The lady was very, very rude. Treated me like a dog. Made me wonder how she got the job. Worst experience ever.

Unfortunately, my experiences at this location have been consistently disappointing. The level of customer service is far below what the public should expect. Many of the employees I've encountered have been dismissive, rude, and seem uninterested in helping customers. There is often little sense of urgency, even when lines are long or people simply need routine postal services. The employees at this location receive excellent pay and benefits, and with that comes a responsibility to provide professional, respectful service to the community. Instead, it often feels as though doing the bare minimum has become the standard. Customers deserve to be treated with courtesy--not as though they're an inconvenience for asking someone to perform the job they're paid to do. The mail carriers have also been a major source of frustration. In my experience and neighbors, too, mail delivery has been inconsistent, and interactions with carriers have often been curt and unprofessional. Reliable mail service is essential, and residents should be able to depend on it. If you have the time, I strongly recommend going to the main post office at 433 W. Harrison St. instead. In my experience, the staff there are more professional, more efficient, and far more respectful. The extra drive is worth avoiding the frustration of this location. To the management of the Cottage Grove station: this office needs leadership, accountability, and a renewed commitment to customer service. The Bronzeville and Kenwood communities deserve a post office that reflects the hardworking people who live here. There is no reason this location cannot provide efficient, respectful, and dependable service. I sincerely hope management addresses these ongoing issues because the public deserves much better- Ms. P

I had the pleasure to meet Jessie Reed from USPS located at 433 W Harrison Chicago IL. He went out…read moreof his way to call me directly and made sure I was aware my mail was not being delivered due to the fact I had made an error on my address change. I was completely shocked that he would take the time to call me and reassure me that he was taking ALL my mail back to the post office so I could pick it up the next day. Sure enough I called him to just tell him I was at the post office to pick up my mail and he was more than happy to bring it down to my car, since it was a good amount of mail. What a gentleman, he was so nice and informative on what I should do to get my mail. I just want him to be acknowledged because I must be honest I had no faith in the postal service workers I had some bad experiences, but Mr. Reed changed that with his kindness. Again THANK YOU for your help and kindness especially at this time (Covid-19). We need more Postal people just like YOU! Sincerly, Mrs. Bez

Kari's Rating 2/10…read more -Takes forever to get anything done -Not enough employees -Man on the end is very nice and personable Plan to drop off a package within an hour. They never have enough people working and the only working man is honestly one of the sweetest employees I've ever met. He's very sweet but they need to hire 83 of him. Please hire more people at this location! It does get fairly busy after work and I went at 10:30am on a Thursday and there wasn't anyone behind the counter for 15 minutes as an associate was belong locate a package for a lady-which is so nice of him but where is everyone else?! Some people even left the line as it was so crowded and they only had a limited time frame to come here. It was that bad! I've come here before when I've had packages to just drop and I use the kiosk but this time I had to go up there personally. The man on the left always takes customer service the extra mile and makes conversation and makes the patron feel welcome, so I have no complaints about him, but they need to employ more employees to help this poor man! I can tell he loves his job and I bet there are other people out there that loves this role too, please find them! Haha

If someone would have told me that I would be visiting Post Office - Chicago Lawn Station I would…read morehave called them bluff because prior to visiting it, I had no interest in it. Furthermore, I visited it because the Elsdon Station was crowded with customers leaving me to seek out the nearest which happened to be Chicago Lawn Station. Your only option for parking at this location is street parking which mirrors Ashburn Station, but less the headache in comparison because it has a tad more openings within the area. One thing I took notice of after parking my car was the 7-Eleven next door which is always a plus in my book because I love me some 7-Eleven, hehe. It is just too bad that I likely will never visit this location again because of it being out of my way. As an avid eBay seller, I visit many post offices throughout the city enroute to my committed destinations, and the one thing I take notice of are the set ups. At this location, the inner set up seems spacious with the PO Boxes off to the right yet still in the main area surrounding the customer work station. Visiting any post office, I always expect to encounter some sort of line which can be the deciding factor if I stay or not. Best believe, if I encounter a long line, I am researching the nearest location or I will just return when I have the time. Of course there was a line at this location, but there were also three clerks behind the desk which were mostly dealing with passports. And speaking of passports, the passport hours go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Monday thru Friday. My overall experience at this location was better than over a half of the other reviewers experiences. I was treated none less than a customer which mirrors many of my other visits to other locations. Needless to say that I deal with them solely for shipping my eBay items and the only issues I could possibly have is that item not making it to its destination, which I rarely have. In closing, with my internship in the West Lawn area near over, I doubt I will return due to this location being out of my way, but it was great to drop in and experience yet another post office in the area. 1. Have a problem with ANY post office? Let your voice be heard. Call the Chicago District Office…read moreat 312-983-8403. 2. This place could be better. I'm here several times a week and there have been many times I have come to empty windows. I will wait anywhere from five to ten minutes before someone comes up to help. That being said, I feel like a lot of people who work for the post office don't mail anything out or use their online services. I have been battling to get my money back from two packages that were not delivered on time. One woman said I didn't drop them off at the post office. I have a receipt. I was told to go to the original post office I dropped them off. All post offices are the same. I was told that if I got the refund, what stops me from going to another post office and asking for the same refund? WHO HAS TIME FOR THIS??? With all of this back and forth, you would think it's their money they're refunding. It's crazy. I called the 800 number and the District Office. Both didn't understand why I wasn't getting my refund. For the most part, I'm in and out and if a package is lost, I just file a claim. But if you deal with Express anything, it will require nerves of steel and persistence to get what you paid for. I also want to shout out all the delivery folks to ring my bell to get in because our door key opener doesn't work. But, when my regular postman, Gregory isn't around, they either hold my items or say that items can't be delivered. It's crazy.
