Some are awful. Some are not so much. They are all pretty equally dark and old world because there is literally no reason for them to be fancy. They are functional government buildings. What makes these buildings 1 star or 5 star worthy are the PEOPLE! The employees here at this USPO have consistently been helpful, friendly, and genuinely downright great people to do business with. They do it with a smile. They are kind when people like me have no idea what they're really wanting to do or how to go about it with all of the different colored slips and services you can get or do. One employee has even gone to the extent of advising me that my passport renewal application was going to be rejected because I used blue ink instead of black ink and to fix it before I wasted my time and money. He knew this from working at the passport agency in the past. He could've been silent. He could've just done his job, shipped my papers, and generated more business when I came back weeks later to do it again. No, this man went out of his way to help me as a person. This, these good people, these are what make or break a business or service of any kind. These people here at this post office, they are kind. 5 stars, hands down.

Both days the clerk refused to provide assistance and both days she said service area was closed--even though the post office was open and customers were in queue!!! On the 2nd day, when I asked for assistance and clarification for why the pickup service (blue door) was closed--it was only 930am... the same clerk walked through the blue door (pick up area) and CLOSED THE DOOR IN MY FACE AND WALKED AWAY! No signs indicated package pickup was not open, no courtesy, just attitude. What should've been a 5‑minute pickup turned into over an hour in the general line. People have bad days. The shop owner let the couple have all the copies and envelopes he had provided them for free, then gave them directions to a nearby place that had a later UPS pickup time. THAT is the sort of personal, generous customer service that will make this my go-to mailing place.

After that, does anyone else in the universe really need to be abused by large, loud elderly white males? There were three elderly white males manning the desk tonight. Two of them may have been awesome. I got the one who had been yelling out to everyone exactly how to behave. It was a calm line, but he needed attention. I had 3 packages with computer printed labels on them: one for USPS and two for UPS. He deliberately and condescendingly informed me, moving the packages about and jabbing each label exclaiming that they were for UPS. "UPS NOT USPS" he continued to inform. I believed him from the get-go and calmly asked if they could take them anyway. (I know from experience that Fedex and UPS take anyone's packages graciously while informing you that they cannot give reciepts for packages with labels that arent theirs. These packages have always shipped correctly for me in the past, getting to their destinations on time.) This US postal worker leaned down on the desk dramatically and said, "I tell ya what. We have a bin back there, where we put mistakes from UPS and maybe they'll go out in a few weeks." Is this the level of service our country's postal service wants to convey? Why did that man want to be so vile? Please privatize the post office so cretins like that man will either shape up or be gone so they can no longer inflict their nasty selves on postal customers. Give UPS and FedEx additional and real competition. I usually use UPS because you're in and out relatively quickly and they happily mail fedex and USPS in a pinch. Tonight, I was once again reminded of why i dont like to go to this post office. Ive only visited it for a handful of emergencies in the 22 years I've lived in this town. Its best avoided.

She didn't greet me and also sighed and rolled her eyes several times with several customers, including me. I get that rushes can become stressful, but it is no excuse to treat another person, especially customers, who treat you with nothing but kindness like this. Normally I would move on, but my daughter had a similar experience with the same lady on a separate occasion and I don't find it okay. I would not recommend this place since the line is always out of the door anyways, so not very efficient either.
