Some mother f*cker at this post office is stealing mail. I have had numerous birthday cards and envelopes with gift cards stolen. So have my neighbors--all mailed from different places in the US--which tells me the culprit is at this post office. Last month I mailed a fake birthday card to myself from a different part of Austin and it never came. Hmmmm. Someone there needs to be fired and arrested. read more

This place is a total joke. I received what should have been birthday cards with the card, check, cash or gift card missing. The envelopes were ripped open and everything was taken out. The envelopes even had an official USPS stamp on them saying "undeliverable" yet some how these empty envelopes still ended up in my mail box. Having a package delivered? You better sit outside by the mailbox because the mail man does not knock on your door. He/she is too lazy apparently. So, you then have to pick up your package from the office which will take at least an hour BECAUSE NO ONE HELPS YOU. Terrible. read more

Literally, the WORST post office on earth. The "quick-service" line takes on average an hour to pick up packages. I've had two packages (insured at over $5000) stolen that said they were delivered. We also had a $200000 cashier's check stolen that we had to have canceled as soon as it went missing. I AM NOT KIDDING YOU!!! This really happened!!! The postal inspector is obviously in on all the theft at this location, because NOTHING has been done about it. This Post office, and it's delivery staff is definitely the worst in Austin, They don't open according to schedule and they lose mail constantly.. We had to go to the post office and talk to the delivery manager no less than three times that the delivery person was putting our incoming mail in the outgoing Slot before they corrected the problem. Downgrading my review from two stars to one star. Another error by this post office in failing to deliver my mail at the end of a hold mail period, as requested. With Austin traffic as bad as it is, the long distance from where I live to his location (especially with a downtown major postal location nearby and a much more sensible pickup point) is a major inconvenience. On Saturday. January 7th, 2017, I mailed a USPS 2-Day Priority Mail® Window Envelope from my home state of New York to a gentleman in Austin, Texas (78744-7135). The tracking shows that this envelope left my home state of New York on January 8th, but that it never arrived at this post office in Austin, Texas. A check was sent thru the mail to my address from this location.....SOMEONE HAS LOST OR STOLEN MY CHECK FROM THIS LOCATION.....it is now 12 days later and no one seems to know where my check is...plus, I drive to this location (10 mins away) around 4:30 p.m. and when I get there ..the gate is closed......i didn't know the post office closes 30 mins early??? With Christmas postal madness all around us, I expected a bit of a wait right when they opened on the Thursday morning before Christmas. There were only 3 people in line ahead of me and 3 working the counter. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Went to the Westlake post office the week prior and it was packed. Get a PO Box at another post office - or use Fedex or UPS or other delivery service... it's likely cheaper than a PO Box. AVOID THIS PLACE. I have never had problems with a post office before in my life. I was alive when people used to write letters. I've had this post office for 3 years now, and they lose or don't deliver mail ALL THE TIME. I get regular mail from out of state, which I am expecting, and it doesn't show up. If you ever get a pink card telling you they have a package and need a signature, returning the slip in the mail to tell them when to try to redeliver NEVER works, not once. You have to call them directly, in the morning, to tell them to put it on the truck.... and when that doesn't work (50/50 chance), you have to go to the place in person. Scheduling re-delivery online or complaining won't work. In person or no package. -They did not deliver a package this Christmas.... They sent it back to the sender as a package that wasn't picked up and completely shattered the fragile shipment. -They didn't deliver some shoes awhile back. I called them directly at the location, the postal service, scheduled re-delivery online, complained online multiple times (to which I was never responded), and eventually they delivered my package, which required a signature, without a signature and to apartment representatives. And since there was no record, the representatives did not know it had been delivered to them when I checked with them. The next day, I caught the mailperson out delivering mail, and he said he delivered it the day before to the apartment reps. The apartment reps then searched for it and found it. All that for shoes. I could have walked to factory faster, if I had some shoes. -I was sent a check from a family member from out of state for a gift I could only get here. Two other letters arrived, but not the third. My family member is not the type to lie. It most certainly was lost. -They lost a money order a visitor sent to her landlord while she was here. There are other things. The above listed are recent or stuck out in my mind at the moment, but I'm tired of thinking about this place. I have the feeling they have a carrier [or carriers] stealing and/or dumping mail in the trash. read more

If some of the things I ordered online had an alternative way to ship, I would do it that way more often. I hate coming to the Post Office with a passion! I usually go once they open up and there is always a long line and only one person in the front to assist. Especially with the holidays come around, you need to staff up or make over time mandatory with the little staff you have. The wait is long and than half the time they will make you go around the corner to the side door for assistance. Sometimes you wouldn't even think you needed to but you sometimes do. The staff always seems crank as hell as well! They look miserable as if they hate their jobs. No one wants to be up at the crack of dawn but you chose your job. Put a damn smile on! I don't want to be at the post office at 8am to wait in line for 20 minutes to mail out a package...If you hate your job than leave. Also, you need someone to do some lawn maintenance...The time I went, we just had some good rain and usually insects and rodents will come out because of it but there were rats/mice everywhere in the grass area and even near my car. It was super creepy and made me want to freak out. Luckily enough they would run away when someone got to close but not all rodents are like that.... read more

