This is ONE of the worst Postal office ever. They receive 0 stars, since you must select a star there is no zero star so i had to choose 1. Nasty customer service. Poor service. I've been waiting on the phone with this post office for more than 30 minutes. An Agent finally answered only to place me back on hold. I Never even got to explain the reason for the call. I mailed out my Passport out and tracked the delivery. To find out the package was undelivered? Why? Attempting to find out why. Never received a pink slip or anything.. This disgusting.. The lines are to long, you can never walk in and out never. As i write this review I'm still in hold. 40 minutes now. If its the nations largest Government Agency then why are customers not valued and appreciated. I'm so sorry i even had to deal with the Post office.. I will NO longer dealing with this agency. So I finally saw how the Post office delivers parcels and it wasn't pretty. I'm not generalizing all Post people but this perticular individual rang all the bells for the packages and ask them to come down stairs. It was over weight and was not using the bell properly. Couple month later this happened to me. They rang my bell of the 6 story apartment but didn't ask me to come down stairs. Very unprofessional. read more

If only I was able to give this place a zero. I can ignore the fact that this place is always messy and rather disorganized. However, having rude workers is unacceptable. I run a business that provides products that must be shipped. I normally find myself going to the post office 4-5 times a week. Most of the time I deliver them through high volume post offices in Manhattan that gets a lot of foot traffic. Even though, those post offices are always VERY busy, they have the most organized and pleasant employees. In comparison, the Post Office at Saint Johns is the complete opposite. While it might be tiny and busy, it has some of the rudest disorganized employees. I went to go drop off two of my packages that had prepaid labels, to find myself being SCOLDED by the teller about how I should have a scan form because I am holding up the line....And if this was 3 packages without a scan form she would have refused scanning my packages. Ummmmmm excuse me, prepaid packages are the quickest customers. If anything the people asking for money orders and passports are the ones that are holding up the line! Also, I AM NOT waisting paper to print out a scan form so that you only have to scan one form instead of two! That does not save time! Worst customer service! If they worked for my company, I would have fired them on the spot for bad service. read more

The worst, right now I'm missing two credit cards that should have came in the mail already. I get mail from everywhere except my own. The staff are unprofessional, they don't answer the phones. The supervisors are just as bad, so I see why the staff members are so nonchalant. They need a serious retraining because they do not take their positions seriously at all! read more

NIGHTMARE EVERY TIME! This is the most unprofessional, nasty attitude, ill mannered, negligent, incompetent, rude, lazy, lying group of workers I have EVER had to do business with. *They lost mail that was on hold for a month 2x...Just gone The Rude Postal worker Ms Johnson was so disrespectful a rogue postal worker set lose to deal with people who come there for assistance who was rude and disrespectful IN FRONT of her supervisors because she knows there are NO repercussions to her actions. The Supervisor namely a woman by the name of Ms Cofield. She is not supervising anything, the numerous daily attempts to contact her and the times that I did reach her and her promises to follow up even that didnt happen even once were all lies. How can a team be great if their leader has no work ethics or values??These people will hang the phone up on you mid conversation, they will argue before hearing the entire issue, Mail that i paid to get sent out would mistakenly get sent back to me. The mail carriers deliver mail btwn 9pm and 11pm at night. They talk to you any way they feel. They take advantage this is the post office you have to use. THEY DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS. Disrespectful to elderly i have witnessed it. These people have no class and NEEEVER resolve anything. If you cant trust your postal system who can you trust? Because i expect service I was told by postal employee I think I am better than other people. Thank God I have moved to 11215 post office, these postal workers are a class act, classy, sweet caring people that take pride in their work. 11213 is a nightmare. The gov needs to look into it and do a cleansing. They are all useless in there. Im sorry for anyone that has to use this location. If you have ever had an issue with mail lost or treated badly, contact me find me on FB and you can join me in action against this post office and its employees. Victoria Hewitt read more

This might be the worst post office in America. I'm usually in here for at least an hour, usually to pick up a package that they didn't even leave a slip in my mailbox for. This week I've been in here three different times, hoping the line would be shorter. It never is. Also, several times they have completely lost packages of mine and I've had to try to convince companies that the post office really did lose a package. They need to hire more people. Also, it's usually dirty, smells bad, and is hot. read more

