Literally the worst mail service I have ever experienced. Only get a portion of my mail most of the time. They like to change my delivery to pickup without asking. They say things are too big to put in my mailbox and won't deliver but will deliver something else to my garage door. Other times they say my front door or driveway is unaccessible and refuse to deliver when nothing about my front door or driveway has changed. What the heck is going on?! read more

The worst service ever. Their new thing is to specify "the customer requested pick up at the Post Office" when we made no such request. Then they don't have to deliver the package! This has happened multiple times and we have never requested pick up at the Post Office. read more

These people here are thieves and liars. A package with my sister's shoes that were supposed to be returned back to Nike magically disappeared. The lady behind the counter tried to blame it being lost on the post office in an entirely different state. When asked to speak to the postmaster, the lady at the desk gave her a nasty attitude. After finally being able to speak with the postmaster, she lied right to her face and when asked to file a complaint she was told that she couldn't file one there. I feel like everyone employed at this establishment should have to go back and get retrained in customer service and even get some diversity training as well. One day I showed up with a small package to mail, and when I walked in to the Carbondale Post Office, 2 people were at a rack of greeting cards and no one was behind the counter. There was no line and no one greeted me, so I walked up to the counter and rang the bell. When I did that, one of the people at the card rack became very annoyed and said "I'm right here", or something to that effect. She was not wearing a uniform, a name badge, or any discernable sign she worked there. As I was leaving, after she had taken my package to mail, she said to the next customer in line, "She rang the bell for THAT?" I stopped in the doorway, and said, "I couldn't tell that you worked here." She didn't respond. The incredible rudeness and lack of professionalism floored me. read more

Beyond upset. My daughter was expecting her dress to be delivered today sat oct 19. The package settled at the post office in Carbondale on Oct 17th and the online tool shows that instead they shipped it to Nebraska instead of putting it out for delivery. The level of incompetency is ridiculous. I can't believe people can't read a simple label. Thank you. Carbondale post office for ruining my daughters homecoming dance. This is why I never use usps sadly UPS transferred the delivery of this to them who knows why. I hate them. I hate USPS. You guys really suck. read more

I understand that they are probably short staffed at the office and with route drivers. However there are better ways to handle lack of employees. We have received zero packages to our home in over a week. When I go online to track our packages it states that they are available for pick up. Which is odd as usually they get delivered straight to the house. Ok fine, I go to the post office to pick up my packages. No big deal. But when I get there the lady behind the counter is extremely rude while I am nothing but kind to her. She barely gives me the time of day and basically tells me that she doesn't have time to look for my packages. She suggests that they are probably out for delivery again. I asked her why they would go out for delivery again when their online tracking states that they are available for pick up? Keep them at the post office so I can pick them up! Wouldn't that just be easier for them too? So now I'm chasing 5 packages around one of which includes a prescription medication. I go home empty handed to wait for them to be delivered, days later and still no packages delivered to my house.... Hell even though I have a residential mailbox maybe I'll get a PO at the Basalt location just so I never have to deal with the Carbondale location again! I understand that covid has posed problems for organizations of all kinds, but Carbondale's postal service seems to use covid as an excuse for falsifying delivery updates. On more than three occasions, package statuses were inaccurate and delivered late due to general mismanagement. When the Post office manager was asked why these errors were occurring, they simply shrugged and said, "Our workers take unannounced lunch breaks." read more