Warning: Poor Customer Service. I want to start off by saying I have never written a bad review until today. It only takes one bad apple, and today I met her. Kimberly, a US Postal Service member, who want to be more of a Hollywood diva then a respectful, responsible worker. When I asked for clarification on a package she just walk off in the middle of her shift because she didn't feel like answering me. Wow. What's sad is her coworkers are hardworking and courteous individuals. In fact, I found out that Kimberly had incorrectly tried to charged me $20 more on my packages, but thanks to her honest coworkers, they corrected the error. What's scary is that it appeared her coworkers consider this a 'normal'. They weren't phased by her 2-yr old tantrum and walkout. It's in acceptable behavior. It seems they need some leadership to reprimand rude and irresponsible employee behavior. Will I go there again? I'll think twice....it's worth traveling the extra couple miles to a more clean and orderly establishment for me. read more

The actual post office itself is whatever. It's a post office. It's not clean, but does it really need to be? I'm primarily complaining about the postal workers. I was waiting for an important package, and literally have not left my apartment all day because I wanted to ensure I would be home to receive it. It's getting late in the day so I go outside to check my mailbox and low and behold, there's a "Sorry we missed you!" note in my mailbox. Are you kidding me? The mail man was too lazy to walk FIFTEEN measly steps (yes, I counted. I had plenty of time while I was waiting on hold with the USPS customer service). My apartment is practically right above the mailboxes, he probably could have said my name or apartment number and I would have heard him. I've seen a lot of post office bashing on other review sites, so I figured I'd put my $ .02 in for my fellow yelpers. For 3 years I've ALWAYS received my priority mail here in 2-3 days, and local mail the SAME day or the next!!! One time they even tracked down and delivered my e-cigs the same day that were sent to the wrong address (Shipper's error) !! I was Nic'n pretty bad,they saved me. The worst customer service EVER! Carrier marked my package as delivered to a parcel locker in my apartments. Checked my mailbox and office, no package. Called the 877 number, waited 35 minutes to be told a claim can be filled which may take up to 10 days. Called the station more than 10 times (444-1083) no answer. Went to the station at 3:25pm. Was told by Jeffrey the supervisor that he would look into it and will call me in 45 minutes, NEVER HAPPENED. Came back to the station and was told the carrier left for the day and I would have to wait until tomorrow as he may have put it in the wrong parcel locker....how is this possible when the apartment number is clearly on the package and the mailboxes are numbered. Kimberly, a worker at the post office, was beyond DISRESPECTFUL. Told the sup about it, he did NOTHING! Ask for the postmasters info and was told I can find it online. It seems most of the employees either don't care or are just sick of their job. Rude and generally unfriendly. Their delivery drivers don't even bother to deliver packages that can more than EASILY fit in the package boxes at our complex. They prepare scanned notes to tell you they didn't even try to deliver your package. Then, when you do arrive at the post office, there's always six to seven people waiting to retrieve packages. After waiting 30 minutes, they'll let you know they can't find your package. I've lost at least three packages due to USPS's carelessness. Stay away, use UPS instead. read more

Worst post office I've had to deal with. Ever. In 3 states and on APO's. They couldn't deliver s package to our business on a Saturday because we were closed, they tried again the following Tuesday, after we closed. Now no one can find the package, they won't contact the letter carrier to ask what she did with it. Zero help. And the "lady"/sea hag at the package and cert mail pick up was rude from the get go. Snarky and acted like I was bothering her. I spent over $50 to have something shipped and delivered, I shouldn't have to do leg work to find it and put up with incompetence. USPS carrier picked up my package from my job and never scanned it. It's been over two weeks and my tracking number does not have a any information because he never scanned it. He either never scanned the phone or he stole it because post office is now saying it is considered theft. The package contained a very valuable item. I do not trust USPS. If your mail is coming threw this post office consider it a loss. Someone had express mailed me a package which needed a signature and instead of coming to my door they just put a note in my mail box which they lied on as I check my mail box daily and the day I found it they claimed to have tried dropping it of the day before. Went to the physical location itself and after waiting 20 ish minutes behind a man they couldn't help either the lady looked at my slip closed the door I heard some loud talking about going to Texas road house and then she pops back up and goes " oh I hate to tell you this but someone accidentally put it in the return bin already so it's already on it's way back. " mind you this had all been in the span of a day the slip said delivery was tried on the 24th and it would be available the 25th and the day I went was the 26th. I just can't wrap my head around there nonsense. Also a few months back they destroyed another package of mine leaving it squashed in my mail box almost a week late, with a plastic " sorry for the inconvenience " bag over it which I found ironic since the destroyed package didn't even have anything in it anymore! read more

