If someone would have told me that I would be visiting Post Office - Chicago Lawn Station I would have called them bluff because prior to visiting it, I had no interest in it. Furthermore, I visited it because the Elsdon Station was crowded with customers leaving me to seek out the nearest which happened to be Chicago Lawn Station. Your only option for parking at this location is street parking which mirrors Ashburn Station, but less the headache in comparison because it has a tad more openings within the area. One thing I took notice of after parking my car was the 7-Eleven next door which is always a plus in my book because I love me some 7-Eleven, hehe. It is just too bad that I likely will never visit this location again because of it being out of my way. As an avid eBay seller, I visit many post offices throughout the city enroute to my committed destinations, and the one thing I take notice of are the set ups. At this location, the inner set up seems spacious with the PO Boxes off to the right yet still in the main area surrounding the customer work station. Visiting any post office, I always expect to encounter some sort of line which can be the deciding factor if I stay or not. Best believe, if I encounter a long line, I am researching the nearest location or I will just return when I have the time. Of course there was a line at this location, but there were also three clerks behind the desk which were mostly dealing with passports. And speaking of passports, the passport hours go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Monday thru Friday. My overall experience at this location was better than over a half of the other reviewers experiences. I was treated none less than a customer which mirrors many of my other visits to other locations. Needless to say that I deal with them solely for shipping my eBay items and the only issues I could possibly have is that item not making it to its destination, which I rarely have. In closing, with my internship in the West Lawn area near over, I doubt I will return due to this location being out of my way, but it was great to drop in and experience yet another post office in the area. Posted by Lorena Paredas: The employees from the post office on 60th and kedzie are very rude and unprofessional, stay away from that location. Everytime I go I have a bad experience. My husband was renewing his passport and I guided him since I was just there Monday. I told him exactly what to do so he wouldn't get an attitude from their employees, just preparing him for the mail Nazis. He filled out his form, had his pictures, and filled out the envelope. He took it to the front to make sure everything was in order and the lady just told him he had to put it in that she wasn't suppose to touch it or look at it, with an attitude! How about making an attempt and provide good customer service!!?? When we are clueless and have no idea, all we need is reassurance that we are doing it correctly. She couldn't even provide him with that! It's so upsetting and not to mention what I had to go through, since I was lost. It's like you figure it out on your own! Especially a lady named Nicole, if they don't like their job they shouldn't work there. People should be friendly and provide good customer service! If you're not a people person you should not be working at the post office!! I'm so tired of them I just want to report their bad service My mailmen and women are so nice and friendly, wish they were too. Stay away people! read more

USPS - Complaint - Post Offices Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I never thought I would be giving this P. O. 5 Stars, however, I have had very good luck the past few times I have stopped in here. I think my timing has just been good. I was walking past @4:00 PM this past Friday and I really thought there would be a line. There was one other customer already being tended to as another clerk called me over to his register. I was only getting stamps, so my transaction was not at all complicated and the clerk was pleasant. Another Yelp review mentioned the carriers that deliver the mail in this area. It is my understanding that they actually come out of another facility, the Southwest Carrier Annex. I have had problems with the mail being delivered to my house--I would frequently get a neighbor's mail or they would get mine, and there had been days when none of us received mail - - and it is hard to believe that none of us had mail on the same day! Mail delivery has improved dramatically since I signed up for "Informed Delivery *. I get an email each day that there is mail to be delivered with a scan of the envelopes. I have recommended this service to friends and they find it useful. I highly recommend signing up for it. read more

I hate to write this review but I have too. I have been experiencing problems with my mailman for a few weeks so I thought I should inquire about a P.O. Box. I waited in line for 12 minutes, only 1 teller. By the time I was called there were 7 people behind me. Another teller took her time and opened another station. I informed her what I was interested in. She left and came back with a form and checked off what I needed to do. After scanning the form I still had 3 questions. U can tell she hates her life or her job. She said one of the worse customer service quotes ever..."like I said." Wooosaa!! After seeing how I was inconveniencing her I left without saying thank u. These people need life training forget customer service training. I have never gone to a post office where they are pleasant, compassionate. Maybe the uniform has toxins in that. I can never figure it out but they apparently do not care. I have gone paperless on my most important bills and do not send cards because I do not trust their service. Excellent paying job with good benefits but horrific service. read more

