If I can give a minus star, I would. And so would plenty residents in Baldwin Park. I read the filtered review and I can't agree more with this guy's sentiment. This post office is indeed one of the most dreaded post office I ever wanted to step foot on. Unfortunately it is my neighborhood post office, so tough luck, I am stuck. The employees (except 1 Asian lady - and this star is for her) are all indifferent, impatient (huh?? we are the customers and they got impatient??), rude, scowl, seems angry all the time and scolding people a lot, and very unhelpful. As if this is their hell and they don't want to be there so they make other people's life miserable. The term going postal should be reversed to their customers. We are going nuts waiting in line and getting shitty service. Try asking them to look for a package that they misplaced, good luck. Sometimes you get a notification in the mailbox of a package sometimes you don't. I realized that when I went to pick up a package which notification I got in the mail the day before, and came out oft he post office with a package that was actually had arrived a week ago. I had to double back to the post office to get the latest package - which of course, the lady at the counter won't even say anything or apologizing for being not careful when checking my packages - she simply, rudely said to speak to the supervisor. How nice a job she has. It took the supervisor quite sometime to locate the package which apparently was misplaced in the back. I have a PO Box and they told me that other than mails directed to my name, it won't land to the box. I give you one guess. Yes, of course. Someone else mail (previous owner of the box) landed nicely in there. It makes me wonder to the work accuracy of the employees. I have my share of miss delivered mail to my address. And just a couple days ago, my neighbor handed me my mail which landed into his mailbox - and it is my paycheck!!! *ugh!!!!* All of these make me wonder how many things that I missed and wasn't aware of. ... Like I said, it is not like we can choose other post office. I hate the feeling that we are stuck with this crappy service and sour attitude. What does it take to make the change? I live in Baldwin Park and detest having to come to this post office. It is always with long lines and slow workers. They don't even try to speed up when the lines going out the door. For years I have always had problems with delivery of my packages to my home address in Baldwin Park. The postal carrier forgets to leave notices that my package is at the post office and I need to pick it up. Once they scanned that they delivered the package, but actually it was sitting on the shelf at the post office. And for years they deliver me my neighbor's email. For YEARS! The carriers are incompetent. This post office sucks. I am going to move out of this city just so I can avoid this postal services. Stay away, use UPS or use other means of mail delivery. I was going to give it 3 stars but thought that if the place hires someone who cant do their job right must be doing other things wrong as well. 2 complaints on the same person, you cant miss her she has an overbite like no other. A couple of months back I was mailing a box that I wrapped myself and she turned me away for using the wrong tape. I have been taping boxes for years for the post, she said I was using scotch tape when I was NOT, so I took my mail to Temple City where it was mailed with no problem. Today I brought in quite a lot of mail and a box, same lady. She took it this time, box wrapped the same way no different than before, but now she would not take my credit card. I have on it See ID. I have had Police and even an FBI I met once, tell me to use See ID because a signature on your card just lets bad guys learn how to write your name. She still refused to take it, so I used a Debit card, and put my pin in and went home. BUT, on my debit card were the words See ID....I'm never going back. Only saw two workers at the counter and no customers inside that area. Glad I found a post office near me and not busy or closed on the weekends. read more

After experiencing south el Monte mail service b.p. seems like heaven. The only complaint I've ever had is last years holidays there was two tablets I ordered online and the only option I had for shipping was USPS...so obviously....obviously its a smart idea to leave two medium sized packages in front of a door in a multi unit complex in the ghetto during holidays. NOT! Ended up getting stolen but they covered their butts by saying the mail carrier followed senders instructions to deliver and there was no other special instructions.... Its called common sense. It took 15 minutes, several circles around the tiny parking lot, and someone almost snagging the spot I was waiting for to finally find parking. The line inside wasn't much better. GOSH, the people that work here are so incompetent. I applied for my PO Box online, received a confirmation e-mail. Went to get the PO Box, but did not print my e-mail confirmation because, hey, let's try to be eco-friendly just for this one transaction. Nope, they need it printed out. I come back several hours later because, duh, who's lucky enough to NOT have to work these days?! I was told that I was supposed to print out my ONLINE APPLICATION so that they can issue me a PO Box. OKAY, someone explain to me WHY should the ONLINE application NEED to be printed? It was completed online for crying out loud. GEEZUS. If I had known, I would have waltz'd my ass in there to fill out the stupid application. Secondly, when I was asking her if she can at least try to look up my application because there's a confirmation number on the e-mail (oh my god, really?!) she then turned me down because my passport was expired. It literally expired a few months ago. We haven't planned on any international travel so I dragged my feet about renewing it. She just started to ignore me after that. (RUDE AF) I just moved to West Covina because I had gotten married recently. My damn marriage certificate has my mailing address, yet that's not good enough. I need either my current lease, mortgage or deed of trust, voter or vehicle registration card and home or vehicle insurance policy as a "non photo ID". First of all, the house is under my husband's name, and it's in the West Covina address. Secondly, the vehicle is also registered to our current home address and lastly, who keeps the voter information? My car insurance is under my (parent's) home address -- which is the same as my California Driver's License, but the address is not printed on there. Now, if I decide to STAY at this post office and give them my business, I'll have to go ONLINE and print that sh*tty application out. So much for being eco-friendly. I'm not trying to get into the CIA. I just want my damn post office box for my business. I don't understand why it's SO DAMN DIFFICULT. The lady the first time should have explained it. But nope, she was too busy being lazy and walked around. I won't be going back there anymore. I'd rather pay more for a PO box somewhere else with better customer service. read more

