My husband had a very pleasant experience. The post office employee was polite and helpful. The wait wasn't too long either.

It's a post office. I don't have high hopes. That being said, this is a federal government facility…read moreand the staff here don't know what the federal ADA rules on service dogs are. I'm waiting in line with my service dog sitting quietly by my side. An employee approaches and says dogs aren't allowed inside. I say he's a service dog. She says "some people are afraid of dogs can you just wait with it outside" since my partner was also with me inside. I said "no I don't need to wait outside, he is a trained service dog and he is not posing a threat to anyone in this post office." She then asks for my service dog registration. THERE IS NO SUCH THING. There is no federal service dog registry, no certification, none of that, in the USA. The ADA allows business to ask service dog handlers two questions: "Is that a service dog?" and "What tasks is the dog trained to perform to assist with your disability?" THAT'S IT. I try explaining this to the lady, I even tried pulling up the ADA website, but she just insists I need to show her a service dog ID. There are no such things as service dog IDs. Any service dog ID anyone in the US has is a PROP bought on Amazon or something. While some legit handlers do buy them for situations exactly like this, it's literally not a thing. Eventually she just gives up and walks away, but later when I'm about to go up to the clerk for my package the same woman is like "you better hope my manager isn't here next time you come in with your dog if you dont have an ID". Crazy idea but maybe employees at a FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FACILITY should know about FEDERAL GOVERNMENT LAWS on service dogs, instead of threatening me against returning.

While the building itself is beautiful, the experience really disappoints…read more There's always a line at this post office, and it's unclear whether there's 1 or 2 lines since one sign seems to always be flipped around. The passport services haven't been open every time I've come by, and the shelves look stripped and barren. All the post offices I've grown up going to sold a variety of envelopes/puffy envelopes for fragile items and this location sells absolutely nothing beyond the basic priority/flat rate packaging - not even greeting cards! It might be due to the long lines, but the service is also on the snappier side. Be ready to listen closely and follow directions! I'm thinking about investing in a small scale and label printer and ship from home.

Unfair and Discriminatory Treatment…read more I waited in line for 30 minutes at this USPS location, only to be told I couldn't mail my package because I was using an Amazon box with a visible logo. I have since mailed packages many times and have seen countless other customers mailing boxes and bags with logos from Amazon, Walmart, and other brands without any issues. This made the refusal feel arbitrary and unfair. I felt I was being singled out and treated differently from other customers. The experience left me feeling disrespected and strongly suspecting racial discrimination. USPS should ensure its employees apply policies consistently and treat all customers equally.

I'm like lady, if there was a full on coat in my mailbox, i'm sure i would have noticed it. she wasn't smart or fun to talk to but i digress. i went to the 11221 post office where i was directed to the supervisor. he saw the seriousness in my face that this package wasn't disposable butt wipes from Amazon and this thing needed real deal attention. the brother hopped in an official FBI type post office vehicle like Denzel n Training Day and drove to my block and started ringing doorbells...NO BULLSHIT! took my number and said he will reach out when he gets hold of the courier. the next day i was driving home from work and CRAZY...Jason was on my block ringing doorbells again! truly an impressive display of customer service. still no package though. after the 4th day i was ready to call it quits. do you remember that scene in Rocky when the music comes in to hype Rocky up and he gets back in there and starts whipping Mr. T's ass?! In comes KIANA!!! i saw her on my block in the big post office ice cream truck ringing doorbells!!! i was like...ohhhhh! Guess what....SHE FOUND IT!!! i could see her through my door video camera smiling from ear to ear soooo happy and man i tell you, seeing the joy and pride on her face, that made me happier than getting the package itself. maybe Jason said she was likely going to get in some kind of trouble which i obviously wouldn't have wanted but she made the effort and saved the day!!! did i mention, she was out on SUNDAY!? she was so apologetic i asked to give her a damn hug. don't get it twisted, covid is still out here kickin asses but i was just so proud of this beautiful spirited young woman's efforts i had to. if you find yourself at the 11221 post office, do yourself a favor and see if you can meet the manager there Jason F. or the beautiful young lady Kiana M. not only are they fantastic at their work because they take great pride in what they do but they are fantastic human beings. they could have written me off but they met words with action and did what they said they would do. give them both a pleasant smile when you see them for me. now Nikki that works the counter and the light skinned Black dude that was looking at me like i had a foot growing out the side of my face for asking him a question you can give them both the stink eye. dude was moving his neck, head n shoulders around talking to me like he was auditioning to be a back up dancer for a Beyoncé video. Nikki forgot to call me but whatever, she was sorry and got me to Jason so all n all she ended up being super cool too. happy holidays yo.

