You know what's not flashy and sexy? Yes, there are many things that fall into this bucket. In this instance, it's United States Post Offices. USPO's are definitively not flashy nor sexy. Some are awful. Some are not so much. They are all pretty equally dark and old world because there is literally no reason for them to be fancy. They are functional government buildings. What makes these buildings 1 star or 5 star worthy are the PEOPLE! The employees here at this USPO have consistently been helpful, friendly, and genuinely downright great people to do business with. They do it with a smile. They are kind when people like me have no idea what they're really wanting to do or how to go about it with all of the different colored slips and services you can get or do. One employee has even gone to the extent of advising me that my passport renewal application was going to be rejected because I used blue ink instead of black ink and to fix it before I wasted my time and money. He knew this from working at the passport agency in the past. He could've been silent. He could've just done his job, shipped my papers, and generated more business when I came back weeks later to do it again. No, this man went out of his way to help me as a person. This, these good people, these are what make or break a business or service of any kind. These people here at this post office, they are kind. 5 stars, hands down. read more

Clerk 71 refused me service when I wanted to purchase a box and a stamp for a letter because it was easier for them to do everything together. I wanted to purchase the box so I could pack my items privately to shop out but was forced to do it in the post office since she would not allow me to purchase the box like I requested. I stood in line for nearly 30 minutes to be refused. Once I packed my box stood in line an additional 20 minutes. So of course I was upset at this point being refused once and being forced to work with the person that refused me to send out my package. She was also rude to me when I was paying for everything and said just go to the post office closer to you where they know you better. I literally just moved here and she was like we are not your primary post office. This shouldn't matter. The post office closer to me closed at 4pm and I attempted to go there first, but missed it by a few minutes because of work. Additionally, she had the audacity to say there is a survey at the bottom I'm not worried about it. Like my opinion doesn't matter or how she treated me. Honestly she was only rude to me and refused me and made me feel belittled for being openly gay with long hair and nails. I will be sure to share my experience on social media as well as this is not ok and I honestly hope that you retrain her to listen and be courteous to everyone even those that are gay. read more

For whatever reason Amazon gave my package to these people and I just knew it would be a problem. Regardless of the fact that I PAID for shipping, they did not deliver my package AT ALL and refused to deliver it for over a week. I called and spoke to 4 representatives about the issue and processed a Redelivery ALL 4 times, explaining that I had no way to get there at that moment because of car issues. It was not until almost TWO weeks later when I went to get my package that they were "suddenly" about to deliver the package. Not only that but I called them directly several times over the week and calls were ignored. Funny thing is they didn't deliver the package because the mail person was too lazy to walk upstairs and lied about "obstacles" when there's not even a gate not ANY obstructions nearby. Laziest group of people. Please STOP giving these people packages that aren't USPS. Rarely ever have issues with Amazon until they give packages to USPS read more

