They were super helpful and we all realized that AMAZON was the true problem - they listed it as it was attempted but no one was available for signing when I ordered a PC, the post office hadn't even attempted yet to deliver it. So Amazon is out here causing more problems for them and they get chewed out for no reason. Shame on you Amazon. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I visited the Glenwood Springs Post Office at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. There were three people ahead of me, another person arrived after me, and everyone was standing there holding boxes while only one employee--Owen--worked at the counter. Other employees were clearly visible in the back but did not come forward to help. What happened next was absolutely ridiculous. One woman was looking at stamps, and Owen spent approximately 20-25 minutes giving her what amounted to a private stamp-shopping experience while the line grew behind her. He showed her one stamp option after another and then stood there doing absolutely nothing for stretches of five to ten minutes while she browsed and tried to decide. This was not a complicated postal transaction. She was browsing stamps--something she could have done online or on her own without holding up the only open counter. Owen could very easily have said, "Please take a moment to look through the options while I help the next customer." Instead, he allowed her to monopolize the counter while several people waited with actual packages that likely could have been processed in only a few minutes each. In the amount of time he spent standing there while this woman browsed stamps, Owen could have helped every other person in line. He never acknowledged us, never apologized for the delay, never asked her to step aside, and never called for another employee. He did not even look up. It honestly appeared as though he was perfectly content to run down the clock regardless of how many customers were waiting. Everyone in line became visibly uncomfortable and started making noise in the hope that someone--anyone--would finally acknowledge us. Eventually, an employee in the back noticed the enormous line and came out to help. Meanwhile, the woman continued dealing with Owen, later returned to discuss the stamps yet again, and apparently did not even purchase all of them after wasting nearly half an hour of everyone's time. I understand that working at the post office may not be anyone's dream job, but basic awareness and consideration are still required. Allowing one indecisive customer to browse stamps at the only open counter for nearly half an hour while an entire line waits is inexcusable. Owen showed no urgency, judgment, courtesy, or respect for anyone else's time. I have encountered unfriendly employees at this location before, but at least they got the job done. This was beyond poor service. This office desperately needs better supervision, staffing, and customer-service training. read more

Excellent personal experience. Several sales people greet me by name. Their service is very efficient given the financial cutbacks and personnel. Some customers get impatient, to them I offer, turn to the person in front of you or behind you and loudly compliment the post office staff so they can hear your appreciation about them. We don't want to lose this service here in Basalt. A grateful, satisfied local customer, Lisa A read more

Shit experience. Guy at the counter needs to switch careers. I've seen miserable post people before but he was next-level rude, aiming the scanner at my head. All I wanted to do was mail a package and he made sure that I walked right back out the door with package still in hand. Never coming back! read more

This Post Office is in trouble. Some clerks are pleasant - some are burned out. Street delivery is not infrequently to wrong address. Hold mail cards sometimes ignored and mail just crammed into into outdoor mailbox. In past postmistress was defensive when complaint was expressed. read more

This USPS location needs to have a major upgrade overhaul with regard to counter staff and upper management. From mishandling of mail to an extremely well known lack of customer service; Adele, Kayla, Owen and Naomi specifically have given such overwhelming and consistently aggressive responses to anyone dealing with the same mail issues for over six months. That they have now created a huge lack of confidence that they are handling our mail with integrity. At one point someone who seemed to represent the USPS told me that I "would not be receiving my mail for a very long time" after stating my address verbally, publicly and in a fashion that was threatening-- as opposed to with assistance for the mail that has been missing for almost two months. I have seen them smile and speak to certain people in front and behind me while in-person. This obvious, blatantly obvious change in behavior, tone and body language has occurred so many times it is very hard not to say that they have a personal vendetta against certain people. And that may reflect in how they handle the mail per those individuals. The same with how they treat and change behaviors in my prior sentence. Numerous complaints have been made to the Inspector Generals office as well as the department that manages the Glenwood Springs post office. Aside from a completely new team that needs to serve both local and new residents that wish to become and contribute locally. This post office needs to immediately handle the missing mail issues and investigate thoroughly the exact and honest reason these issues continue and how they began in the first place. If you are having issues with this post office please call the inspector generals office and the overseeing dept for this region. The only way this will change and find resolution is if we all unite and share the negative experiences that seem to be occurring quite often with many residents and locals. US Postal Service of Inspector General: 703-248-2100 Regional Director: 303-853-6185 or 1800-275-8777 The emotional tax and burden that these people have put on myself, and others dealing with the same issues, is unacceptable. The verbal posturing posed as a passive aggressive threat should have been taken more seriously. And as time has gone on and more issues have arisen the lack of follow through with all of this makes it feel even more dangerous for the employee to have said something to me with that tone. It, at the very least, is reflecting in the non delivery of my mail I believe. A more professional, courteous and respectful approach to any one of our numerous issues would have created a better sense of community and dynamic between the staff there and residents. Unfortunately each individual working there to include the post master, Adele, operates with a bias and does not represent what the foundation of the USPS's policy to provide customer service, while also seemingly mishandling mail delivery to those she holds a bias against. Please take the time to contact the people in this review if you have any issues. So, we can, as a community, demand and receive better handling of our mail and be provided with friendly communication from all staff members for all residents. read more

