I had a very uncomfortable experience at this USPS location on January 21st due to the behavior of one employee. In front of other customers, the worker openly criticized my "manners," which felt completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Even if there had been a misunderstanding, there is absolutely no reason to reprimand or embarrass a customer publicly. Customer service, especially in a government office, should be respectful and neutral. Being spoken to this way in front of a full store was unnecessary and demeaning. I expect basic courtesy when using USPS services, not public commentary or judgment from staff. This interaction alone makes me hesitant to return to this location. read more

Excellent and efficient service. This is one of the few United states post office that is open until 6 PM. A lot of the other ones close at 5 PM. I went in and they gave excellent service. The staff was very knowledgeable and was able to help me with my return. It is also really nice that there is ample parking space here in the downtown area. read more

waited 25 mins for customer service after ringing the door bell several times only for employee to tell me and other customers no one was in the back to help us in a rude manner. instead of trying to assist and provide customer service she stated again no one was back there and didn't know when they were coming. it is highly frustrating to come to any place of business to receive or get customer service when the service is poor on top of having to spend time out your day and still can't get your mail or the service you came for. It's ridiculous the time we waited and was seen waiting to be told no one can help you. this my second time at this location and service is trash. either get more employees or new ones who actually wants to provide decent customer service to people who have no choice but to come to this location. read more

Very unhelpful man working at 4:30pm on July 11th. Needed to ship a package and he insisted I wanted the cheapest way possible. I never actually mentioned price being an issue I just needed to package shipped in a timely manner with tracking. And didn't even want to give me a label because it cost a dollar. Glenn with 2 NN's (it's an inside joke) is the absolute best!! in the past this location had horrible customer service and since he's been working the counter, I've noticed that every single time I've come in here which is frequently he's always always in the greatest of spirits and treat everyone super nice! I love that he's quick at his job and is able to multitask as well. Another gentleman that also works counter unfortunately I don't know his name and he is equally as sweet as well! The staff here has always been very pleasant and professional in my experience. They deal with a lot of very rude and angry patrons on a daily basis and still maintain a fair attitude. I have informed delivery, so every piece of mail I get is scanned by post office and emailed to me so I know what I'm getting. The Dallas Oak Lawn post office lost and important envelope sent to me by family member with gift cards inside. I'm sure someone there could feel there were plastic cards inside envelope and took my envelope. That letter was never delivered and all my other mail scanned that week was delivered. I went twice to post office asking for help and they basically said too bad. Terrible customer service and crummy, unhelpful attitudes with everyone I spoke to there. If your envelope is important or contains something valuable, better send it registered mail. Sad to think regular mail is unreliable and not secure. read more

I went in to this location to have my wedding invites mailed. The African American woman at the front pretty much refused to help me. She threw my invite on the scale. When I asked for the book to look at stamps she kept saying she only had a butterfly. I asked again for the book of stamps and she threw it on the counter. She was then huffing and sighing and stepped at least 10 ft back instead of helping me at the counter. She refused to even weight my response card. I walked off telling her I'd go to another post office that was nicer and the workers were friendlier. read more

I mailed off a bIrthday card for aunts birthday from this location three weeks ago and she never recived it. I'm sure someone stole what was inside but the least they could've done was still sent the card. My aunt is 75 and i put something special together for her. I will never go to this location again. This is the worst post office in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They are never open, and they conveniently closed their locations on Saturdays so that patrons cannot get their mail from their PO boxes. This is a disaster to have people pay hundreds of dollars to a subscribed mailbox in which they can never access. I thought the whole point of someone having a PO Box is to conveniently be able to check it using the public access points to their mailboxes. Do you SPS customer service sucks at this location, and is very non-conducive to working professionals who only want to check their mailboxes. read more

This is the worst post office I've ever been to. When I came during lunch one day the man working refused to mail my two international packages as he said he was too busy but he did take my certified mail envelope that had legal document. When promoted by the pinpad I gave him a for the review and he yelled at me asking why I did that! My legal documents never reached their destination. My formal complaint to the post office went nowhere. I decided to try again after months of going elsewhere to mail things just to give them another chance. I waited in line and then was told again, they didn't take international packages after 5pm. The guy (different than before) admitted that 'rule' isn't posted anywhere. I was just supposed to know! So, I guess they just do what they want to when it suits them, regardless of it being their job. It is not just one person, but a trend at this location. I am never going back here though it is my neighbor good post office and I suggest you go elsewhere as well. read more

