Your post office is a complete joke. You don't have functioning Air conditioning for your customers. Your staff at window is incredibly rude and yet you're a main hub that doesn't accept packages. Then when you inquire when will the service come back you get attitude and told when they give us AC. Just throw the whole building away if know one going to adequately address the problems. Christina Gopal makes all the difference at this location. She is bilingual, she has so much experience. She is quick and polite. Above all she is super patient. Overall this place gets pretty crowded and busy but they also have a self service station that can help you speed through your labeling and mailing out and save time. This is conviniently located between 1 Train 225th St stop and 230th St (more towards 230th St) and right in front of Bx9 bus stop Broadway and West 228th st. I'd recommend to be patient when you go there. read more

Let me just say I like my mail carrier, however when he goes on vacation the mail just stops. I work in a doctor's office and we are not exactly waiting for grandma's birthday card. If you try calling the Kingsbridge post office it either rings or the call just drops on you. I have gone to the post office to complain but they do nothing about it. All the employees who work here have very little to no patience with people who come in and have questions or have a language barrie no and just need help. Every-time I come here (and I come here a lot because I'm a local) I see or experience a rude employee being hostile with a customer. Line was remarkably quick and was at the counter under 3 minutes. Clerk was courtesy and attended me respectfully (no snotty attitude). Postal transaction went smooth and was out the door with no drama or stress for myself or anyone else. This post office looks run down, unclean and gloomy, with no slips at the public counters. THIS is THE WORSE POST OFFICE IN NEW YORK. Unprofessional, confused, obnoxious. Long lines, slow service, misplaced bulk items. Missing mail and packages that never make it to you. When they deliver to your apartment, they rarely ring your bell; they usually just leave an orange card instructing you to come pick up your package at the Post Office....and that's when the fun begins..... You arrive with your card to stand on a separate line from the regular customer service line. It is normally shorter but can have a half-dozen folks on line on a Saturday morning. He (or she) waves their hands in the air in frustration as they cannot find the BRIGHT GREEN PACKAGE that stands out from all other parcels!!!!! Then they tell you to come back another day. I submitted an online request for a temporary change of address. Three months, THREE MONTHS, and I have gotten maybe three pieces of mail. I contacted them, and they said they'd check with my carrier and get back to me, but they never did. I reached out again and they said they checked with my carrier and he knows my mail is being forwarded. But yet and still, I haven't gotten my mail. I reached out to receiving post office and they have not been receiving forwarded mail for me. It is true it could be my receiving post office's error, but I don't think so simply because they gave me this advice: Send a letter to myself. I did and guess what? I never got it. You'd think I was forwarding it from the North Pole. I'm not. It's from the Bronx to Long Island for god's sake. Here's the kicker: I sign up for images of my mail to be sent and my letter did in fact enter the mail stream because I was emailed an image of it and it was postmarked, but it's 6 weeks later, the letter still hasn't made it to my new address. I submitted a complaint privately to the post office: no response. So guess what? Now I'm submitting a complaint that anyone can read. Lines are long and the people not all but some that work here are a waste or resources. 1.- 11am get in to make the line for passports: 11;32 we are closing the line because there is too many of you and this is the last person. 5 in front of me. I was no, why are you closing when its supposed to be at 1pm im here with a baby and not leaving without my application being taken. I haven't had a problem until recently. Now, my first class packages are not being delivered to me. I've had two that I know of that were delivered to the wrong mailbox and had to be given to me by neighbors. My most recent package to get lost was last week. Package tracking says package was delivered but I did not receive it. Neighbors have not given it to me. I don't know where it is. I have tried to support USPS. I order things online on average about once a week. Now it looks like I will have to switch to UPS or FedEx. . Replacement carriers or any other carrier I've had out of here over the 30+ years I've lived here has sucked in every way. Mail often delivered to the wrong address or never received. ( Once I found a postcard I'd never gotten, muddied in the street, from my sister-in law!) We now usually get our mail delivered between 4p and 9p at night! But other than this specific post office, what I want to make people aware of is the company USPS's scam of Priority Mail service. You pay 11 times more than a regular 49¢ stamp for, you think, two-day fast service. What you really get is, essentially, a tracking number only, with your mail handled no differently than the usual 49¢ stamp. I had an important envelope mailed from St.Louis, MO on Saturday with the 2-day service going to New York, NY. It went west to Nebraska for 1.5 days, then 3 days later it's in Long Island, NY, a day later it's at Kingsbridge Station and then of course I get it in hand at 6pm that night. Mailed Saturday and received Thursday night! And paid for "special" 2-day service. That's a SCAM in my book! read more