Had a package that shipped from Japan containing $900 in Bape Sweatshirts for my son. The tracker seems to suggest that the theft from the package happened while at this location. Someone removed the contents, but left the box. They put on the tracker that the package was being returned to sender from their facility. The package never made it onto the truck. The theft was discovered at the facility, but no one attempted to contact me. I had to present myself to their feet to be told (in other words) that my contents had been stolen. If you're receiving valuable merchandise in the 11213 area, be aware of this post office. read more

This is the worst post office ever. They've lost several packages (including hundreds of dollars of books), and don't even attempt to deliver half the time. I once found my muddy package in the park across the street. I've never spent less than an hour attempting to pick a package up, and because the delivery people never write down the tracking number on the missed delivery slips, it's always a giant fucking mystery what is what. The carriers (though super nice) straight up don't come some days, and I *regularly* get other people's mail (from other buildings) in my mailbox. read more

Dude, what the duck is this. Seriously, somebody needs to do something about this place. I live literally like a BLOCK away from these guys and they just can't seem to deliver any packages to me. They never leave a slip for pick up and I lost ONE package to them. A package of ORANGES that my mother had sent me. ORANGES. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH ORANGES???? I hope they sat int he post office and molded over tbh. Stink up the whole place or the truck. No but seriously, I literally live like within walking distance. I can walk there in under 2 minutes.....It's literally right around the corner. I wait all day for the package. The door knocking no slip. I would give this post office zero stars if I could. When they "attempt" delivery of a package, they fail miserable. I work from home and can't tell you how many times they've never bothered to ring or knock -- or just leave the package -- as huge note says on the door. When you schedule a re delivery, they never do it. I've had packages sit for weeks even after scheduling multiple reschedules. And if you try to call? Good luck not getting a busy signal. When I've gone in person to pick up packages, workers or rude and act like they'd rather be somewhere else. I hate this PO like I've never hated a PO before. I've had so-so service at other POs; the service here is rage-inducing. read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would ! Why does this place exists ? Who the fuck hired those people ? Son , they're the worst people ever . They're lazy as fuck . Terrible service, rude employees, only one window to for people to pick up packages and the line is always long. This post office needs to be audited next. You have carriers who are rude, lazy and don't deliver the packages. They literally bring the slip to your house so you can go pick up your own packages. The employees are always in the back chatting and chilling and counting down til 5 o'clock. Again, ONE PERSON to handle this entire neighborhood's pick up of packages. Just shameful. read more

I have never written a review before but this Post Office is so bad, honestly the worst, I've tried reporting them to the Post Office Head Quarters and they have done nothing, seriously what they do is that they say they deliver your package and they'll leave a note (sometimes) at your residence and if you don't pick it up within two days one of the employees will take it home for themselves. And they never answer the phone, I've went in there and watched them just let the phone ring because they refuse to answer it or even once they just had the phone sitting off the receiver so that when you called, it just says BUSY. THE. WORST. POST OFFICE. IN. THE. STATES. ZERO STARS read more

I hate to break it to anyone who moves into this area, but you unfortunately will never be able to get a package delivered to your home address again. The mail carriers at this post office absolutely REFUSE to deliver anything that isn't paper mail and you will always have to physically go to this location to get your package. And that is the WORST part because the people who actually work here are terrible and rude and unhelpful. They will yell at you if you ask a follow-up question, treat you like you're dumb even though THEIR carriers failed to give your your package when it was supposed to arrive, and will scream at you from the jump of your conversation. This has happened to me multiple times and I have unfortunately had to learn this post office cannot be trusted to deliver my mail. If I could give this location no stars, I would. read more

If I could give -10 stars I would. Worst post office I've ever been to. The line for package pick up has literally 50-60 people on it. There is one window and one extremely rude and inefficient employee. Meanwhile, the other windows for "other services" are wide open, but those employees refuse to help with package pick up. It's horrible. I have been standing here since 10. It's 11:15 now. read more

I keep on trying to give this post office a chance, but they keep on failing. I placed an amazon order on October 18th, that was support to be delivered on October 20th. I knew that I wouldn't be home and there is no place to leave packages in my building so on October 19th, I went online to have the deliver date changed to Friday the 23rd. the post office still attempted to deliver on the 20th, but didn't leave a notice. On the 22nd i received an email reconfirming that my package would be redelivered on the 23rd. I waited all day for the package, it never came. when i went online to track my order it said the package would be returned to the sender on the 22nd. that would be weird because i got a confirmation on the 22nd stating that i would receive my package the next day. I called the post office, but i couldn't even speak to a customer service associate. I called Amazon; figured they would be more helpful. Since my tracking information stated that the package would be returned on the 22nd. I wanted to make sure Amazon had it, or saw that it was in route before reordering (to a different address of course). Amazon got in contact with the Post office and guess what? My package is STILL AT THE POST OFFICE. There is no way in hell I am going down to that post office, its horrid. I've been before, so I know that I would be in line for at least an hour. With this type of service, no wonder UPS and FedEx are kicking their butts. read more

