ZERO STARS ZERO STARS ZERO BBB NEEDS TO GET INVOLVED terrible disgusting customer service. They are rude and disrespectful and are just horrible miserable people I tried calling many times before I had to go up to the post office but of course like other reviews they never answer the damn phone and so I drove all the way out there, they weren't even busy. A tall guy asked if anyone in the line was here for missed package me and another gentleman raised our hands and said we were, he helped the gentleman and then proceeded to walk off so I kindly reminded him that I was here for a missed package as well even though my missed package shouldn't have been missed at all. I got a notification saying that the driver cannot access my apartment yet he was still able to deliver my mail to my mailboxes that were inside my apartment? but he wasn't able to deliver my package to my front door when I live right next to the mailboxes? It doesn't make any sense to me. The guy then told me that he could not help me because he was going on lunch and I told him you just helped the other guy and the lady behind the counter proceeded to laugh at me while the gentleman walked away not saying anything to eat his lunch. After finally getting up to the counter, I had a lady that helped me. She was very unfriendly kept rolling her eyes, never smiled once, never said she was sorry for the inconvenience for having to come all the way up there. All she said was that my package will be delivered tomorrow, that wasn't good enough for me. I wanted my package today because there was absolutely no reason for it to have not been delivered today. She then went to the back for quite some time, after she came back out she then told me that the driver will come back out and deliver my package today. I was happy with that answer so I gave her my number as well so that way the driver could contact me if needed and she said that he would and it would be delivered within the next hour. So I went home and waited and after about an hour I watched the mail truck come by my apartment gate, they didn't turn in to my apartments they literally just drove by stop for about two seconds and then drove off so I hopped in my car and I followed them all the way back to the post office because I got another text notification right after they drove off saying they could not access my apartment even though he never even tried, he never contacted me, nothing, I get to the post office AGAIN it's a different lady behind the counter same guy that went on lunch, but he didn't help me he wouldn't even look my way. The new lady I got was even worse than the first one. She must of hated her life, she should honesty quit or be fired because it's obvious she's not happy there and she treats people like shit. Her answer to me on when I asked, why wasn't it delivered for the second time or why did the driver not even try to contact me or turn into my apartments, her answer was he (the driver) has a lot of packages to deliver. That was the pathetic answer she gave me. I told her I watched them not even try to turn into my apartment and she just shrugged and said she didn't know. I was able to finally get my package but I had to go up to the post office twice and be treated terribly. This post office honestly needs to be either shut down or they need to fire every single employee that they have inside and the drivers and hire everyone new because they these people are the WORST and they all suck, they are horrible people they do not care about anyone and it is honestly disgusting that there is a business let alone post office with this appalling attitude and behavior. Providing great customer service is not a difficult thing to do, but apparently it is for this post office. Trust me this review is just the start. read more

I understand frustrating waiting times, i also understand that at USPS they are working in a very difficolt times, i also understand that way too many people is entitled in about everything in this life, included the fact that whoever is at your service does not mean that he or her are slaves of society. To all the people with all sorts of complaints out there i say this: be kind, be caring, try to make this world better, we are going way out of track, this employees are struggling often working undermanned and dealing with many problems all day. They do not answer the phone. I had to drive up there to ask a simple question. When I was there I called. I heard nothing, no ring at all. So I'm like where is this phone I'm calling. Talk about the worst people ever at any postal service! All terrible with how they handle customers & how they speak to each & every one. No one would answer the line for package/certified mail pickup & I witnessed an older lady speaking horribly to a man whose first language was clearly not English about which stamps he wanted... it was obvious he just wanted stamps to mail his card for xmas, and she continued to patronize him if he wanted the flag or holiday stamps... This is just utterly terrible considering that we have to rely on such people to provide mailing services & our tax dollars go towards people that are being so awful to paying customers in line for xmas. Christina in particular was the worst when I was just there to pickup a certified letter. She had the audacity to chime in that the address on my DL didn't match up with what was on the slip. And that a bank wouldn't cash a check if the address didn't match up. ??? It was a certified letter not a check, which was none of her business. Our privacy is protected by federal law, the last I recall. I won't go on to retell the remainder of the transaction. What a terrible, miserable human being she is. The worst post-office I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. We have paid for extended forwarding through June 2024 but they continue to return our packages and first class mail to sender. In the five years that our mail was delivered by this post office, they lost or mis-delivered our packages on countless occasions. They have lost several packages and marked as delivered but were never delivered. When packages are lost and you fill out the forms for a refund they never provide the refund. read more

I had a very important item that needed to be shipped to my apartment. It couldn't be dropped off so it was going to be sent back to the sender. I tried to call them so I can pick it up at their location or at least hold it. But no matter how many times I call this place they never answer. I try to find solutions online through the usps website but the company hardly gives you any options nor assists you. USPS as a whole is one of the most frustrating postal service ever and I wish I never have to use it. read more