I almost didn't come to this place due so many 1 star reviews. But given that it was the closest place from where I was at the moment and was trying to ship a gift on the Holiday weekend to be reached on time before Christmas...my options were pretty limited. So I took a chance. I was pretty happy with my experience here. When I first walked in, I saw a long line and was thinking "OMG I'm going to be here forever!!" I was already bantering with myself about how I should have got coffee at Dunkin Donuts first next door so I could at least enjoy it while I waited in a long line. But that was not needed at all. One of the employees, Tiffany, was crowd controlling the line to help keep the lines moving along which really helped speed up the process. Tiffany was a big help! She was going over people's items who were waiting in line - making sure people had the correct labels, their questions answered, the correct box, etc. All those things she did really helped make sure those things are taken care of before getting to a window. Although the line appeared long, her crowd controlling helped keep the line moving and I was in and out within 20 minutes. When people don't have the right stuff taken care of before reaching the line, that's what really slows the lines down. Not necessarily always the workers, but people not having their ish together before getting to the window is also part of. Since that experience...this has now been my go to place ever since. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ People who slow the lines down, don't be that person: - The pen borrower: Bring your own pen so you don't have to keep asking everyone in the line for one. - The Packing tape person: No, I don't carry masking tape in my purse. I know, it's the post office. So it's slow and the lines are long. The building is also fairly decrepit, and there's little to do to remedy it. It's under the #1 subway line. What amazes me is the volume of business going on here at any given time. I guess it's no surprise because so many folks are dealing with passports in NYC, especially the Bronx. Many people use money orders because their poverty or their habit keeps them from using a checking account or on-line bill paying. There are plenty of old people in the neighborhood, and they seem to go to the P.O. every day. I know that there's been talk of closing post offices, so don't expect to see this place improve any time soon. I'm just grateful that it's still open. It's a reasonably close place to pick up and ship packages. Also, when I've asked questions people have been pretty helpful and knowledgable. And pretty much everyone is at least bilingual. read more

Worst post office by far. First let's start w/ the fact there is no kiosk to mail your smaller packages or envelopes. That would solve half the problems. Second there aren't many clerks working the windows so the line snakes along throughout the place & people just wander in aimlessly up to the windows, ignoring the lie of people waiting. And there is ONLY ONE CLERK WORKING THE WINDOW THE MONDAY AFTER A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. How does that make any sense??!?!?! When you get to the window the clerks are so unpleasant that you wonder why you trust them with your packages. AGAIN half the problem could be solved w/ a kiosks to mail your items just like every other post office in this city. And when you try to pick up a package there is usually a back & forth argument w/ the clerks about your package being there in the first place. I went up to a teller literally writing my zip code on a package and she proceeds to tell me that I am rude for holding up the line, I'm thinking that she's kidding and I say I'm done and she says no you are still writing and tells me to come back. I walked off, went to another teller and went to go talk to the manager. As I proceed to tell the manager what happened the teller jumps in and starts laughing and telling me I'm corny, all this while the manager is telling me that this is one of her best employees... the manager just looks like she is annoyed that I'm even complaining about her star employee but does offer an apology saying that I should not have been spoken to like that. This PO can be hit or miss. I agree with most of the other reviewers. Manners