EVERY TIME I'm here the line is over an hour long for pickup because for some reason they "can't deliver" any packages. And today I went to pick up a pair of extremely expensive shoes that I ordered that were "undeliverable" and "left with a notice" which there was no notice. I waited in line for over an hour and then I waited again for 30 minutes for the lady to go and find my package only to hear that they LOST my shoes because it was a new delivery guy. STILL waiting for a call back. If they don't find them I am demanding a full refund on my package. USPS really needs to reevaluate this location and reconstruct the ENTIRE team. Somebody please get this place shut down, they don't know how to do their job. Of course everyone is right in their reviews. They don't leave notices, and for some reason they don't know how to read apartment numbers on buildings. They are plain f**king dumb. Go there and wait in line for an hour just for them to say, oh no we don't have your package it still hasn't gotten here. They bullshit you and obviously don't care. This was my second Amazon order since living in this area and I wish it would have been UPS or FEDX delivering it because they know how to get shit done. I have never written a review in my life because of bad service, but this is over the top. That whole building and people working there should be replaced by a more reputable company such as FEDX or UPS. (We shouldn't even have to give a star to post these reviews read more

I have lived in numerous cities/towns, and this post office is the single worst I have ever been subjected to. Going beyond customer service issues (I, myself, have been very fortunate to have the same employee attempt to help me both times, and she's been nothing but pleasant; I have not observed this from the other employees, sad to say), I suspect there is something more nefarious at play. I have been in this location two days in a row, and without fail the majority of the customers waiting in line to pick up packages have the same issue -- the issue with which I am currently plagued: "Delivery attempted, notice left"... but neither are true. After talking with some of my neighbors about our shared problem, we all have the same circumstances at play; someone has always been home and never heard the buzzer, and notices have not been left in our mailboxes, on our doors, or anywhere in our respective buildings. And, without fail, we have all been sent away without our packages and told "It's not here. Can't help." I'm not one to throw around heavy accusations, but I suspect two possibilities: 1) The delivery persons are bad at their jobs and are delivering packages to the wrong buildings (which I've had happen, and which was thankfully rectified by a neighbor who didn't feel like stealing my shit -- we're not always so lucky in that regard). Or, 2) Somebody working at this post office is stealing people's packages. Like I said, I don't want to assume the latter is true, but this is too widespread an issue to chalk up to mistakes. This shit is beginning to seem deliberate, and less and less do I (or my neighbors) feel as though there's anything we can do. Even if it all does come down to delivery persons being incompetent, this place needs to clean house. I've already lost over $70 worth of property to this facility, and I shudder to think how much more might get lost as time goes on. (I always choose UPS or FedEx, but in some cases the businesses doing the shipping dictate that the packages be transferred to the USPS. In that respect, my hands are tied.) So, in summary, fuck this place with a bag of hammers. I've never experienced anything like this before. From now on, I'll just be getting any USPS-based deliveries sent to my work, inconvenient though that may be; at least I'll get my shit. read more

Its the old grumpy women that have been there for centuries they have to get rid of let em out to pasture. They won't bring the packages wont leave slips and usually have the worst altitudes when you go there. Now the newer younger models seem to be more helpful and efficient when you go there and there's a really cute thick one at the pick up window I might add.Big up to the men that work the Windows every experience I have had when they are at the helm has been very professional and if there's a problem with your package mail etc are helpful. To me there seems to be a time frame when you have to set some of the dinosaurs free or they just become grumpy old snack pack throwers. The one that delivers my mail seems to always be in a bad mood and even a smile or hello won't help her she needs a hug or something. Overall place has gotten slightly better due to the younger thunder kitten at the pick up window but mostly the professionalism of the brother at the window. read more

This is the worst post office ever and the customer service is horrible. My package was undeliverable on Friday Dec 1, so I went to the post office the following day only to wait almost 2 hours for a lady to say the package is here, but we can't locate it right now. She asked me to write down my address, phone # and address and she will call me when they found it. This is the same woman who came out and asked everyone on the long line for pink Slips only to get rid of the line only to cause commotion and frustration from people like myself who waited for hours and to see ppl who just arrived leave with their packages. Monday Dec 4 I again waited for 45 min for the woman to now tell me my package was sent back Saturday. I am highly upset.....customer service needs to be really adjusted at this location because it's ridiculous now. read more

I live 2 blocks away from this office, but somehow they can't find my address to deliver my packages and mail.