Worst post office ever. Severe discrimination and mail fraud…read more On Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 3:38 PM, the mail carrier for my route committed federal mail fraud. I am a Hispanic woman, and I was literally standing right outside my house waiting for my package. The carrier drove right past me, made direct eye contact, and intentionally kept going without making any attempt to hand me my package. Right after, he fraudulently marked the tracking status as "Alert Refused." This is a complete lie, a severe lack of respect, and blatant racial discrimination against Hispanic people. The staff at this Bushwick station are incredibly disrespectful and lazy. I have full home security camera footage proving the entire scene, showing that I was outside and that the carrier completely fabricated the refusal. A formal complaint has been filed with the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Do not trust these people, they steal your time, lie in the federal system, and treat minorities with absolute disrespect. Unacceptable!

Nothing beats your own space, but their assistance to tenants throughout this ordeal and housing us at hotels throughout the city is indeed appreciated. They say in your hour of need you'll know who your friends are. I have the most amazing friends! From my pals who I'm able to live with until things get sorted, those who came through last minute to retrieve my belongings from my flat (which thankfully wasn't affected except for smoke and a drizzle of water), to my Yelp-Mates who continue checking in, making sure I'm okay. I feel sooooo soooo SO incredibly BLESSED. All of that to say I wasn't in the headspace to come here, to THIS Post Office to pick up mail and other business AFTER READING THE TERRIFYING REVIEWS ONLINE. The Lord was with me. EVERYONE I interacted with here was extremely graceful! From the time I said the address they knew of the situation and were so kind and compassionate. Truth be told, from the level of service I received and the other customer staff interactions I noticed, great service seems to be the motto. Maybe staff from those reviews is no longer here? Maybe they've retrained? I'm not sure BUT GREAT SERVICE WAS PRESENT! I want to S/O Mr. Dennis Laws in particular. His service was top-notch! Exemplary! Imagine going in feeling like I was about to be beaten (lol) and walking out so light and pleased. Thank You Post Office St Johns! I 100% RECOMMEND HERE! 2023 Seasons greetings... The End.

My package was out for delivery yesterday @ 8:12 am. When i checked again @ 4:21 pm it has a "Delivery Exception Local Weather Delay" so I know this means my package was stolen or a Postal truck was robbed like a was told the last time. It's a shame how you can't rely on the post office to deliver your mail in a timely manner w/o it being stolen. The PostMaster General needs to do a thorough investigation and clean up of this Facility. I'm quite sure I'm not the only that feels this way. My next step is to write a very detailed letter to the Post Master General and his chain of protocol... Enough is Enough!!!!

There was a line, but it was moving fast. All the workers were kind and helpful. I was directed to the passport window, and the woman in the window was nice, helpful, and accommodating. I lost my old passport, and she walked through the documents needed with me (I do be staying prepared). She told me the prices, so I could write the checks on the spot, and answered all the questions I had about delivery time. I get it.....it''s not the easiest job, and I appreciate the workers' efforts in general ar USPS.....but I have no words to describe just how awful this branch is. They lost an entire architectural model, just returned to sender rather than even notify me. I watched a woman go into a crying fit over a lost package, where she begged and begged for them to look...after 3 tries they finally looked, 5 minutes later...PRESTO! package was found! If you send someone a package here, make it a loud color so the employees have an easier time finding it, as there obviously is a shortage of staff. It's been awful since 1995 when I moved to Williamsburg, so it's only worse now. We need a Northside branch.