So today, I had to go to the post office, because a birthday card I sent was chewed up by the post office, and returned to my address. To my surprise, I had the most pleasant experience. Timing is everything in the post office. I came on a Friday at around 1230, and there were only two other people there, no line. I was able to speak with USPS personnel instantly, and explained it was returned to my addressed, and I couldn't resend it as it stool because their machine accidentally chewed it up. She was the nicest postal worker I've ever encountered! She had me write on a label, and said that they would cover it in a secure package with tracking, because their machine accidentally destroyed the cover envelope. Thank you to her for making my frown turn upside down. A little advice, if at all possible get there in the early afternoon to avoid the morning and late crowds. Today it was a 5/5 experience, only a 4, because the machine put me in that position that I had to come back. Otherwise I applaud that worker, she's excellent, and I hope to see her again the next time I come back. read more

I will preface this by saying my shipping needs were complicated, and I went to the post office at around the time (late afternoon) when it got really busy, and there were lots of people in line. But the attention to detail was certainly lacking in my experience here. I had to buy a box and ship a book to Oregon, ship two additional boxes of books to Wisconsin, as well as add postage to a letter that was returned to my mailbox, and set up mail forwarding. I told the lady at the desk that I had "three media mail shipments". Since my Oregon box was prepaid media mail, I would have thought it would be clear that the other two boxes would be Media Mail as well. Since the lady was in such a rush to get me out of her face and work through the line of people, I never got an explanation of what I was being charged for prior to payment (yes it's partially my fault for not realizing that I was paying a first class rate). I was then shooed away before I got the receipt and had an opportunity to hand her the returned letter and the mail forwarding. I spoke up and got the receipt, and she said she would handle the postage on the letter. But she was already talking to the next customer at the point. It wasn't until I was back at home that I realized that I had unnecessarily paid an extra $40-50 to ship the boxes that should have been media mail. So while it is partially my fault for not noticing the charges and stopping her, I also don't feel like the attention to detail was great on the post office's end either. I would say to people to stand your ground and don't be shooed away, and double check the charges when mailing out of here! read more

Due to recent job change I've become quite a regular at the Post Office having to send out mail weekly! Every time I come in I'm never waiting more than 5 mins. The staff is always nice and friendly! They seem to appreciate each other as well which is always good to see at a business! The gentleman who runs the first counter usually is very fast and doesn't like to waste time! I love it! I've never had such a pleasant experience at any post office or even this one until today. The woman whom I can only assume was a manager (she was dressed in bison casual rather than a uniform) came out from the back and was pulling folks from an extremely long line to help at the self service kiosk. In between setting people up at the kiosk she was walking back to the line to move people along and shorten the wait times and she was picking up trash and smiling and greeting everyone. Dirtiest. Most unhelpful post office in Dallas. Seven years in Dallas with no lost packages l, 4 months and two gone.

Their machine were broken (adding an extra 3 oz to the total weight of the envelopes) so I had to go to the counter to pay to send my 2 envelopes. The lady at the counter was extremely rude and made me fill out a bunch of forms that were totally unnecessary. And when I was ready to send, she told me that I had to pay for certified mail to get a tracking nunber on my envelopes. The machine doesn't do that. Worse yet, she already took my two envelopes and I could not go to the machines to pay - being ripped off at the machines by being charged for an extra 3 oz per envelope is much less of a ripoff than being forced to pay for unnecessary certified mail. I ended up getting scammed an extra $7 in unnecessary certified mail fees thanks to the lazy and incompetent employees here. I hope the machines get fixed soon and even if they don't, you'll be much better off paying for an extra 3 ounces per item than getting ripped off by their unethical operations. read more

I've never been a fan of the post office. No really. I go to UPS every chance I can. But this week there was an exception to my rule when I had to send our 186 non profit post cards to our top donors and UPS wanted to up charge me for postage. So I put on my big girl pants and drove down to the post office. To my surprise there were two people in line (there's always a line) and one person working (no surprise). So I was pleasantly surprised this trip might not take as long as I expected! Then... I'm called up to the line and I tell the not so pleasant lady I need 200 stamps. When I say not so pleasant it's because I've already heard her snip at her boss twice while I was waiting since she didn't get a lunch break and is now in overtime. She walks away gets a binder tosses it in front of me and at the same time her boss comes back and says -- are you on the OT list? She rolls her eyes walks away from me to the back of the store but I can still see her and her boss while another coworker walks up and they all have a huge discussion over lunch breaks, OT, how she's been there since 7am and is pissed. She hangry. I'm left at the counter for 10 awkward minutes looking at a binder of stamps while they argue. At this point I wish I would have paid the up charge at UPS. Another woman comes out of no where opens a register two computers down and calls the customer behind me up to her booth. They totally forgot about me. Once she's done she says - did she help you? Nope! Customer service is in the pits y'all. I'm giving 2 stars since they had cute dog stamps to choose from. read more

