If someone would have told me that I would be visiting Post Office - Chicago Lawn Station I would have called them bluff because prior to visiting it, I had no interest in it. Furthermore, I visited it because the Elsdon Station was crowded with customers leaving me to seek out the nearest which happened to be Chicago Lawn Station. Your only option for parking at this location is street parking which mirrors Ashburn Station, but less the headache in comparison because it has a tad more openings within the area. One thing I took notice of after parking my car was the 7-Eleven next door which is always a plus in my book because I love me some 7-Eleven, hehe. It is just too bad that I likely will never visit this location again because of it being out of my way. As an avid eBay seller, I visit many post offices throughout the city enroute to my committed destinations, and the one thing I take notice of are the set ups. At this location, the inner set up seems spacious with the PO Boxes off to the right yet still in the main area surrounding the customer work station. Visiting any post office, I always expect to encounter some sort of line which can be the deciding factor if I stay or not. Best believe, if I encounter a long line, I am researching the nearest location or I will just return when I have the time. Of course there was a line at this location, but there were also three clerks behind the desk which were mostly dealing with passports. And speaking of passports, the passport hours go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Monday thru Friday. My overall experience at this location was better than over a half of the other reviewers experiences. I was treated none less than a customer which mirrors many of my other visits to other locations. Needless to say that I deal with them solely for shipping my eBay items and the only issues I could possibly have is that item not making it to its destination, which I rarely have. In closing, with my internship in the West Lawn area near over, I doubt I will return due to this location being out of my way, but it was great to drop in and experience yet another post office in the area. I never thought I would be giving this P. O. 5 Stars, however, I have had very good luck the past few times I have stopped in here. I think my timing has just been good. I was walking past @4:00 PM this past Friday and I really thought there would be a line. There was one other customer already being tended to as another clerk called me over to his register. I was only getting stamps, so my transaction was not at all complicated and the clerk was pleasant. Another Yelp review mentioned the carriers that deliver the mail in this area. It is my understanding that they actually come out of another facility, the Southwest Carrier Annex. I have had problems with the mail being delivered to my house--I would frequently get a neighbor's mail or they would get mine, and there had been days when none of us received mail - - and it is hard to believe that none of us had mail on the same day! Mail delivery has improved dramatically since I signed up for "Informed Delivery *. I get an email each day that there is mail to be delivered with a scan of the envelopes. I have recommended this service to friends and they find it useful. I highly recommend signing up for it.

I don't mind receiving my mail or my families but when it comes to the delivery of mail I DON'T THINK THEY KNOW HOW TO READ AT ALL ITS ME MY 2 kids and boyfriend and I received other people mail that don't belong in my slot reminders I have my name amd my families name on it and they still can't read how literal isn't that what you went to school for I complained several times

I hate to write this review but I have too. I have been experiencing problems with my mailman for a few weeks so I thought I should inquire about a P.O. Box. I waited in line for 12 minutes, only 1 teller. By the time I was called there were 7 people behind me. Another teller took her time and opened another station. I informed her what I was interested in. She left and came back with a form and checked off what I needed to do. After scanning the form I still had 3 questions. U can tell she hates her life or her job. She said one of the worse customer service quotes ever..."like I said." Wooosaa!! After seeing how I was inconveniencing her I left without saying thank u. These people need life training forget customer service training. I have never gone to a post office where they are pleasant, compassionate. Maybe the uniform has toxins in that. I can never figure it out but they apparently do not care. I have gone paperless on my most important bills and do not send cards because I do not trust their service. Excellent paying job with good benefits but horrific service.

I had two post offices enroute, one in Gage Park and the other in Chicago Lawn, but visited this location in Ashburn because it sat closer to my destination. This is a typical post office location that mirrors many others as far as its items, layout and the clerks attitude, which I was treated none less than a customer by the clerk. In my opinion, the clerks give no more energy than what they need to because majority deal with irate customers regularly. I did not have that bad of a wait because I visited prior to the post office opening. And I believe I beat many of the workers there which arrived within 10 minutes of it opening. As an eBay seller I'm a regular at many locations around not just Chicago, but Chicagoland as well. The customer service I received at this location was no different than the others. And I was informed about any options that would benefit me as a customer. As far as parking you are only limited to 30 minute street parking unless you park inner neighborhood, which is further from the post office. With that I do recommend choosing wisely when you visit because you may be limited on parking in the evening. But if all fails you do have the option to visit the Chicago Lawn location which is no less than 2 miles away. Meanwhile, me returning depends on the time of the week I have an eBay sell and where I will be. Outside of my neighborhood alone, I do have committed places like work, school and a internship site I have to be throughout the week. And lucky me they all vary in location, so I encounter different personalities at post offices but all treat me none less than a customer. Thomas G

It's just really hard to focus on them when you haven't received mail in over 3 weeks. I am not talking about junk mail or magazines. I'm talking about tax documents, refund checks, medication and packages. Employees have received my tracking numbers on 3 different occasions. They have told me that the packages are in the office but they can't get to them because of all of the mail piling up blocking access. So it's a long, unfortunate 'waiting game'. I requested information on PO Boxes and was told that all mail, no matter where it goes must first be sorted by USPS and that because of Covid and excessive absenteeism, there is NO ONE available to do this. They also stated that they can't really keep employees. Stood in line for 3 hours and 44 minutes only to leave with a bunch of excuses and NO mail. I pray that this issue that has recently been in the news is resolved sooner than later and that it benefits everyone consistently.

That's fine but supposed what about customers who only have cash only that day? I guess not service.