The employees are verbally rude to you. They are racists pigs because they see you hispanic/latino they expect for you not to speak up and defend yourself. There was a customer who was picking up and was only instructed to bring in his ID and the completed redelivery PS Form 3849 form and they neglected him his package. They can't even instruct customer beforehand to bring the qualifying items for pickup. Beware of these racists employees! People need to speak up and report them. If they don't like their job or aren't happy about it, DO NOT WORK in customer service. Remember we as a community who support the USPS so we are the ones who pay for their services and provide them with work and pay their checks. read more

Couldn't believe that a place could deserve 1 star. In fact, it deserves zero. I'm sure everyone been here knows Nancy. She was awfully rude. Left me hanging after I handed her the paperwork I wanted taken care of. She walked out, started talking with a boring nasty laugh cause she refused to see what I brought, and said "I'll take care of it as soon as you have everything you need." I asked for her name when she came back, and told me her supervisor was right behind me. I walked to the supervisor, told her I thought Nancy was terrible, and all she wanted to do was direct me to fill out a survey. I don't think this is a legitimate post office. I imagine this place is just an excuse for black people to get back at the whiteys, and call it "government official work." They are the worst customer service representatives I have ever done business with in 12 years. read more

USPS - This is Nancy. - Post Offices Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Wow! Its really disheartening that a PUBLIC SERVICE would have these types of rude employees working there. Nancy was EXTREMELY rude over a package that I had to ship from Mercari. After she denied my package because the "Ship date wasn't until late that week" even though other USPS still take the packages before the ship date. It's even more of a hassle because Mercari does not change ship dates but expects us to ship within 3 business days. She continued to belittle me when I asked what is it that I could do to mail it out today. I just wanted to send the message to her and all her other rude coworkers, do your job better or I will personally stand outside USPS every single day this summer and make sure I get enough signatures from people walking in who are tired of the disrespect and will personally send the petition to the alderman and everyone else I need to get it to. You are doing a PUBLIC SERVICE, lets act like it! read more

