I would say if you can use ups do yourself a favor. Vail post office people give zero damn, are so rude and disrespectful and keep loosing packages including multiple legal documents. Dealing with them is like dealing with a toddler that is unreasonable and wants to throw tantrums. I have never seen someone so uncountable. They lose your package and would just stare at you like "we don't know". The absolute worst people work here and I am super tired of dealing and relying on the worst! They might be underpaid or overworked but nothing absolutely nothing gives them an excuse for the level of unprofessional bs! read more

This is not a great post office, even by post office standards. There is no automated postage machine, or even an old stamp vending machine, so if you go here after hours, you're out of luck. Additionally, if you go during business hours, and all you need is an f'ing stamp, you'll be waiting in line for it. They don't even have priority mail supplies outside the business hour doors, so if you printed your own postage at home and just needed the envelope or box, nope. Now, just like with most post offices where they seem to enjoy annoying customers more than helping, this one also often has staff doing whatever work it is they're doing, from a customer service station, while not helping or even acknowledging customers. So, while you're waiting in the long line, you get to sit there grumbling about why that person right there at the station is ignoring you rather than helping. If you intend to not actually help the people in line, and can't work in the back for whatever reason, would it be too difficult to look up and make eye contact and say so and so will be with you shortly? read more

Passport Application Process The blonde woman "helping" me get my daughter a passport was worse than useless. She undertook actions that drug the process out so long that we had to leave before we could complete the process. The absolute worst kind of government employee. We moved mountains to make that appointment work, and then she does this. She took us 25 minutes late too. Ridiculous experience. read more

Ordered 3 different times through Amazon to a 5 Star Hotel during an extended stay. Nothing arrived on time and one package stated it was delivered but was not. DO not order from Amazon while in Vail if you need your order on time because they use USPS. All the locals I have met here say USPS in Vail is deplorable. They are correct. read more

I had a package delivered to the post office--did not know until after purchase that it would be shipped FED-EX. Was DELIVERED to the post office MONDAY but am being told we will not be able to get it until possibly SATURDAY?? That will be too late for what I ordered it for, so now I am out the $$ AND the product. What kind of BS is this??? And they will not go and look for it??? I know the challenges of being in the valley but seriously? Find somewhere else to have packages delivered if you need something ASAP is my advice. read more

That lady Sarah with the oxygen needs to retire, she's always so rude and mad if you ask her a question and don't get me started if she needs to find you a package in the back, she's condescending, rude, and vulgar, even after making a mistake she acts is your fault even though clearly is her, obviously she needs an adjustment in her attitude, I hate having to go the mail when she's there because I know my issue won't get resolved and I'm even scared to ask a question just in case she answers making it seem like you're stupid, last time I had to walk away before cursing her out! Update: 11/3/21: After a very important package of mine was never delivered to my home address despite tracking indicating it was, I went back to the post office 3 different times to check with clerks as to the whereabouts of my parcel. I was given the runaround, excuses, and broken promises. The clerks were no help whatsoever. They couldn't find my package anywhere However, there is a glimmer of hope. I tracked down a carrier (John - with a mustache) on a route in a different neighborhood. John bent over backwards to find my package. He checked all the parcel boxes at my home address with no luck. The next day, he checked the post office and found it! Why couldn't two different clerks have done the same thing?? Laziness? Carelessness? Anyway, John went out of his way to fund my parcel and he is a hero in my book for doing so. Thank you John and the Vail PO needs more employees like him who actually care! read more

At least they could answer our question about the cheapest way to mail a magazine to Illinois. What they didn't have: postcard stamps. At all. A correct location on mapquest or google maps (which, admittedly, isn't so much their fault). Public restrooms. But mostly, they didn't have any speed whatsoever with checking people through. Sorry to see so many crappy reviews for this post office. I had a package shipped to a friend that got held up, and had to visit this location to sort things out. The manager on duty was incredibly customer-friendly, and helped me resolve my issue within minutes. He deserves major props in what I know is a thankless business. The place seemed a bit understaffed (essentially only 1 person working the counter, plus the manager solving higher level problems), but it all could have been much worse. Also, I mailed some packages across the country from here, just first class post, and they arrived in expedited time (mailed on Monday, arrived on Wednesday). It's not all gloom and doom! read more

I moved to Vail April 4th 2019 and opened a PO Box. The red head gave me this address 1300 N. frontage Rd , My Box #, Vail, CO 81657 for things I order. She did not put the W. I ordered and got a shipment from Amazon, the next week using the above address. since then I've ordered two things that have never arrived and I ended up having to get a refund, but it's a gift certificate for a store not around here, so only option is to order online, well, lost that money.. It's the post office and this is the usps.com website! Lost the money from that sale. I ordered a new phone, had to call, because online, there was a problem with the address, took forever, we had a language barrier, just got an email, your order is on hold due to shipment address issues. Now, no phone , mine is dying . I would drive to a local cell phone store, but I won't be able to after May because the DMV from home mailed my registration/license plate sticker on May 17, and it still hasn't shown up in my PO Box yet. It expires May 31. I have to wait till July to register here, that'll be 90 days of residency which they require. I do most everything online, but find myself going to the Post office every day to check on something I'm waiting for that never arrives. Visiting Vail and wanted to mail some postcards, although the GPS brought me around the back neighborhood of the location of the post office address, manage to get around it. The post office is old style, has a ramp on one side for entrance and the ramp for exit. It's not busy, so in and out and done. I hope they put more color and decorations on the building to add some appeal. read more

Super friendly customer service!!! The staff here is so nice and kind! They go above and beyond to help all customers. They do a very difficult job and do a great job preforming!! Always nice and clean inside. Very safe barriers installed for COVID. 5 star!!! read more

Worst post office in America. I was the only one in the building and worker Sara Donoghue was extremely rude. She sent me off to a separate desk to get a box and tape and pack it. Then sent me away to write the address of it. All when no one is there and she is standing there. Then the customer service was rude and I just wanted to run out and never gave to go back. I am from Miami and I have never had such terrible service. Bad bad bad. Why be so rude. If your having a bad day just say it and we can all make each other feel better. After reading other reviews I wanted to share my experience with the Vail Post Office. My experience was much more positive. Today the staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. We had been trying to pick up a package for a couple of days and were not having much success . The employees at the Vail Post Office are friendly, courteous and helpful. They recognize and acknowledge all locals. Brenda, Glen and Connie are very nice and efficient! During the holiday/ski season, however, you must allow for extra time to send packages. There are also many people applying for passports, picking up mail and packages, many second-home owners. read more

Save yourself some time and look for another post office in the area, or consider UPS. It took two extra days to get a parcel that they verified they received. Jill signed for it from UPS. When they finally located her, after talking to two other unhelpful employees, she was very nonchalant and unconcerned. She stated she signed for a lot of packages and the tracking number meant nothing to her in terms of locating the parcel. Be very guarded in your expectations for anything arriving at that post office, especially if Jill signed for it. Save time and frustration and use a different location. I have things to mail, but will look for a different location or carrier for my own peace of mind. They do not inspire confidence. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever dealt with. I have cancer and needed a very important and expensive medication delivered to my home. I am not supposed to go in public right now because my immune system is shot. This post office has a horrible track record getting packages to me so I was concerned. I was in the hospital receiving chemotherapy so my girlfriend called to tell them to explain my concern. The lady basically laughed at her and told her she didn't care. So now I have to drive 4 hours to a hospital in Denver and back because I don't feel safe trusting them. They just don't care and it shows. read more