If I could leave a 0 I totally would. Your workers are so rude. This is my second time coming to this location and I've never had a good experience. I've never mailed anything in my life and it's my first time. I had a quick question for a lady and she was so rude to me. She yelled that she is closed and to wait in line. She was so nice to another lady and was making conversation with her prior to me asking a question about mailing a check. I've never had to mail a check so I was very confused. "Connie" the post office agent in Gate way in Aurora Colorado Location is rude! I walked into the location with a box to be shipped priority mail and looked for a label on the stand to fill out, but it was empty of any priority mail shipping supplies. The line was long and there was only one agent helping the customers. After 20 minutes of waiting in line another agent "Connie" came out to help and was my turn. No greeting at all from her!! She asked me in an angry way why i did not have my priority mail label filled out. I said i did not see any in the stand where they supposed to be. The stand is empty of any supplies. she said they were right in front of you on the wall. I told her i usually look for them on the stand. She said step on the side and write the address on the box while I can help other customers. Gate Way Post Office has other problems as well beside poor customer service. I live in Chelsea community that is served by Gateway Post office and many times I found other people's mail in my mailbox, and I had to hand deliver them to the right address and also others in the community hand delivered my mail to me!! I have been calling all day to talk to an agent. LITERALLY all day. I get those emails for the advance delivery notifications...anyways I am patiently waiting for my newborns social security card and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday of last week(July 9th 2021) however we still haven't received it. I have been calling all day to talk to someone about seeing if it's been delivered or if I can just come and pick it up....or if it's been stolen.. I call the number and go through the information and then it's transferred to the operator line..it rings and rings and RINGSSS some more..til someone picks up..and HANGS up. It's sooo annoying and really frustrating and super unprofessional. I get that they are busy and may be short staffed but answering just to hang up is just plain RUDE. Horrible! It's December 10 and we're in the midst of the busiest mailing time of the year. The Abilene Street post office opens at 8. I was there at 8:10. There were 15 people ahead of me in line and ONE station open. ONE!!! How is this possible? It would have taken me over an hour to get to the counter. What kind of mismanagement staffing is this? Crazy! The saving grace was the lovely custodian named Janice. She was emptying trash cans and smiling at the disgruntled (angry) customers in the long line. Janice saw me with a box in my hand and said that I could use the self service machine in the lobby. I didn't know about such a thing, so she took me there and did all the work for me and was absolutely lovely and patient and kind. She saved me over an hour and a whole lot of rage! I have a hard time hating on the Post Office because, let's be real, they all have the struggle so hard. They are understaffed. I can't go in without standing in line for 20+ minutes. This isn't this Post Office's fault. It's a higher pay-grade problem. The people are really nice. I think for the situation they are in (a crappy one!) they are making the best of it. I have been using this location since 2015. (my mistake) Its one of the cheapest locations in the city for a PO box. (I see why now) I have had problem after problem here. The very first time I went one worker tried telling me they had ZERO boxes available. Online said they had many. I left, placed a reservation on a box at this location, and paid for it. I go up there the same lady is working (usually they only have one person working the counter with a line to the front door, i have waited an hour in line during a non-holiday time. This time I go in there were more workers but she was next available to assist) when I show her the reservation she starts to panic and act like she has to check for an available box but I over heard the other workers whispering about they have many open boxes... That was the first issue. Second issues is even if packages would fit in my large box I would ALWAYS have to wait in line to hand the worker the mail slip to pick my mail up, waiting in that long slow line. This happened often!... Most recently, I had 3 items of mail I was expecting. One was a basic envelope, two were small boxes from Amazon. I watched the tracking, and arrived at the location just two hours after both amazon package were delivered. When I checked my po box there was no mail, no mail slip, or even a key to the parcel locker, just nothing. I figured maybe they are behind, so I left and done my errands then came back 2 hours later. Still nothing, so I go wait in line to talk to some one. The lady working tried looking for everything, she saw where the packages were signed in and put in a locker box. But I never had the key in my box even though someone supposedly put the key in the box. She looked and couldnt find it. I asked to speak to the manager but some rude man who said the manager is gone said he was the "acting manager". This man treated me as if I stole my own mail and wanted them to refund me. No, I just want my mail!! He told me to come back the next day. I dont live near this post office any more!! Driving all the way out there from the other side of Denver is HELL. So I had to come back the next day after it was snowing pretty heavily? Thats just lovely (and it wasnt, the drive there the next morning was scary!). Long story short, my packages were never found. They gave no real reason as to why my mail was lost or stolen. How did someone get the key out of MY box when I have all the keys? Either USPS has allowed someone else to hold keys to my box or one of their workers to the parcel locker key out of my box and took my mail. I have already reported them to the Investigator General among a few other reports elsewhere to have them look into the employees and how this place is ran. They also refuse to assist me in transferring locations or even the pro-rated rent to use at the next USPS location I set up a box at, which I wont be now that I see once you give USPS your money for a box thats it, its gone, even if you paid up a year, if you want to change locations you have to take that loss and loose everything you paid them. And this location is the worst of them all. Just avoid this location if you can. Their service is unreliable, their employees are rude and disrespectful, you will wait in line forever, your mail will be lost/stolen/damaged at this location and not to mention having to fight to get in the parking lot because so many old people (from the community right around the corner) stop in the entrance leaving you in the road while they decide where they want to park for 5 minutes only to leave the parking lot. AVOID THIS LOCATION AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE - This place is a joke and a scam read more

Always a long line whenever I go no matter the time and service is the slowest of any po I've been to in 4 states. Got kicked out of line to make way for a customer behind me (wtf?) so he wouldn't have to wait in line because he had a quick order. Different rules each time I visit, door has to be closed, door has to be open, 6 people rule counts employees, rule doesn't count employees. I happened to walk out my front door just in time to see the mail truck drive out of my subdivision. This is unacceptable laziness on the part of the mail carrier. The customer service here is excellent, the staff are awesome and super nice but, this is an old community post office. It's small and parking is very limited. There is also only ONE self service stand. Beware and give yourself plenty of time. I came here to get my passport and it was honestly a very pleasant experience. I saw the previous review about the guy Bob and I definitely did NOT have him. The gentleman who helped me was an older (not old) black man and he was awesome! (I think his name is some initials? I'm sorry I don't recall) He was very friendly and knowledgable. He took a picture of me smiling (and yes you can smile) and helped me properly fill out my papers. He was even joking around with me and other customers the entire time and was always very friendly with everyone who came in. I was honestly expecting a terrible experience since the post office is notorious for it but I was glad I came here! Just make sure you set up an appointment with my guy instead of this Bob :) you'll leave happy and well helped with your passport! read more

Horrible experience trying to get passports. Came in with my boyfriend and 5 month old daughter. Bob took his sweet time taking our photos, barely knew how to work the camera. When it came to the paperwork he had no clue what he was doing. Had to stop and ask questions every couple minutes- I don't know why they didn't just have someone else take over. At this point the baby was growing fussy. In the end it took him so many attempts to charge our cards the bank assumed it was fraud. So we had to leave and go to an ATM to get cash. Now just a week before our trip and we get notification in the mail that the passport photo was sized incorrectly and we did not include the proper documentation of citizenship (fyi you need to include your original ID, don't listen to Bob if he says you only need to send a copy) I will be livid if this ruins our vacation plans! Absolutely without question THE RUDEST people I have ever dealt with. Came in to have them track a package for me, since the website wasn't showing anything, and I was accused of printing a label and not actually shipping a package. I left the package inside, like I always do, and was told there wasn't anything they could do and if I left the package it was at MY risk. Insinuated I was lying and basically tough. I told them to check their cameras and see when I walked in with a package and when I walked out empty handed..said they couldn't do that.
