They don't answer the phones at this office! So sad! Super slow service too. I'm so sad to see how the U S post office has become so negative place of business!

Serving Kingsbridge and Marble Hill, Bronx, NY this is the slowest, the most inefficient turtle pace operating post office ever in the metro New York City area!! Disgruntled postal clerks with abrasive attitudes, and stolid apathetic of non-remorse personalities. They do not have nice decorative postal stamps selection but ugly cookie cutter default Forever stamps. Always a long line regardless of what day of the week or time of day. Be prepare to wait approximately ten to fourteen minutes. The passport line is a separate window that moves significantly slower which patrons can spend all day.

Attention! If you're being told by post office clerks that you MUST use the new kiosk for prepaid packages, pay close attention to the weight of your package! The scale is 100% off and you will pay for the difference in price. My package was less than a pound and the kiosk registered it at 10lbs! I reported problem to clerk at window #4 and was told "oh yeah, that shit don't work right!" I was like unbelievable!!!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I shipped a package priority mail, 2-day shipping. 3 days after shipping it the tracking information showed that it showed up in Manhattan, the only problem is it was due in Las Vegas yesterday. So, if you don't care how long something takes, or if it gets to where its going at all, then by all means carry on with this dumpster fire of a post office.

No more waiting in the long pick-up line for larger items. I'm very happy about this change. I've also noticed that the lines in general are a lot shorter lately. There seems to have been a change for the better in the way things are done at 10034. My previous review is below: I gave it two stars because of the entertainment value of the complaints and banter in the incredibly long lines here, and because the staff, while painfully slow at their jobs, seem to be genuinely nice folk. It's a really frustrating experience. While standing in the lines here I sometimes fantasize about taking over as manager, somehow improving morale and maybe sending all the staff to a typing course so I don't have to enjoy the nail-biting suspense of watching clerks search all the keys before beginning their tentative two-finger data entry. (How can basic data entry on a keyboard that you use every day be so difficult?) I don't know what the qualifications are for working here are but it seems like data entry, a lively step, the ability to efficiently find labels, packages, forms etc etc. are not among them. I'm starting to wonder if this is where they put burnt out mail-carriers to work. It's possible and it would explain a lot. When I bring my postage-paid ready to ship packages here, all they have to do is scan the package with the laser, put it in the pile and give me a receipt. Instead everyone in line needs to wait while the clerk looks at the packages like he or she has never seen mail before. I decided to pay for a PO box here, because USPS 10040 down the road cannot be bothered to deliver or leave notices for my mail and I've lost packages because of it. At least with a PO Box I know I'll get a delivery or a slip, even though it requires about 40 minutes of my day be used up standing in line to get my packages. Seems like the only guaranteed way to get your mail in Inwood.

On some occasions there will be a random homeless individual opening the door for you with the hope of getting a tip. The area inside is always clean and well maintained. I mostly go to the post office to pick up my packages I wasn't home for. The pick up line tends to be empty if you go early in the day, but if you wait for after work hours the line grow pretty big, however, it moves pretty fast all of the time. REMEMBER to bring your physical id with you or they won't give you your package. Some of them bend the rule and give it to you if you show a picture of the id on your phone but they've become pretty strict about it now. And put a pretty big and clear sign on the window regarding that. Don't risk it. I've also gone to send out certified mail and the process is incredibly easy. And I appreciate the variety of payment options. I believe the prices for everything is fair. Only service animals are allowed inside. The customer service will vary depending on the staff member you encounter. I've always had good experiences, but have witnessed some of them catch nasty attitudes if someone wasn't prepared or needed additional help. The reason for the 3 stars is that they do not have any Spanish speaking staff available, regardless of the day or time I go, they are never able to communicate with Spanish only clients. They always have to ask who in the line can help translate. It's perplexing because most of their clients are literally Spanish speakers. They do not provide passport services

No one rang my buzzer or knocked on my door. No one knows where my package ended up, because it was "forwarded to a different address"? WHY the fok? Today, separate package and I receive a message that "package is being held at post office at customer's request, please pick up your package at the post office. LIES!!!! First, even if I did NOT have a broken leg I have no desire of standing in line for almost 2 hours at that place! Second, I PAID to have it delivered why on earth should I have to pick it up? I am sick and tired of lost packages, packages supposedly delivered to my mailbox but when I check there is nothing, packages left unattended on the lobby floor claimed as "delivered" when in reality they were thrown on the floor, not even delivered to my door. Also packages with medication that are not mine, left in my mailbox. When I call I am told to simply throw the item away? What about the person who NEEDS that medication? To add insult to injury I call customer service and was told "Miss, they are not obligated to deliver to your door". Well, then you should NOT be in business because that is what delivered means, you delivered to the recipient. They have no work ethic, lie, have no respect nor regard for anyone but the money they are paid. They open late, close early, at their leisure and you are lucky if there are more than 2 widows open at any given time. This location should not be in business...they are nonchallant and dismissive when a package is missing and tell you to file a claim...so the seller claims but I don't get a refund. "Sorry for the inconvenience is a line that was taught, an no longer good enough! I am one angry customer; I have called about this over 2 dozen times times in the past 3.5 years and it is still happening!

My mom does not speak much english nor does she understand much. The lady working at this location knows that my mom struggles with english and she intentionally goes out of her way to confuse her. My mom walked in this morning to drop off regular mail and the lady gives her a consent form stating that any glass or fragile items may break in the mail. She gave my mom a whole form stated in english, to which she said she doesn't understand. She told her that it is regular mail filled with documents and therefore, this explanation wasn't needed. Although my mom struggles, she definitely was capable of understanding that the consent form wasn't necessary. Despite that, the lady continued to explain things in english that my mom couldn't understand. She clearly knew that my mom was getting confused and ticked off but continued to speak english just to belittle the fact that she struggles with the language. In the end, my mom took the documents to another post office and when she dropped them off, the lady there simply took them and told her the price. She paid and that was that. A simple procedure like this was complicated by the lady at this Webster Ave location because she wanted to go out of her way to make my mom feel bad. That is unacceptable and this has happened more than once with the same lady. All in all, it upsets me not only that my mom was being belittled for not being able to speak english but it also upsets me that the company even allows a worker like this to continue working. This place needs to be shaken up and some of the staff need to be rehired.
