He went out…read moreof his way to call me directly and made sure I was aware my mail was not being delivered due to the fact I had made an error on my address change. I was completely shocked that he would take the time to call me and reassure me that he was taking ALL my mail back to the post office so I could pick it up the next day. Sure enough I called him to just tell him I was at the post office to pick up my mail and he was more than happy to bring it down to my car, since it was a good amount of mail. What a gentleman, he was so nice and informative on what I should do to get my mail. I just want him to be acknowledged because I must be honest I had no faith in the postal service workers I had some bad experiences, but Mr. Reed changed that with his kindness. Again THANK YOU for your help and kindness especially at this time (Covid-19). We need more Postal people just like YOU! Sincerly, Mrs. Bez

They never have enough people working and the only working man is honestly one of the sweetest employees I've ever met. He's very sweet but they need to hire 83 of him. Please hire more people at this location! It does get fairly busy after work and I went at 10:30am on a Thursday and there wasn't anyone behind the counter for 15 minutes as an associate was belong locate a package for a lady-which is so nice of him but where is everyone else?! Some people even left the line as it was so crowded and they only had a limited time frame to come here. It was that bad! I've come here before when I've had packages to just drop and I use the kiosk but this time I had to go up there personally. The man on the left always takes customer service the extra mile and makes conversation and makes the patron feel welcome, so I have no complaints about him, but they need to employ more employees to help this poor man! I can tell he loves his job and I bet there are other people out there that loves this role too, please find them! Haha

You get those slips instead and requesting redelivery when you're home is ignored. So during busy shipping times (holidays, etc.) expect to come here and wait in line forever. Some of the employees are more cordial than others. I had both good and poor experiences and you can tell they are all under a ton of stress. One thing I can say is getting upset with them won't help you at all. In this case you have to adopt some kind of zen mind practice because otherwise you'll wind up having a stroke and still nothing will change here.

That vestibule has a (working) call box as well. Oh, and... we checked the cameras and there wasn't a single USPS worker seen that entire day. But, you were looking forward to getting your holiday weekend started, right? So, just lie and pretend you came by and attempted delivery but "didn't have access". We've seen this before. It's a wonder how your location is still open. Shady ass business practices time and time again. You're terrible. Liars.

Unfortunately, my experiences at this location have been consistently disappointing. The level of customer service is far below what the public should expect. Many of the employees I've encountered have been dismissive, rude, and seem uninterested in helping customers. There is often little sense of urgency, even when lines are long or people simply need routine postal services. The employees at this location receive excellent pay and benefits, and with that comes a responsibility to provide professional, respectful service to the community. Instead, it often feels as though doing the bare minimum has become the standard. Customers deserve to be treated with courtesy--not as though they're an inconvenience for asking someone to perform the job they're paid to do. The mail carriers have also been a major source of frustration. In my experience and neighbors, too, mail delivery has been inconsistent, and interactions with carriers have often been curt and unprofessional. Reliable mail service is essential, and residents should be able to depend on it. If you have the time, I strongly recommend going to the main post office at 433 W. Harrison St. instead. In my experience, the staff there are more professional, more efficient, and far more respectful. The extra drive is worth avoiding the frustration of this location. To the management of the Cottage Grove station: this office needs leadership, accountability, and a renewed commitment to customer service. The Bronzeville and Kenwood communities deserve a post office that reflects the hardworking people who live here. There is no reason this location cannot provide efficient, respectful, and dependable service. I sincerely hope management addresses these ongoing issues because the public deserves much better- Ms. P