Actually the worst post office in existence. Only come here as a last resort. The level of pettiness is unparalleled. Waited for 8:30 am door to open for package, rung the bell several times. Nobody came, line out the door. Finally asked at front, they couldn't/wouldn't help, told me to ring the bell. The guys in the back DISABLED the bell, and still nobody would answer. Our mailboxes have repeatable been broken into. Now two weeks and nothing has been done to repair them. I went to the location to pickup two weeks worth of mail, the woman working the window returned with one magazine and told me that was all she could find. I find this individual despicable, rude and a pathological liar. Withholding someones mail is a federal crime, and she should be fired. Post offices are, by their very nature, terrible places. If you find yourself at a post office, something terrible has probably gone wrong in your life, forcing you to enter the belly of the beast. This particular post office is the ninth circle of Hell. That perfect combination of rude employees, bad service, hard to reach location, dangerous parking lot, and ineffective logistics. I tried for three days to get an appointment to get my passport renewed here. They don't do walk-ins, so you have to make an appointment, because of course you do. In order to make an appointment, you have to call them on the telephone. The problem with that is, they never answer the telephone. So I decided to try to walk in to make an appointment to renew my passport, and I was told that the passport person wasn't there, even though it was during their passport hours, and that if I wanted to see them, I should make an appointment. Problem is, the passport person is who you need to speak with to make an appointment, and as I stated above, they never answer their phone. This place is why people hate the post office. read more

Possibly the worst office on Austin. Staff are completely incompetent, confrontational, and under-qualified (not even sure how considering these positions are the postal version of entry level fast food workers). This location and the customer experience is exactly why the future of these repetitive basic services need to be fully automated and also why no sane person should ever support government-managed businesses that provide customer facing services. This place is horrible . There are always long lines. I have to come here multiple times when things should be handled in one shot. The first time I had go get a mail key.I had to come back in 10 days for some reason? I guess they had to make it? I come back and a new lady did not like my documentation. She said it had to be printed and the electronic one with my driver's license was not enough...OK. I come back a 3rd time with the full bill of sale all 50 pages and all. I then still had to wait 40 min for the key. The second time I come back I had a letter that needed a signature. I come with the form the mail man left...they lost it. It dissapeared. The actual people are nice, I just hate wasting hours of my time coming here. Nice but incompetent. read more

they tend to never answer the phone or leave mail, I was left a redelivery slip stating I wasn't home when I was at home all day during a day where the streets were frozen. So... I had to pick up a piece of mail that wasn't delivered to our office for some reason. (Our office is in East Austin, but that USPS location currently doesn't hold mail for any East Austin residents. That's another story.) I got to the Burleson Rd Post Office at 4:30 on a Monday and jumped in the "quick pick-up" line. The line, not kidding you, did not move for 20 minutes. So closing time rolls around, and I'm only about 3 people closer to the pick-up window. Frustrated people started to leave, but they were all behind me so it wasn't helpful. That's when the angel of Burleson Rd USPS showed up. I think her name was Peggy, and she totally took charge of things. She let everyone who waited in line know that she was going to help them. She was quick, efficient, and very in-control. (Unfortunately the two people helping her were not, hence the long wait to begin with.) So in closing, 1 star for this Post Office. The wait was awful and most employees were slow, confused, and unhelpful. Extra star for Peggy who knows how to get things done. read more

There are soo many awful reviews yet time and time again the same staff is at this location! Clerk #13 always has a rude attitude, it never fails she is abrupt and doesn't make customers feel welcome. Pretty sure it's obvious who this could be. I somehow literally always get stuck with her and feel like I'm walking on egg shells. I agree that back when I was living at an apartment, the delivery person would literally never open the damn gate like it would kill them to do an extra step. Today, I went to deliver a package and was legit charged for tape and bubble wrap that I brought from home because the damn lady didn't bother to ask if I got them from the location. Takes about 40 calls to get one call answered. Put a five star because this is not relevant to the post office. This is about the driver for the zip code 78741. Was expecting a very important package today. I was home all day to make sure I didn't miss it. The driver just left a "sorry we missed you" note in my mailbox and didn't even attempt to deliver it. FIX THIS. UPDATE: Second bad experience 1 month later. I ordered some Christmas presents that were to be delivered today on 12/27/2016. I went into the tracking history which stated "Incorrect address, package is being returned to sender.' I had someone read the address out loud on the phone, and it happened to be my exact, valid, correct address. Give me my package back! read more