WORST POST OFFICE EVER. They have lost TWO DIFFERENT packages. One that was sent to my door step and the other to my mailbox. HORRIBLE. They not only gave me a run around for about 4 days for the first package, but then gave my boyfriend the SAME run around when he went to speak with them about the 2nd package. They are severely understaffed and NEVER EVER answer their phones, don't even bother. Both occasions they told us that "the carrier has it... But your normal carrier is over burdened so has been giving mail to other carriers to deliver" MAYBE THEY SHOULD STOP DOING THIS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T STAY ORGANIZED AT ALL. I even have waited for the mailman to arrive, and ask him myself while he is delivering the mail to see if my package is on his truck, same response, "I don't usually have this route, the package isn't here" I can not say how horrible this post office is. We paid $12 to get insured, two day shipping on a package shipped from California on 11/23. Now, nine days later and still can't find it!

This is by far the worst post office I've ever been to. They installed new mailboxes at my residence without even telling the property management, and now our keys don't work. When I asked management, they said to ask the post office about it. When I asked the post office, they said I'd have to apply for a new key and wait for it to be ordered. I put my mail on a hold mail order for the mean time, rolling with the punch. After calling to check the status of my package, the automated system said it had been delivered yesterday at 8:45 a.m., but when I went today to get it, they said they did not have it. Not only that, in the mail they did give me, there was a letter addressed to a person whose name was not on the hold mail form I filled out, and whose address is on a completely different street. This lead me to believe someone else may have my $100 package. I expressed all of this to employee Juan Castillo, who claimed there was nothing I could do but hope to catch the delivery driver while he was in my complex and ask him to get it for me, and when I expressed frustration with this and told him he "sucked," he took it far too personally and literally threatened to go outside and fight me. After that, I spoke with a different employee, and she was able to help me get access to my mailbox. So despite his claims otherwise, the issue really was Juan's incompetence. I hope he doesn't continue to threaten other customers who express irritation with him, considering he did, in fact, suck. I have never written a one star review for any reason establishment in my entire life, but this place more than deserves it. Worst post office I've ever been to. Give me my package. read more

I lived off Riverside for a while and the mailman stole from me. I used to get Graze boxes (food) delivered through USPS and they would show as delivered but they would never show up. I also never got birthday cards / greeting cards that I knew were sent. No one answers the phone over there. I called the postal inspector and that didn't seem to go anywhere. read more

You stand in line for an hour to get anything done. They yell at customers and insult them when they ask questions. If I could give this location ZERO stars I would. We have been given the run-around - we recently moved office locations and have not received ANY of our mail for 2 weeks, when the requested forwarding was done January 22nd for request date February 17th. It takes an hour to get anyone on the line when you call the 800 number only to be told to go to the S. Congress post office location. When we got there, we were told to go to this post office off Burleson. We were told a "Supervisor" would call us back later b/c they were unable to reference our change of address request. I just got off the phone w/ the alleged "supervisor" who was unhelpful, rude, unprofessional...the list goes on. I couldn't get a word in edge wise with this guy to explain our situation. I told him I wanted to speak with a supervisor and he said he was the supervisor. At that point, I told him I wanted to speak to whoever oversees him. He said he could email about our situation if I wanted him to handle it and that was the only choice I had. I refused and he hung up on me. This is DISGRACEFUL SERVICE. We just want our mail! The second star is only because I was actually able to talk to someone once who helped address my problem. However, this time I haven't even been able to get through despite numerous attempts (either it just continues to ring or there's a busy signal). I work at a downtown office whose mail is delivered through this location. I understand that they're stretched thin, but it's really unacceptable when our mail is not even delivered about 20% of the time. I didn't really realize this was happening until I bought a series of things online and was able to track them and see when they were attempting to drop them off. I keep getting "business closed" on the package tracking, and it shows that they've been showing up anywhere from 5:20-ish to 7-something (p.m.). I called to see what was happening and was told that we are at the end of the delivery route, and all the addresses on the route are businesses so they can't shuffle the route to deliver to the residential addresses first, as they would normally do. The person was helpful, though, in that she contacted the carrier and got him to come by and deliver our mail that they have tried to drop off the previous day long after we were closed. i just lodged an official complaint using the USPS 800 number, though, because this keeps happening and it just seems like very poor management. At the very least, they could switch the direction in which they run the route so we're at the end every other day rather than every day--couldn't they? That just seems like common sense. But looking at the other reviews, it looks like there are just a lot of management issues at this branch. read more