I talk to the new manager-2x,2/24/22 2/25/22, and an employee on 2/23. Box key was in my regular mailbox indicating an item in the large package box. Was expecting 2 large packages from USPS & FED-EX(THEY SAY THEY DON'T HANDLE FED EX) and possibly from a Prescription company, EXPRESS SCRIPTS. I couldn't use the pkg box key as it wouldn't open after many tries. Thus I didn't know if the packages from USPS & FED EX had been delivered or not. I took the package box key to the PO (CARBONDALE, CO) and told them the issue and would they get me the contents. The clerk(no name tag) said he would contact the new Post Master and discuss with him my issue. I asked for a call and gave him my phone #, Heard nothing, and went to the PO on 2/24/22 to discuss. The new manager came and discussed with me the issue and he said he would visit the 45 personal mailboxes that day. Nothing was heard from him and visually noted nothing was obviously accomplished later that day. The next day,2/25 I returned to the PO. The manager was out shoveling snow, so we conversed outside. I asked for an update and he informed me that he opened the package box and removed a prescription package from the package box and put it in my normal mail box (#16) with a white note. I immediately went to my mailbox and found nothing, also nothing in the package box. Very upsetting, returned told a clerk I wanted to visit with the Manager. Was informed that he was not there, I asked if the manager had a cell phone, the clerk said something I didn't understand. the clerk walked away from me to wait on another customer that had come in as we were having a discussion. When he finished with that customer he invited another customer to the counter. I excused myself to the next customer and stated to the arrogant clerk that I had more information to relate to him. His reply was that we were not having a conversation, I was harassing him. No, I said that I had PO business and had talked to the manager just a few minutes previously. I returned to the box the manager described that he had opened and moved the prescription package to my regular mail box. I found that the package box was empty and there was nothing of the prescription package nor a note in my mailbox. That is why I again returned to the PO and met the unnamed Clerk. He stated that we were not having a discussion. He then started yelling at me, I told him I didn't understand a word. Not sure he spoke English. He repeated in English that he was calling the police. "For what, I asked?" He stated that I was harassing him and that is not legal. I then left the PO. On the way out another customer said I should just disappear as he had a recent similar event. read more

I have had multiple problems with mail delivery in Carbondale. The carrier was not picking up out-going mail from the box at our complex, causing bank deposits to be delayed by 6 weeks. It took me a while to figure out why it took so long to get from Carbondale to Glenwood! I asked for mail forwarding when I sold my business, but even after talking to the P O Manager in person, I have yet to have one piece of mail forwarded (8 months). My Granddaughter's birthday card went missing, when I couldn't be with her during the shutdown. Package delivery does not go to the door. Now I am needing my home mail to be forwarded, and it is not happening. The clerks are often rude or indifferent at the counter. I am glad to have moved away. I had no issues with USPS delivery people or counter staff until a month ago when I was treated rudely by a woman at the counter for merely asking a question with a smile on my face. Found out after a call from my delivery driver that she had told him a lie about my behavior. Since then, I receive letters, magazines and some packages in my mail box or our neighborhood's package box. But on the same day five envelopes and a magazine were delivered to me, an envelope with one tiny packet of flower seeds was not. The status said "Available for pickup." So now I have to drive 15 minutes to pick it up from the post office. At least I will after they open again on Monday. Also, the status for two packages from the same sender say they were delivered on the same day, but only one made it into my box, and the other, I found out a week later, was "picked up by the individual" at the Post office. Except, I didn't pick it up, because I didn't even know it was there. Yesterday, we were unable to buy sufficient stamps because they were out. While waiting in line, a friendly woman asked a question of one of the counter staff about why they stopped delivering packages to her house and why it was now necessary for them to pick everything up. The dour woman at the counter said "she didn't know anything, she just works at the counter." read more

Went to return a package with prepaid return shipping label never done it before waited in line asked to have it sent out didn't help me i asked if she could tape the new label and send it back just said drop box is over there and looked toward next customer horrible service no help if could rate zero stars I would! read more

if i could get it a zero star i would. the absolute worse mail service i've ever experienced. yes covid is still effecting businesses, but at this point there's no excuse for them. i get someone else's mail everyday & i put it in the return mail & they just put it back into my mail box. i understand the person needs to change their address but they obviously don't live here. when it comes to getting packages delivered good freaking luck!! they constantly say they attempted delivery, when i'm sitting at home & there's no attempt at all. they didn't deliver my package at all & just marked it as delivered so i had to contact the company i ordered from & get a replacement order. they were supposed to deliver multiple items to my address one day & instead of delivering the larger items they put the smallest one in the mailbox & the larger ones they want me to pick up. they're unprofessional & playing with my damn money that im spending on these deliveries. i tried to have patience & understanding but at this point that's long gone. i'm beyond fed up with their service & there's literally nothing you can do about it. read more
