Seriously, you have to go in person and most places want you to make an appointment and/or take off work. The Mesquite USPS is one of the only places that takes walk-ins on a Saturday AND takes photos on site. I called ahead and I'm glad I did becuase there's some things you should know. 1)There is a sign in sheet and they yank it at noon. Everyone on the list will be served. The whole she-bang shuts down around 2ish. 2)They do have a copy machine and photo machine there so you do not have to make umpteen billion copies of your drivers license trying to get both the front and back on the same sheet of paper. 3) Bring a book, sweater and snacks. You will be there a minimum of two hours. They two folks working the passport line were nice and worked really fast, it just takes a little bit. We were getting passports for myself and the munchkin. Note--KIDS UNDER 16 REQUIRE BOTH PARENTS TO BE THERE TO GET A PASSPORT. She will be doing mission work in the Domincan Republic this summer unless I freak out and say she can't go becuase the island is unstable. Either way, we will both have passports.

I have security footage of my mailman ringing my door bell and setting my mail by the door of my front porch and it had everything but my information from social security. I went by the post office and reported it and they took my name/address/phone number said he would call me back never heard from them. I am going to file a complaint with the postal service and the police department.

I questioned whether or not I should come back but I stayed as I needed this package to go out as soon as possible. The line ended up moving very quickly as even more customers arrived. All three registers were open and the employees were working speedily and diligently to help the customers as quickly as possible. As my turn came I was told my package may not arrive by Christmas as the deadline for that date had passed. However I learned that only two days later my package was received and all was well. Very happy with the staff and the wonderful service I received.

Junk mail is clearly prioritized and arrives without issue, yet official government mail is frequently returned to the sender without justification. It is incredibly frustrating dealing with this location, and the poor management and lack of professionalism are completely unacceptable for a public service.

REGARDING PASSPORT WALK-INS [1 for experience during:…read moreJANUARY 2026] If you arrive here for walk-in's between 12:00PM-1:00PM, they'll go ahead and tell you they only accept the first four applicants rather than working the entire hour listed on the USPS website. While this time allotment makes sense since each passport should take 15 minutes to process if you have all the required documents, but if they end up finishing four applicants by 12:22PM(say, a family came in and they all had their information ready), with 38 minutes to spare until 1:00PM, you WILL get told to read the sign on the door and get told to go home. The reasoning stated is because: - Processing the passports uses up their Lunch Break, they're doing this out of generosity since they do not have to. - There are appointments all throughout the day, up to a full month out. I would have appreciated if the website mentioned that they only accepted FOUR applicants and NONE MORE between12:00PM to 1PM rather than choosing to not work the full hour they had allotted on the website. *If you still want to do passports here, be sure to arrive an hour or so early, I stress that they only accept FOUR people, and many others will arrive early as well. You may have a easier time seeki REGARDING PACKAGES AND MAIL [3 for unpredictability of busy hours] If you're going here for sending packages or letters though you'll probably get it sent within a 5-15 minute wait if it isn't busy. The doors make it look a little scary- but you walk in and you'll see a ton of PO Boxes and then you turn right and see the small little post office. The staff were really nice and I was in and out within 2 minutes. Overall great little hidden post office !

Getting someone to answer the phone is another challenge. So far I've been lucky in being persistent and calling most of the day. The major parcels missing were found and delivered. My glasses were sent back, so I called THE SAME DAY to ask if I could pick them up, and they agreed. A woman named Donna (or whatever her name was) called me right as they were closing, so I came the next day. I stood in an EXTREMELY HOT hallway waiting for someone from the Mesquite side to open the door, and NOBODY CAME! I came back ANOTHER DAY, and the exact same thing happened! This is absolutely RIDICULOUS! These are my PRESCRIPTION GLASSES! I NEED THEM TO SEE! I have called multiple times, and the Mesquite side NEVER answers the phone. I am a college student, and I do not have time to keep wasting trips because of their poor communication and unprofessionalism! I WANT MY GLASSES! If this is not resolved immediately, I will be taking this complaint to higher management. This is completely unacceptable, and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! DO BETTER!