Received a notice that my package was at the USPS post office, so I came here to retrieve it. First time, I didn't have my notice with me, but they tried to look for it anyway. After ~15-20min, they gave up and I left my information for a call once found. Second time (same day), I took my notice with me (thinking it will be helpful to pin point the location). Again, not to be found. I asked the supervisor, James Allen, whether I would be reimbursed for the seemingly lost package, and he got extremely aggressive. Anecdotes from the conversation: James Allen: "You can't come here again and again asking for us to look for your package. I will call you when I find it. You're very aggressive. You asked us to reimburse you. That's not how things work." Me: "I'm only asking a question. I don't know how your process works." James Allen: "I'm the nicest guy in the world. You're being very aggressive." Me: "Isn't that for other people to say who's nice?" Other employees jump in... ganging up against me. Excuse me, my customers can't hear me (Uhm, lady, I'm not the one yelling here.) Mail carrier hears the commotion, comes outside to talk to me and says he'll deliver it tomorrow Me: "Ok, you think I'll get the delivery tomo..." James Allen interrupts... Me: "One second, let me please finish..." James Allen "No. I'm the boss. He is a mail carrier. I see what you're trying to do there. Oldest trick in the book. You can't talk to him." Me: "Could I get your name please?" James Allen: "Here. You know what? You can have my badge! Take a picture of it." Me: "Uh... I didn't ask for that Just wanted your name" James Allen: "Well, now I did you one better. What do I have to say to make you leave? I'm going to go find your package, and you have to give me time to do that. You know everything over here is being recorded right? They have everything on you." Me (seriously hoping everything is recorded so when I escalate this, they can SEE the aggressive & unprofessional behavior): "Ok great! And what's the station #? Like CVS has a pharmacy #, what is yours" James Allen: "Oak Lawn station. You have my name. You know the station. You think I don't know what you want from me? I know what you want me to say!" Me: "And what is that?" James Allen: "You want me to say I'm sorry about your package. But I won't say it. I was professional!" ----- Apparently we now live in a world where a consumer / customer doesn't have the right to ask questions. All I wanted to know what if my package was lost, would I get reimbursement? And I was yelled at in front of a whole post office full of people. I can't say enough about how horrible my experiences are here. Every single time. Not even sure why I keep trying. I was yelled at for not having a single piece of tape on me that I needed and sent to the back of the 30 person line to go and purchase their version of tape. They then sent me back again to the end of the line for not taping the package correctly. I MEAN???? Is it enjoyable for them to absolutely torture people who literally just want to mail one package out? I also watched the staff be extremely rude to a sweet family who didn't speak English very well and didn't understand the situation with "the tape". You could literally show up with everything good and ready to go and they will find a reason to be ABSOLUTELY RUDE to you for no reason. Bad service!! I came here mail my online return and the package is pre paid . I am sure which box I should use. The company told me I should put into a Priority Mail packaging. So I put into a box and also put the label inside in case USPS do not allow me use the large box. I went to the store and I gave to the Post office work,she is an Africa America woman. She told me I can not use the large box. I said OK and I can just open it and I have the package inside. I have everything ready with the label you can mail it. This place is unbelievably awful. There's always a really long line to get to the ONE customer service person. There are 3 customer service stations so I have no idea what's up. Maybe she's their only employee? And on top of everything else, once you get through the line and standing in front of the rep, she is shockingly rude, really rude and snappy. I finally got to see why everyone hates the post office. I try to avoid it, but sometime you have no choice than to visit. I don't know how everything works at the post office, but paying my tax money to keep it open I would expect a small amount of helpfulness. and respect. I had to visit after getting an incomplete ticket in my mail box that the item didn't fit. ( the item did fit so visiting the post office was unnecessary ). I waited in line for a good 30 minutes as the one register open was arguing with another customer . Once I got up to her she refused to talk to me and yelled at me to go to the package pick up window. I had a question and she refused to answer it. Once I got to the window I had to wait another 10 minutes. The person working the window was friendly.
