From the moment I walked in, the level of kindness and patience from the staff was noticeable. All three attendants were great, but Randall especially left a lasting impression. He treated every single customer with genuine care, taking his time and never making anyone feel rushed--even when there were clear language barriers. At one point, an Asian woman was trying to schedule a passport appointment and was struggling to understand the process. Randall didn't brush her off or rush through it--he patiently worked with her, doing everything he could to make sure she understood. I also saw him switch to Spanish to help other customers who weren't fluent in English. That kind of effort and compassion is rare, and it truly matters. The woman at the middle desk was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the gentleman at the end, with glasses, handled a busy line and an overflow of packages with efficiency and professionalism. It's easy to expect basic service, but it's not every day you experience genuine humanity like this. Today reminded me that kindness still exists in everyday places--and it makes all the difference. This was, without a doubt, the best experience I've ever had at a post office. Maybe this review is too deep. Maybe not. I think too many times we hear about the negative experiences and not enough times are we recognizing the good in the world. I have had plenty of problems with the Carrollton US Post Office on Josey Lane over the years. But let me warn you about another way for them to pull the rug out from under you. We've used medium sized Priority Mail boxes for years because we could depend on the fixed price for shipping the box, regardless of the weight. Sure, the rate goes up nearly every year. You can depend on that, too, but the current fixed rate is $21.95 with delivery in 2 to 3 days (or maybe 3 weeks since they sometimes miss the target). We picked up a few boxes, from the lobby, at the same place the post office staff makes them available. We did the addressing, filled it up and asked a friend to take it to the clerk and pay the $21.95 postage. To our surprise, the cost was $34.25 because we used the wrong medium size priority mail box. Did you know there are 2 slightly different medium size priority mail boxes that you could use? I kid you not. It could cost you an additional $12 to send it if you pick up the wrong one. We've never seen the wrong box before. Make sure the box you select has small red lettering that says "FIXED RATE" for the lower $21.95 rate. If it says "MAILING BOX" instead, you'll probably pay more, like we did ($34.25). I can't say for sure that the postal employees intentionally switched the boxes on us customers but the 2 options definitely look too much alike. We won't get fooled again. read more

The staff is extremely rude and they do the bare minimum to run their office. I pay over $120 a month for a PO box that NEVER gets my packages. When i have a slip to pick up small packages that can easily fit, they make me wait in the longest line instead of having somebody help at the pick up window. AND, The packages are always in the back, yet certain employees Dont want to look for it and say "its not here"Then i come back the next day for a different worker to actually find it and it almost was sent back. Usually the post office is an experience we don't look forward to, but I wanted to take the time to thank the individual working in the package delivery and return area today. I had a package delivered last month that I wasn't able to sign for, and had scheduled for redelivery but due to a glitch it didn't work and my package seemed lost. I tried calling USPS but had no luck getting through or finding my package. I finally made the decision to go to USPS in person to see if it was still there or if they could help me find it. I had been having a bad day, but the woman in the package delivery area who helped me was genuine and kind and had amazing customer service skills. I didn't have my slip anymore and I thought it would be a problem but she assured me it wasn't an issue at all, got everything put in, and found my package in a timely manner. A pleasant experience at the post office may seem like an odd reason to warrant a 5 star review, but in an environment where people tend to be stressed, annoyed, and apathetic, those who exude positivity and care truly stand out. The post office may not known for their customer service skills, but her positive attitude and dedication to help even though I wasn't prepared myself really helped brighten my day. The service is supposed to open at 8:30 am. As they opened the door for the counter only one person was attempting to sign into their computer at start time. Then another came out and disappeared in the back while another was rushing around trying to look busy. This is why FedEx and UPS are so much more efficient to use. I have called this place 20 times, I never got an answer. I have a package that has "pending acceptance" for 11 days. I just wanted to ask what the hell was going on or if I have to go pick up myself. Its sad if it gets to that point. To top that off they couldn't even deliver one of my package from 2 weeks ago. They delivered it to the wrong place and I had to put a service request. Then after that it took about 2 days for them to "investigate". They still ended up just returning it to the sender. This has to be the most inefficient post office that I have ever been to. Geez...where do I start? I went in to pick up a package one day and so I went over to the package pickup door, rang the bell, stood there for several minutes and no one ever answered. I rang it again, waited again patiently - still no one. I decided to just go stand in line and speak with an employee. When I asked them about the pickup door, the employee stated that they are not using that any longer and I should just wait in line from now on. I said "That's fine, but why didn't anyone tell me that when I was ringing the doorbell? I was just left standing there like an idiot. You should, at the very least, put up a sign so that customers know and don't stand there and get frustrated. " The employee responded "We cannot put up a sign." "Why wouldn't you put up a sign?", I asked. Again, the employee retorted "We can't put up a sign." "How are customers supposed to know where to go, then?", I asked. "I will tell them" he said. "You didn't tell me" I said. "Nor did you tell the lady that walked up after me." He simply responded again "We can't put up a sign." I get the sense that the employees here couldn't care less. Sabrina was so helpful, kind and cheerful! She thanked everyone for their patience and the line moved very reasonably. Several patrons were purchasing stamps before the price increases in a few days, which takes time. She also gave each of my kids a sticker and a pencil...so sweet! I really appreciate that this post office is taking measures to slow the spread of COVID and limiting the amount of people in there at one time. Apparently there's loads of dumba$$es that can't comprehend why they're asking us not to crowd together in the middle of a plague, but these employees have been all class in dealing with tremendously rude and idiotic customers. I don't know where they find the patience. Also I appreciate the help form the lead clerk in going above and beyond to help me get what I needed to send an important package out.