They don't take responsibility for the items they ship. I got a tracking number and my package has been sitting in the Bellflower Hub for 30days and still not moving. They said I should have bought insurance. I told them my package is not moving, so just give it back to me and they said they don't know if and where my package is. It never left the warehouse hub till this day. Horrible service they told me my package would be delivered in 7day because it was a battery and had to ship it ground. That's fine but it's been 30DAYS!!! They can't even give me a direct contact person to open a claim. All they say is wait another 2 WEEKS!! Never AGAIN!! USPS... This location has the nastiest customer service! I wanted to send a birthday present to Japan so I went to the closest post office to my home. I did not have any problem until I noticed my envelope was ripping a little bit so I asked the asian worker Royce if she could just scotch tape the part where it was ripping. She said "NO we don't have any tape." Huh? What shipping company doesn't have any kind of tape??? I noticed that she had a packaging tape so I told her that and she said, very rudely, "NO NO that's for priority mail only. If you pay for the priority mail I'll give it to you or you have to buy the tape " No I don't need to buy a $5 tape just to tape the small area when they can help me by just scotch taping it since I'm already paying for the expensive shipping. I'm in the customer service industry too so I know that this lady doesn't care about the customers at all but is just there for the paycheck. Even if you have nothing you can do to help customers, you shouldn't be rude! I'm sure these people don't even listen to customers complaints. I didn't want to deal with her anymore so I went to a different location. I asked the lady the same thing and she said "of course"! BAM! She not only taped it but also made sure the envelope was sealed securely. How hard is that??? I would never come back to this location again. read more

I can never get through to these ppl over the phone. Every time I call, no one ever answers the phone. Ever. I'm stuck at home, with 2 extreamly sick children and to top it off, it's raining. The least they can do is answer the phone so I can see if my missing package is there. My inside visits aren't too bad, but whoever's incharge of answering the phone needs the boot. read more

This has to be one of the worst post offices ever. The workers are so slow. If there is more than 1 worker working at a time it's unusual. Don't ask questions you hope to have answers to. They are clueless. The parking is limited and if you don't have to deal with the workers you are lucky. I go about 2 times a week to leave packages I need shipped. I always have my shipping labels and they always ask why I don't buy postage there. All they need to do is scan my packages in and they can't even to that fast. I'm here usually two times or so a week for business reasons and I must say I've never experienced any hiccups or what not to date.

In relativity to other post offices, I guess I can't really complain. I kind of re-confirm some of the other reviews in the fact that these guys do not answer their phone, at all. Besides that, I have a business that is serviced by this post office, generally our dealings with them are fine. Just blips here and there that nobody can explain, which is annoying at best. The other day they didn't put a parcel in my box, which they do the other 99% of the time. I schedule a redelivery, zero response. Call to check on the package, no answer. This place has decent service. They tend to let the lines build up and only have two people helping out during the busy times. If you come in for a passport expect to wait atleast an hour on weekends, during the week it is pretty empty. It is hard to understand the asian ladies because they have thick accents so pay attention to what they say. Otherwise everything else is the same. My biggest pet peeve is that they allow people to "ask" for donations at the end of the walkway. Considering it is only a foot or two of space to walk by it is extremely uncomfortable to come here. They are asking for donations for the church, saying God bless to you even if you do not "donate", to me that is an insult. Saying God Bless does not make you anymore Christian. Ok I get it MAYBE you cleaned up your life but looking thugged out and listening to headphones asking for money to support a church is not the way to go. The church receives donations through the tithe of the church members. Do sonething good for yourself and society and stop bugging us hard working individuals for money everywhere we go! This is the closest post office from my home and I've come here a couple of times with no issues. This time, I needed to mail a return item. when I arrived, one employee asked what I needed. I let this person know I needed to make a return and they let me know, right off the bat, that I needed to package and tape the label to the package but that I needed to purchase the tape; they would not provide 4 pieces of tape for a package. I continued to purchase the packaging material, and hoped since I made a purchase, they'd be okay with giving me 4 pieces of darn tape for this package, but I was wrong. I was so surprised that they would not have that good customer service as giving away some tape for a small package I needed to send, even after making a purchase. I left. When all you do is mail packages, you would think they'd focus on their customer service skills since their impression on a customer can be in a very minimal amount of time. read more

I had gone to this post office to get a postage and send mail from Baldwin Park to El Monte on July 23rd. A simple packet. I received a call telling me that they haven't received my packet and I was shocked considering that I paid the fee to possibly have it mailed in 2 days. I know that it isn't a guarantee but it has been over a week! Come on. I lost my receipt to track the package I've sent and now they won't answer my calls. It's now August 6th. This sucks. read more

No stars would truly be the most honest representation of this location. We are a small business in Baldwin Park and receive our mail every day and often receive correspondence via certified mail. In my three years of employment with our business, our regular postman has never hesitated to knock on our office door to get the signature required for certified mail. Our front office door is always unlocked during business hours. Between today's date and yesterday, our regular postman has obviously not been on duty, since our mail yesterday was shoved carelessly into our box and most of the correspondence ripped, and today when I heard the postman drop the mail off and checked it shortly after was a notice saying "sorry we missed you" with a notation that I must go pick up our certified mail the next day. This is extreme laziness in my opinion and completely unacceptable. We were clearly in the office, the postman made no attempt whatsoever to deliver our mail. Please do not bother to concern yourself to call this location direct and complain. They will just let the phone ring and you will exhaust yourself and your patience trying to lodge a polite complaint. Better luck to go to USPS.com and file formal complaint. Instead of dropping off our packages just around the back where it's safe, they simply skip our delivery and write on the package that "a dog is loose" or that "no one is home"... I know they are lying because we don't have dogs wandering in our gated community! I realized their scam when I got a notice from Amazon stating the time and day that the carrier supposedly stopped, and I was home all day! I think they simply skip out on deliveries that are inconvenient (like having to walk up to someone's home when it's a package that can't fit in the mail box) and they can get away with the excuses above. read more