Every bad thing people are saying is true. Undelivered packages, long lines, nasty pieces of work behind the counter...avoiding this place is a real catch-22, since their very incompetence, the thing that makes you want to avoid them, is what makes it necessary to come in. Until now, I hadn't had any problems having packages getting delivered--probably because they'd bypassed this particular PO. But if there's a snafu and it ends up in this place...watch out, because your package is now stuck in USPS purgatory. I had a package go through the system without a hitch, until it was out for delivery...with the zip code suddenly one number off for some reason. Tracking info said that the package hadn't been delivered and a notice had been left, which may well have been true, but I had no way of knowing since it wasn't my address. The tracking info also didn't say which PO it was at, but said that this info would be on the notice...the notice I didn't receive, that is. I figured that the package was probably at the St Johns location, and tried to call to find out...but, as the other reviewers have noted, this is impossible. I called USPS customer service and they were able to confirm the package's location. They also offered to help me request a redelivery. Feeling optimistic, I did. HA! A week went by; no package. No update on the tracking information, either. So I went down there to pick up the damn thing myself. I wasn't happy about this, given the place's reputation, but I would never have gotten it otherwise. I explained the situation, and the first thing the teller did (well, after saying "Um, YES" when I asked if she wanted to see ID) was deny they had it. She didn't outright say they didn't have it, exactly, but she was very hostile to the idea they might. I told her it had been misdelivered, and she said they would have delivered it to the right address by now...I said, "No, you wouldn't have, because I requested a redelivery a week ago and it never came." She kept doubting me, asking why I thought it was with them, and I said that USPS customer service said it was with them, and also where else would it have been brought back to after the misdelivery? Finally she went and looked. It took her 10 minutes but she finally came back with it. Because of course it was there, in spite of the denials. I'm strongly considering having packages delivered to work after this. read more

I never write reviews or rate places on Yelp. However reading the other reviews about this post office, I couldn't help it. A couple of months back, I expected a package from overseas. Nothing fancy, just a book and some sweet little things from my family. It never arrived. It returned to the sender without any explanation and some items were missing. A couple of weeks ago I expected a package from Amazon, which I found opened under the hallway stairs in my building, content of course missing. I don't order or have anyone sent me anything to my address anymore. It's so sad that you obviously can't trust this post office. read more

The attendants behind the windows are very rude and impatient. They always have an attitude when you ask a question. Furthermore, the delivery postmen never ring bell to deliver packages. They just slip the orange receipt into the postal box. Everyone waiting on the pick up line approaches the window and makes the exact same statement about being home waiting on a package and getting the slip. The phone to this location either rings non-stop or there is a constant busy signal. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would! This is, without a doubt, the worst post office I've ever been to. From now on, I will have my packages delivered to a UPS location near my workplace to avoid going here. USPS left a notice to pick my package last week and after waiting 45 minutes today just to get to the window to hand over the notice, I was asked if someone else picked up my package because they can't locate it. Um, how did someone else pick it up if you left me the notice? And you have to show ID to verify it's addressed to you? I'm then told no one can read the tracking number on the notice and I get it online and write it myself. I'm told after another 20 minutes, that still no one can find it and I need to call a 800 number to file a complaint. To say what? The post office left me a notice that it's there for pick up and they can't find it? And then what? Is the person who answered the phone going to look for it themselves? Reimburse me for my lost items? I told the clerk I wouldn't be leaving, that the package was there and I was complaining to the right person. I asked if I could speak with a manager and was told she would out to speak with me, which she never did (or the other 3 people who were waiting to speak with her). After 90 minutes, my name was called and my package was sort of thrown my way with no explanation as to where it was or an apology for my wait or inconvenience. read more

As the other reviewers have said, trips to this post office are routinely awful, but they're also terrible at delivering your mail. I've had magazines not show up, or show up a week later than they should, as if somebody had taken the time to read it before delivering it. My wife recently had a replacement credit card just never arrive. This post office is the worst at everything. I suspect it may be the worst post office in New York City. read more
