Wedding invitations laid out in bin provided by the USPS workers! - A large white box contains multiple stacks of blank United States Postal Service envelopes, some with printed stamps. The envelopes are arranged in an orderly manner on a blue surface, likely at a postal facility or mailing station, prepared for mailing or distribution.

My mom and I went here to mail out my wedding invitations and we couldn't be more pleased with the service, truly. The two USPS staff members at the front desk on Thursday 7/3/25 at ~3:30pm (I regret not getting their names) were truly phenomenal and provided such great customer service. They answered our questions with ease and made us feel very reassured about the mailing status of the invites. We are very thankful for their efficient and professional help, and would highly recommend this post office for others!

Lies! I didn't request this. This package should have never been sent to this facility in the first place!

Horrible Management at this facility and non-customer service! -I was notified that an Amazon package that I had shipped to my address was being held at the 433 W. Harrison, Chicago, IL 60699 main post office (due to a customer request which I never gave). I went there to retrieve the package on 6/29/20. Stood in a long line, only 3 workers working in customer service. When I finally get to the front of the line, I explain that I'm there to pick up a package. The associate (African American, short bob haircut) tells me she doesn't know why Amazon sends people here and proceeds to give me a phone number to call to retrieve my package. The number was incorrect as the person on the phone told me that I need to get a different number from the associate. I had to ask the associate again for another number. The associate was like "I don't know why she just didn't give you the number" and looks on a sheet to give me a different number. The number she gives me this time, the phone just rings. I ask to speak to a supervisor, she told me no supervisor was there. The associate questioned me as to why I didn't pick up my package sooner - what difference does that make and why would you ask me such a question? I called back the original representative who gave me a couple of other numbers to try and no one was picking up. I was there, my package was there but it was a wasted trip because no one was available to get my tracking number to give me my package. Left empty handed. Some of the worst customer service of a building establishment I've ever experienced. 30 minutes of nothing but wasted time! There needs to be different methods at this facility of simply picking up a package.

** PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IN FULL ** Americans should appreciate the United States Postal Service ("USPS"). I see so many people write disrespectful reviews and go into locations with disdain and it is ugly and not fair. There is a disparaging name used called snail mail but that's wack too. Where else can someone send something from LA to NY for $0.50 and it makes it there, door to door in five business day or less? You think about it, I'll wait ... The USPS doesn't use a dime of taxpayer money for its operations (by law it earns its revenue) and provides Americans and their businesses with the industrial world's most affordable delivery network. The USPS delivers to 155 million addresses six and even seven days a week, delivering more than 49 percent of the world's mail. Yes, the WORLD!!!! The USPS is the core of the $1.4 trillion national mailing industry, which employs 7 million Americans in the private sector. They fuel all that stuff you buy from Amazon Prime. Ever heard that old adage, you get back what you put out? Listen, to those going to any post office, you get what you give. How would you feel if you had to deal with hundreds of people that were irritable and rushing; coughing on you; wanting you to perform magic while they were on the dang phone; that wanted everything now, now; wanted free supplies (tape, envelopes); and didn't know how to fill out simple forms all while being rude? Our USPS and its employees are working hard for us every day! Little fun fact did you know that even if you go to the Brown service (UPS) or FedEx that 75% of their packages still get processed by, you guessed it, the USPS! So you pay them 20-30% more because of fees the USPS charges them -when you could just go straight to the source. The mail is still the most affordable way to get something from coast-to-coast and in my experience, delivery errors are very very rare. I'm from a much smaller city, so I was shocked to see that this post office was open and taking packages until midnight. In most other cities, everything is closed at 5/5:30pm. This is such a luxury and convenience but it's probably not fully appreciated (most people don't appreciate what is fully available to them b/c its always there). At this location, there is plenty of free underground parking. On my first visit, I just followed a fellow patron to the elevator and ended up where I needed to be ... the second floor, so warm and it smelled nice. This location is huge and lovely visually. Ms. Gloria was nice - service was quick & easy - she even made sure that I took my receipt with me and circled my tracking number; now that's customer service! Man, these folks here are working hard for the people! Another tip, a great way to get good service ANYWHERE before you start pushing packages and papers is to ask the person "how they're doing", treat them like a person FIRST and I'm sure your service will be much smoother. More importantly, someone that's been beaten up by others all day could actually smile from having an encounter with you - go the extra mile for you even, the one person that cared enough. The USPS is a national treasure. I support this location and all others - you should too! Thank you for reading this in full.

She says "no, walk around"... so I do, and then she shouts "next!", and I then walk to the counter. I state I am here to purchase some stamps. Her response is "cant you read the sign, we dont sell stamps here". Next to her is a piece of paper written in sharpie that says "no stamps". I say oh no! Where can i get some stamps? Her response is "go somewhere else, theres a store on sheffield but theyre closed today". So I asked where I could buy some stamps, to which she replied "not my problem. Next!" As a customer had arrived with a return. As she told this customer she cant ship the package because they have the wrong box, I stood to the side googling where else I could buy stamps. I left after a couple minutes, and did not see the woman working the counter meaningfully contribute to society while I was there. I appreciate that usps allows people like this to remain employed somewhere, but as other reviews show, this is a consistent issue that has been present for years and will likely not be addressed. Do not come here, I'd expect this location to be closed in the near future due to lack of care by its staff and the company that "supports" its staff.

Do you know why I got myself a PO box? Mail theft at my apartment is rampant. If you order a…read morepackage, expect it to get stolen. One time I ordered something for same-day delivery, and even though I got there, an hour and a half after it was delivered, that package was already gone. Yikes. Hence, I thought I'll them shipped to a government building where it should be pretty safe. Now, I do want to mention, Amazon *can* deliver to a Locker or a Whole Foods, but not everything. Further, anything sent to me my non-Amazon can't go in a locker or Whole Foods. Now, while items delivered to the PO box would be held in relative safety, me getting it is another story. At the start, I found that packages weren't getting to me, with the clerk telling me that if there's no yellow slip in the PO box, then it hasn't been processed yet. Turns out, no. When the PO box was rented, cardboard was not removed from the back of it, which apparently signified that that said PO box was unoccupied. After lots of frustration, we finally figured out that, "oh, wait a minute, that cardboard shouldn't be there!" Okay, well now we removed it. I think it should be on the up and up from here, right? Not really. Not too long ago, I had a package that was shown as delivered and I came two days and some hours later to pick it up. I look in my PO box, and there's nothing. No package, no yellow slip, nada. I go to the clerk who tells me that after it arrives in the building, it takes two to three days to get processed. Really? After mail is delivered to the post office, it has to take an additional couple of days to get sub-delivered to the very same post office? Sure, it's a big building, but that doesn't make sense. Two more things about this location that have me pulling my fair out: 1. While to be fair, during my visits it wasn't super busy, there's usually only one or two people working behind the counter. 2. This post office allegedly has their street addressing service. That means that your PO box comes with a real street address you can use in additional to the standard "PO Box 1234 Chicago, Illinois." However, all but one of the staff seemed to have no idea what I'm talking about and what that address would be, even though I later saw it on a poster in the PO box area. Finally, if there is one area where I want to give them some points, it's that their hours are truly fantastic. They are open seven days a week, and on working days until midnight. This is perfect for me to be able to pick up my PO box items after work, even if I have to work a little bit late or if I need to mail something on a Sunday. Oh yes, and I almost forgot. The US Postal Service is kind of like Google... you can't really avoid it, unless you're going to send Christmas cards by FedEx. Just so, whether it's personally or where my job touches postal matters, it seems severe delays are as rampant as theft at my building.