Worst customer service Ive ever had to put up with. Came in with a smile and good attitude and the rude bitch that attended me had the worst attitude acting as if I did something to her. The clerks here act like animals, they don't know what basic human decency is and it's been like that every time I go in. They need new management and staffing. read more

Very friendly staff and no wait when I came in. Staff was very helpful. There's very little parking around but central location by grand avenue. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Glenwood Springs, Colorado

See all

I had to purchase a locking mailbox because mail was stolen out of my box. I made the mistake of purchasing one made by architectural mailboxes. They have worse customer service than the USPS if that's even possible. Ended up with mail locked in my mailbox so had to pick up my mail until new one arrived since I had a debit card on the way as well as a passport which Kayla decided I didn't need to send my birth certificate with mistakenly because now that's on hold because she made that mistake. Signed up for informed delivery. Was sent a photo that my debit card was here when I went to pick up my mail it was not handed to me with the things that came later than that which was the most important. Only given the junk mail nobody needs. What makes them think we all have nothing but time to waste. Post office needs to be debunked and taken from the federal goverment to oversee. Also want to mention how rude Adele is. read more

The Glenwood Springs, CO post office has a bad attitude, is ineffective at its job, is dirty, inefficient, and shows no desire to improve. For such a nice small town in the mountains, this facility is a farce and deserves far better management and staffing. The fact that I'm time to write this review and complain is a testament to how bad it really is, as normally I would try to find something positive to say as it seems like a wretched to work, as well as providing consistent subpar service and ridiculous lines. read more

Rude employees with a terrible attitude. Not helpful at all. Even though there are walk in passport hours listed online employees don't honor these. read more

I never write a review but I feel the need to do so. This place is the most shitty unprofessional post office I have ever had to deal with. I talked to a rude dumb little girl you can't even call her a women from how unprofessional she was acting. I asked a simple question on where is my package and she answered in such a bitchy tone that she didn't know I do believe that's their job considering my package said it was at that post office. That dumb worker still continued to hang up and not give me any information. I ordered a Dyson that isn't cheap and have no idea where it's at. I would never recommend anyone to go though this post office there is rude shitty people working here. The post office definitely needs to do better on their staff it's sad and frustrating to see how a worker can hate their job so much that take it out on the customers. read more

I absolutely hate having to go to this post office, but unfortunately I need a box there as it is difficult to have things delivered to my physical address. It seems that I always get stuck having to deal with Lydia, one of the clerks. She definitely could use some customer service training. She acts as if every request is a huge inconvenience to her, such as having her retrieve a package that was not left in a parcel locker. It might also be a good idea to have someone clean the place once in a while. I'm not sure how long it's been since someone has ran a broom over the floor, but it has to be the dirtiest post office I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. read more

Great service, convenient hours, and a good selection of mailing supplies. Love our local post office!

It's unfortunate that I have to write this after so many chances given to the post office. The fact that this is the only office in the city sucks. The people are rude and act as if you are dumb if you don't know how to do something (has happened multiple times). Not only that but the drivers are lazy and now come to find out like to lie as well. I've never experienced this kind of dull service with UPS or FEDEX but I will make sure my packages go through them now instead of USPS. It's upsetting. I don't trust them. They are very basic and bland instead of stepping out of the way to fulfill a package delivery. read more

Waiting in Amazon package worth over 500. Itz at the post office and they refuse to deliver on time

Went to get my first ever passport. Told to arrive 10min early so I arrived at 9:50am and was told to go stand at the end and didn't get helped tell 10:10am which is 10 minutes after my appointment? Why have me come in 10minutes early. The clerk guy was stern at first but started to warm up and crack jokes. I just think they need to have better time management and costumer service training. read more