I pick up my mail at this location frequently, this business has open there doors 10 to 15 minutes late on several occasions. Waiting time to pickup a package is extremely lengthy every single time. Service is just horrible! Clerks are extremely rude and have a negative attitude. I'm currently making arrangements to forward my mail to a different location to avoid further inconveniences. US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Austin, Texas

This place works about like any other post office...I've dropped off a couple packages and have managed to call and get quick and knowledgable help with mail delivery issues. However, there's still a huge administrative problem here in that the hours and facilities are not set up to serve the majority of customers. This place is handling mail for all of East and Southeast Austin since the USPS location on E. Sixth was reduced to postage-stamp size itself...so USPS directs customers to this "full service" location, even though it's anything but. There's no automated postal service unit for you to buy stamps or mail packages on your own, and no weekend hours whatsoever. So if you have a package to pick up or mail, you're probably going to have to take time off work, fight traffic from the other side of the river, and stand in a very long line to do it. Anything requiring multiple trips turns into a story even Kafka couldn't make up. Even adjusting the hours so they're open until 6 would make a huge difference...but with that and no automated kiosk, this place is a two-star suckfest. Good luck. read more

its a post office...so of course they are not going to get a great star rating... I have been in various locations across the country and this one has to be the slowest one, busiest one with the smallest parking lot ever. The parking lot probably has like 15 spots MAYBE 20. You are forced to park on the side or in neighboring office park and walk to the actual post office. I parked in the employee lot which was closer...ha! There are only 2-3 counter people at any given time and I was here at 3:00 pm and the line was out the lobby into the mailbox area and the quick help window also had a line into the mailbox area. Absolute trash. Have been trying to get my mailbox fixed for two weeks. Moved into a new home and they manage the community boxes and lucky for me, mines been broken since the day they gave me keys. Have called over 100 times in last two days and FINALLY get ahold of someone just to be told for the third time (went in once, called once and was promised a call back), that they'd put in a work order. Best secret post office EVER. I work nearby, but often forget about this one and instead go to the easier-to-get-to office on S. Congress. But that one always has a line out the door and getting in and out is a hassle with the busy Congress traffic. This post office is fabulous! Ok, it's older and dated (no self-serve kiosk, though I swear they use to have one and a stamp machine too), but the line is always moving, the staff is super friendly and I've never had an issue finding parking. I've lived in a few different neighborhoods in few different cities and states so far. These people are the absolute best in "not delivering" domestic and international packages in my experience. Many times they don't even leave a note to at least pretend they attempted delivery but weren't able to! I mean today, expecting an amazon prime delivery, I went to mailbox and saw nothing but junk mail fresh from today. Then later I get notified usps attempted delivery but wasn't able to access my mailbox! At 6 pm! Funny how u managed to put the irrelevant mail in the box u couldn't find... They don't pickup the phone and when u go to the office in person, no one actually knows what's going on with their packages and manager is like that's just how it is ... read more

My experience here was everything a midday trip to the post office should be... despite it being almost noon, there was barely anyone there and I only had to wait in line for a couple minutes. The lady at the desk was browsing a burger menu (kind of funny), probably thinking about what she wanted to order for lunch, but she was attentive and fast - all-business. Not overly friendly, but not rude in the least; I still got a "how are you doing." I was in and out within 10 minutes and hadn't been belittled in the slightest! I'll go back another time to see how things fare when I don't know what I'm doing and need help. But, this was a good first impression. read more

This one is kind of "unknown" and somewhat hidden on a back street. Went in here yesterday to mail about 50 packages and the woman at the counter didn't even blink. She actually got excited to find an easier way to manage such a pile and kept a smile on her face the entire time. At the window next to the one I was at the woman there also stayed super friendly and polite the entire time. It's the holiday season and everyone is mailing packages, the line is out the door and the staff here is keeping their cool - huge plus in my book. Top all of that with the fact that the line here was shorter than the other local office and I'll return! My only complaint is that this location doesn't have the self service kiosk yet - but then again that thing is a bit clunky to use so it's not a huge deal. read more

I spent 26.00 on a priority overnight signature required package with a clear address to an agency in Austin. The agency recently changed floors in the same building. Instead of delivering the package to the floor on the address label, the postman made five attempts to deliver to the old abandoned floor, completely ignoring the address on the label. Add to that, USPS does not allow senders to make requests on an article in transit (like to give the postman the heads up, hey, deliver to the floor listed on the address label, not where you think the agency used to be). Then lastly, this particular location does not answer their phone which is unprofessional and inefficient and does not represent respect for the customers they "serve." read more

Oddly we get ALL our junk mail and mail that doesn't belong to us, but never cash value gifts. Visited this place to pick up mail and the entire staff is rude, unhelpful, and they have a line as long as the DMV. The place is messy, dirty, unorganized and no one can help you with anything.