here are non existent. I had an unpleasant experience today. I thought that an older black woman with glasses in Window 6 had called me, BUT she glared at me, informing me that "I didn't call NOBODY up yet! " I wanted to correct her pathetic English, but just went back on line, and got a very sweet young black lady, who couldn't have been nicer.The first woman perhaps thought of herself as "Queen of the PO". I guess I would have wasted my time in asking to see a "supervisor" from the sound of the other reviews. What appears disgusting about the PO system in general, is there is very little recourse to removing obnoxious PO employees, since they are employees of the state! I will come here from time to time, because I have never had a bad experience with my packages getting to their destinations, and occasionally the workers can be very charming, and I guess those workers understand that you, the customer, are the reason they get a nice paycheck. It is truly sad how there are those with fragile egos, who pick jobs where they can exert power, and one can only imagine how badly they must feel about themselves, to treat fellow human beings this way. Dec 16th 2020 1:30pm-3pm: I've been shipping several thousands of packages from this Location yearly. Some of the clerks know me and my employees for the last 12 years. It seems there is a new Supervisor and another man at the front directing patrons. They are terrible at their jobs and giving bad information to patrons to just take a picture of the label as the receipt and just leave the packages at the inquiry window that aren't being scanned into the system. I just saved a patron from that horrible advice and told him to just get the scanned receipt because the new Supervisor is obviously not scanning the items and just throwing them onto the trucks to be unaccounted for. One of my packages from Dec 3rd still has no updates and they won't search the location after patiently hearing their BS about every single package leaves the station and how its my fault that they lost my package since it wasn't scanned. I told him that i ship many packages daily and this experience (the convo with this new Supervisor) is directing me to other avenues (Fedex / UPS) and all he can say is well I'm sorry that you will feel that way, we have competitive rates and fast shipping times. He literally lost our business because of his ignorance. Totally laughable at how ill equipped he was to handle the situation. I wasn't even confrontational. So the package, 2 weeks with no updates, lost package of a high valued item does not equate to fast shipping times as he was pitifully trying to explain vs other carriers and trying to convince me that USPS is a better choice. I don't where they find these people.. So I calmly asked him to check the cameras specifically at what time and date (Dec 3rd, between 5:30 and 6pm) along the with tracking numbers i had receipts for and the specific camera that was directed at the window. He said he can check the cameras, but without checking he says its impossible to see the packages. There is a camera not even 10ft away on the ceiling directed at the window with me bringing the packages at specific time and date. I have cctv of myself bringing the packages out of my location to walk it over. I believe my package was stolen and was only given lip service that the item will show up in the system. Not even an effort to look, literally didnt even look at the tracking number that I had on my print out until near the end of the conversation. Its like pulling teeth for the guy to work. First thing he should have done was taken the tracking info and actually initiated a search while gathering proper information from me to help, but his first instinct was to deny any wrong doing, Place blame on me the shipper that I didn't have a scanned receipt, although their practice was to take a photo of the label and just drop it at the window. Its funny as we had this convo, there were about 15 packages dropped at the window and not one of them were being scanned into the system. So for them to tell people to drop items at the window without a scan and to blame them for not having a scan doesnt make sense and then to blame people for not having a scanned receipt when we want to inquire about our lost packages. All he was doing was separating them and placing them in bins to be loaded into the next truck loads. This guy is a mess and should not be in the position to supervise a Post Office. He is obviously not able to handle and retain business. We need the blonde haired lady supervisor back. She was a boss at directing the business of that location and literally streamlined the traffic during the pandemic efficiently. She also had personnel scanning the packages before they were loaded onto the trucks. So yeah, if you want competitive rates for Lost packages, you know where to go. No one knows where anything is manager "Rodriguez " as well as some other support administrator named "Iris" don't care about anything except giving scripted responses.
