed (it wasn't and the time stamp proves it), and they never leave a slip. Sometimes they don't even bother to pretend it's out for delivery - the carrier just leaves it at the post office that morning and later in the day marks that the business was closed when he tried to deliver. Granted, that's mostly carrier issues. I thought perhaps the PO itself wasn't so bad as when I called the first time to ask about a package and file a complaint about my carrier, they answered promptly and were very courteous and helpful. They promised to look into it and call me back. Never happened. AND when I call the post office now to find out where things are, no one answers. I have called repeatedly, at all times throughout all days, and the same thing. At this point all I can figure is that they take your name and number and then put you on a 'Do Not Answer' list. read more

This is an unusually small (and close to being eliminated?) post office in downtown Dallas. It's in the same building as Hospitality Sweet, but at the other end of the long hallway. The building is historic and worth a visit inside for the art and architecture. I've sent many packages from this location with nary a problem. The lines are short, the staff does its job, and I'm good. It's not the happiest or surliest USPS staff I've ever met. Like most post offices, the hours are business hours, which only helps if you work nearby. The no dogs sign is an interesting message, as the apartments in the upper floors allow dogs. Sooo, I'd recommend avoiding the artificial turf areas around the building. read more

Maybe half of why I give such a poor rating is because of the postal service period, but here goes... I keep getting certified mail...that the mail man doesn't have the decency to try and see if I am home. I mean, we may as well save the mail man some time because I am obviously not standing by my mailbox down the hallway all day. Now that we have that out of the way...hours of operation are 830-5 all of which which conveniently fit INSIDE of MY work hours. I'm sorry, 830 ISH. Try about 8:40 and the clerk took his sweet time even after he saw the line of customers with no regard that he should have been helping us a long time ago. I had one customer in front of me (who also had an issue with the mailman delivering mail, although his wasn't certified) and the clerk left for TWENTY MINUTES. The customer in front of me claimed that the pile the clerk brought back couldn't have been everything and the clerk responded (oh, and I do quote), "Yeah, right!" I claim bad customer service and it wasn't even to me! Now, parking. I happened to find a meter this time but last time I conveniently found a lot three blocks away for $7! That was after I drove around for 20 minutes, construction included. And the meter parking...I foolishly thought 20 minutes was enough to sign for a letter, it wasn't. Sarcasm intended. Avoid this like the plague if you can. It probably would have been easier to contact the sender to have them mail it again. read more

This is the worst Post Office I've ever had to deal with! They are extremely unprofessional and rude. There is a high turnover in the employees that handle your mail and supervisors. Mail is often lost. I mailed letters to myself to assess the situation and I am yet to receive them after 3 months. When I made a formal complaint, they found some of the mail... I received mail in January 2017 that was dated all the way back to September and October 2016. I confronted the employee and she told me that she is protected by a union and nothing can be done about it. I contacted the main post office and a customer service rep took my complaint and no one ever called me back. read more

Luckily I have only had one experience with this post office. One is too many though. I called them to ask them 2 questions about a package of mine that was at their facility. Keep In mind that she was extremely rude to me from the very beginning. She was immediately annoyed that she had to be on the phone. They cannot seem to get addresses correct, no idea why, we do not live in an apartment building. But they are constantly sending packages to the same number but an entirely different street. I've been to many post offices around the country. Dallas Post Office is run by BY FAR the LAZIEST group of people working under one roof. 1. If you go to the counter and ask for help, you will not get it. OR redirected to the door down the hallway. IF you ask for something that doesn't require a stamp, they will talk back to you but with that I mean through an insult and even laughing. Do not expect professional behavior. If you are instructed to ring the bell, You can spend some time walking from the counter, to the door, ringing the bell and waiting. Someone most likely WILL NOT come. BUT you will be able to hear them behind the door laughing, possibly even one of the women yelling out "sorry". 2. If you ask to speak to the supervisor, she's as bad as majority of her employees and also will not help. She will tell you she is, reassure you she is but will not follow through on any of the help and change she promise. Or lie to your face when confronted. 3. Have your tracking number ready. THEY WILL lose your package. Guaranteed. You probably won't be too happy at this point so you can file complaints at https://www.uspsoig.gov/form/new-complaint-form/. 4. And just FYI: Your mail - expect to get 1/3 of it delivered if you live in the area, especially in a complex. The rest will be returned to the sender. Doesn't matter just depends on how the cards fall when going out that day in delivery. If you have monthly subscriptions to magazines, you also might want to think about cancelling it. This post office is vital to downtown Dallas and it's unfortunate to say, does not have the workforce to support the honestly and integrity when performing their duties. read more

I want to preface that my good experience stemmed from a bad experience with the post office. My parents sent me a package for my birthday and i received a pink slip to my neighbors door (they were kind enough to give it to me) so I scheduled a redelivery. My package did not come when it was scheduled but I ran into the USPS delivery person, Russell, at the mailboxes and he was incredible. He gave me the number to reach him with the next morning when he was at work so he could personally check for my package for me. He found it! Russell was kind and understanding and truly altruistic. There are pretty much zero qualities that are acceptable at this post office. There's a dispute with my apartment complex in which they won't accept our USPS packages at our front office, but the post office's response to this is unacceptable. They choose to not only not deliver our packages to our complex at all, but fail to notify us that a package was even available for delivery. It's only by virtue of tracking numbers that we are even aware of our arrivals because THIS POST OFFICE DOES NOT INFORM YOU OF FAILED DELIVERY ATTEMPTS! If I didn't have the tracking number I would have never known of the failed delivery, and at this point all the tracking number does is tell me to reference a notification slip that I never received. This isn't the first time it's happened either as I've had failed packages before that I just didn't happen to have the tracking number for. This post office is full of either lazy employees or liars and I really expect more than this from our postal system. This is downright UNRELIABLE! I think the worst part is is that they refuse to acknowledge this problem at the post office. I have talked to them about this problem and I've just been told that there's a dispute with the complex, but all guidelines are being followed. I disagree as this isn't the first time I've 'had no packages' and they 'can't figure out' why I might not have packages. read more

I work in Ren Tower on Akard. Do not have any package delivered downtown through USPS. You will never receive it. They have a station in the basement. They are never there at posted hours. The USPS is horrible in general and this location is among the worst of all of them. The staff is very rude and doesn't care, they never answer the phone when you call them, they do the minimal work to keep their job - they should be working at Walmart not the US post office. Unfortunately, my mail goes through here before arriving at my residence. Roughly every 4th package I receive is either late, lost, or never delivered. I'm currently still trying to locate a package that was supposed to be delivered 2 days ago. So my recommendation, use fedex, DHL , or UPS. Stay away from these idiots. read more