Today I experienced deplorable Customer Service at the hand of a clerk named Nancy. I visited the office with the intention of verifying my identification for the PO Box I purchased on line for my 501(c)3 and to send several letters certified mail. When I got to her desk I asked her what I needed to send something certified, she rudely mumbled what I needed, I then asked her what was the most cost effective method. She mumbled the answer, I was fine with that, and everyone has a bad day from time to time. I went home and printed what I thought was the proper paper work and promptly returned. When I got there and it was my turn I shared with her once more what I was looking to do and as I was about to ask a question, to my sincere surprise, she very rudely snarled, "I need you to be ready." The fact that the envelope wasn't sealed was what prompted this angry response. I was shocked. She then told me that I should not have come to her window with my ID in my wallet and once again snarled that she needed my ID. I told her that I am happy to provide her with what she needed. She then began to attempt to argue with me about me having the incorrect form to process my PO Box Verification. I promptly switched gears and told her that I needed letters mailed and asked her for a book of stamps. She processed my request with (what I perceived as) anger, when the transaction was completed I selected an email receipt. Clearly Nancy was frustrated with my selection because she canceled my request on her end and printed a receipt instead. I shared with her that I needed an email receipt for business purposes to which she responded with an incoherent mumble. I left feeling completely disgusted with her behavior and dreading the fact that I needed to return in order to complete my business transaction. She was so incredibly rude and disrespectful that it caused me to doubt her competency and frankly I was fed up. I came back in 30 minutes with the required documentation and correct form. I had my Driver's License and a copy of my car insurance policy. As I walked up to her window I attempted to ask her a question about who is able to collect from the PO Box and if I can ask them later. She cut me off and demanded that I sign my form first. Her words were, "You need to take care of your business first before I can answer any questions." I hadn't signed my form because my question hadn't been answered. I told her that I was happy to sign and did, Nancy verified my documents. I bought what was request on the USPS website. She then refused to provide me with a PO Box stating that she needed something from my non-profit to prove that it was legitimate. Absolutely NO WHERE on the sheet I printed or on the USPS.com website does it say that. I then asked her exactly where it read that on the form. Nancy's response was that it was their policy. I then asked her "What exactly do you need then?" She had no specific response. I then asked "Soooo do I need my Articles of Incorporation, my Federal Tax Exemption, etc." Nancy said "Yes bring one of those." I then understood that I was not being attended by someone that was competent. Her bizarre and extreme behavior led me to contact a Post Master friend of mine to verify what her claim, the Post Master confirmed with me that I had the proper information. I then walked back into the Post Office and spoke with another clerk on duty, I shared my concern and she stated, "You were working with her (referencing Nancy)," to which I responded "Yes." I then shared the first and last name of the Post Master I had telephoned just moments before and made one last plea for assistance. The clerk shrugged her shoulders and said, "That's what we are taught to do here." I firmly believe Nancy's actions to be disrespectful, completely bizarre, and malicious. I've been to this location a couple times, and on both occasions I've received terrible customer service from Nancy and had seek assistance from two other employees who were very well mannered. I'm very disgusted with the post office for having an employee like Nancy working for them. She doesn't communicate properly, is rude (rolls her eyes) and very disrespectful. Nancy wasn't helpful at all. I feel that she has tampered with my mail because after I voiced my opinions of her terrible attitude and horrible towards treatments towards me she took an extended period of time just to let me know she wasn't able to find my court documents that were mailed to be through certified mail. On the first occasion she was also terrible and wasn't helpful. It's terrible to now that federal officials would hires garbage like this. I hope Nancy gets disciplinary action immediately. I normally visit the USPS office on archer but was in the area and decided to stop here. WRONG CHOICE!!!! I received terrible customer service by an employee named LAJUANA. She explained to me that my packages were not packed in the correct priority mail wingboxes. I then explained to her that I never had this brought up to my attention at the location I usually drop my items at. I grabbed my items and said I would just go there and she started talking over me! once again the lazy and RACIST USPS cashier NANCY is at it. I go in to get a package. Wait in line. A black female that WASNT in line goes to the counter for a form. Ok. She walks away, I approach the counter with ticket to get my package. Nancy REFUSES TO SERVE ME (Im white and have and will continue to file complaints on this employee until she is moved, terminated or criminally charged!) She is doing nothing. No computer work, not sorting mail or packages nothing and directs me to the other worker who was helpful pleasant and got my packages. Nancy then starts making off hand comments to which my response was "save it for the inspector general investigator, I will NOT back off you until you are gone" And I left. Nancy needs to be REMOVED from this post office and have disciplinary actions taken for her less than poor and racist attitude. read more

I was hesitant to call this post office based on the reviews here, but I spoke with a Ms. Davis and I have nothing but great things to say about her! For one, the reason for my call was 100% my mistake, I put in the wrong zip code and was tracking down not ONE but THREE packages, she was very helpful, took down each tracking number and gave me detailed tracking information, where it was headed to next, how it worked, what time I should expect it, and she was pleasant the whole time... I mean this was superb customer service (and I am a State employee, I know what kind of customer service can be delivered out there lol) I will gladly continue to call this post office if I get to speak with Ms. Davis again, thank you for all your help Ms. D! Absolutely the most rudist people Ive EVER encountered. They all seem like they hate their lives and jobs and therefore make any customer miserable as well. Went in to explain what I was trying to figure out about my package. Before I was even able to explain, she cut me off about 5 times screaming do you have your tracking number, after I gave up trying to explain what I needed to know. I said yes and she said put that number in on our website and it'll tell you what you need to know. I was blown away on not only that answer but the attitude. I went back that same day as online DID NOT give me the answer I needed. I got a new person who was even ruder, after telling her that my package was there, if I could pick it up before it gets shipped tomorrow and she said NO. Absolutely didnt try to look it up or even find it in the system. Im switching to FEDEX every shipping opportunity I have. The absolute worst customer service ever.