I am a local resident and had such a positive experience at the post office today that I had to share it. We had a problem with an item we sent registered mail. The entire staff was very understanding and Adele even offered to follow up for us in a couple of days. Appreciate all the people out there who are overworked and underpaid. read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE ! The worst customer service ! I've never been treated with such disrespect in my life! I was literally in tears yesterday inside the post office because of the over weight guy and the older lady that works there! The younger guy is great.. But the other two are terrible people who must hate their jobs! Everytime I have to go they are incredibly rude to me ! Yesterday my anxiety was really high and with them being rude that's all it took. What poor poor management. read more

WORST place ever , I went to send a package and the clerk was so rude it was ridiculous, I have no idea what his name was , it was an older gentlemen with glasses and long hair, like if you can't be nice to customers maybe don't wok at a customer service job !!! read more

This is my post office and most times when I go in....I am treated like I am an inconvenience. The clerks are usually rude to me and other customers too. It never seems to improve either. There is one younger man who comes out front to help during busy times and he has always been polite. I don't know his name. Everyone else has been angry and annoyed and rude to me and others. SAD. a government job with wonderful benefits and we are treated so poorly. Also, when was the lobby cleaned the last time? years ago? ugh read more

Everyone was very rude and it was a horrible experience. I needed help with a package but ended up leaving even more confused than I was. Avoid going to this place at all cause. read more

Worst post office ever. Building is dirty and staff is curt. Our carrier is lovely, but there is no attempt to deliver packages to the home when the package boxes are full. I'm guessing it's at the direction of the postmaster, who has chased people out the door who have had complaints. I've never been able to reach anyone on the phone. So, I have to go to a dirty post office with rude staff to pick up my package, when it could have been take to our house. read more

I have had the worst experience here. I applied for a change of address three months ago in order to get my mail forwarded to the box we had there. Nothing has been done and nothing was forwarded. I was very upset because some very important letters had came in and my daughters passport as well. Since we dont have access to the previous mail box at our old home then there was no way in getting that stuff. I was told to call the supervisor and even she was rude and very unprofessional. Tim one of the clerks is very rude and was acting like such a duché to me after explaining what was going on. He kept rolling his eyes and talking over me and also he was throwing things at me. I hate this place. Trying on not going back but it's hard to avoid that place when mail arrives there. read more

Went to the post office the other day to pick up the keys my mom had gotten for me and her for our condo. I went in and talked to the lady at the desk and told her that back in October my mom applied to get keys for the mail box, She asked the name and wrote it down incorrectly, when I tried to correct it, as politely and respectfully as possible, she acted very irritated ( Not that she was very nice at all to begin with ). Then she came back after searching for like 3 seconds and told me it's not there and that I need to wait for a call that it is. I called my mom and she did receive the call, so I went in to tell her that we've gotten the call and it is there. I was met with the guy who works there and told him the situation, the lady clearly listening in told him "ITS NOT THERE I ALREADY CHECKED". Thankfully he did check again and what do you know they were there. I don't recommend talking to that lady, I watched her act the same way with another person. If you have to stop in try talking to the guy there, I can't remember his name but he is very nice. Way more helpful than the lady there read more

It's not unusual for this post office to have a long, slow-moving line regardless of the day or time of day. I stood there for nearly 10 minutes a few weeks ago while the frustrated, lone clerk tried to log into to the system. If I didn't have time-sensitive tax documents that I needed to get postmarked that day, I would have left. Meanwhile, another door opened and it became obvious that there were other employees there, they just weren't helping out. There's something wrong with an outfit where an employee is obviously reluctant to ask for help when it's needed and other employees take breaks in another room, totally ignoring the needs of their customers. I hate going there and avoid it whenever possible by using other services, including those available online. It's no wonder the USPS is failing. read more

Its a Nice Little post office thats tucked away. They have enough Clerks to handle the work flow of customers. Easy Access off Main Street as well. And Close to Downtown Glenwood Springs. read more

It is a joke. It is an embarrassment for such a Federal Entity. I thought the Aspen one was bad. SO THANKFUL for FedEx and UPS!

I had the worst experience at the post office today. Usually they are somewhat rude in general. But today the woman was so rude, and didn't even try to help answer my question, about the least expensive way to ship a package. I was the only person in there and she still couldn't be helpful. I ended up just leaving, because she was so rude. I shipped the exact same thing out of Silt the week before and the woman was overly helpful. I will not be using Glenwood any longer, but will be making the longer trip to either New Castle or Silt for any shipping needs. read more
