This post office is located right in between an okay and area and a pretty bad area, I've never ran into any issues going or leaving. On some occasions there will be a random homeless individual opening the door for you with the hope of getting a tip. The area inside is always clean and well maintained. I mostly go to the post office to pick up my packages I wasn't home for. The pick up line tends to be empty if you go early in the day, but if you wait for after work hours the line grow pretty big, however, it moves pretty fast all of the time. REMEMBER to bring your physical id with you or they won't give you your package. Some of them bend the rule and give it to you if you show a picture of the id on your phone but they've become pretty strict about it now. And put a pretty big and clear sign on the window regarding that. Don't risk it. I've also gone to send out certified mail and the process is incredibly easy. And I appreciate the variety of payment options. I believe the prices for everything is fair. Only service animals are allowed inside. The customer service will vary depending on the staff member you encounter. I've always had good experiences, but have witnessed some of them catch nasty attitudes if someone wasn't prepared or needed additional help. The reason for the 3 stars is that they do not have any Spanish speaking staff available, regardless of the day or time I go, they are never able to communicate with Spanish only clients. the worst, most irresponsible postal office AND workers EVER! Yesterday I'm sitting at home all day waiting for a medication delivery; well, I get a message that package cannot be delivered because there was an "attempt" and simply could not be done. No one rang my buzzer or knocked on my door. No one knows where my package ended up, because it was "forwarded to a different address"? WHY the fok? Today, separate package and I receive a message that "package is being held at post office at customer's request, please pick up your package at the post office. LIES!!!! First, even if I did NOT have a broken leg I have no desire of standing in line for almost 2 hours at that place! Second, I PAID to have it delivered why on earth should I have to pick it up? I am sick and tired of lost packages, packages supposedly delivered to my mailbox but when I check there is nothing, packages left unattended on the lobby floor claimed as "delivered" when in reality they were thrown on the floor, not even delivered to my door. Also packages with medication that are not mine, left in my mailbox. When I call I am told to simply throw the item away? What about the person who NEEDS that medication? To add insult to injury I call customer service and was told "Miss, they are not obligated to deliver to your door". Well, then you should NOT be in business because that is what delivered means, you delivered to the recipient. They have no work ethic, lie, have no respect nor regard for anyone but the money they are paid. They open late, close early, at their leisure and you are lucky if there are more than 2 widows open at any given time. This location should not be in business...they are nonchallant and dismissive when a package is missing and tell you to file a claim...so the seller claims but I don't get a refund. I have had several packages containing medication stolen. Spent hours trying to track packages with no result. If the tracking number says it was delivered to me at my address, that means that the mail carrier is involved. Sorry excuse of a us postal facility. I have been a resident for over forty (40) years in my current location. The United States Post Office assigned to deliver mail and parcels is the Jerome Avenue Post Office located at 2549 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY. One Postal Worker stands out for exemplary service to the tenants of this residential building, Sharon Bolar. Myself and numerous other tenants depend on her for prompt and accurate mail delivery. To substantiate my claim, a package was noted to be delivered to my dwelling at a time when I was home. No doorbell was rung to confirm no one was home or not home. When contacting the assigned Post Office to request redelivery, I was informed with hostility to call the 800 Number to schedule redelivery. Customer Service at this location requires managerial overhaul. Postal employee, Sharon Bolar was contacted and the parcel in question was delivered with grace. I recommend this employee without hesitation for her dedication to serving and total compliance to the functions of her position. When Sharon Bolar is absent from the workplace, all too often mail delivery is often below par level. Respectfully submitted. read more

I have been going to this post office branch for 20 years from my apartment on Webb Ave. but this past 2 months have been awful , I mailed my daughter money overnight express to New Rochelle and to my anger found out the letter was diverted to White Plains for delivery and took two weeks for her to get the letter , next time I sent a letter regular mail on January 8 of this month and she has yet to get the letter , I know I can't track the letter cause it was regular mail but now I can't send any letters to her address in New Rochelle for fear she'll never get it , I've lost all confidence in this post office branch and now I will have to travel further from my address to use a post office I hope I can trust to deliver my mail , I'm totally disgusted by there performance and I won't got there again. I never thought I would ever write a review on a POST office but, this must be the WORST location EVER. I was mailing out a package & I was informed I couldn't use the Priority envelope I had because it's only used to mail out paper. I was beyond confused because I have been using the same envelope for 15 plus years to mail out something to my Dad which I do at least 4 times a month. I asked to speak with a supervisor however, he just stood there. I even went online to check because I thought maybe this is a new policy but, No it wasn't listed as such on the website. I took my package & mailed it in the post office around my area and of course I had no issues and was able to mail out my priority envelope. I waited on the pickup window line for about an hour 1/2 at Jerome Avenue Post Office Bronx, NY 10468. There were people waiting here since it opened (11:00am and it's now 2:31pm.) There were 3-4 people selling stamps to a line averaging less than 5 people while the pickup was literally almost out the door. This is completely unacceptable. As much as I love my community, I wish this post office had a better approach on customer service. The lines are extremely long and when you finally with the clerk, you're welcomed with such an attitude. I understand the hardship it is to be dealing with people but everyone here seems to take everything personal. Thus everyone has a bad energy in the room and it spreads like wildfire. I can be happy going in and once inside, my mood changes. The worst experience ever. I waited on line with several packaging to drop off and the worker rolled her eyes at me and moaned about me having to much. I told the employee to just relax and after I said that she became a monster. Yelling at me and even taking my packages and throwing them away from her. I asked her what did I do and she just kept yelling at me. Her boss came out, an elderly woman. If I could give this post office minus 5 stars I would. The people who work there are extremely rude and have no idea what customer service is. They act as if they are not employed to answer people's questions about packages. Well how do I begin? On Friday I needed to sent an overnight package to Pittsburgh, the employee assured me that the package would arrive Saturday by noon. It is now Sunday and the package is lost. This post office does not even deserve one star. The workers there must have a miserable life even at work, because they don't make eye contact, don't say hi, don't say good morning, or an even have a nice day. It is not our fault that they don't want to be at work. Also, the audacity that I was home all Sunday morning and evening and a slip was not even left at my lobby, in addition to that, they never even buzzed the intercom or knocked at my door. The fact that I have to go out of my way to come and pick it up as if I don't have my days planned out is ridiculous. How lazy and inconsiderate are these people man?!? Like seriously?!? I give them a -6 star. It's insane! They have jobs there because people like us order online for it to be delivered. They have the only attitude on top of it all when I come to pick up my package that the usps mail/delivery person never even attempted to fully deliver. Maybe it's just me but when my regular carrier is there I have no issues. I've only experienced going to the post office three times. Twice for package pick up and another to cash a money order. I have been treated nicely every time and haven't waited long. Mail comes early and haven't lost a package yet. Knock on wood. I hope they keep up the great service. read more
